Yep. It's true I am a cat lady. I officially have 2 cats, and one is a long hair tuxedo. She's just too cute I swear, but the long hair was becoming an problem. She was getting fur balls and that's just gross to clean up haha I knew a friend got her cat groomed so I asked where she went, and she told me she takes her pretty guy to Fancy Pets so I booked my kitty an appt with a groomer. Everyone was extremely friendly at Fancy Pets! They trimmed Rue up nicely. Rue the cat though had a few rough days afterwards, I swear the fur made her sassy and she kinda forgot who she was and was sad over the haircut. But after a week or two she came back to her normal self and was full of sass. The trim has definitely helped with the fur balls, we have been fur ball free for months now. Also helped with shedding too. At the start of spring when the weather is warmer, I will take her back for another cut. Thank you Fancy Pets! read more

I took my dog to this company on 4/26/24. I'd say my dog and I had a pretty good experience! I was able to get in really quickly, my dog was there for only 2 hrs, the price was very competitive with other groomers and the staff was so nice to my dog. He was really scared when I left him but when I picked him up he was very happy! The only reason I'm giving them 4 starts instead of 5 is because the grooming wasn't fantastic... they missed some spots in his fur so there was little patches that were longer so I had to cut them myself. Also, they did not shave the hair between his paws nor did they cut the hair in his ears... I'm really big on customer service and their customer service was truly amazing, so even though they didn't perform well on the grooming I'm still going to bring my dog back there! read more

I've contemplated leaving a review for awhile now and with what would have been my best friend's fur baby's 4th birthday in a few weeks I think now is the time. I wouldn't want what happened to my bff after she brought her dog to this place to happen to anybody else. This place is responsible for unaliving my bff's dog. She brought him here a few years ago for a grooming service and when she went to check on him 30 minutes later, he was brought out to her soaking wet and unresponsive. She rushed him to a local vet hospital and was told he experienced acute trauma and while they tried their best to stabilize him, he eventually succumbed to his injuries. She told the vet what happened at this place and was contacted by Tempe PD although she never called them to report what happened. She thought it must have been the vet hospital and that maybe this wasn't the first time this happened here. When she asked what happened to him the woman who groomed him said she had no idea and when asked for video of what took place she told her they didn't have cameras at the time. The woman was very apologetic but seemed very anxious which made my bff feel like she wasn't being forthcoming. My bff never had any issues when she took him to Lugari in Scottsdale where they have cameras in every room but tried this place out after it was suggested to her by someone else. My bff still regrets it and knows he'd still be here if she didn't. Watching my bff breakdown and be inconsolable for weeks after it happened was the hardest thing to watch. She is one of the kindest souls I've ever known and loved. When I asked if I could share what happened to my nephew on my social platforms since I have a large following she asked me not to because she believed vengeance is the Lord's, not ours. She also didn't pursue a lawsuit because it was too painful for her to relive the events and there is no money that would bring her precious baby back. If you bring your pet here I suggest you stay the entire time, I wouldn't want you to go through the same thing she did. Nollie was loved by everyone that he came in contact with and brought joy everywhere he went. My nephew will forever be missed. read more

My family were loyal customers for years but the past few times they groomed our dog she was shaved down after specifically asking for a Scottie cut. We made sure this last time to clearly ask for her to be left with a standard Scottie cut meaning left with a long skirt. After having to wait for her coat to grow back after the last hack job from this place. She was brushed right before dropping her off as to assure there was no reason why they would need to shave her. She had absolutely no matting and when we came to pick her up she was shaved down once again. When questioned (politely might I add) we were told by a gentleman that we should "brush our damn dog". Absolutely despicable response. We were also told that she was cut that way to be "uniform to their style of cuts" and that it acts as a business card for their business. I don't really know what dog groomer would want to display incorrect cuts to the breed but besides the point. If you want a groomer that flat out refuses to honor requests and then be berated at pickup and deal with a grumpy rude old man, this is the place for you. Otherwise save your money and do it yourself, it would be a better cut anyways. Never coming back here again. Do better. read more

