We picked up a suit for my husband for my sister-in-law's wedding and were very pleased by the service we received at Artful Tailoring. It seems to be a family owned business and the owner who helped us was very kind and helpful. They have everything you need for tailoring in a very comfortable and well designed space. There were a few adjustments that needed to be made to my husband's suit and the owner was able to do this quickly within 10 minutes so we didn't have to come all the way back and pick it up. Since my last review I have received my custom blazer and three custom dress shirts. The fit for all of the items is perfect. I wore the blazer and striped dress shirt to an afternoon wedding in Mesa this week. The temperature was 110 degrees, but I hardly noticed. I was supremely comfortable in Egyptian cotton shirt, cuff links, tie and blazer. Most of the men at the wedding only wore short sleeve shirts and no jacket. Had a really unfortunate experience getting a jacket altered. They generally do great work here, but a mistake was made, and my jacket came back at an unwearable cropped length. It was pinned at a normal length during fitting, but it seems that after moving the pockets up to match the fabric pattern, it got cut too short. I understand it is a difficult task, but the tailor left no seam allowance and just insists that this is a normal, reasonable length. I understand personal preferences, but it simply isn't what I asked for. The jacket lands well above my wrists at my hips/belt. Now I have an unwearable $4k jacket that can't be lengthened at all because of the way they cut it. It is not normal to alter without leaving seam allowances. It is not normal to assume someone wants a cropped jacket. Nothing has been done to make things right. read more

If I could give negatives stars I would. My teen wants to wear a suit for prom, no biggie right. They want a suit instead of a dress. Who cares, right! Well my child called this so called great establishment to get a price for a custom suit. Get this, this company wants to charge an extra 500 for a custom suit because they were born female. Of course companies can set their own prices but seriously so not cool to be so foolish. I was going to buy a ton of suits for my husband as he just lost a ton of weight. My fiancé set a appointment to get a consultation for a wedding tux. We have a email confirmation for the appointment but when we walked in he had no clue who we were or that we even had a consultation. The customer service from Aladdin was terrible and the appointment was useless. WE DROVE OVER A HOUR TO GO HERE JUST FOR HIM TO LITERALLY SPENT 25 MINS TELLING US HOW EXPENSIVE HIS SUITS WERE AND HOW OTHER BUSINESSES WHO DO TUX IN THE AREA ARE NOT QUALITY. At no point in the first 20 mins did he ask what we were looking for as far as style or anything. I had to pull out pictures of the suit inspo as far as style we were looking for. He literally looked at the picture and then changed the subject back to Literally continue to discuss price in different way as if it was suppose to scare us or be something we could not afford. I politely advised him that price wasn't a concern we are just wanting quality as well as a tailer who is able to get a hold of the unique colors we would like-- we are willing to pay as it's our wedding and wee are looking for a color that is not on every rack or popular. It's like he did Not want to work with us or like he thought we couldn't afford it so he was not going to waste his time going over options. So we basically drove that far just to not be helped. He did not talk through our ideas as far as the suit or even seem interested in what we were looking for and if he is able to execute-- he told us to text him pics and then and basically just trust him. We've been to consultations before and got custom items made and this was by far the most bizarre and frustrating experience I've ever had. read more

Wonderful! The owner and the women who works here (can't remember her name) are extremely talented at their job. I starting buying PGA polo shirts at the PGA Store in Chandler for the last few months. Unfortunately, the store sells them way too big for me. I take my polos to Artful Tailoring and they take their time, measure my shirts understand the fitting look I am seeking, and then custom tailor make my shirts to fit my body. 99% of the time they nail it right the first time. If you come back and are not 100% happy, they remeasure you and tailor make sure you are happy before you leave. I pay approx $50-$60 per short to have tailored made. The cost depends on how many different areas of the shirt you want to change. I'd recommend calling them and making an appointment before driving over. I will only use Artful Tailoring for all my shirts and custom needs. read more

Horrible customer service. I went in for the first visit for alterations and they were very standoffish. When picking up the pants, I noticed the zipper had been broken. I brought this to their attention and they refused to fix the zipper or reimburse me for a repair. It was obvious that the damage was done at their shop because the pants were brand new. Also, I would NOT have walked out of the dressing room and proceed to be fitted with a zipper down. The owner proceeded to argue with me when I asked him to at least reimburse me for the tailoring, and kept this up for about 10 minutes. He said he could fix the zipper, but out of principle he would not do anything to the pants. He said that he had many high end clients and did not need one patron's business. Very disappointed, will never return. read more

