First time I had here was back in 2021 when the pandemic was just starting to calm down. I got their yogurt coffee and it honestly wasn't my favorite. This time, I came back 5 years later on a Monday morning around 11:30am. It's located on 10th Ave near S Jackson St at Thai Binh Apartments, not too far from The Alley and Pacific Rim Center. The inside is really small, with just two tables to sit at, and you can see the counter right at the front. There's a display area full of Vietnamese books to the right-hand side of the counter, some potted plants are near the windows the distract you from the dull street parking area, and they even sell some of the Dragonfly Vietnamese waffle mixes that have been a hit in past Chinatown festivals. As for the menu, it's extremely modest and simple, with Viet coffee, matcha and hand brewed offerings along with the waffles themselves. From recommendations I got from the lone server - who was extremely kind and answered some of my questions about the menu - I got a regular-sized pandan coffee. Pretty STRONG coffee despite the cup being about 60% full of ice after downing the drink quickly, like I can still feel it about 8+ hours in! Pandan taste is very apparent, which is great since phin-dripped coffee usually overwhelms whatever extra taste is added in, be it a puree or a topping. I could taste the milky, coconut-flavored, subtle almond-like undertones I would expect, and this is as advertised by my server which is another plus. This place is so unassuming and humble, you wouldn't think too much coming here because of how secluded it is. But if you want some stronger coffee in a relatively calm area, this is an ideal place to go!

Every time I have a good Vietnamese coffee, the coffee shop is always nestled in the most obscure places. Phin is kinda off the radar which makes it annoying to get to but you're rewarded with a chill and relaxed shop that isn't too crowded. The shop is decorated with Vietnamese touches mixed with a splash of colorful modern. The space is supplemented by board/card games which can be really fun for a group of friends who want to enjoy a table game with their coffee. There is also a restroom so you can stay as long as you want. The pandan latte and the coconut coffee were really good. The pandan latte tasted distinctly of pandan and was perfectly balanced by the Vietnamese coffee. The coconut coffee was almost like a coconut coffee slush but still distinctly tasted like coffee. This made up for the somewhat standoff-ish service which is probably attributed to the owner's reserved nature rather than him actively being rude. As a snack, my partner and I also got the pandan waffle to share which was nice and crispy while having that satisfying chewy mochi texture. Taste-wise, it was a little lacking and tasted less like pandan and more like dough. TLDR; Phin is in the middle of nowhere but has good Vietnamese coffee and decent vibes.

Phin is this cool little Vietnamese coffee shop! Inside there's a great vibe and the staff are very pleasant. I dared the Sữa Đá which is an iced Vietnamese coffee and Mrs. E. tried the Wintermelon green tea. The coffee was a little sweet for me, but overall, a tasty drink and a nice compliment to my Pandan waffle. We asked for a cup of ice for the tea (that's the way she prefers it) which I feel diluted and ruined the drink. Mrs. E. seemed to enjoy it, regardless. Yay! It's pretty comfy for a trendy coffee shoppe. First time I've seen a coffee shoppe that takes reservations! They serve a pretty good flan, too! 05/25

Small little place with decor that reminds me of Vietnam culture. Also has many children book talking about tales within the culture as well. A few couches there and some chairs. Service could be slow if there's a lot of people as it seems there's only one person working. However, one drink was messed up and he was glad to fix it still no charge which is good. Off to the food review. 4/5 - Viet Iced Coffee - Very strong with a good amount of sweetness to balance the strength/bitterness of the coffee. Just what i was looking for in general with a coffee drink. Just a warning for non-viet coffee drinkers, its usually very strong and sweet, quite intense and if thats too much i don't recommend ordering it. 3.5/5 - Pandan Waffle - This was quite crispy but due to it being in powder form (sold in front of counter) I wished it had actual coconut pieces in it and tasted more fresh. A little bit too air-y and it seem it lost the fluffiness of the waffle and just some has crisp ends.

The pandan Waffle is so so good. I wish it wasn't so expensive but I guess it's Seattle prices. But regardless, it is so good. So airy and light. It def wouldn't fill you up like for breakfast or anything but it you're looking for a light snack this is it.

