Food 4/5 Service 4/5 Vibe 4/5 New-ish viet Resturant near sheppard and yonge. Its a franchise so food is standard as always. Not bad, just slightly MSG, but again reso food, so its expected. Overall 4/5

So happy this place opened! It's located on Yonge and Elmwood. You enter and it's located upstairs. They have elevator for those who cannot walk up the stairs. It's quite a large restaurant and the decor is much like the other locations. The staff is very helpful and hardworking. Last time I had the hot Vietnamese coffee and it was amazing!!! They come differently compared to other viet restaurants. This one is already prepared in a cup while other restaurants provide you with the drip coffee and condensed milk, and then you add the condensed milk yourself after the coffee is done dripping. I like getting to look at the process more. But the coffee still was very satisfying. Today I had the pho, portion for small was just right. Lovely and the I also ordered the coconut jelly dessert. Super refreshing. My friends ordered the lemon grass chicken rice and it was delicious. The chicken was tasty and moist. Shrimp rolls was also very good. There are diff dishes that cater to different people. Will come back again soon!!

PHO ANH VU . . @phoanhvutoronto opened near Yonge and Sheppard so we decided to go give them a try. The interior is beautiful and very inviting. They have a variety of pho, vermicelli and rice dishes, as well as appetizers and extra sides you can order. . . Shrimp Salad Roll (S) 3.8/5 Pho Dac Biet (L) 3.9/5 Grilled Pork 4/5 . . Overall everything tasted good and flavourful but the pho broth was a bit too sweet for our liking. Also it is on the pricier side compared to other viet restaurants.

We came for a friend's anniversary dinner and was seated right under 2 trees that form the shape of a heart and I thought that was so cute! The restaurant itself is located on the 2nd floor and they do have an elevator if mobility is an issue. Service was quick and prompt and the atmosphere was just really beautiful. However, seating was a bit cramped but there was 8 of us. I REALLY wanted to try their Beef Rib Noodle Pho. I saw it on Instagram and thought it looked really good. But unfortunately they sell limited quantities a day and it was sold out. So I got the Special Bun Bo hue for $24.95 and it was delicious! It was spicy and savory with a strong umami flavor. The portion size was massive. They really loaded that bowl up. This is the first time I had difficulty finishing my own dish at a Vietnamese restaurant. We also got a few appetizers including the Shrimp rolls, Spring rolls and the mango salad. I really enjoyed the crispy spring rolls and the mango salad. The mango was very tangy, crunchy and refreshing. I would skip the shrimp rolls though. They were very mediocre and bland. Very delicious Vietnamese restaurant. It's not cheap but for the portion size, I thought it was very reasonable. I would definitely come back again.

Newly opened location in North York Willowdale (Yonge/Sheppard). We're seated on the second floor but would take the elevator if mobility is an issue. Decor and ambience was great being a new location. Plenty of seating including cart seats and tables for two. Ordered the pho dac biet (special). They mention the broth took 18 hours to make, so it was packed with flavor while still being nice and light. They had additional sauces on the side but the satay sauce was the star. Elevates the pho to a new level. Their grilled dishes were also nicely charred with a bbq flavor. Service was standard (no QR code for ordering) but still quick and easy efficient as you would expect. Great to see this addition in the area, especially if you want some pho on a cold day!

Newly opened Pho Anh Vu near Yonge & Sheppard. Super close to me so i thought I'd give it a try. I've been to the other Pho Anh Vu locations which have been good. Decorated very nicely for the Christmas season and also in general - lovely paintings showcasing Vietnam and beautiful interior. I tried their Pho Ga (chicken pho) and my bf tried their Bun Bo Hue. I typically go for their Beef Pho or Vermicelli bowls but i wanted to try their Pho Ga - which was just okay. They are pretty generous with the proteins/toppings, but I've had better chicken pho else where. I didn't love the broth. The Bun bo hue was quite spicy - i just had a few sips of the broth. But my bf did enjoy his meal. We'll probably be back for our regular orders - Beef pho and vermicelli bowls. The service was just okay. When we entered, it was a bit awkward as there is no host at the front - and we had to find our way to the middle where all the staff are. We also had to wave down the staff when we wanted to order or needed anything, as they weren't really paying attention. Rate 3.5/5.

