First impressions last... and they did. (Updated Review) Prior to the initial review *I have only had 1 interaction with Mr Formal so far and it's been far better than the first impressions from a lot of the tuxedo rental companies (chain or otherwise) in the area. Patty was my hostess who provided me with a full run down of the 2 styles I liked and the color options. Unlike a store on the I17 slip road they have all the styles/suits in stock and on dummies for viewing. Other stores seem to leave everything in the catalogue and say they will order it. Patty ran through the pricing and flexibility for our wedding as a couple of us had pieces already and some dont. Unlike my other experiences they had more than 1 style ready for me to try on and I felt I could take my time to try on different styles... (and colors if I wanted to). The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and full of information. They seem more apt to help than sell which was huge. A couple ahead of me landed in Phoenix for an evening wedding only for the airline lode their luggage. Because they wanted to buy asap instead of rent (as they would be reimbursed) the staff took the time to direct them to a number of good local stores in the area they knew of. Instead as we have all experienced, sorry can't help, no my problem. Patty wrote everything out no pressure, all disclosures and I feel comfortable that I can return with my details and reservations to be handled just perfectly. Update: 8 months later, 2 more visits and everything has been wonderfully smooth. We have added a few items and even had to deal with my procrastinators waiting until the last minute. Weddings, by their nature, come with challenges and stresses, most of all for the bride. My daughter's wedding, late last month, was no different, including last minute changes to what I would be wearing. She wasn't with me at Mr. Formal, but the gentlemen took multiple pictures of different options that I could then text to my daughter. Prom was last night. We rented a tux and they forgot to put the necessary pocket square to complete the look for my sons tux. Mr. Formal was closed when the kids were getting ready for prom so we couldn't go back and pick it up. We purchased a bow tie/pocket square set from JC Penny's and it cost us $40. When we returned the tux to Mr. Formal, Brian offered to reimburse us $3.00 for the new pocket square and inconvenience. We were unhappy with that and Brian told us that it was our fault for not checking the bag and offered no apology for their mistake. My son called them to ask who the manager was. Brian said that not only is he the manager but he's also the owner. Brian had a condescending demeanor, never offered an apology for the mistake and was more than rude. Received wonderful customer service at this store, the woman was very informative and while she had to double check on a few things she told us, I appreciated the making sure what we were being told was accurate. Being a bigger guy, I appreciated the candor of the saleswoman who wanted to make sure that I would look good in the suit as opposed to just selling me on something that would look sub par. My boyfriend was the best man at a wedding in Phoenix this weekend, but we currently live on the East Coast. As excited as he was to be a part of the ceremony, he worried about how he would coordinate his tux from so far away. Thanks to Mr. Formal, everything went perfectly! To start, all the tuxes looked great and were reasonably priced. It's their customer service that really shines. Per their instructions, my boyfriend brought his measurements in for the fitting. Just from looking at the paper, DJ could tell that our local seamstress had done them wrong. Instead of it being a disaster, DJ got my boyfriend a tux that fit. He offered helpful suggestions all afternoon until we found the pieces that suited him perfectly. After all that, we then figured out that the groomsmen had accidentally picked up bow-ties instead of regular ties. DJ to the rescue! He got us the ties we needed the day before (in the correct color and pattern) and allowed us to bring all the ties back when we returned the suits. There are so many things that can go wrong in a wedding, but Mr. Formal helped this aspect go off without a hitch. I'm grateful to them and their expertise! read more

Had to rent a suit for a funeral. Because I was out of town, I didn't have any suits with me. Looked on internet and came up with a couple places. Went to Mr. Formal first as it was on my way for errands. Well, I'm glad I did go there first! They have their own parking, staff is very friendly, don't try to sell you stuff you don't want, they're very professional and understanding. The staff makes you feel at home. Prices are very reasonable and clearly displayed on each suit/tuxedos, which are all displayed on mannequins. That gives a much better idea on how everything looks. He knew what he was talking about and was very professional and helpful. My husband got to try on different styles before we decided on one. The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. I changed my mind on colors multiple times and it was never a problem. They were incredibly helpful in making sure I got the right shade of the right color (which I did). Everything fit well when it came in plus they have you try it on before you take it with you, just in case something doesn't fit right and they'll fix it. This place was great! My boyfriend (last minute as always) needed to rent a tux for an event. The event is today and he started looking yesterday. He got to Mr. Formal's and was taken care of immediately. He was shown a variety of options and never felt rushed to make a choice, even though it was near their closing time. Very, very impressed with the customer service that I received. Long story short my wedding plans were drastically changed due to Covid and our time table rapidly accelerated. This left me in a time crunch to get myself and my son a tuxedo for the wedding. After confirming they could accommodate our short turn around need we swung by to review their selection. Wyatt was very helpful and walked us through our options. They had a broad selection which included more modern cuts (not my thing) as well as classic styles. I would say if you need it, Mr. Formal has it. We settled on a more classic tuxedo and walked out on Tuesday after being fitted and returned on Thursday afternoon. Despite the short timeframe they were able to complete the fitting perfectly. In addition to this Wyatt informed us that the owners had decided to refund us a substantial portion of the fees to help us out given the situation. $100 isn't exactly life changing but the thoughtfulness and care they showed is priceless. Super! We rented my husband's tux for our wedding from this shop. Was a fantastic experience! Reasonably priced, great selection, tux was ready for pick-up a few days ahead of schedule (really helped avoid having to run down in the middle of all the expected last minute wedding stuff) and returns were a total breeze. Hubs looked absolutely gorgeous in his tux, and the quality of all the pieces was really great. When we went to pick up the tux, there were some buttons missing from the shirt and vest, and they immediately swapped them out for new pieces - an advantage of renting from the supply house!
