I was referred to sweet Lana's by a Facebook post. I took my wedding dress to her to be altered and the communication was amazing. Svitlana is a very sweet personable person that will work miracles ! I requested her to add detailing to my dress along the corset and she provided suggestions on where to buy the materials at a good price. First of all her customer service is impeccable, she is responsive, personable, kind and produces exactly what she says she will in a timely manner. My mother's dress was too long and had a neckline she was not comfortable with. Not only was Svitlana able to cut and hem the dress, she also added a piece to the neckline that looked like it was always there. I can't even name all the alterations she did to my dress. I am short and curvy and gowns don't always fit me perfectly. She listened to all my ideas without batting an eye and was able to help me essentially redesign the dress to what you see here. Too bad we haven't received all the photos from the photographer, so I could show the full length extent of her work. I only wish we had found her soon enough to have brought the brides dress to her. I asked Lana if she could turn a standard T-shirt into a tank top/crop top and she did a really good job! I posted pictures with her photos! I didn't think to take a before and after picture but I uploaded the one they had on amazon. Just a plain black shirt with Barbie written on it. She cut the sleeves off and turned it into a crop top. I also asked her to make the back a little longer. It turned out absolutely perfect! So much better than I had imagined it would look! This shirt literally looks like I just bought it from somewhere. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Svitlana tailored my wedding dress in a very timely manner, and made it fit like a glove! She complimented me often and was extremely sweet every time I went to meet her. My dress was much too long, and once she took in the sides, the sleeves didn't quite fit right. However, she came up with an idea to add elastic on to part of the sleeve, which made it perfect. She went above and beyond my expectations. I can't wait for my wedding day! I wanted a stunning dress for my wedding. Looked through tons of magazines and found the style I loved. But... the dress had a tag over $5,000:-( I did not want to spend that much and started to shop around for a good bridal alterations business. Ok, To make a long story short, I used a couple of terrible places where I just wasted a lot of time and some money. Finally I came to Sweet Lana's Alterations. It's not a glamorous salon, with chaise lounges, snooty saleswomen and glasses of champagne handed out. If that's what you want, then you probably have no qualms about wasting thousands and thousands of dollars on a wedding gown, so go right ahead. I came here for a dress of my dream, and oh, my, I got one here! Fantastic job was done by Svetlana, the owner of this terrific place! She was awesome. Very sweet and friendly. She listened to what I liked and didn't like in dresses, and set out to pick a few to try on. All but one of her choices looked great on, and she took what worked and what didn't in mind as she went in search of more. We had a great time, and I felt like she was another (extremely knowledgeable) friend helping me find my perfect dress. At the end of the appointment I had two very strong contenders. I told her I wanted to think about it because I'm not an impulse buyer, and said that we had two other appointments that day at other salons. She said she totally understood and that she hoped she'd see me again. We hugged as my group and I got ready to go, and the rest of the day I kept comparing my experiences at the other salons to the one I'd had at Sweet Lana's Alterations. Well, I ended up with the dress of my dreams. It was really, really beautiful, just what I'd had in mind but hadn't been able to fully describe, and it cost less than $2,000. It didn't look any less expensive than any of the more costly dresses I'd tried on at other stores or have seen in the magazines. On my wedding day I received tons of compliments on the dress, and my groom said I looked like a fairy tale princess or old-fashioned movie star (I love old movies, so this was a look I was aiming for). He couldn't stop staring at me, and on our wedding video you can hear him saying several times that I just look so beautiful. That's the only endorsement I really needed to know I'd made the right choice. I felt like a million bucks without having to spend nearly that amount! ;-) So, Sweet Lana's Alterations worked for me. Lana is amazing! Brought her a dress that fit like an over sized potato sack. I was stressed about the dress as it neither fit nor looked like the catalog it was advertised in. She worked wonders with dress and had to do some major tailoring to get the dress to work. It was no easy feat. When I left her place of business she made me feel reassured that the dress would look great and be done by the scheduled date. There dress was completed timely and sure enough when I picked up the dress it looked like a whole new and much better dress like the dress in the catalog! Lana is a miracle worker!
