What a vibe Philz is! I recently ordered the Mint Mojito through DoorDash and have been craving it ever since. There aren't many locations in my area, so while I was in Campbell, I decided to stop by and I'm so glad I did! The place is a little chatty, but that doesn't bother me one bit. It's big, colorful, and has plenty of seating whether you're coming solo, on a date, or with a group. Vince was amazing! His kindness and knowledge alone would have me coming back. He even walked my veggie bites right over to me. Donovan asked if I needed adjustments and made sure my drink was to my liking. Wonderful customer service all the way around! Let me start by saying that Philz is one of my favorite coffee shops. I used to get it almost every day before work, but unfortunately, this location has gone from being great 1-2 years ago, to inconsistent, to now being consistently bad. I am genuinely disappointed by my coffee almost every time I visit. If it's really bad to the point that I can't drink it, I'll ask for a remake, but a lot of the time I don't have the extra time to wait for them to make another one. It's incredibly frustrating because I can go to the Los Gatos, Willow Glen, or Castro Valley locations and consistently get a great coffee. It doesn't seem to matter what I order or whether it's something from the regular menu or a seasonal drink, the quality at this location just isn't there. What makes it even more frustrating is that this is the Philz location closest to my house, so I genuinely want to be able to enjoy it. I don't know if it's an issue with training, consistency, or something else, but I really hope management looks into it because something clearly isn't working. I was actually talking to a friend who used to love Philz as much as I do, and she said she doesn't enjoy it anymore either. Then we realized that whenever she gets Philz in the East Bay, it's noticeably better. I really hope this location can get back to the quality Philz is known for because I would love nothing more than to be able to regularly get good coffee from the location right by my house. I'm honestly sorry to have to leave such a negative review because I really do love Philz, but at this point, someone needs to say something. Then today was really the final straw. The coffee was so bad that neither of us could drink it, so I called the store and asked for a refund. I had just spent $15 on two cups of coffee that we were ultimately going to throw away, so I didn't think it was unreasonable to ask for a refund. I come here 4-5 times a week. What other Yelpers have mentioned resonates about how busy this location is, friendly staff, cups that might be wet/sticky outside, parking lot busy, etc. I do wish that Philz can change their cups at some point, because if you leave an ice tea in a cup for a couple hours, the cup starts to melt... Yet, this is the one location where I always see our public safety professionals hanging out at: police, fire safety, nurses, etc. Kudos for taking care of those that take care of us! I've had Philz since 2016 when it was only in San Francisco. We finally gave it up because we realized we're paying six dollars+ for a cup of coffee. Just because somebody makes it fresh and adds the cream and stirs it for you doesn't mean you're not getting ripped off. And honestly, the coffee was never really that consistent. We'd get the Tesorsa and it was good and the next time we come, it wouldn't be very good at all. We also did the Chai a lot, and that was wildly inconsistent. Some days it would be bitter and awful and other days it would be delicious. So to conclude, not consistent, not worth it. And one more thing that I have to say is that the food was very, very mediocre from the very beginning. read more

As a longtime Philz customer, I'm pretty boring and always get the Mint Mojito, light-sweet & creamy with oat milk + a plant powered sandwich. I needed a little pick me up in the late afternoon and decided to stop by after work. The iced coffee rosé was delicious! It was creamy and the coffee was strong, it definitely gave me a pep in my step after! The service was excellent. Thank you to the barista for making a couple of suggestions. This looks to be a busy spot so there was no luck finding a spot to sit. It's a bit too noisy and overcrowded for my liking so its best for pickup and go. I also tried a pastry, the bacon onion pretzel crossiant. I would probably skip this next time, it was dry and I wasn't picking up on any of the bacony-onion flavor. This review doesn't need to be very long because I simply love Philz Coffee. I'm not a fan of a more popular chain store that seems to be on every corner because all I can taste is burnt coffee and sugar when I find myself with no other caffeine options unless I'm willing to drive out of my way. Truth be told, I'll stop by Philz on my way to work even though it actually IS out of my way. The Campbell Philz is great for doing homework too. I find myself here when I have a laundry list of computer work to do. You'll typically find ample seating and as much table top as you can handle, as long as you are not going during peak hours. Let's face it, it's still a metropolitan area. Peak hours are going to be a nightmare, regardless of where you go, unless you are finding a diamond off the beaten path. The only thing keeping this store from being absolute perfection is the wait when it's busy. It can be a bit frustrating, but the customer service is always en pointe. Period. I hope I don't jinx myself, but I've never needed them to remake my order. They get it right EVERY time. My order is always a large Honey Haze, less sweet, extra creamy. I usually accompany it with whatever pastry strikes my fancy that day. One day, maybe I'll be brave and try something new, but I just don't know how to quit my tried and true. read more

8-6-26 Today I was really looking forward to trying your coffee shop after hearing so many great things. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I came in around 3:30 p.m., and I was repeatedly sent back and forth between employees just to place a simple order. One employee told me to go to another register, and that employee sent me right back. Meanwhile, I was standing there waiting while everyone seemed to ignore me. I have a broken leg and was clearly wearing a walking boot and limping. Not one person offered to help or took the initiative to take my order. I eventually left without buying anything because I felt ignored and disrespected. I rarely complain or leave negative reviews because I know everyone has bad days, but this experience was upsetting. I hope you can use this as an opportunity to remind your staff that good customer service is just as important as good coffee. read more

