Lee's Tailoring has always been my go-to and 5-star. However, it wasn't until recently that I noticed a slight quality change... for the worse. I am not sure if it was because of burnout or just overwhelming amount of business...but I am sensing a decline in service and quality. With its reputation in the area, I was expecting more and higher standards. With my recent experiences, my drop off to pick up time was a week, but yet, they still missed one of the spots I needed them to sew on my gown. The other time, the length of my sleeves were uneven but they said there's nothing they could do to fix it. I'm disappointed, hence the four stars this time. I hope it's just a short period of low and they don't get even lower than this. read more

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I called in to let them know I wanted to come in to get my dress altered. I expressed that I was looking to get an estimate and timeline of when they can do it. The lady on the phone was very nice and told me to come in and they can provide an estimate. When I arrived, I put on my dress and let the owner know how I wanted it altered. She quoted me $85 for two weeks which is reasonable. When I asked if she can tighten around the hips more to give a mermaid fit she said it would be $150. I let her know I have another appointment with a tailor so I would be back after getting that quote. She immediately got frustrated and told me I shouldn't have come or wasted her time if I didn't intend to get the service done there. I explained to her when I called in I specifically asked for an estimate and timeline and was told to come in anyways. I wouldn't say she is a bad tailor but the customer service was horrible. The fact that she yelled at me when I told her that I was getting another estimate before moving forward was inappropriate. She told me not to come back. I was very nice the entire time and respectful. So the energy did not match. All that to say, only go here if you are willing to accept bad customer service and agree to whatever price she gives you. read more

This spring, they tailored two dresses for my teenage daughter--her prom dress and her graduation dress. Did I mention they're special? Lee's did a beautiful job on both dresses. The alterations on the prom dress weren't too simple, especially since the gown is beaded. They took it in in two places (my daughter is tiny) and removed the straps and re-attached them in a better spot. Flawless. When they were done, it looked like she was born to wear the dress. I might have cried a tiny bit. It's her last prom. They cut off and hemmed the dress she's wearing under her graduation gown. Again, beautiful work. I had a great experience. Brought in two pairs of men's pants for hemming and taking in. Excellent attention to detail. I asked for one pair to be very slightly shorter than the other when dropping off and got a call from the woman who was making the changes. She noticed that one pair of pants was 1/4 inch different than the other and wanted to be sure that's what I wanted. She clearly cares about the quality of her work and the customer. The pants came out hemmed perfectly. The pants that were taken in were done with balance so the pockets in the back look normal and you can't tell that the pants were taken in. This was the worst experiences been through for while The owner was extremely rude, she made the error in measurements of our pants, not only she refused to acknowledge her error, apologize and fix the issue She would made unprofessional comments, blame me as a customer, and almost wants to double charge again, tell people don t come back- this is new to me in America.. Awful! Damaged new prom dress. They snagged it in 4 places along the back. They told me that's just what happens with that fabric. The section they snagged wasn't even the part they were working on. Their was also a stain. We had taken pictures when they were pinning the dress. You can see in the photos there was no damage. At pick up all of a sudden it was all snagged and had a stain. My regular tailor shop closet and oh no, I had to find another place to go and fast! I had two pairs of pants that needed tailoring. Luckily I found Lee's tailoring that had great reviews and it's close to home. One pair was a bit big in the waist and the other needed to be hemmed and taken in at the ankles. I needed them done quickly and they agreed to have them done in three business days, which I appreciated. Both pairs came out great and I know taking in at the waist is no small feat. A lot has to be done and it takes skill to get that done right. As long as I'd been going to my old tailor, he never suggested that I try on when picking up. The woman here asked that I do that and I was hesitant, but decided it was a good thing to do, so quickly changed and was very happy with the results. Pricing was a bit over what I'd paid at another tailor, but like I said tailoring is a skill and it's hard to find a good tailor, so I will pay for quality work on pants I love that now fit perfectly. Based on the work they just did for me, I will be taking a few more items there soon. And...by the way, they require you pay with cash so they can keep their prices low and bring your yellow receipt for pick up! read more

Pros: Since I believe in properly fitting clothes, I get about 75% of my off the rack clothing altered. I have tried several places in this city and I think this is the best place for simple alterations. For complicated alterations or designer garments, I go elsewhere. I go out of my way to drive here. When I needed a same day alteration for my grandfather's funeral, they were able to get it done in a few hours. Plenty of parking. Cons: More expensive than tailors in other cities, but comparable to others in Phoenix. I wish they were open on Sundays. read more

The zipper broke on my husband's favorite vest. This was not a simple zipper replacement. The vest would have to be taken apart in order to replace the zipper. And, the vest was an unusual color. Dropped off a lululemon jacket to Kim to get the zipper fixed. I had to buy a new zipper ahead of time, but after that the repair took only two days and was very affordable. I didn't receive a call when it was done, so I actually picked it up until 6 days later out of complete laziness. But, jacket looks brand new again and Kim was really sweet. I've been here multiple times to get different dresses hemmed, including my wedding dress that was too big and too long in the front and they've done a good job every single time. They are always reasonably priced and get everything done so quickly. I came in a few weeks ago to get my maternity dress hemmed in the front.
