I had such a good experience here. I brought in two uniform dresses that needed to be hemmed 2 inches above the knee. I paid $130 total, $65.00 each alteration/hemming for my 2 dresses. The quality of the stitching was amazing. The color of the stitch matched my uniform dress. Everything looked very professional and you can tell they paid attention to detail. I also appreciated how transparent the man who took in my dress was from the beginning. Gave me exact pricing, payment on the spot with credit card reader, and told me exactly 10 days from the day I dropped it off will be ready for pick up. Once alterations were completed. My daughter needed alterations for her work uniform this week so we stopped by the new and expanded store to be measured up. I attempted to get my bridesmaid dress altered in LA before I had to fly to Phoenix for a wedding and they didn't finish it in time. So instead, I brought a dress that was completely cut open from the LA tailor and brought it to Alter Up with LESS THAN 24 HOURS before the wedding!! The man who fitted me was so nice and understanding and I got my dress in time for the wedding. Not only that, but the dress fit like a glove and looked perfect. It was like a miracle. Albeit the work I had done was simple; the very nice gentleman I worked with not only steam cleaned my suit; he managed to eliminate a stain I was unable to do. Not only that he also neatly wrapped up my suit in luxurious plastic wrap at no extra charge either. These days superb service that was exceptionally affordable is rarity and I cannot express how thankful I am the fact that steam cleaning and spot removal was done at no extra charge along with the plastic wrap. Just went in to this shop to see if they could reinforce a stitch on a dress that I had purchased, the gentleman behind the desk refused my business as he didn't think that he could do what I was asking him to do but the reason was because he didn't want to be responsible if something happened to the dress, so therefore he could have done what I was asking him too but he didn't want to. Whenever I go to big and tall the only shirts that will fit my neck fits like a tent or is down to my knees. I bought a shirt which fitted like a tent and of course I was running out of time because I had to leave out of town for a wedding the next day. I found alter up through google(chandler mall, Arizona) and it was the best decision I made in regards to what I was wearing. I brought my shirt in and they measured it and had it done by the next day. It was by far very affordable compared to other places which would have taken a week to get it back. They had it to me the very next day and now I can go to this wedding looking like a million bucks. I never leave reviews except this one was worth mentioning. We saw one of the workers kick out a mom trying to quickly make a bottle. He claimed she would ruin the clothing around them, yet there was nothing that could possibly be affected. They said they would leave and while they were gathering their stuff he was ranting about how this isn't the place to make the bottle. I would not recommend giving this place your business after such a rude encounter. Clearly he has some kind of issues against mothers trying to provide for their children. read more
