I set an appointment for my Maltipoo to get groomed, and I walked out before they even got started. I have had him groomed there before with no problem, but this time was a different story. When I was going over how I wanted my dogs hair cut the first employee there had no problem...then Vanessa butted in. She was very rude the whole time telling me how I needed to have my dog groomed. I tried explaining what I was requesting is how they have always cut his hair. She was firm on rejecting my request for a standard cut, and made it clear she was going to do it her way. I am an understanding person if only she would have explained to me why it had to be her way. Her bully technique did not work with me so I left with my dog! Time to find a new place for my boy to get groomed!! read more

I've been buying our food and taking our dogs for grooming here for years. That may very well change now. We recently adopted a 7 year old dog and called this store to find out if we needed an appointment to have his nails trimmed. I was told we just needed to provide proof he was current on his rabies shot and no appointment was necessary. We brought him in a little before 7pm and found two groomers "very busy" with their heads buried in their cell phones. Meanwhile I could not help notice several tables and the floor of the grooming area covered in various colors of dog hair. We explained we just needed to have his nails trimmed but were told they needed documentation that ALL shots/vaccinations are current. I shared that was not what I was told on the phone but to no avail. We explained we had his medical record from the rescue which included a complete list showing the dates of each vaccine that was given. The girl told us that was not sufficient and it had to be some type of certificate provided for each shot. My suggestion for this business would be to train the staff to be knowledgeable and consistent about explaining what is required to have services performed. I can certainly understand requiring vaccinations on all animals, but "proof" can be provided in many forms. We drove directly from the store to our veterinary office about 20 minutes away and they were happy to trim his nails in a matter of minutes. By the way, they were given the same "medical record info" that we were referring to. It certainly would've been much more convenient to have had it done it at the store but we know now to simply go to our vets and pay almost double for nail trimming. read more

This was probably the nicest PetSamrt in Phoenix. The store was clean, the sells were great, but most important the Customer Service was World Class. We were greeted when we first entered the store. Anthony Hagen the assistant manager was very kind in answering all of our questions and concerns. He also walked around with us directing us to the best looking fish tanks. He was kind in conversation while loading up our brand new tank and gave some very helpful advise. Not only with assisting us I noticed his pleasant helpful behavior with other customers and his employees. The petsmart on baseline has world class customer service. Amazing no reviews about this place considering it's been there a while now. I have 3, small ponds. Largest is around 400 gallons, smallest is about 130 gallons. I go in there during late spring and summer and get fish. Koi, goldfish and yes, mollies seem to do well in ponds as well. I just wait until they have a sale on them, which usually means a great price. I like taking one of my Great Danes in there since they allow leashed, vaccinated pets. Stuff for my ponds is about all I get in there. I don't buy much of anything for dogs because their prices are just too much more than prices I can find elsewhere. But, it's a cool place to walk around and look at all the stuff and make a wishlist and maybe go on Ebay or visit Walmart (umm, well maybe not) or somewhere and see if you can find something at a bit more reasonale price. Cool employees, really don't have a problem with the place excepting the prices. read more

We took our Yorkie to get groomed & we added the Top Dog package . We picked him up he looked good. His teeth and breath were no different than when I brought him in. He did not have a the Holiday sent on him and he didn't have a bandana. I was told that all the managers we off because, it was the weekend after Thanksgiving. I'm not sure if I will go back or not for almost 70.00 I think I can get better service from some other groomer. read more

While spending a good amount of money in this store the customer service sucks. Before we even asked a question we were told I'm sorry I busy when we were just asking where the restroom was!! This is by far, ABSOLUTELY, the most VICIOUS and WORST customer service experience ever!!!! We made an appointment over 2 weeks ago for a grooming of our dog.THE DAY BEFORE we got a confirmation email reminding us about the appointment we scheduled. THE DAY OF we walked in and were told that they called us twice and left a voice message that the appointment has been cancelled because the groomer called off. My question is, how do they leave a voicemail on a phone that does not have a voicemail setup? My point exactly! When we left the building we immediately got a email confirming that our appointment was then CANCELLED! I asked the manager Jamie (or whatever her name is) why we did not get that email before coming in so that we don't have to waste time (which makes sense) and she responded that she does not have the ability to send the automated emails. I know for a fact she did something to make that email send so the fact she lied to me as well is HORRIBLE. She argued with me the whole time for 10+ minutes and only told me that she called. I admitted that I understood that they called and we missed the call however, I wanted her (as a person in the customer service industry such as myself) to understand my point of view but all she understood was that she called and not where my frustration with the situation was coming from. I seen multiple people from other races bring dogs in and get assistance with no hesitance or anything that day. We had to wait outside the room (due to corona hopefully) and when I questioned her stance on injustice with race she COLD NOT WAIT TO THROW OUT THE FACT THAT HALF HER STAFF WAS MEXICAN and she was not racist! Hmm, definitely reminds me of the scenario of the one person who says they are not racist because they have that one black friend -_-. All I can say is that petsmart has let me down. Any dog grooming company that would treat a family that has been bringing dogs in to give you LOYAL business over the course of 10+ years with the utmost disrespect such as I have been treated with today, will never, EVER, get my respect, approval, or MONEY ever again until some things change for the better! read more

