Amie, the manager/owner, offered the most disrespectful and unkind treatment I have ever encountered at a small business. She does not care about good quality repairs or about speedy alterations; she cares about getting every last dollar she can scrounge, with absolutely no concern for the customer. When I first moved to the neighborhood, I made a point to go to 30-min, introduce myself to Amie, thank her in advance for the work, and showed her the respect that I think every customer should show a small business owner. I dropped off several items to be dry cleaned and several to be altered. The pant hemming and shirt hemming were fine, though they took 3 days (even though I paid for expedited service). There is no such thing as 30-minute alterations at this business. Both dry cleaning and alterations take at least one day. Still, that did not deter me from coming back, because I think it's important to give everybody a chance. Next, I brought in a dress that needed to be taken in at the waist. When I went back to pick it up, Amie happened to be out. The elderly woman who I usually saw working in the back came to the front to help me. She was very kind. She apologized that it took longer than promised, and told me that Amie "always tells the customers 1 day but we need more like 1 week." Amie is obviously overworking and mistreating her employees - an elderly woman at that! The inhumanity is absolutely disgusting. Anyway, I rushed out and tried the dress on at home because I literally had to leave town immediately after. When I tried it on, I saw that it had been taken in at the hips (not at the waist), and was completely mangled and twisted. It looked horrible. Amie texted: "How did it fit?" I said, "I know you guys did your best, but unfortunately this is unwearable." I made a point to try to be reasonable and not blame her for it. When I came in (after the wedding, which I had to wear an old dress to) to ask them to remove the botched repairs. I came in with a smile on my face, still completely determined to allow them to make up for the mistake by fixing it and not making me pay. My smile turned upside down when I realized how Amie treated the issue. She did not apologize, she did not express regret, and she did not care. Worst of all: she made me pay full price for the alteration and the expedition for a piece that was done neither correctly nor on time. 40 dollars wasted for a dress I didn't even get to wear. She simply said, "I already paid my seamstress so you need to pay me." I believe she was referring to the elderly woman in the back of the room who she obviously mistreats. I will never, ever go back and I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I have a wedding in London coming up and I could not decide what to wear between two dresses that I bought. One was safe and honestly boring, but it fit great, the other one was way more trendy, but it didn't fit right. I was ready to return the fun, perfect (but ill fitting) dress. But then I found this place. A few stitches and seams later (within 20mins of my arrival) I'm thrilled to be able to go with my gut and be able to wear the dress I wanted to choose. It could not have happened without this company. The Tailor was professional and explained to me what she would do to my dress to make it exactly how I wanted and to get rid of the flaws. Stop what you're doing and just come here! I can promise you no one else in these reviews uses dry cleaning or alteration services more than I do. The lady there is one of the nicest ppl you'll meet. literally walked and showed me all my options when came to altering my pants. Did a great job with my coat considering the time crunch. I had a last minute interview and went to multiple places hoping to get my coat altered only to be told it would be a few days before my coat would be ready. 30 minute alterations had it ready within an hour! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am particularly picky about my clothes -- especially when it comes to getting my suits tailored. A friend recommended that I try this shop out, and I could not be more happy. Not only does the owner understand why I want things tapered or shortened, she knows how to do it correctly. As opposed to having to guide the seamstress and explain why I like things done in certain ways (like I've done in the past at other places), she instinctively knows what I'm looking for and why I'm looking for that type of fit. On top of it all, they finish the job when they say they'll finish it. I have never had an issue with picking up a piece of clothing when they say it'll be ready. You will pay a little bit more here than your average shop, but their consistency, experience, and craftsmanship make them worth every penny. read more

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!!!! I dropped off a dress for hemming on a Friday and requested to pick up the dress the following Friday - ONE WEEK LATER. I arrived one week later and my dress was not done - it hadn't even been started yet!!! The girl at the front desk was incredibly rude and tried to insinuate that it was somehow my fault. She even suggested that I was "early", since I arrived at 4:45pm instead of 5pm, to which I replied that I brought in the dress a week prior!!! Then she tried to say that they had electrical problems earlier in the week and that was the reason. She was so rude and never really apologized for the situation. I had to sit and wait for my dress to be finished . I will NEVER come here again. I'm not sure why this business has so many good reviews - that was not my experience at all. Update: The reply to my review is just further evidence that this business owner is not willing to take responsibility for their actions. The reason I said it was "fine" and I left is because I was so angry with the way I was treated, I didn't want to spend another minute in this shop. The fact that this business owner is still insinuating that I "only had to wait ten minutes" after leaving my dress there for a week is just further evidence of their lack of customer service and professionalism. The fact of the matter is they hadn't even started on my dress until I walked in at 4:45pm on the day it was due and they had my dress for a week. Thank goodness I only needed it hemmed and no further alterations were required, otherwise it would have been disastrous (given that I needed the dress for a wedding this weekend). A courtesy phone call should have been made to let me know the dress would not be ready. In fact, they had several customers come in that they had to turn away because their items were not ready. All in all, this business owner would be better off admitting they were at fault instead of trying to blame the customer. read more