Just moved nearby and have been slowly trying all the places walking distance. My experience at Philz is not how you want to start your morning. I ordered two drinks, a burrito and a jalapeño bagel. There was 1 person in front of me in line. Waited 20 minutes for my order to be ready. The order was all correct except they gave me an everything bagel instead. Maybe this is my bad for phrasing it this way but I said " I meant to order a jalapeño bagel ". I should have said "this is wrong, I ordered a different bagel." Regardless the woman on the food station looked at me and argumentatively said "well I'll have to talk to my manager about that".... Like okay sure? She proceeds to have (what felt like a 5 min) whisper convo with her manager and when I went over to where they were, they stopped talking. She walked me back over to the register and said "you'll have to order a new bagel and then we'll have to refund you the old one" as if it was a huge ordeal. I complete that with who I assume is the manager who didn't say much to me and then the initial woman puts the bagel on the counter without even looking at me. I said "thank you!" And was completely ignored. 2 things. 1, I worked as a barista in multiple locations including Starbucks. We were always trained to be on the lookout if someone is unsatisfied or an order was wrong. We were trained to remake it and make that situation right. Definitely not make the customer feel like they bothered you in some way. 2, an "I'm so sorry about that!" Or "Thank you for your patience" or "thanks, have a wonderful day!" Goes a long way!! I'd understand if it was crazy busy. Honestly I get it, pleasantries take a back seat when in a rush. However, there was only 1 person in front of me and no one behind. Can't say how the food or drinks are cus I've been too busy writing this down to try it! I swung by this Philz location this morning. I ordered a decaf iced mint mojito sweet and creamy! It was the bomb! My favorite drink hands down! For our food, we ordered an everything bagel. Always a staple stop in CA, this place was PACKED and pretty loud! We quickly separated to find a few spots to sit and then get in line. The line probably took about 10 minutes to order then another 10 minutes to actually get our coffees. Honestly I do love the uniqueness of Philz drinks and their pastries (which could be a bit bigger for the price point) but waiting 20 minutes for my drink wasn't worth it. This has been my go-to Philz over the last year. Close to the Pruneyard, has the occasional TGTG offers, and easy spot to pick up a few bags of ground coffee for my Aeropress without the wait. Mobile app ordering is still around the same speed as other locations. There's a fair amount of seating inside and outside, parking in the lot and street, and a decent selection of bags. Not too loud, not too quiet. I have tried nearly every bag of beans available including seasonal flavors and my go-tos are the Ecstatic for iced drinks and Silken Splendor for hot. The only one I really do not like is the Jacob's Wonderbar --- odd smoky acidic flavor. Not really a fan of fruity acidic notes in coffee in general. As for in-store drink orders, I'll always get a Mint Mojito (they use ecstatic at this store, some use tesora-- ask your barista if you're curious). read more

I came on a Sunday morning with my mom and sister. This place is busy and they're slow. You do have the option to mobile order ahead via the app. We waited 20+ minutes after we placed our order. I got the Large Philtered Soul light sweet and light cream ($5.95), my mom got the Large Silken Splendor ($5.95), and my sister got the Large Mint Mojito ($6.95). These drinks are strong as I was jittery all day. Great caffeine boost when you know what you're getting yourself into. Next time I'll get mine Philz Way (medium cream and medium sweet) as my Philtered Soul wasn't that great. It's what I get for trying to be healthy lol. Ambiance is really nice and bustling. Both staff members I interacted with were awesome--friendly, patient, informative. Coffee was great. I had to take off a star because I'm bummed to have a coffee "for here" in a paper cup with a sticker on it. It feels wasteful and is not as nice to drink from. Please bring back actual mugs, like in your logo. I appreciate the response to my review. I sincerely hope you consider bringing back actual mugs/cups for in-store beverages. I order from here pretty often. usually a green tea or a mint mojito. The problem is, every time I order a green tea online, I get told when I show up that it's not available. If it's discontinued, then please remove it from the online menu. This has happened multiple times now and it's frustrating. This last visit, since green tea wasn't prepared (again), I asked for a mint mojito. I asked Romy (or Rony or whatever) if the green tea had been discontinued, and she said yes, that the system just needs to be updated. She then asked me what else I wanted, and I told her a mojito. If this was going to be an additional charge because it's a different drink, she should've mentioned it. I would've gladly chosen something else or paid the extra instead of ending up with what I got. She took my order, smiled, and handed me my drink. But when I got home and started drinking it, I realized it was full of mint leaves. Not the normal garnish, not a few extra. an actual handful of mint stuffed into a medium cup. it was most definitely intentional and pretty messed up on a Wednesday at 9am..must've been really personal. I come here often and I don't usually complain, but this kind of service is BS. Please update the online menu and make sure drinks are made properly with less pettiness. I love this place because my siblings and three year old niece love it :) I'm from Ventura County and we don't have a Philz yet so I get my fix when I visit SJ/SF every 8 weeks or so. Let me tell you: my family goes every freakin day! My brother buys the bulk coffee and makes some for me at his house (get the cookies from Gunther's to go with it... you'll thank me). In store, I love the mojito and the rose. Staff is always nice and love the open set up of the shop. Please don't ever get rid of the pumpkin bread because my niece is a little hyena when it comes to those things. Whenever we pass by in the car she says "lesss get a sip!"
