This is my go to spot. I'm here probably once a week. The brisket pho and fresh spring rolls are always good.

I've only had a few items on the menu it solid place for pho. Beef pho broth has good flavor and they don't skimp on the meat. The grilled pork vermicelli was only okay. I've had better as it wasn't as flavorful as I've had at other places. Fresh spring rolls are decent, but do think the wrappers are on the thick side. What really stands out to me are their banh mi's. Huge sandwich filled with meat and pickled veggies. Perfect for lunch and under $5! The restaurant itself it spacious and service is decent. I'm not sure I've ever seen a pho restaurant like this before. You walk in and it is..... a nice, vibrant, and CLEAN restaurant. It had me skeptical at first, since I've only really ever been to pho restaurants that are less concerned with aesthetics, but in the end, food is all that matters to me. I have been here twice now. FOOD: Pho. Have to get it the first time around even though I might like bun bo hue better as a dish in GENERAL. Here, the pho is honestly pretty good. Broth is flavorful and light. Noodles aren't clumped together, nor are they soggy. The meat is solid, though tendon could be a little softer, but that's not really something I care about in my pho. Meatballs were surprisingly flavorful. Overall, definitely a bowl of pho I would get again. Bun bo hue. After having the pho, I reached for the BBH, which I just don't see executed very well, all that often. This was no exception. The flavor in the broth was lacking. It was spicy and decently flavorful, but nothing special. The beef cuts were standard, though the pork was actually pretty flavorful. But in the end, the broth just didn't live up to what I was hoping for. Everything comes with standard sides. I would probably stick with the pho for now. Overall a good experience. A good bowl of pho, with a solid staff, though several of the people bringing out the food don't always understand English all that well (which to me usually means the food is going to be good), which just means you have to remember what number you ordered. They could work on their workflow a bit when bringing out the food, but if you have a smaller table (4 or less), it usually isn't a problem. Just what the hangover doctor ordered. The staff was attentive and very kind. Really fast service without the feel of them rushing you out the door. The fried shrimp cake starter was so deliciously crispy and not at all over oily like some restaurants who do the same thing. The #26 seafood pho had a lot of flavor. The broth was great and the amount of seafood they pack into each bowl sends the rating through the roof. I love when restaurants are so generous with portion sizes. I did end up forgetting about my drink until all my food was gone (another good sign) but it worked out since my Thai tea was basically dessert. read more

Surprisingly good! Got the pho with cooked meat, tripe, etc. The broth was super flavorful (not sure if MSG but it was good!) We also got the bun thit nuong cha goi. Large portions, the pork was juicy and tender, needed a tad bit more fish sauce. But overall very satisfied with our meal. Some of the best pho I've had! Got the "crunchy flank," which was suggested by our server, but he couldn't give me much of an explanation of the "crunchy" meat choices. I went with it...a large bowl was like $8! The broth was so flavorful, not overly salty, and served nice and hot. Noodles were perfect consistency. I mixed in some chili paste, hoisin sauce, and added all the fresh veggies (soybeans, cilantro, mint, basil, jalapeno, and lime) that come with it. I didn't get what was supposed to be crunchy though! The tender, thinly sliced steak seemed like the regular flank. We shared the combo fried rice and the appetizer chicken wings with the table, and it was more than enough food to go along with everyone's pho. The fried rice and the chicken wings were both delicious. The Vietnamese iced coffee was strong and sweet, and the taro smoothie and strawberry smoothie were excellent. Boba pearls were the right texture. Service was pretty good for it being as busy as it was the entire evening as far as refills and other requests. The pho orders were the first thing to come out, and the rest of the food took a little while to come out after (hence only 4 stars). We have two of these restaurants in town....this is the original spot. Although both are equally good and I believe owned by the same people I prefer this one better. Service is fast and friendlier and they have nice area for TV's in back of the restaurant. I was able to catch the 49'ers win the NFC championship game against the Packers...so kudos to this place. Vallejo doesn't disappoint when I'm craving Vietnamese; all the local spots I hit up are pretty decent. Pho 1 is no exception. I wish I could compare all the pho spots better, but it honestly depends on what dish your go-to is. And it really depends on different aspects of the dish too you value more. I got #89 to-go (Bun Vermicelli with bbq beef, egg roll) which is my standard when I'm feeling something other than Pho on a hot day. I've tried the one at Pho Huong Viet (down Sonoma, closer to American Canyon), and Pho Vallejo (next to target). My verdict is that all of them each have good components. Here at Pho 1, they probably have the BEST portion size (meat, noodles), and the freshest vermicelli/veg (still springy noodles!). But the egg rolls/beef are more flavorful at Pho Huong Viet! This has been my favorite spot for years and years. The restaurant is very clean and kept up, the service is very fast and efficient, and the food is soooooo good. I always get a #14 - pho with thin steaks. Tip- Ask for a loaf of bread with your pho, it comes out so warm and fresh and tastes amazing dipped into the broth. Upon walking in, it was seemingly very busy but the waitresses/waiters were very quick with getting orders out. Despite how fast you get your food (which is in less then 10 minutes), the food NEVER tastes like it was thrown together. Everything was very flavorful and filling! I always order their pho soups and chicken wings as a side and it's always delicious. The restaurant is very comfortable and the lighting is dim to feel relaxing. I always hated restaurants that have bright lighting and it makes you feel like you're on stage haha. But I would recommend checking them out if you're in the Vallejo area! read more