My neck is small, and my arms are long, so I have no choice but to have my clothing either custom-manufactured or altered. Artful Tailoring is on point in all regards. A few years ago, I had an unfortunate experience at Artful Tailoring. Recently, the owner reached out to me after reading review. He regretted the situation and wanted to make it right. I have a back log of clothes that need to be altered so I was happy to meet with him again. I knew he could be trusted with the more complicated items (i.e. anything other than pants that need hemming) because of the work he did for me previously. This time I had two dresses taken in at the shoulders and a pair of jeans taken in at the waist. The first dress had embroidery at the shoulders so he did an "easy fix" that involves folding the material. I was a little hesistant at first, but it looks good and fits even better. I've never had jeans taken in before so I was worried how they would turn out. Now my beloved mint jeans fit perfectly with just two small darts sewn in the back. They aren't really noticable, and besides, I usually wear my shirts untucked anyways. All the work was ready when promised. I'll be back soon to have some more clothing shortened to fit my midget frame. read more

Nice, unassuming. Does great work. I hate when I get pants hemed and the tailor plays chicken and egg with you. "Do you want it like this (moves the pant leg up 1/4") or like this (moves it down)"? I found this place thanks to other Yelpers. It was very professional and they hemmed 5 pairs of pants for me. They were exactly like I asked for when I picked them up and they were available next day! I only removed one star because for a simple hem they are a little pricey but I will return again because I can trust them to do quality work! Additional edit: About 3 weeks after having these pants hemmed, one pair's hem had fallen apart. I know this happens sometimes so I simply called up Artful Tailoring and explained the situation. The guy said bring it back in at my convenience, no charge. I brought it back in and they fixed it on the spot, pressed the pants and handed them back to me in less than 3 minutes. I got married and I chose this place for tuxedos for myself and my groomsmen. Their employees are well dressed and presentable and the (Chandler) store, though small, is quite appealing in a way that I thought my experience there was going to be personal. That made me feel like I went to the right place. The clothes that I purchased are of good quality for a decent price. With all that's said, I'm still giving them a low rating because of a bad experience. First, measurements we're off. I guess my party should have made time for another fitting but our schedules didn't allow it. While the groomsmen only had one fitting, I went for two fittings and my jacket sleeves still ended up a bit short (too much of my undershirt sleeve was showing on my wrist.) As for everyone else, there was something off with their attires, whether it was the length of sleeves, chest width, length of pants, or size of undershirt. I will say that our orders weren't picked up until a couple of days before the wedding and most of us didn't even get to try on our entire outfit until the day before the wedding. We trusted too much in them and didn't give ourselves time to correct any errors. In addition to that was that as the groom, I was offered an upgraded undershirt to go with the tuxedo. They have a stock of basic undershirts for my groomsmen but the one I was offered had to be ordered and I didn't notice until the day before the wedding that the shirt he gave me was a different shade of white as the groomsmen's undershirts. I went back to the store to let them know of the error and he insisted that that was the color I wanted... even though I told him that I wanted everyone to match with the exception of me having a different pocket square. The employee (Alladin) seemed dismissive and had an "oh well, your fault" attitude and wasn't able to offer any help and I had to buy another undershirt for $50. For future brides and grooms, please give yourself a lot of time during this process where you can go back multiple times for fittings and alterations to make sure clothes fit correctly. We failed to do that so as a result, all 8 of us had a fitting issue with what we purchased. Maybe I'm being too harsh even though I made the mistake of not giving myself more time to fix things but there were just too many mistakes in the process and their employees could have handled it more graciously. read more

