Came here for lunch on Friday. The decor is quite nice, very inviting and good space between tables. Staff was friendly and place is very well run. Food came out quite quickly. Ordered a large house special pho (pho here is $18 for small and $21 for a large). A bit on the pricier side, but you get quite a bit in the bowl. I did see another table that had the pork bones and wow you get a lot of soft tasty meat. I am getting that next time (only available I think until 2pm, but it looked good. The noodles had a good bounce which I liked and the broth, although a little bit weak was very clean and had a good taste. You get lots of meat so the ratio is very good. I also got a pork and pate banh mi. This was nicely toasted and again you get a ton of meat ($8.99). All in all without drinks lunch cost me about $35 + tip, but these days everything is expensive. I would go again as the food is good. Will definitely try the pork bones with all that meat next time. read more

Was recommended to check this place out and decided to do so since I was in the area. Found the decor and interiors to be stunning from the moment I walked in, with pretty pink flowers, trees, lots of lighting and the best part? Beautiful art! Love this place! This restaurant is busy for a reason. Solid pho special and special bun bo hue, and the prices are great too. The broth is fantastic. So healing after a day of playing sports outside. The bun bo hue is not too spicy. Both have lots of meat. They also offer a lot of the fancier noodle soup dishes as other restaurants. Ambiance is nice with greenery, florals and art. Service is excellent - fast, polite and efficient. I ordered a grilled chicken & spring roll with vermicelli, the portion was definitely not worth $19. I also tried their coconut milkshake, I also felt it was quite pricey for $7. Located in Peach tree mall in the corner of Kennedy and Highway 7. There is plenty of parking with limited accessible parking. The dining room is large but the aisle not optimized for wheelchair access. The service can do some work as the server was rude and not very attentive. The food was prepared immediately but came at different times. And our wings appetizer arrived when we were halfway through the entrees. There needs to be a revamp in the customer service and kitchen management to ensure proper timing of goods. The flavouring was lacking in most dishes. The fresh shrimp spring roll had no shrimp sweetness and the peanut sauce was very watered down to have no peanut flavour. The BBH had a very light broth dominated with a strong seafood undertone. The pho was plenty big and the broth had a strong spice undertone but not very rich with the beefy flavours I associate pho broth to have. All foods were full of MSG as we found ourselves very thirsty after our meal. With the influx of all the new Vietnamese/ Pho shops, I will pass on this as the prices are not competitive at the current quality level. read more