I've been bringing my 2 shih tzu dogs here for a little over 2 years, the staff has become friendlier over the years. Sometimes they forget to cut their nails so I would have to rebook an appointment since they hate me touching their toes. They've also had a few cuts from the razor but I understand sometimes they move or mistakes happen I don't take it to the heart. They never leave the salon with the same look so I think that's a little funny but never an unsatisfied cut. I have always recommended this place until today. I asked them to TRIM her and I leave her lions main but TRIM it and shave under her tail as low as possible. Apparently the lady heard trim her as low as possible because when I picked her up she was shaved. I mentioned she wasn't suppose to be shaved and the response was, "oh sorry" I left but the more I thought about the more upset I got. I called to see where we "got lost in translation" and the lady got instantly defensive and said I told her to shave her. No attempt to apologize just instantly accuse me of lying. With a name like Fancy Pets you think to yourself this place must be really, well fancy. Well people, there is nothing fancy about this place. It is as plain and generic as it gets. It is even in a lame strip right behind a gourmet seafood restaurant known as Long John Silver's. That being said this place is awesome. I know they groom cats and dogs, I am not sure if they service other pets here. Can you shave down a Guinea pig? I have a long haired cat. I hate cat hair! Their cat hair comes off his body in something resembling a cotton tumbleweed. So I take my cat in to get completely shaved down. He loves the results and so do I. Never see hairball at my house. After my old groomers Zeke's went out of business, I had to find a new place that would shave cats. This was not easy, since a lot of groomers will not shave cats. I can't blame them, neither would I. I talked to several places to find out the groomer's skill set and prices. One place said they'd do it, but wouldn't give me a price. They said it starts at $75 and depends on the cat's personality. Are you kidding me? My cat has always done great at the groomers, how do I know you won't just tell me they were bad to up your price. What an ass! Well Fancy Pets said they had plenty of experience with cats and gave me a really fair price too. They now have shaved the cat multiple times, it always goes perfectly, and the cat looks great. At least I think he looks great, some people tell me he looks funny. Funny? I think it might be jealousy, not every animal can pull off a lion cut. read more

For the first time ever I own a pet. I have a small male Maltese and knowing that I would be needing my dog groomed was such a nervous thing for me with all the reviews and stories I've heard and read about the groomers not doing a well job and to the point of hurting your furry pets. Well I came across fancy pets here on yelp and after reading the reviews on here I decided to give them a try. I called to make an appointment and ask about their services on exactly was is that they do and they kindly answered my questions and concerns that I had. On the day of the appointment my I can tell my dog got a little nervous (so did I lol) but the front desk lady and the groomer that was going to take care of my Rocko made me feel at ease they were so sweet and nice. They assured me that they will take good care of him and asked how exactly I wanted his hair cut which I wasn't to sure how I wanted done so I just told them to do what they think would be best and after 5hrs he looked so freaking adorable! Teeth brushed, nails trimmed, tear stains gone, etc. And may I say he smelled like baby powder! I was truly impressed and happy how he came out. This was my first time at fancy pets. I brought my pup Frankie in for a full grooming service. Though, it took longer than what I expected, this was the best grooming service Frankie has ever had. My biggest concern was the shape of Frankies face and the length of her hair. The groomers at Fancy Pets did EXACTLY what I wanted. Frankies face was the perfect shape and her hair was not super short. Fancy Pets totally hooked Frankie up. As you can see in the picture, It had been awhile until Frankie actually got a haircut. They always do such a great job here with my long haired cat! I usually get her belly and backside shaved because it gets all matted under there and they do a perfect job every time. She comes home smelling so good and feels super soft. She's a diva and barely lets me trim her nails at home so they're professionals and can get the job done. I can't believe I'm writing this review. Ive been here three other times, and recommended several people. A week ago I had made an appointment for 10 a.m. to get my dog groomed. They told me they would call me when he is ready. 4:15 p.m. comes around and they still have not contacted me, and they close in an hour. I go into the store and asked if my dog is ready. The gentleman at the front had no idea what I was talking about, and had trouble even finding my dog. He then proceeds to tell me that they have already bathed my dog just not cut him. The owner comes out and says he is not ready. I told him unfortunately I'm going to have to take my dog back as I have somewhere to be. The owner said "sorry come back next week and we will take care of you." I said okay, and took my dog. Come to find out they never actually bathed my dog like the staff told me...he lied! I figures they were just having an off day, and Ive had decent experiences with them in the past. So I bite the bullet, and I come in today. When I walk in the door, the owner and two other people are standing at the front talking. It takes them an entire 3 minutes to even acknowledge me. When finally acknowledged by the owner, I explain the situation again. He said oh no I told you to make an appointment because we cannot get your dog room today either. I said no you never told me to make an appointment otherwise I would have. His reply? Oh well...have a nice day. Bye ma'am. This is APPALLING. As someone who is a customer service manager, this is never okay. You're employees screwed up..multiple times! Not me! To not try and make the situation right for a customer is horrible business. The staff here was amazing we just moved to Phoenix and we found the review on Yelp to be awesome. So we took our little precious poodle who was in dire need of a hair cut. They turned her into a fur angel. She was not stressed by the cut which is a miracle. Overall the shop was super clean with out any foul smells. Will be returning for another cut. read more

