Officially my favorite Philz location. I've been here a few times and every time, the staff have been really friendly and accommodating. On my last visit - Friday afternoon roughly around 11am, I placed a mobile order and showed up a few minutes later. To my dismay, I saw that the estimated time of completion would be nearly an hour later... This must have been a mistake! They were limiting capacity and only allowing a certain amount of people inside at a time and so I waited my turn to speak with the cashier. She apologetically acknowledged that the time on the mobile order was correct. They are BUSY at this time and even a sign for ordering upon arrival indicated that the wait would be 15-20 minutes. She suggested that I place an order on site and that she would cancel my mobile order. I happily agreed. I was very appreciative of the solution. Drinks and food were ready in no time and tasted great as always. And note to self, check the estimated time of completion before placing an order!!! read more

Honestly I still don't know why I continually give this place a chance. Everrryyy single time my mint mojito always tastes different and never consistent. Half of the time I'm probably going ask to remake because it's that bad. I tried the rose one at the Cupertino location and it was amazing, and then I ordered it here and... Something is definitely wrong in this location. I love mocha tessaro and mint mojito and for the last 3 times they have been terrible. I did try to give the benefit of doubt but don't think will be coming here again. Fully opened with social distancing and masks enforced! It's been a minute since I've been in a Phil's coffee and was able to sit down and enjoy my coffee. This shop was very big and there was plenty of seating inside and outside. My go to is the mint mojito, sweet and creamy. We also got some tesora beans -$18/lb. The workers were very nice and helpful and the baristas were great. Drinks were spot on. However, one the restroom stalls was completely broken and gross.. Not a pleasant thing to see. The Philz's Campbell location is relatively new, but is a nice addition to the pruneyard area. My go to drink at Philz's is usually the mint mojito; but feeling adventurous, I ordered the gingersnap. It was creamy, with a hint of spice. Personally, I still prefer the mint mojito, but the gingersnap is definitely a welcomed change. :) will be back for more coffee at this location. Fyi- if you plan to work here, it can be quite noisy compared to other coffee places. But it's a great place to chill and hang out! read more

- weird layout - missing menu items - okay coffee I've heard many good things about Philz coffee, specifically from Emma Chamberlain, so I was excited to try out a Philz in SJ. I came in to this establishment on a Saturday after noon and it was a little busy. I thought having the menus hanging on the far right side of the restaurant around 20 feet away from the cashier was a weird choice. I wasn't able to see what coffee they were offering while waiting in line because the menu was so far away. When we looked at their virtual menu we noticed so many of the items were missing/unable to be ordered so the options were limited. Ended up getting the Philtered soal with medium oatmilk and light honeyed iced. It was decent, tasted a little watered down. Baja Fresh to Philz! Coo! Way more room than the one in cupertino plus has a food bar as well. Very friendly workers who explain the method to every third person who has never been to a Philz!! I've been ordering a different coffee mix each time I go lately. This location will put some competition on the Peets and Campbell coffee shop in the Pruneridge shopping center 150 feet across the street! I will return until I've tried one of everything! Ordered a coffee sweet and creamy, when I received my coffee it was barely warm, I asked the barista if she used hot water when making my coffee. I heard this location is fairly new, as it opened about a year ago? Not sure for how long... This location is so big with plenty of seating and free wifi as well! Its bigger than the one in Downtown SJ for sure. This was my first time at any Philz Coffee so when I walked in I was looking at the menu. I still wasn't ready and needed about 5 min to look around before I ordered. I felt like I was rushed even though I was the only one in line because the barista was welcoming me and was ready to take my order. But anyways I got the iced mojito coffee since everyone tries that one. People rave about it so much! However it is an additional $1 but I didn't mind... don't understand why its an extra dollar though. There are 2 sizes, a small and a large. It was a $1 difference but I didn't think I was going to finish a large so I got a small. I believe a small coffee costs $3.60 after tax but since I got the mojito, total came out to $4.60 instead. The baristas also ask you how sweet you want and how creamy. I didn't hear my barista the first time because she spoke so quick so I just said regular. After ordering, you actually go to another counter at the other side of the store to pay. I thought it was weird because the location in downtown doesn't do that... I got confused through the process too but keep in mind that I'm also a first timer! Cashier was nice as well. My coffee came out in less than 10 min. Not bad of a wait and I liked how some of the mint stuck out of the cup for aesthetics. At first sip, this iced coffee really is refreshing! I understand why people rave about it and talk about how its so good now! If I ever come back here, I'll probably order the mojito again or ask for some recommendations/popular coffees. COVID UPDATE: This location is still open and taking mobile orders! Download their app to order. I highly recommend ordering 20-30 mins before you would like because the pick-up slots might be unavailable. Their pick up area is located next the little cute outdoor place they had set up before COVID. It is technically where the "side door" is. The pick-up times are very accurate!! If anything, they have your drink ready 1-2 mins before your pick-up time. Also, they still have some pastries on the menu! I think it might depend on their supply. A few days ago, the only pastries they had were the Butter Croissant & Chocolate Croissant. Today, they had majority of their pastries including my all time favorite - Cinnamon Roll! One thing I'll say is kick ass about this location is they mostly always have food even until close! This is my new favorite Philz. 4 stars only because the parking lot has a few spaces. This is the best location with patio and outside seating, hot water in the bathrooms, clean bathrooms, ample seating with high tables, couches, long/big tables and a lot of chairs and outlets available-even outside! This location is beautiful to be at on a sunny day working outside on the wooden benches and umbrellas. They even have the light up heaters too. I just wish the parking lot was bigger but it shared with an US Bank on the other side. They only have so many 2 hour spots, 15 minute or mobile order/pickup spots right in front, or you would have to park elsewhere or in neighborhood. Staff are very friendly and nice here. read more