For the last 8 years I've had to move around a lot for my job, so I've used quite a few dry cleaners in various states. 30 Minute alterations really sets the bar for service. Not just for dry cleaning, but genuine customer service in every capacity. They consistently finish a day earlier than stated (texting you when completed), do a thorough job and even know their customers by name. I'm flying to Miami on Monday and wasn't sure they would be able to do it within 2 hours of them closing on a Saturday but they came through. I've been happy with the alteration work they do at this location, but I really wish they would call or text and let you know if your work will not be done on time. I keep fighting rush hour traffic to get there, just to find out that it did not get done. To make matters worse, if I try to confirm, they never answer the phone. It just takes messages and they don't call back on requests to call you back. So sad because they do good work. read more

I was disappointed with this place. I brought in a sweater that needed a few minor stitches. I thought I'd drop it off at lunchtime figuring I would then pick it up after work - hence the 30 minute alterations. Instead I was told it would take a week to do. I said fine and came back a week later and they forgot to work on my sweater. I then had to come back two days later and finally got my sweater. No discount given for having me run around for nothing, pathetic apology "We were so busy." Never using them again. read more

I had an amazing experience with 30 Minute Alterations & Cleaning. I have had two items altered by them: first my classic 60's Turkish leather jacket and more recently high-end denim jeans. On the jacket i had my zipper replaced and the jeans were altered for a more snug fit. Both projects were done in less than 30 minutes and in both items fit perfectly. Awesome West Tempe place to get alterations and cleaning done! My boyfriend's suit was $12, and I got the waist taken in on a pair of pants for $20. Both items were done in 24 hours. My pants look great now! I'm disappointed about the fact that the guy that was involved in assessing the situation on my wgite, tunic top didn't listen to me nor did he approach with the best business sense meaning if he couldn't satisfactorily do the job he should have been honest, and not charged me $26.00 to remove fabric from my tunic and ultimately leave me in same situation. He should have been more concerned with repeat business. He supposedly altered my Mom's dress, but barely any changes noted - second return, improvement noted. Finally, if there's NO language barrier while taking my money don't use as an excuse when you fall short of job! We will not be returning:-( read more

Moved to Arizona about a year ago. Found this cleaners on YELP and decided to give it a shot bc it was close to where I live. I've been going to this cleaners since I moved out here bc I couldn't seem to find one closer. Aimee, the owner is super friendly & a wonderful person but I wanted to set personalities aside on this one and instead focus on the service. I don't get a ton of dry cleaning done and when I do it's only just a shirt and pair of suit pants. There's been a handful of times out of the 10-12 times I've gone where I arrived with my ticket to pick up on the day I was informed the items would be ready.. several times I was asked to come back the next day bc they weren't ready. There is a gentleman who handles the daily operations at this location. I dropped the same items off on Thursday and was very verbal in confirming with the guy that they would be ready for pickup on Saturday as I had an event I needed them for. He assured me 'yeah yeah that's ok definitely!' I went in on Saturday with t ticket and the guy said he didn't tell me that it would be ready on Saturday and that it was out of their store until Monday. I finally reached my boiling point with this place this week. I dropped the same two items off; I only have one dress shirt and one suit pant that fits. I dropped these off on Tuesday and was told they would be ready for pick on Wednesday morning. I had an interview that evening. I walk in and it's the same guy and I give him my ticket. He looks for 5 minutes then says he can't find it and asks me to go look. I looked and nothing.. while looking, he asked me no less than 6 times if I licked the items up and maybe forgot. he called the owner and informed her of the problem. She assured us they were there. She responded out, checked the same racks we already checked and asked for two hours to try and track the items down saying the company who does their cleaning was positive they dropped them off. She said they could possible have given them to someone else. Two hours later Aimee calls saying the items are lost and that she will reimburse me for the items once I replace them. I then had to travel to chandler and to another store in north Scottsdale to attempt to track down the same two items; the pants are a part of a three piece suit which now does not match.. so at this point I'm out the time spent driving and finding clothes that fit, gasoline, money fronted to buy the items, and then time spent driving back to the cleaners to get a check from her. Once I returned, she didn't apologize instead simply said 'hey I cut you this.. let me know f the items turn up!' As if I picked the items up and forgot.. the big clue that I did not is that I STILL had the ticket they give and collect on dry cleaning. Had I not had and kept my ticket they would have screwed me. ***UPDATE: received a text on 9/16 advising my cleaning was located. I responded to the location the following day on 9/17.. it's been over two weeks since the items were suppose to be ready/have been lost. The cleaning was brought out to me and I was advised I hadn't paid for the items and would need to pay for the leaning of the items if I wanted them.. I cannot believe the horrendous customer service this establishment has provided. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!! I have since switched to PERMA CLEAN and they are super friendly and do an exceptional job AND they are half the price of this cleaners. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!! read more