There isn't any coffee places I've been to that could make a yogurt coffee better than Phin in Seattle. I've been here since they first opened around COVID-19 and they never disappointed me once. Every coffee drinks is made fresh upon order. Their waffle is fluffy in the middle and crispy on edge, very fulfilling. Besides coffee, their soda drink is also really refreshing and a good choice when you want something different. The store is operated solely by one guy and he has been there since the beginning. I've never had to wait too long to get my drinks even when the shop got busy. Ambiance replicates really well the Vietnamese culture but also has some special touches to it. It's one of a kind than other coffee shops in the area.

I normally I get coconut coffee but I like the blended type not the coconut cream type. Pandan and black sesame seems to be a regular item on the menu at most I love to check out trendy coffee shops when I'm out of town. Have never seen yogurt coffee, not even in Orange County, CA and decided to try that. I knew it would be a gamble because I do not like the tarty sour flavor of Vietnamese yogurt. My first sip and immediate reaction, I did not like. Definitely that wiff of sour tartness shot up my nose. Not to mention the semi thickness texture. As I took another sip, I'm starting to like it. It's tolerable but I wouldn't get it again. It was well balanced with coffee and condense milk. The coffee was on the stronger side. So much culture in this cafe. Tons of cultural books both for adults and children.

This cafe is a bit tucked away from the other food spots in Chinatown. The interior has nice wall decor and aesthetics. FYI: the coffee flan is no longer available. As of 2/2/2025, the only food options are waffles or noodles. I ordered the iced pandan latte and pandan waffle. Pandan waffle: crispy, light, and perfectly sweet. I devoured it and would absolutely order it again. Pandan latte: I got this with the default settings (regular ice, sugar, and dairy milk). It was loaded with ice, so I'd ask for less next time. That said, the ice quality was surprisingly good--it took several hours to melt, whereas other cafes' ice melts in less than 20 minutes. The sweetness was just right; the drink wasn't overly sweet at all. I'll definitely be back to reorder these or try something new!

Whenever I need a quick caffeine boost, Phin in Little Saigon has always been a great visit! They're located right by the I-5 underpass off of Jackson Street and 10th Ave, under the Thai Binh Apartments building. Phin specializes in phin drip Vietnamese coffee. While the Vietnamese coffee game is STRONG in Seattle these days, Phin's coffee is stronger! If you're looking for a caffeine kick that has a strong taste then Phin is the place to go! They don't offer a lot of flavors or cream tops like other Vietnamese coffeeshops in the city, but they definitely make up their quantity for their quality. My most recent visit I tried my favorite Vietnamese coffee combo, the black sesame cream Vietnamese coffee! The nutty-ness from the black sesame gave for a sweet earthy flavor profile, mixed with a smooth drip coffee. Can't beat it! I've also had their pandan waffles too, and they're some of the most delicious waffles I've ever had! The interiors are also well-decorated, making me feel like I am visiting a cafe straight from Vietnam. It's a small but calm space perfect for meeting up with friends over a coffee. The owner Bảo is also very kind and runs the whole shop himself. Pay a visit the next time you're in Little Saigon, Seattle!

After coming back from Vietnam, I have been reluctant to try the vietnamese coffee shops in the states fearing they would not be as authentic, but Phin hit the spot. It's one of the first places I have found that has both the yogurt coffee and salted cream coffee that is at all the coffee shops in Vietnam, and they were both so delicious without being too sweet! -Salted cream coffee (5/5): had the perfect balance of sweet and salty which made the drink more well-rounded and balanced, while still tasting refreshing -Yogurt coffee (5/5): unlike any yogurt coffee I tried in Vietnam and it definitely grew on me more as I drank it, but is more tart in taste without being too thick. Would definitely come back!

Came here for the Phê x Phin popup and was not disappointed. My girlfriend had been seeing the viral banana pudding matchas on social media so we were excited to try it out. We ordered Banana Pudding Matcha Latte and the Banana Pudding Hojicha Latte and both were delicious. The matcha and hojicha on their own were really flavorful and tasted high-quality, not too bitter or watered down. Paired with the banana pudding, the drinks had the perfect amount of sweetness and it was not overpowering at all. Definitely some of the best matcha and hojicha I've had in Seattle, these did not disappoint. The ambiance was pretty cozy and felt especially nice today since it was raining. There is limited seating however so be prepared if you can't get a place to sit down. This popup was a great experience and I'm looking forward to coming back to try Phin's drinks. So good, I came here twice in a week! I'm vegan, so it's hard to find a cà phê sữa option for me, but they have an condensed oat milk,. I love how simple but delicious and traditional the coffee is and prefer this over the more 'Instagram friendly' looking drinks that other Vietnamese coffee shops sell. Their pan Dan waffles are also very good, nice and crispy on the outside but has the perfect amount of pandan gooey-ness on the inside. Overall I think this coffee shop is very authentic and it's branding and environment is genuine. I love their (unofficial?) motto 'there's no rush here.' ..as coffee should be enjoyed! Sad I don't live in the area because I'd definitely frequent Phin as much as I could. Thanks, Phin!!! read more