I have a 3 month old poodle mix, so I was searching for a place the had mostly good reviews. I called to setup an appointment in advance. I dropped him off and he went right to the groomer. She picked him up and held him, and Niner seemed very comfortable. I dropped him off @230 and he was done by 5pm. They did a great job on him, and he a had a little extra pep in his step. He even got a little mohawk which was too cute. When I picked him up they also had me pick an egg out of the basket to win a prize. The prize was a basket full of dog toys and treats which Niner is having a field day with. I would totally recommend this place and I am definitely taking him back! read more

Going to the groomer is forever a traumatic experience for both my dog & I. He is a precious maltese bischon who loves having shaggy hair & rubbing his body all over the carpet, towel, etc. post bathtime. I do my best to brush him regularly, but after a few months without grooming he is inevitably on his way to becoming a rasta dog w/little white dreads.. That's when the stress ensues. Many groomers have judged me before for his tangles or for the short haircut I hoped they could give him. I don't care if it's 'breed appropriate' I want it to be Louie appropriate :) (& affordable...) The places I have found that I like are usually too pricey, and the mid range places usually won't listen to my request so I'm still paying $55+ and am leaving unhappy, and left waiting for my pups hair to grow out. Fancy Pets was none of those things. I was able to schedule an appointment quickly, they were very friendly, and Louie liked it too. Their prices are breed/size specific, but on the phone I was told that a cute for my guy would be $40 and that if he was particularly matted it would cost an additional $5. I said, "He's pretty matted" fully expecting to pay the extra $5. She also told me that all of their cuts were full service & included nails, anal glands, etc (stuff you have to ask for or pay for at many other places). I was sold. Today I dropped Louie off and though he was excited, he seemed comfortable in the groomer, Staci's, arms. When I came to pick him up he was in a large barred crate, stacked upon other ones with other happy dogs. He doesn't always enjoy being crated but he seemed comfortable and very excited to see me. He looked great! She handed me his collar which was adorned with a red, white, and blue ribbon bow (cuter than the lame bandanas most groomers give), she handed Louie to me, and announced my total of $40. After seeing all those knots- she didn't even charge me the extra five? What a sweetheart. Louie and I have been hanging out all afternoon and he seems like my normal Lou-devoid of the anxious or embarrassed pup I often bring home after shelling out $70 for his 'spa day'. Fancy Pets is my new go - to groomer- I found them because of Yelp reviews and felt they deserved another gold star. read more

Not the place to take your cat. I swear my cat was traumatized. And her hind end looks horribly cut. It was loud and chaotic. They were an hour later than they said they would be in returning my cat. I believe my cat got a respiratory infection after being there. I had taken her to the vet immediately prior and my cat was fine. I have no other pets and severe OCD so it seems almost impossible she had the infection from my place. Which leads me to believe she had gotten it sometime at the groomers while she was there, from 11:00am-2:00pm. As far as dogs go maybe a good place, but I don't know. I do know.... Not impressed with the quality of their work. Normally my dog would came home smelling fresh for the day after grooming , he did not at this place. They also cut his nails too close at the rear legs and caused him to bleed. My poor baby... they are supposed to be professional? Bath, Nails, Anal Gland, Ears, the whole she-bang + a 83 pound 'overly excited and sometimes skittish at the dumbest things known to mankind' puppy that other groomers will deny because they are haters who refuse to take in dogs that don't fit in your purse = 40 bucks out the door. Yeah, when you go in, you more than likely will question the decor and business. They seem to discourage owners to wait (note absence of any chairs in the huge waiting space they have) and it may seem a little old-school/sketch, BUT when you get your dog back happy, tail wagging at 50 mph, and in less than an hour and a half - nothing else matters. If this isn't a gift from XL Dogs Anonymous Heaven, let me know asap before my puppy becomes the size of beluga whale. read more

Fancy pets is very reliable and friendly pet groomer. I have used them twice over the past year to get my 16 year old long haired cat shaved. I have received great service and a great cut both times. My cat isn't the easiest to deal with yet they were excited before and after the job was done. They even showed me were there appeared to be a thorn in her leg and were quick to recommend places to go.
