She did such an amazing job with my wedding dress couldn't recommend here enough! She also got it done in a timely manner I was so impressed

Before you choose Sweet Lana for alterations, I recommend that you read this. I'd hate to be that person who writes a bad review but this deserves to be shared. Svitlana is unprofessional, unorganized, and treated my wedding dress carelessly, which ended up with black stains on my dress. I purchased my wedding dress at LUV Bridal in Tempe. They provided me a list of 3 seamstress who could do my alterations. The woman who sold me the dress raved about Svitlana, who was first on the list for recommended alterations. Svitlana has great reviews on Yelp and Google so I didn't bother looking elsewhere. I visited Svitlana a total of 4 times. The first couple times were fine but she was ALWAYS late. When I arrived to my 3rd appointment, she wasn't even home yet and the door was locked. I waited outside for about 10-15 minutes until she came home. When I tried on my dress, I noticed multiple black stains in the front of my wedding dress. One of them looked like black oil stains. I asked her where the stains came from but she had no idea. From the day I purchased my dress, I never took it out of the bag until I took it to her for alterations. Svitlana claimed that the black stains came from the LUV Bridal bag. But when I called LUV Bridal, they were not aware of wedding dresses getting stained from the bag. She said she'd try to get the stains out but she's not a professional. I didn't even trust her to clean it. I added sleeves to my dress so I needed to stop in for a 4th time. The sleeves were too tight and I could barely move my arms. By the time I picked up the dress, I had to leave for my flight for my wedding that week, so I couldn't ask her to adjust the sleeves. She tried to clean the stain and it ended up with a lighter white ring around it, and the stain was still there. She played it off saying that the stain is small and took a picture to show that it's not noticeable from afar. I'm upset that I had multiple black stains on my dress in the first place. I understand that my dress will get a little dirty at some point, but that should happen AFTER the wedding, not before by a seamstress. When I found a dry cleaner in Houston that would try to clean my wedding dress, she told me that the black stains appear to be burn stains, so they couldn't take it out. I was horrified. When I tried on my dress at the dry cleaners in Houston, she noticed that the lining of my dress was not properly altered so she did a rush job for me. Thankfully, my dress was ready just 2 days before my wedding day. I paid so much money to get my wedding dress altered, and I had to do even more work to it afterwards. I'm disappointed and upset beyond belief. I called LUV Bridal to explain the whole story, and it turns out a few other brides have experienced similar issues with Svitlana. She has now been removed from the list of recommended seamstresses. I hope this review helps future brides. read more

I had the most wonderful experience here, I needed my dress to be perfect for my wedding day and I had a really complicated tear that others had turned me away for. I was able to get it altered and ready for my big day and no one could even tell!!! She saved the day, sweetest lady you could ever work with and will tell you what is actually possible and so far has exceeded my expectations. Thank you Sweet Lana's!! read more

I absolutely adored Svitlana!! She did the most amazing job on my dress. She was excellent at communicating and really listened to me/made me feel comfortable. My dress also had a lot of details, lace, and beading and she handled that very well. She even hand sewed back the lace patterns and beading so I wouldn't lose the design of the dress when I had to shorten it (I'm 5'2"). She also kept in mind the kind of environment I'd be getting married in and I told her grass and sand so she made sure to alter accordingly. Her pricing was also very reasonable and affordable for me to work with. I wouldn't go to anyone else for your dress alterations. She is just too amazing. read more

I've loved working with Svitlana and she is a master at hemming! I had a difficult fabric to work with on my wedding dress and she hemmed it so well it looked like it came that way! She made a bustle for the dress too with just tulle! She also added in some fabric to the front from the bottom of the dress because I wanted it to be more modest. And it looked so so good. She's a genius. Totally pours her heart into her work! I got the cutest Pearl veil from her too! Very easy to work with and was flexible with my difficult schedule. She performed magic on my bridesmaid dress. The size was too small in the arm areas, even though I had measured. It was delivered from China with the wedding g around the corner, so there was no way I could return for a larger size. She was able to make the necessary changes within a few weeks. She's amazing! read more

Svitlana is amazing! Her prices are incredibly reasonable (especially compared to box bridal stores). My dress was tailored PERFECTLY. Svitlana even helped fix a torn strap a few days out from wedding. I could not be happier with the fit of my dress. They quoted me $500 to sew a small section on my dress. It would have taken them 5 minutes with their machines. So, I finally did it myself and it was free. read more

Lana was recommended to my mom for her dress alterations for my wedding. My mom decided to ask her if she did wedding dresses. Originally I did not need any alterations other than a small piece of lace added to the back where the clasp was and the bustle. Due to the high stress of the planning I ended up losing about 10 lbs between May to August and when I tried my dress on again the week before my wedding it was too big. Lana took on a really big project as we only had a few days to make sure my dress fit perfectly. To say she provided excellent service would be such an understatement. Lana is magical. She took on this task with smiles and she made me feeling stunning in my wedding dress possible. It fit like a glove! I would recommend her a million times over. One of my bridesmaids went to her as well and she loved the service also. She is great! And I think she is very reasonably priced. read more

I am so so happy I found Svitlana! My daughter wanted some very last minute changes to her wedding dress and I saw her business very highly recommended in a Facebook wedding group. We reached out to her and she responded very promptly. What my daughter wanted done to her dress was pretty drastic, but Svitlana was up for it! We were floored with what she was able to do! It fit my daughter so beautifully. She went from being sad about the dress she had chosen to looking like a princess in the way Svitlana fixed it for her. Svitlana is an amazing seamstress and is an all around lovely person. She recently altered my bridesmaids dress and my sister-in-law's wedding dress. She had extremely fair prices and does truly great work. My grandma is a retired seamstress as well and she was impressed by her skill and attention to detail. My sister's dress needed to be taken in two sizes, hemmed, had a missing button, and she wanted lace sleeves to be added. Svitlana made it happen with a smile on her face. Her lovely attitude matched her amazing work! Save yourself the stress and money and just bring your dresses to Svitlana. read more

Lana saved my wedding, truly! The seamstress I had lined up originally to do alterations on my wedding dress flaked on me and I was in a major pickle. It was 2 months before my wedding and most alteration places want more than 2 months. Lana was VERY sweet from the very beginning. Got me in with no hesitations and was right on with all of my needs. We tried the dress on with the shoes in her studio, she made suggestions I would not have thought of. She made me feel very comfortable there and was so thoughtful and complimentary for the whole process. I will absolutely recommend her to ANYONE I know looking for alterations of any kind. read more

Svitlana is the BEST seamstress I have seen in decades! She has an extremely lovely personality and is a great dress designer. She and I both redesigned my wedding dress to my specifications. I did not have to "settle" for anyone else's desires but my own. I would HIGHLY recommend her to you if you ever need anything altered or just want to design a dress, pants, blouse or anything for yourself!! Do yourself a big favor...buy something beautiful for yourself. By the way, as a point of interest...my wedding dress had five layers that she patiently and meticulously took care of for me. Obviously, I cannot say enough nice things about this wonderfully talented gal. read more