phin cured my homesickness! The baristas and owner care so much about community, and the space and dedication to the brew reflect their priorities. They even make their own condensed milk! The ca phe sua reminded me of my family's weekend grocery trips in little Saigon, and my parents would treat us with ca phe sua and pandan waffles. I can't wait to return! read more

If you're looking for a authentic Vietnamese drip coffee !! Look no further. Beautiful small , unique viet coffee shop. The first impression Phin gave me is in the details. Phin Remind me of Vietnam -Hanoi coffee shop, It bring me joy as I enter like I'm in ha noi my self ( your girl has not been anywhere since Covid started okay -_-) . Anyway , I order Yogurt coffee and a waffle ( for my self ) . My man ordered Ca Phe sua da. Our coffee come out first . I LOVE my yogurt coffee (sound weird I know) but it has a bit of The bitterness from fresh roasted drip coffee, a little sweetness from the condensed milk and tangy from the yogurt. It's JUST MY TYPE =p . My bf love His ca phe sua da as well. Now let's talk about THE PANDAN WaFFLE : before I even get my waffle, when they're making it, the smell of that roasted coconut , pandan along with that rice flour freshly baking in that waffle maker pan: I'm drooling just smell the intoxicating aroma of waffles hot off the iron As they hand me my Waffle. PHIN pandan waffle takes it up a notch with its sweet aroma of pandan, rich coconutty taste, chewy mochi center, and a crispy outer texture. Such a great find! I tried a Vietnamese style latte with oat milk and the Pandan waffle (vegan option) and it was really good. The staff was extremely friendly! Also we went on a Saturday morning and there were these two sweet girls in the corner of the shop selling scones which were also great! Really reccommend this place! read more

Such a cute place! We came here just for their yogurt coffee since no other coffee place has it. Yogurt coffee is definitely an acquired taste because of the sourness of the yogurt but it is delicious!! The sourness of the yogurt and the bitterness of the coffee with a touch of sweet goes so well together.. Their pandan waffle is sooooo damn good! Made fresh to order. I live in the building, and ordered the bac siu (hot and cold), and a pandan waffle. I preferred the latte cold (smooth, creamy, delicate coffee flavor). The waffle was amazing, and only $5! Nice and crispy on the outside, but chewy and sweet inside. The texture reminded me of a mochi donut, except warm and buttery and crispy. --- Suggestions-- I wish that there were larger drink sizes available (12 oz in addition to 8oz) The cold latte had a looot of ice, so by the time I got near the end, it was pretty watered down. Even if it doesn't fill the whole cup, I would prefer to just have less ice instead. Also another suggestion.. I would love if they offered a tea or milk tea of some sort! And some savory food options. read more

This is now our go-to place for pandan waffles. Especially after covid shots for the kid. It's become a thing. Never disappoints! The coffee selections are also pro other choices of milk and still have not tried the flan, but it won't be long till we cross paths. I always feel like this place should have more footfall given the ambience and excellent service, and if it was in Bellevue folks would be all over it! read more

Stopped by for the first time today. This place lives up to all the positive reviews. The environment is nice and clean. Quick and courteous service. We ordered 2 cafe sua da, pandan waffle, and flan with coffee. The cafe sua da was positively exquisite . Perfect sweetness. The flan was also good. Perhaps, a tad too sweet for my palate. The best item was the pandan waffle. In fact, the best I have ever had. Hot, crunchy in the outside, and chewy inside. Not too sweet. Next time, I'm ordering more to take home. Have been meaning to visit for Vietnamese coffee for several weeks now and got a chance to take my sister who is visiting from Atlanta . It's a sweet cafe at 10th and Jackson. We had the classic Vietnamese coffee. The owner was working the counter and was super patient with all of our questions. He makes his own condensed milk which is probably why it thankfully wasn't as sweet as the canned version I'm used to using in cooking. You have to get the pandan waffles while you are here-vegan as well. A great mid morning snack while touring the ID or anytime really. Great selection of books to browse of Vietnamese writers and poets while sipping in the cafe. I will be back with friends. read more