First time back since they changed their names. Interior is the same and some staff turnover but similar if not worse customer service than before. The food is still decent and flavours are good (pho and apps). We see the signs but still forgot to mention at time of ordering for dry noodle so I guess the default is fresh. I do wish they would ask at time of ordering :( I came with a group of people and we have one baby who needed a high chair. We liked the table that came with the chair (big and spacious) but WHY DID THE SERVER INSIST ON PUTTING THE GIANT LARGE PHO IN FRONT OF THE BABY. We all were like gesturing, pointing away and telling him to please the pho is for that dude at the end of the table and not the baby (who was not even sitting at the end of the table but the middle). Like the parents were very paranoid the soup can spill on their child which is a valid concern when its hot broth meant to cook the raw meat... And when I went to pay (you pay at the front fyi), another customer was telling the manager/owner her own unhappiness at the missed order, other mishaps and overall her displeasure at the same server who wanted to serve our table's baby a giant pot of boiling soup. Stumbled upon this place as I was craving for hot soupy noodles for a wintery day. This restaurant did not disappoint and I would absolutely recommend it to any pho lovers. The beef rib was cooked to perfection with the meat falling off the bone, the hotpot style pho kept the soup piping hot and allowed plenty of time for me to cook the meats the way I like it. I have been to this location a couple of times now just for the convenience and no wait times, but I always leave this restaurant impressed! Not only are the pho's delicious and come packing, the pricing is pretty reasonable. The service is very good and fast, with staff members being versatile being able to speak multiple languages which allows customers to order with ease. Colder weather means it's pho season. My partner and I dropped by at around noon on a Sunday and we were seated right away. I love the interior of the place and it's decorated with nice paintings. The menu is standard for a pho place but does come with a hefty price tag for a small bowl. They only have small and large. I ordered the special pho and an avocado smoothie. Service was fast and the small bowl is actually pretty big with a decent amount of meat. Unless you're super hungry, get the small. Favourite pho spot has made it's way to Markham! I've dined at their other locations before in Mississauga and Richmond Hill and absolutely fell in love at first sip of soup. So I'm so stoked that they're open in Markham now. Since they first opened their doors back in the summer, it's been impossible to try to dine in (long waits, or I've tried to dine in and they were closed) here until recently. I've always gotten take out here since they've been open through food delivery apps, but this was my first time dining in. When entering you'll notice the beautiful decor in the restaurant. They have a huge cherry blossom tree inside the restaurant just like all their other locations which really adds to the vibe of the restaurant. Service is quick and the food comes quickly as well. Here's what we got: Pho Bac Biet 5/5 - My favourite here and such a staple. The broth is so flavourful and clear with the perfect seasoning to it. What I love about this place is that they have an abundance of meat in their noodle soups which I appreciate. Pho is on the pricier side. Bun Bo Hue 5/5 - Deep flavour profile in their broth. It also comes with a lot of meat to noodle ratio which I love. Not too spicy to the palette. Cha Gio (spring rolls) 5/5 - So crispy and filled with meat filling. So delicious with their fish sauce and a great appetizer to start the meal with. Overall, I love this restaurant and all their dishes. Pho anh vu by yorkdale is what made me super happy that they opened one close to home. However this location a rip off. Not only is the price higher than other locations , this one also gives the least meat to rice or noodle portion. All the other locations are decent with the meat portion however not this one. Everytime I come back, the portions get smaller and smaller. Yesterday we had the chicken rice and the pork vermicelli with spring roll. My dish was fine but my boyfriend chicken was a little pink and we decided to ask them to check if it's fully cooked or not? Within a minute the server comes back and says chef says it's cooked. Honestly we didn't think so but because the chef confirmed it's cooked, my bf started eating it. Then all of a sudden, they gave us a replacement. Not as good as the richmond hill location imo (except for the broken rice). The broken rice at this location looks way better than the richmond hill location. You get more meat and a bigger portion overall. One thing I noticed that they changed here compared to the richmond hill location is the 4:30pm special hot stone bowl pho. Instead of a beef rib in the stone bowl, they give you oxtail. I ordered this because I thought it'd be like Art of Pho's oxtail stone bowl pho in richmond hill (they give you HUGE chunks of oxtail). I got maybe 5 super small pieces of oxtail and to top it off, they increased the price of the stone bowl pho from $25.99 to $31.99!!!! In my opinion, totally not worth it. I would much rather they bring back the beef rib for the 4:30pm stone bowl pho at the original 22.95 or 25.99 price (they still have the 2 beef rib pho for the 11am - 2pm special at $22.95 which is great). Also, at $31.99 you're lookin at almost $40 after tax and tip for a pho. On top of this, I came w/ friends and my stone bowl pho looked smaller than my friend's bowl which was just a normal pho with all the meats added. If I'm ever craving hot stone bowl pho for dinner I'm definitely not coming to this location. Will stick to richmond hill location. Still at least 4 stars because the taste is great. read more

We ordered a few dishes to share like the pho beef tower which turned out to be good for one person - it came with less noodle than we expected. The server told us it was good for 2 to 3 ppl... The soup base was really good! The spring roll was good and crispy. The rare beef noodle soup was good. The sizes offered is small, large and extra large. We also tried the iced viet coffee and they don't give you a full cup. It was ok! We also tried a rice dish - grilled chicken and grilled pork chop. Pretty typical tasting. I finally tried this new pho restaurant out in Markham. My first impressions: super busy, gives a higher end feeling, and the tables are pretty compact with limited room to sit. Where I was seated, the back of my chair kept hitting the person behind me. What I ordered: - #23: Pho Tho Ba ($29.95): this hot pot pho dish was a really big portion and I shared it with another person. It's definitely a 2-person meal. We ordered extra noodles for $2 and we ended up having lots of leftovers. Extra bean sprouts are free. The only downside of this is that we had to keep asking for more fire cubes to keep cooking our items. We got 3 of them total because the flame kept dying out. Overall, this dish was really good and very worth the price because the portions were big. The beef was very meaty and the broth was good too. I love the side condiments. Their garlic/chilli pepper paste with oyster sauce is so good. I heard good things about the platters, so I'll definitely come back and try those next. New pho restaurant at the corner of New Kennedy Square. During their grand opening promo, they are doing a 10% discount for cash payments. Long line up on their first day which was expected. And so some improvements could be done. It seemed like the staff in charge wasn't competent or experienced enough to manage table arrangements. Our group waited for almost an hour for a table that we basically arranged ourselves. In terms of food, The pho was great. Hearty, flavorful beefy broth with very generous amount of toppings and noodles. I didn't quite like their noodles however. They were thicker and not silky enough for my liking. The chicken wings in bbq sauce was okay. We wanted the dry rub wings but they only had them with sticky rice and not on their own. For $12.45, I much prefer the fried wings from Nam 2. Their vermicelli was yummy and you have the option to get them with spring rolls and shrimp on sugarcane along with the grilled meats. I also find it quite interesting that their size options are S, L and XL. Like where's the medium? Not sure if that's intentional so that they could charge a steep $22.95 for an XL pho. And this location seems to be $2 more expensive than the online menu from Richmond hill location. Overall, great place for Vietnamese food. Lots of options and varieties. But the price would be a deterrent to returning as there are so many pho options around in the area that are much cheaper in price. read more

