Suzanne- the wizard of all wedding dress alterations! I found her here on Yelp about 1 year ago and can now confidently say that what the reviews said about her are true. She is SO friendly, witty and most of all, talented! I really cannot imagine anyone being more talented than her with wedding dress alterations, so I count it as a blessing that we have her right here in the PHX area. I even had NO qualms whatsoever driving 45-60 minutes during rush hour to my fittings because I knew I was getting the best of the best. Suzanne and her team have a well oiled machine as an operation. They make it incredibly effortless for busy brides, sending reminder texts, easy changes to appointment times and much more. They even have an option to clean and then preserve your dress after your wedding, which I took advantage of. Suzanne even cleaned my shoes free of charge after I got blood on one of them (long story). What makes Suzanne an ideal seamstress for brides is that she's completely "detached" from the work. Creative folks oftentimes allow their ego to get in the way and want to make a piece the way they see it and not listen to customers. In her case, she has no problem explaining "this is how I would do it, but it's about what YOU want since you're the bride." This happened to me with my waistline where she explained to me the way I wanted it made it look unfinished, but regardless I still wanted it the way I envisioned. She was so patient explaining it all to me (and even had me laughing a time or two!) and then she had no problem proceeding with my request because (as she says so many times) "you're the bride!" The only constructive feedback I have is that in my final fitting, I felt like the material in the torso wasn't tight enough and was bunching. Suzanne's employee explained that it's just like that if I'm hunching over, even slightly and just explained to have good posture (which any bride needs on her wedding day!). I REALLY wish I would have said something to Suzanne before leaving because as you can see in the pictures, it did bunch up in the torso regardless of my posture. Luckily all of the main photos have my bouquet in that part, so you can't always tell. But every time I look at the wedding pictures, I get that internal nagging feeling that I just should have triple checked it by Suzanne, who I'm sure would have figured it out. Since going to Suzanne for my wedding, I have referred her to two brides. Neither of them went to Suzanne. BUT both of them had severe panic moments when the seamstress they chose completely messed up their dresses. They had panic moments, called Suzanne, and she took care of it. One bride even scouted me out a her wedding to tell me how much she appreciated my recommendation because Suzanne came in clutch in the last two weeks of her wedding. So if it's one thing you need to know, it's to listen to me---- hire Suzanne NOW or there's a good chance you're going to be going to her anyways-- just make it less stressful and call her first before you're calling her for an emergency appt. I debated writing this review for weeks, but I think it's important to share my experience. I'm giving a 2-star rating only because the first two girls who helped me during my initial consultation were kind and professional. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was disappointing. The shop itself feels run-down, and their prices--for both gowns and alterations--are excessive. I was quoted nearly $800 in alterations for a dress I purchased for under $200, simply because it was for a beach wedding. All I needed was the sides taken in and new straps added. They charge a $50 consultation fee, which they claim goes toward your total if you proceed with them. However, even after agreeing to move forward, they charged another $50 at the end for a so-called "final view." I eventually decided not to add straps and was still charged $550. When paying, the screen prompted me for a tip, which I found unreasonable--especially on such a high alteration cost. Later, I chose a different dress, and they told me since alterations hadn't started, I'd get a 75% refund. That struck me as unethical as the dress had not even been touched for alterations, but I accepted it. When I went to pick up the dress, I was still charged the $50 final inspection fee. I asked about removing it, but the associate quickly said it would stay. To make matters worse, the seamstress never came out to consult or inspect my dress, and during my initial visit. In total, I paid over $130 just for them to look at my dress once. I strongly recommend choosing a more ethical and customer-focused business--one that understands life circumstances change and doesn't try to squeeze every dollar out of you. The right thing would've been to charge the initial $50 consultation fee and refund the rest. read more