Okay, okay, I get it. I finally understand the Philz Coffee craze. Not growing up in the Bay Area, I didn't know that Philz even existed until I moved here. Then I came across so many people who would give me the response of "you haven't been to Philz?!" after disclosing that I hadn't. So finally, after so long, I decided to go... and now I get it. The South Bascom Philz has a parking lot, but it fills up pretty quickly. It corners by a neighborhood which you can find street parking on as well. I loved the feel of the coffee shop with plenty of seating and cute decor. They had a mobile-order pick up line on the left, which is great for on-the-go people. I ordered the mint mojito (sweet and creamy) because that is what everyone had recommended for my first time here. After ordering, I was a tad confused why I didn't pay right away, but took a seat at the bench until my drink was called. After picking it up, I followed the path to the register where I then paid for my drink. Interesting concept, but I liked it. It didn't feel rushed and I felt like I could take my time. The mint mojito was sweet and dreamy! I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but this was luscious. The mint wasn't overpowering, it was decadent from the cream, but not overly sweet as the coffee notes would come in to take it back from being sickeningly sweet. Overall, this drink was delicious and I can see why it's loved by so many. They had many drinks on their menu that I am excited to try. Can I first begin sharing that I have never liked Philz coffee from the time that I first visited due to a friend being hired at the Cupertino location soon after it first opened through painfully on occasion visiting the Los Gatos location due to friends while we were residing there. To me I just didn't get it, it tasted more like flavored water than coffee. And my friend tried to expose me to a variety of their menu assortment but they were all different favors added to the same water. In my opinion coffee was never the predominant taste. Enter today: I meet with a friend who I haven't seen in years at this location (his suggestion of course!). This place is truly outstanding. First of all I arrive at 10:30 and about 20 people are walking out the door with their coffee! Then the huge spacious dining room was very comfortable to be in and we walked right up to the counter as busy as they were and were greeted by Shane. My friend ordered one of those fancy drinks that is shown in the photo and I just asked for plain black coffee. Shane was picking up on the fact that I probably didn't really want plain black coffee but that I was being cautious and suggested "Filtered Soul". 5 Stars for Shane, 5 Stars for Filtered Soul, 5 Stars for the designer/architect who set up this place. We proceeded to the outdoor patio (which is also very nice), and I so enjoyed my 1st cup of Philz coffee. I'm so tired of this Philz being such crap. I work down the street so I naturally I go to this location. Every single time I'm disappointed. The service is slow because the workers are always talking and goofing off. I don't have a problem with them having fun at work but if there's a long ass line, you would think they would focus a little bit more to get things moving. They also screw up drinks all the time. When asking for a sweet enhancement to a drink, they don't do it. When asking for a plain coffee, it's sweeten. This Philz hella sucks and I'm tired of coming to this location. I have been here a few times already. Mostly using the Philz Coffee mobile app to get my coffee to go. If you're not using this, and you frequent any Philz establishment, then you should be. Even if you want to drink your coffee in the shop, it's extremely convenient to have your coffee ready when you get there. In typical Philz phashion.......uhm, I mean fashion..... the coffee is great! As I said in previous reviews, Philz will turn you into a coffee snob. That doesn't mean you'll only stick to Philz. But, it'll make you want to go to any other coffee place besides the big chains. If you're a newbie to Philz, of course get the Mint Mojito. If you don't like mint, I'd go with the Ecstatic or Silken Splendor. For the Mint Mojito, it's typically an iced drink, but I usually get all 3 iced and made "sweet and creamy" which refers to how sweet you want it and how much cream to put in it (you can get it medium or light and also picked from different sugars or milk). If you like hot drinks, I'd go with the Tesora. Better yet, do what I did and just try the entire menu.......... over time, of course. LOL! In 1 other Philz location, I sometimes find the quality inconsistent. One day the sweetness and creaminess is perfect and the next day it's light sweetness and creaminess even though I ordered it the same way. Over here, I've been here maybe 5 or 6 times and it's always great! Also, the service is fantastic! Always a greeting and always a "have a good day" or something of that nature. Because this location is so close to the freeway, it's always bustlin'. That means the parking lot can be crazy, at times. But, one thing I do like is that they actually have 3 spots that are reserved for mobile orders. This is the Campbell edition of the philz coffee chain, and it's pretty awesome. They have their own parking lot which while being very busy-this is across from the pruneyards after all- will usually have a space in it somewhere. This is a more boxy then usual location-suburbia yo-with the least comfortable seating of any philz that I've been to. This does not mean it's bad, but does mean it's long on modern ikea ish pastel table/chair combos and short on benches and loungy chairs. For me I enjoy the window counter seating best. The ordering system is the same-stand in on line to place coffee order, stand in another to pay and get food, but this is clearly visible from the entrance and is somewhat less confusing for new visitors then other locations. The coffee is the same pure delightful goodness (dancing water for the win!) that philz is known for and the pastries are mid range. Note that they do not do the whole latte/Frappuccino drink thing, but what they do o is exceptional more basic coffee. The main difference between philz locations is not the coffee-they make that very consistent-but the food. Here it's not top tier, but not bottom either. The service is as good as it gets within the limitations of the two line system. All in all this spot has all the coffee awesome that you could want. read more

This Philz is a nice location! It's spacious and has a nice modernized look to it. It's great to see a Philz coffee shop that is alone on it's own rather than part of a shopping plaza. Although it looks like an old McDonald's location, they did a great job masking the whole building to make it a coffee shop. The parking is odd and limited but there is street neighborhood parking!