I'm not too sure about this Petsmart anymore. Especially the lady who helped me in the aquatics section today. She was on the y'all side, skinny with light brown hair and looked to be Caucasian. First of all, when I was originally going to ask for help, she was the first in sight, but she immediately ducked away and avoided eye contact, so I went to the cashier and asked for help with pick out the goldfish that I wanted. Well guess who came to my help... the First Lady... She looked totally unwilling and was even having arguments on her headset and laughing. This isn't so much the part I'm upset about. What irked me was the way she handled the fish. MY FISH. She scooped out the first fantailed goldfish in a fast swoop, then when she got to the second (a black moor) she ended up pinning him between the net and glass, pinching the left side of his tail fin. Now it has a sag... which it didn't have before. Roughly tossed them in the bad and was sloshing them around when writing the sku. I kept quiet the whole time as the fish were still in her hands and not yet my fish. Fancy goldfish are slow swimmers. The fins in fish are also a bit delicate. None of this was needed. I wish I knew her name. I'm so glad I got these guys out of there, but can only imagine how else they've been treated. That person is bringing down the rep of the store. I went into the Petsmart at 2475 E Baseline Road Phoenix, AZ 85042 (602) 232-1090, and was never greeted until I finished shopping. Andrea did greet me but was no help what so ever after that. She told me they didn't price match amazon and then listed who you match after I asked. I asked her to look it up but she didn't move. So my nephew had to look it up. She started to punch in her password by the time we found the price. After the purchase, once again she didn't move. So I asked her if I had to reach around pass the card machine to get my stuff and grab the boxes? She said (with a smart mouth attitude) "it's only two boxes." So I asked to speak with the manager in charge. Katrina shows up and I explained what happened. I asked why I have no value as a customer and had to explain how she made me feel. She could talk to me that way because of the class level and/or color she has assigned me, because if she saw me as a customer maybe I wouldn't be sitting here typing. So Katrina tells me she's not racist, she could be having a bad day and more excuses for her friend. So her life choices are my responsibility. I asked how well do you know her? She told me well. Maybe that's why she took the employees side instead of the guest in front of the guest. Friends stick together. The things I went in for wasn't just stuff I was buying, but it was stuff I NEEDED. The one on Elliot didn't have C size pads so I went to a second location who had it, but hate black people. Why don't I have it? Because I shopped at Petsmart instead of amazon, petco, ebay, walmart, (witch I work across the street from) or just making my own. At my return I met Diana who didn't greet me or ask how she could help me, but instead questioned me, "what are we doing hear?" So I said hello to you too. I gave her the receipt and told her I want a refund. Instead of scanning the receipt she asked me something. I told her just scan the receipt. She continued to ask me questions. So I asked her what her name was because she wasn't wearing a tag. With an attitude she replied, body language and all. So she doesn't value black men or see them as customers either. At that point I pulled out my cell phone and started recording.There was a problem with the receipt as well but when I asked Diana if her name was on the receipt and she said "no but you already know it's Diana." Wow huh. Still going, because for some strange reason I'm not allowed to feel or take issue with their poor service I was being given. What I got from my experience was I'm just a black who because of discrimination laws, you have to serve, but you damn sure don't want to. Somebody will call with an empty apology but nothing will happen. I'll return and those same people will be helping the right guest and angering the rest. This has happened more than once at this petsmart and I always spread the word. Why didn't anybody try to save that sale. Why didn't the m.o.d. have the people skills to help the issue instead of making worse. Why didn't Diana great me. They were all sticking together and I was the enemy, not the customer. I love coming to this store and bringing my doggies. The staff is ALWAYS so friendly and "pitchy" which comes off so happy & enthusiastic. They are always so friendly towards my dogs and always asks if they can give them a treat (at the cashier checkout). They are also very helpful and very approachable. It's almost like a happy place to go to with your pet. And the nicest thing is the store is located in my neighborhood, so the staff often recognizes you. read more

You are greeted as soon as you enter the door. There is sufficient staff to assist you with something if needed. The reptile and dog sections were fully stocked. I got the shallow basins for my cricket bins to give them cricket water and wash the extra pair. We buy Blue Buffalo dog food. It's not cheap, but they have the best price we can find, normal $56.99, on sale every so often for $51.99. I was third in line at lane one, two employees got into the other two lines and grabbed the customer in front of me and then i went to lane three. Very friendly cashiers, they come to you or your cart if you have big items to scan. Highly recommend the PetPerks membership and donating $1.00 of every transaction to PetsMart Charities. We always do. Easy access if you're heading east on Baseline or south on 24th street.