Feel like such a sucker... needed sleeves shortened 3/4 inch, and asked if they could do it with the fake-button stitching (which is one reason I chose to buy this jacket) and they said "yes". Unfortunately they TOOK OUT ALL THE STITCHING. I was so looking forward to my new jacket, and now feel it is ruined. It's now just another average, well fitting jacket. If you have a simple alteration, like a hem, the prices are competitive here. If you have a nice garment that needs tailoring, pay a little more and choose another place. The problem I have is, they misled me to gain my business and to me, that is EVERYTHING. I was actually at another tailor prior, and they explained the stitching would be taken out, and I said, "thank you, but I like the stitching", (and they understood) and I then went to this place, only to have them mislead me saying they could do it with the stitching. Ugh... a beautiful garment ruined. When I complained, there was nothing they could do, obviously. No apology, not even an offer of a refund. (it crossed my mind to offer to leave the $425 jacket if they'll refund my $33). I would recommend Wong's Tailor Shop in Old Town Scottsdale. They're honest merchants and prices are even better. So bummed. I will likely never wear this jacket, it has left such a bad taste in my mouth. Anyone want a jacket? (no fake-button stitching, sorry!) I'm going to work extra to save and buy another jacket but next time, I'll get the alterations done elsewhere. So disappointed. read more

This place amazing is their service, and customer service. My wife wears men's jeans and, needed them to be tailored. This is the only place that was able to tailor them the way she wanted. They closed at 7 p.m. We took the jeans at 4p.m and, we are able to pick them up the same day before 6 for just $5 more. read more

I won't be returning. I brought 2 pairs of pants in to be hemmed. I was told when I could pick them up. I returned to pick them up. They were not ready. They rushed to do the hem job. They were not right on one pair so I asked them to redo. They made excuses and wrote me an email saying that the shoes I brought in 5 days before were not the same I used to try on the pants that day. Why did that matter since they had done no work on them between the time I went there before and the day I tried to pick them up? My answer: it did not matter. The one lady didn't even pin the hem before sewing when I tried them on. I had to suggest to her that she might want to do that so the hem would be correct. There is also a steep language barrier here. I love other cultures but I also need my service that I'm paying for to be correct. read more

I only mark it as a one star because it wouldn't allow me to mark less. I brought in my mother of the bride dress to get a corset and the arms let out. After the second fitting the arms fit and the corset was to big, so they stated they would cut the corset to fit and would hem the dress, with a new total of $150 from the $85. When I went back for the final fitting 8 pm Saturday the corset was missing and a minimum speaking seamstress was all I had to deal with, I asked her where was the corset, she said 'to big, a lot of work', it fit, what!, i paid for a corset. I told her I will pay for it but tell Amy I'll call her when I get back. I went to my daughters wedding and had to hold the dress up in order to walk and the look I was going for didn't happen. Amy and I text back and forth and she agreed to hem the dress, what about the corset, well it didn't fit so we put in a new zipper, 'I paid for a corset', she was very reluctant to give a refund for a job not done. I don't know about their world but you don't get a rewind on a big days event. I contacted 'let joe know', and Joan contacted them and was told basically the same thing except that I could come back and they would hem it for me for the second time, Um what about the first time! So in closing Joan also told me I could go up to the shop and get the material from the hem and the corset. I just left and Ms. Amy said she would have to find it if she even has it, um! Finally, I have plenty of money to give to more deserving small businesses then to put up with such substandard service. read more

I brought a dress in to be hemmed for an event. They had not finished it when I went to pick it up and told me they would call me when it was done. I called towards the end of the day and they told me they couldn't find my dress. I went there shortly after, about an hour from my event, to search for it. The dress was found balled up and not touched since I dropped it off. read more