i ordered on line and had a deliver through grub hub. I have a bad cold and was looking forward to some great warm food. The order was incorrect. I ordered vermicelli with chicken and shrimp with rice. I got vegetables only, mostly zucchini, with each order. No shrimp no chicken. Each dish was $17.95 I called to ask for a new order or refund. It took a long time to find my order. And the person suggested i come down and they'd make it right. I have a cold, ordered because i didn't want to go out. So she offered me a refund and said you can get it on line. This is not true or it's not clear how it could be done. I am out almost $80. One of my favorite pho restaurants in Vallejo! I love how quick the service is. I always get Pho Tai and it's been my go to for years. My other favorite thing to get are the fried egg rolls. Will not recommend it to anyone , stick to fresh spring roll and the basics . I liked their #113 Vietnamese dessert drink that was yummy. I ordered my usual Vietnamese dish called vermicelli it's number #96 in their menu. Had better tasting dry vermicelli elsewhere , in terms of protein which was pork or beef they were not skimpy. So a plus where usually other Vietnamese restaurants are rather skimpy. I've been here a handful of times. Each time the food is decent-- not bad but not the best, it gets the job done. To keep it short, there was a black bug in soup. (Not a fly or a gnat, it could've been a small beetle or roach.) I noticed it when I was half way through. I instantly alerted the staff and respectfully let them know about the bug. My appetite was lost so there was no need to replace my meal. What caught me off guard was that he asked if I was still going to pay for my drink. Personally, that should have been the least of his worries. What good does it serve to get the $3 for a drink after a customer just let you know there's a bug in the soup? This restaurant have a good size portion of food. I love that their vermicelli noodles are the thin small ones. We order the fish cake to try and love it. I think out of all, the fish cake is the best. Not a lot of restaurant in this area have chili oil for their pho but this restaurant do. The wait time for food is pretty quick. If I could give a -10 rating, I would. We got our food in a timely manner but as soon as we were about to eat, my husband found a cockroach in his pho broth. We brought it to the waitress's attention. She apologized and said she would comp my husband's bowl and offered to give us an entirely new bowl. We got a new bowl but we were very hesitant to eat as cockroaches are a sign of unsanitary conditions. At the end the meal, we went to pay, only to be billed the entire meal including the bowl that we were told would be comped. We have been loyal customers and have eaten here regularly for years. Came here about an hour before closing due to mini me having a craving for this place. This was my first time being here and I was quite impressed with the service and appearance of the place. It's so nice inside! Parking lot is a bit crazy but you totally forget it once you are inside the place. The servers are prompt and not in a rude way either. They quickly got our drink orders while we checked the menu out. I ended up getting the stir fry shrimp dish with no noodles and mini me got a bbq shrimp plate. We both liked our food and it was generously portioned too. For the price and the quality of food it was affordable. They always kept our drinks topped off and even continued to check on us even as we were the last ones in the restaurant.