I have used the services of Artful Tailoring many times, and have always been happy with the quality of work done, prices that are reasonable, great workmanship and awesome customer service. I have arthritis and vision problems and find it hard, to next to impossible to do basic sewing repair tasks - whether to mine or my husband's clothing OR to cloth dog toys (yes, you read correctly, dog toys - my dog has a few favorites that get worn out around the stitching & these toys are no longer available for sale anywhere). So, I have taken these kinds of items to Artful Tailoring, and they no problems to agreeing to the repair of these items. Considering the high level of quality work that is done in these repairs, their prices are reasonable and well worth it, as mentioned previously. I plan to continue to bring my sewing needs to Artful Tailoring in the future. They are the best I have found for this service in the area. When they sew something for you, you can be sure it is not something that is going fall apart anytime soon because of poor workmanship. Their workmanship is excellent and top notch. I spent hours on yelp and Google searching for a tailor. I was happy I went with my choice. I walked in and was greeted by someone who spoke English and was pleasant. I wasn't worried when I left if my clothes would be ruined or damaged when I came back to pick them up. Kim I believe did my measurements for my jeans to be hemmed. Alladin at Artful tailoring was fantastic. He was completely focused while i was there and gave me his undivided attention. He listened to what type of suit I wanted and then displayed fabrics too many to count. Luckily he is very knowledgable and helped me pick the right fabric the design of my suit. He also did not get side tracked when other customers in the store, rather he politely told them that he was busy (with me) and that it might be a while before he could assist them. I cannot say enough about this place! We had a last minute alteration needed to be done they got it done for us on time. We had missed closing time, they came back and actually opened the store for us. The alteration was perfect. It was actually really difficult because it was an old military jacket we were helping our elderly neighbor alter. I came in with some roughly taken measurements. It really needed a miracle because they had to take out about three inches. We had actually called several places who wouldn't even try. It was ready and our neighbor had it in time to be honored at his event. The people working there were so kind respectful and knowledgeable. So glad we found this place. Best tailor I've ever found...he knows clothing and fit & gets it right every time! It's important to me that my tailor has as much of an eye for fit, appearance and quality as I do. I sew and did my own alterations for years until I lost my motivation and skill, so I know what a good alteration job looks like. I read a couple of the negative reviews but decided to get my Hugo Boss suit altered anyway. I was lied to, over charged, I was given the wrong suit, the jacket was not altered when I finally got the right one, pants fabric bunched up where alterations were made and to top it off i was treated like it was no big deal. I would avoid the guy if you have anything worth value. Maybe okay for a pair of jeans or sweat pants. No apology given after the mess. There are too many professionals out there to go to who know what they are doing and who will treat you respectfully so don't go here. Hopefully this helps you. read more

I just needed a pair of business pants hemmed. The tailor was rude and explained how he could make custom pants for me that would "actually look good on you." I said no, he asked if he could make alterations to my current pants. Again, I explained I just needed a hem. When I came to pick the pants up he explained how he preferred I pay in cash. He was very insistent. I said I don't carry cash on me so I'd be paying with a card. After taking my payment he said from now on "you need to pay in cash." Needless to say, I won't be going back. This place does an amazing job patching jeans. You won't even be able to see the patches when they are done. I have also gotten 3 custom shirts from here that are great. I have heard some critics say that Aladdin is rude. I disagree, but I have noticed that a slight attitude is usually found at any tailor. You can be as rude as you want as long as you keep providing high quality and standing behind your work. read more

I love this place and Kim! My first experience with artful tailoring was in high school when I needed to have my prom dress fitted correctly. My prom dress turned out gorgeous and I loved it. Now I'm getting married and have brought 2 wedding gowns in- Yes, two. I initially had a gown made for myself. Long story short Kim altered that dress many times to try to fix the errors made by the dress make until I finally gave up and I bought dress two. (She worked so had on this mess of a dress) Dress two I brought in and it needed to be let out and have a few things changed that I disliked. Kim gave her opinion and offered ideas I would have never thought of! She really made the experience personal and simple. She made some personal changes and two days later I tried on my gown and it was perfect. She was able to just look at me and get my sizing correct and open seems and tighten as needed. She truly is AMAZING at her job. Not only is Kim great but I've always had remarkable customer service here. I will never go elsewhere! read more

Took my wedding dress to get fitted, the lady by the name of Kim was very helpful and courteous ! I had my straps shortened and cups put in, after we picked up the dress and tried it on, I was very impressed! The dress fit like a glove and they did a very good job in measuring how much to take in according to my body type ( short, chubby 5"0 ft ) which is normally very difficult and expensive!! The dress took about 2 weeks to complete which is super fast but also did not compromise the quality of work they do! My final total was around $120 which I paid half upfront and paid the other half when I picked it up and no hidden fees! I honestly can tell you I was nervous when I first got my dress to be measured there because I felt it would be too loose or wasn't enough that needed to be taken in, but when I put my dress on it fitted perfectly!!! So I highly suggest you leave it to the experts unless you know exactly how to tailor clothing! But thank you guys again, I will be bringing in more business! read more