Pho Anh Vu Sheppard located along Yonge St. near Elmwood Ave just opened today on Dec 6th! Having multiple locations across the GTA, this pho chain opened in the space which used to occupy a Jack Astors. For this particular location, all orders have a 10% discount from Dec 6 to 20 where there is also a chance for you to win prizes and giveaways. They also accept only cash or debit only. I stopped by Pho Anh Vu on their opening day for dinner around 6pm. Only the 2nd floor of the restaurant is currently open where you do have to navigate stairs. There is an elevator if you are not able to use the stairs. Upon arrival on the 2nd floor we checked in with the host and we were given a menu and asked to write our order before we were led to our table (we waited about 5 min for a table). During our time there the restaurant was always full, busy with customers enjoying their food. The restaurant did run out of the beef rib pho at lunch though! We ordered the following items: - Pho dac biet (special rice noodle soup with rare beef tenderloin, well done flank, tendon, beef ball, and tripe) - I got a size small ($18.50) and my partner got a large size ($22.95) - Appetizer we got a cha gio (spring rolls) - $10.95 (small) I've eaten at another Pho Anh Vu location so I kind of knew how the pho would be like. This was no different at this particular new location. The fresh noodles were cooked well. The broth was comforting and the beef was of higher quality. My tendon got lost in the soup but there was an abundance of beef and ingredients in my pho (even though it was a small!). The best thing about pho anh vu is that the have chili flakes, chopped chili, chili oil, as well as pickled garlic to eat with your pho. Those extra condiments on the table definitely add another level to your pho. The spring rolls were also hot and fresh. Service wise, the staff were friendly and efficient. Despite it being their opening day, we found that our experience was great. To pay your bill you walk up to the cashier. Overall, a great new addition to the neighbourhood!

I ordered the bun bo hue, pho, and spring rolls. The bun bo hue tasted more like a spicy pho broth, and the pho reminded me of the broth at the Michelin recommended restaurant on Ossington. Overall, the bun bo hue and spring rolls were just okay, nothing special. The pho was good if you're looking for something simple. They also put a large piece of beef tendon in the pho, which I loved! One thing I didn't like was that the owner seemed to be rushing us to order, which felt a bit off putting. I'd come back for the pho and spring rolls, but I'm not sure about the other dishes.

This really is soul food when you're feeling sick. My one quarrel with this place is the extremely small wide of their "large soup bowls" this is just terrible. I wish they would just go back to a regular large bowl of soup. This is the smallest "large" pho soup size I've had just about anywhere I've been. Honestly amazing place, but the portion of the soup really really irks me. Also the fried spring rolls are a must try! Incredible every single time.

The dry noodle dishes under the green column use egg noodles & those under the brown use rice noodles but the toppings & sauce are the same. The most pricey rice noodles are Japanese but otherwise the difference is width. Got the thin egg noodle version in large. It's recommended to add pickled garlic & red vinegar. The soup was pretty tasty with a natural sweetness, 2 springy half fishballs & a large, very fresh shrimp. The sauce was basically oyster sauce but pickled garlic, red vinegar, hoi sin & chili sauce were available to add complexity. The noodles weren't wet but were not dry either. Large was a very big bowl it came with minced pork, thin sliced pork beansprouts & greens. The pickled garlic was good. Also got a shrimp fritter on the side for $2.50. It was big with one tiny shrimp. The juxtaposition was comical but it was cheap. It was not warm but the fritter was crispy & tasty. Unfortunately the shrimp itself was dry & brittle. Service was good, especially for an Asian place.

Right down to the non-white washed clientele. I'd always prefer to dine where the "locals" dine, and being in a multicultural city like Toronto, it's difficult to fine a hidden gem that hasn't been invaded by foreigners (I'm laughing inside because I'm not Viet and am disliking myself for being that invader; however, I can pass for a Viet if I just point to the table I want and the menu item I'd like ). So, please keep this place to yourself as I would hate to line up the next time I come.