Suzanne works MIRACLES! I purchased the dress from a bridal shop that allowed me to bring it home the same day. The delicate lace was absolutely beautiful, which is why I purchased it. However, I had instant buyers remorse, as after trying it on at home, it was not modest enough for me. I was terribly uncomfortable and concerned that I could not hold the dress up with my rectangle figure. After much research for wedding dress alterations, I settled on Suzanne's. We live in the North end of the Valley, so a trip to Suzanne's was 1+ hours, and it took 4 appointments, Suzanne's and her team are very busy, yet they always take the time to ask how you feel about the alterations each step of the way. Suzanne checked in on me, as well. This was not an easy task, as the material was delicate and the alterations required that she cut and piece the material together. I was terrified it would turn out horribly, yet also knew that Suzanne was the best in the Valley. Great news! The dress came out beautifully (see photos) and I received many compliments on it. From the minute I scheduled my initial fitting at Suzanne's, every single employee was friendly and made the entire process fun. Angel and Ashlynn are the two with whom I worked the most, and they were absolute dolls. Super knowledgeable and helped put me at ease throughout it all. As a company, they have it down to a science, which made the entire process so easy and entirely stress free for me. (And given our wedding was in Cancún, stress-free was certainly what I was going for!) Not to mention Suzanne's flawless work. My dress fit impeccably, and I felt utterly stunning in it! This review is way overdue, but we just had a baby right after our wedding so I finally have some time to write this. Suzanne did my wedding dress alterations in 2021. She took my dress in at the bust and did my hem and bustle. My wedding dress was made by Maggie Sottero and had a lot of intricate lace on the bodice and tulle skirt. She did a wonderful job and her team even steamed my dress and veil before my wedding day. After my wedding, Suzanne's also had my dress cleaned and packed up for storage. Everything was very easy and communication was great! Suzanne's alterations were also very affordable. I had looked at Tailored in White because they seemed to have great reviews, but they quoted me almost $1200 for the minimum amount of alterations. That was basically the amount of a whole new wedding dress! I really just wanted to say thank you so much for making everything so easy for me because it really helped me on our wedding day. Clarification you DO NOT! You were on the phone with me discussing my case and you stated you had fever and not feeling well and still at work! Why would you be sick and still at work. If your sick don't come to work. Brides etc can potentially get sick. Again save your time and money. TRUST ME! I have heard so many horror stories of girls taking their dresses into shops and having terrible experiences, and because I waited until only 2 months before my wedding to get my dress altered, I needed everything done right the first time. Suzanne and Michaela were incredible during my whole alteration appointment. I was pressed for time and they certainly made it happen! Every visit was so great. You could see the dress just forming to my body and it looked more and more like my dress each time. As for how it held up, AMAZING! I was able to have my dress bustled for the majority of the post ceremony activities and everything was perfectly placed where I wasn't tripping over it all the time. I had my bridesmaids dress altered here. I came back & tried it on prior to picking it up so i did not look at it prior to the wedding. I was extremely disappointed while getting dressed. The hems were not lined up and loose, the fabric was piling, the length was too long (I wore my shoes while they sized it), and it actually ripped before the night was over. I spent 100$ on alterations at this location and expected better from the reviews. This was very disappointing and for the price - i should have gone somewhere else for low quality of work. Suzanne is a true master of her craft, and an amazing woman outside of that. Every time I came in, I felt confident that the dress would be more beautiful than the last time I saw it. Suz is an incredibly personable being with a sweet heart and a love for love. I would say my dress was a size too small but she lowered the back, hemmed the skirt and fixed the bust and the dress ended up more beautiful than the base version. My trust in her skills really paid off and I never felt more beautiful in my life than when I was in that dress. I was even an out-of-town client and their team accommodated me every step of the way. Her account of my incident never happened. I was upset and frazzled, not at Suzanne but because I just had a blown tire on the way to my appointment. Suzanne told me she would do what it took to make the dress right. When I went in the next day the dress was perfect. Between my 3 daughters and myself all of our visits have been nothing but pleasant. Suzanne and her staff have been extremely caring and genuinely want to make our dresses more than perfect. I watched Maryjean and her friends come in the shop with attitudes from the minute they walked in. It started when they were asked to wearing a mask. I don't like the masks either but last I checked we still live in a free country and if they don't like a the rules they're free to support a different business.