Pho Ahu Vu Unionville has been renamed to Pho Dac Biet. A manager mentioned that the store exited the arrangement with Pho Ahu Vu and went alone. I checked online that the prices are similar to Pho Ahu Vu. The three of us ordered a pho (XL size) and a grilled pork vermicelli to share. The pho broth was flavorful with mild MSG. The pho noodle was not as high quality as some of the best pho places. But PDB more than redeemed this with a lot of meat and garnishments. There was so much meat that we just kept eating. The vermicelli was well portioned with a lot of pork. PDB was generous with the sauce as well, which was so important for a dry noodle dish. The 2 entrees fed the three of us to stuffed. PDB is pretty pricey. We feel the XL size pho is where the value lies. read more

Their service is fast and efficient. Food wise, they've got all the popular and, most of all, traditional dishes that reminded me of my trip there. Situated at Kennedy Road/Highway 7 in Markham, Pho Anh Vu is noted to provide an authentic Vietnamese dining experience. We arrived around 2 PM for a late lunch on the final day of their 10% off deal. There was no issue with finding a parking spot and the 30-minute estimated wait wasn't surprising, given the promo. The entrance area felt cramped, and due to limited space, customers had to wait outside. It appeared that attention was primarily given to those who had checked in even though there is a crowd waiting outside, resulting in us being unintentionally overlooked twice. Implementing a text alert or app sign-in system could potentially mitigate such issues, especially given the restaurant's current popularity. Once seated, our trio was excited to explore the menu which is in Vietnamese. I was looking forward to their Iced Vietnamese Coffee and their Bone Marrow Pho. Unfortunately, upon ordering, the waitress informed me the special had just sold out. So, we opted for BBQ wings to share, along with Pho Tai, Bun Bo Hue, and Meat Muscle Pho. Normally, I'd choose the Viet Spring Rolls, but $15.95 for four pieces felt steep for the portion size. They also offered Fish Sauce wings for $15, as they came with sticky rice, but that was $5+ more than the BBQ wings. Rethinking the special, I was torn between Beef Flank and Beef Muscle. The waitress had no idea what some of the dishes were, so I had to turn to Google. The Iced Coffee arrived first, but it was 90% ice. I suggest you try to get it with less ice. One of the straws would not even go into the cup because of how much ice there was. The BBQ wings - they were okay, but nothing remarkable and I would definitely not recommend or get it again. At $9.95 for three, you'd expect more than wings drenched in BBQ sauce. Our order got mixed up, and took a while to sort out. The person in charge appeared visibly displeased, leading to her questioning and lecturing us about our order change. We had made this change in less than a minute after ordering with prior confirmation from a waiter that it was okay. This conversation escalated to the point where she kept pointing to each of her staff to ask who served us and she reprimanded the waiter before us in Vietnamese, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for all involved. They went back to the kitchen right after and another worker came by to apologize for her... Moving on to the food, Bun Bo Hue was the first to arrive. The broth had a nice kick, and the toppings were good. Later, Pho Tai came, and its broth was quite tasty. The Muscle Pho took the longest but the broth was fantastic, and the included fresh basil and lime added a nice touch. The meat portion was good, but considering the $25 price tag, it felt a bit steep for Pho. We were also served 3 dishes we didn't order during the meal, which highlighted issues with the ordering process. As we finished up, we realized we had to head to the counter to pay, which wasn't too close to some tables. Just a heads up - the floor was quite slippery. The same person in charge seemed engrossed in a heated conversation with a coworker in Vietnamese and didn't notice me standing right in front of her. When she did, she handed me the wrong bill, and I had to correct her with our table number. Even with the 10% discount, the bill came to $89.63 without tips, a bit high for three noodle soup dishes, a shared appetizer, and drinks. We also noticed some staff members eating outside, making the most of the limited indoor space. It was disheartening to witness the workers having their meal outside on such a hot day to make room for more customers indoors even though service was slowing down by that time. In conclusion, Pho Anh Vu's pho was great, but the overall experience was very disappointing. If you're really craving pho, it might be worth a visit, but there's definitely room for improvement in many areas. Inclusion of dish descriptions alongside the Vietnamese names on the menu and proper staff training regarding menu items could definitely enhance the ordering experience. read more
