I needed my bridesmaid dress hemmed last minute and was worried I would out of luck since most tailors let me know they needed at least a few days to a week. I brought the dress to 30 minutes alterations to see if it was possible by next day and Amie was so reassuring! In fact, they got the dress to me same day! (10:30am to 5pm turnaround). I was more than thrilled. Prices were very reasonable in my opinion and you could tell Amie's skill level was up to par when it only took her minutes to mark my dress for hemming. My sister took her dress on a Wednesday to get altered and was told it would be ready by July 2nd at 2pm. She drives there to pick it up and they are closed. She called multiple times and no one answered. She called a different number and they finally answered but the owner said they were closed for the holiday weekend and was in CALIFORNIA so there was no way for her to get her the dress. The owner proceeded to say they have "every right to close for the holiday weekend" which yes that's fine it's your business you deserve to do what you like. Except they promised my sister this dress and that it would be ready by July 2nd, Saturday, at 2pm. My sister's event is July 2nd at 4:30pm yet they closed without telling her and they swore they texted her but she received no text OR CALL saying her dress was ready before or that they were going to close. To the owners, be more organized and respectful towards peoples time since they are paying for a service AND make accommodations for your mistake. Be responsible and handle your business the professional way. I definitely do not recommend this place. If someone is told their dress is going to be ready at a specific date and time, please follow through with your word. It's annoying you keep saying "we have every right to close for holiday weekend" because no one is coming at you for closing. It's you being unprofessional and irresponsible and closing knowing damn well someone is coming to pick up a dress for their event OF THE SAME DAY. Because of you not being reliable, she was going to miss an important event that clearly you didn't care about. You are giving her the dress 15 minutes before she has to be at her event. This has set her back and ruined the plans she had. And I wish I would try to keep the dress she paid money for. It's not her fault you guys are irresponsible and can't follow through with your word. That is why I wrote my review. Because your vacation mattered more than the commitment you made to a customer. Thank you very much. read more

Very happy with my experience with 30 min alterations! Here's how it all went down: Found them on Yelp after I found out I have a Thursday morning work meeting that requires business professional attire. Called yesterday, 3pm Tuesday afternoon, asking if they can hemm a pair of slacks and have them ready by Wednesday afternoon. They said yes! Sweet! Went into my closet when I got home, grabbed the slacks, & then also grabbed 3 other pair of pants I'd been needing to get hemmed but was being lazy about. Dropped them off at 4pm Tuesday & today, Wednesday at 2pm I got a text that my order was ready for pick up. YAY. I just picked them up and was in a rush so didn't have time to try on pants. Just got home & all 4 pats are completely hemmed to perfection!!!! My emergency slacks were hemmed and lined! Happy results & service. :) read more

Needed a pair of yoga pants hemmed. Gave them a call to check availability, dropped them off and they were done in just a few hours. One side is a little shorter than the other, so I just recommend you get both sides of your clothes measured opposed to one side and just matching it! Awesome service! I took my daughters prom dress in for alterations. It was last minute and Amy accommodated. I took the dress in late Thursday and it was ready by Saturday. The seamstress added beautiful strings to the dress which were not there originally. She exceeded my expectations. Because of the rush factor to get to the dance, my daughter couldn't come for a final fit but Amy offered that she could come back anyway if she needed too. This experience was the exact opposite of the first. Referred my daughter for her wedding dress and every area that they altered was horrible. The petticoat was bunched together and mended like that causing a bulge in the dress, the hem was done from the middle and left a flap around the dress, the straps were not straight causing them to buckle ...........Amy (owner?) did not apologize, she actually gave me a hard time about being upset and told us to leave it to be repaired. She was aware the dress had a dry cleaners appointment and anyway there was no way her "seamstress" (term loosely) was going to touch this dress again. De Novo Dress Shop did a fabulous job of repairing and redoing at half the price, Amy will not refund the half down and still believes it is no biggie, a wedding dress two weeks before the big day! read more

Great quality work that was done on time. I'm a little unsure about whether the price is fair. I need to do more shopping around to compare. From what I remember it was $50 to alter a bridesmaids dress that had two layers of chiffon/polyester type fabric. It was $10 to hem single-layer work pants. Is this about the price you'd expect? This store is kinda cute. Reminds me of an old Shanghai seamstress store. No credit or debit, cash only (not a small amount of cash either mind you).. and it's definitely not going to take only 30 minutes. The experience is still kinda fun (I don't often get pants hemmed), and it felt like being in a bygone era. The lady that works there is very sweet. And hard of hearing...and possibly may or may not have spoken english (one can't tell what she says). I would still go back and support her though. Amazing! I've been to a few places to have alterations done, but I've just found my "go to". Amie was extremely friendly and very helpful. The woman who did the alterations was all smiles as well. Overall a very comfortable place to walk into. Walked in at about noon and my alteration was finished before 6. Very straight forward pricing and no surprises. I called at 2 PM this past Saturday 7/23/16. Asked if I could have my new jeans hemmed today. The lady told me yes but they closed at 4PM, and to bring the shoes I was going to wear with the pants. I left my home in Laveen drove to this location which was closer to my work. I paid for the jeans to be hemmed within the 30 mins. The price was excellent. This lady was so wonderful she had my pants done in 15 mins. I tried them on and it was perfect the thread matched the other stitching. I will be back. I am so please! Amie and her staff are miracle workers! I ordered a dress online for graduation photos and when it arrived it was too big. Of course, it arrived just one day before my graduation photos were to be taken. I couldn't come in until the day of my photos, at 3pm. I didn't have to wait at all to get fitted and asked if it was possible to have the dress done by 4:30pm. They were able to get it done by 4pm with a very small rush charge compared to what I was expecting for my ridiculous request. I was really pleased with the service I received here. The place was not busy at all there was absolutely no wait. I happened to drive by this location on my way to work so I decided to stop in because I needed a pair of slacks for work to be fixed. There was a big rip in the front because I've been eating cookies and honey buns as if I'm untouchable and sat down a little too fast with my extra inches causing a rip. I walked in and I showed the woman at the counter my pants that I needed repaired. She said no problem and told me the price and said I could pick them up tomorrow. This was perfect because I really didn't want to have to wait a week or so and I didn't think they could finish them that fast. I came back the next day to pick up my parents and they were ready. Not to mention when I drop them off to her they were fresh out of the laundry and iron and very wrinkled. When she returned them to me she showed me where she repaired the roof and it looked perfect. She also press them out for me and they were ready to wear. I really appreciated that extra service as well as the timely fashion I got my pants back in. I just wanted a simple dry cleaning done but it took too long. We took my husbands suit and the first time they tried to give us the suit, his white shirt had black scuff marks that were not there when we first dropped off the suit. Called in before arriving to get pricing and was told that my alteration would be $25-$35. They got me in very fast and finished the alteration quickly, however I was charged $72. I asked why it would cost me so much more than they usually charge and was told they had to do special alterations. If I had had more time to get the alterations done before leaving town I would have taken my business to another, cheaper location. The work was quality and the timing was excellent but the price caught me by surprise. Would rate higher if they stuck closely to the pricing they promised. read more