This was my first time here. I asked for the least strong coffee and they recommended the yogurt coffee. It tastes exactly like what it sounds like, coffee flavored yogurt. For my taste, the coffee was a little too tart for my liking (2.5/5). I did get the pandan waffle too. It was freshly made; crispy on the outside and soft on the inside (5/5)! I definitely recommend getting this to pair with your coffee. Next time I might try a different drink and get the pandan waffle again. read more

Walked in the door and the guy behind the counter waved me away. I was confused so I said what do you mean he says we aren't serving. It was 9 am they were open but they just wouldn't serve me. I love the pandan waffle. I have tried both the original as well as the sesame and coconut version and whilst both are really delicious, I like the original one more. The iced Vietnamese coffee is delicious but my only complaint is they put too much ice in it. Overall I would really recommend this place though! read more

Was excited to see a Viet coffee shop pop up around here, but I wasn't super impressed by the coffee. We ordered the sua da and bac siu. While the flavors were there, both were very sweet and not the consistency we expected. I'm used to the traditional Viet coffee, where the consistency is nice and thick, but this is more like the usual watery coffee that you can get anywhere else. read more

Adding to the round of raves for Phin! They have a very petite menu (please expand with more Vietnamese treats!) but a great choice for breakfast/snack. We ordered both the hot and cold Vietnamese coffee and enjoyed chatting with the owner as he made our drinks with the phin filter. We enjoyed both but thought the hot coffee was the pick to click (first time I've had Vietnamese coffee hot - I usually think of it as a cold drink). Phin makes their condensed milk in-house and uses a blend of beans to create that Vietnamese flavor which is hard to find in the US (I've tried Ebay to get our favorite beans!). We also got a Vietnamese yogurt to bring home for my father who is a connoisseur. He didn't share but reported that it was great :) The owner was the only employee in the shop and he was double-masked and working with the door open for more ventilation. 5 stars. read more

Wow. I'm in love. Love the vibe of the shop. It's cozy and chic. The coffee is amazing. I've now tried the classic Vietnamese iced coffee and the yogurt coffee. Both delicious! My husband doesn't drink coffee and always finds something delicious to drink/eat and loves coming with me. Pro tip: visit on a Saturday morning so you can try the scones. I didn't think I liked scones until I tried these. Scones from @thedailyscone + coffee from Phin = chef's kiss. read more

This was a great experience, all around. We had the sua chua (coffee yogurt), and the bac siu (latte). Both were excellent and the owner gave us a free pandan waffle as he was about to close. I've never had anything quite like coffee yogurt, but the blend of flavors and slightly thicker consistency immediately won me over. We will definitely return to try more of the menu. Authentic Vietnamese coffee, amazing fresh squeezed orange juice, and soda chanh mui made with their own in house pickled lemons! Pandan waffles aren't like the other deli ones, I don't touch those because I'm not sure how old they are, but these are made fresh to order, crispy outside, soft chewy inside. You can't beat the freshness! And yes they practice sustainability with their shop, go small businesses go! read more

COVID takeout. Came here this morning for a special treat and caffeine boost. Street parking available, but if busy, may need to walk a tiny bit. I thought I had pre-ordered online, but come to find out that my order didn't go through. No matter...the kind barista was super fast and courteous. I ordered the pandam waffle and the Cà phê cốt dừa / coconut slush coffee. Took only 5mins or so and voila!, it was all ready for me! Pandam waffle was freshly made, toasty hot, crunchy outside, and chewy (like mochi chewy) inside. If you haven't had pandam before, it's what makes the waffle greenish with a coconuty/vanilla flavor. So incredibly delish. It's perforated in quarters, so super easy to demolish. As I walked back to my car, I already had chomped down on 1/4. So good. The coconut slush coffee was not too sweet, lightly coconuty, and super refreshing (um...technically my second espresso coffee of the morning). I am so glad I had the day off...perfect excuse to splurge on a special treat. Yum. Will definitely come back. read more

Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end.

I left 15% and honestly felt that was generous for what I received. At these prices, the food needs to be executed properly and the service needs to match. The chowder alone isn't enough to carry a $60+ meal. Would I come back? Maybe for a cup of chowder at the bar. Not for the full experience.

If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs.
