Sydney and Mike were incredibly welcoming from the moment I walked in. It was my first time visiting, and Sydney was especially friendly and did an amazing job with my dog, Mr. Smokey. At one point, he even threw himself on the floor, and she handled it so calmly she just started petting him and made him feel comfortable. When I came back to pick him up, he was running around, jumping, and clearly very happy. That says everything about how well he was treated. I even bring my rescue fosters here and they've done crazy emergency grooms for me on heavily matted dogs. They're the only place that can touch my dachshund. Not only do their haircuts look absolutely amazing, but the entire experience was clearly positive for them. No one would take my pup because she's new to grooming and a little feisty. Scooby Do's told me that they would give it a try still and I was already so happy with that, they didn't discount my pup! haha they also said this way could squeeze her in same day, which was awesome!! When we got there, my dog went right into the groomers arms and loved on her... she said she knew my dogs feistiness wouldn't be a problem. I will start by saying the first time we took our dog he came back smelling so good and was so happy! The second time he came back wet but it was okay. This last time I took him, the owner was over 30 minutes late for our scheduled appointment and the surrounding customers told me that this is not uncommon. When he finally showed up I explained my concerns about how my dog's dryness and his timeliness but I ended up being refused service. I understand that every business owner has the right to run how they see suit though. My problem is that he called me a "fat b*tch" among other choice words as I exited the groomers. So overall fine place to get your dog groomed, the owner is nice to you until he is not. Just a very weird experience overall and I hope others can have a better experience with that guy him. Personally, I don't know if that is someone I would want to walk on eggshells around and there are other great groomers in the area. Edit after his comment: He was not on time, there were three people in the lot around us also waiting for him. He mentioned that there was traffic on Broadway and that's why he was late. I took Broadway to get to the shop this morning and got there at the time of our scheduled appointment. I did not leave a review on here until my final interaction with him and I told him that. I am not sure where else he thinks that I reviewed? This man is very rude but if he wants to run his business this way that's fine by me. If you have an anxious or special needs dog please read. It's not that the people were not nice but I know there will be other pet owners like me. I have 2 dogs. My little chihuahua is a social butterfly and my newer dog (medium sized) has trust issues but if she is approached correctly and appropriately she gets comfortable and social. I know my dog. I've been communicating with this grooming service about how she has to feel comfortable first and how there's steps to get her there. The moment I walked in they immediately did everything i had said not to do. When I tried to correct them they still kept doing what I kept saying not to do. The response was " "we have a certain routine we follow and we would not want to put your dog in distress, and we'd appreciate it if you do not coach us through it because we know what we're doing", it was obvious they DID NOT know what they Were doing when they were literally making my dog uncomfortable and distressed.By trying to put her in the kennel immediately and trying to pick her up without letting her get to know them first. he also tried To correct me as the owner that I should know better about taking my dog to the groomers If she is not socialized. Also if your dogs are reactive to other dogs please do not bring them here. (They had two big loose dogs who ran up to my already distressed dog. I love dogs but keeping your dogs loose makes the owners and pet feel unsafe with what could happen.) Point is this man totally undermined me and did not attempt to understand me or my dog ( by the way first time EVER being groomed since she's a rescue). I know my dog was not the issue because immediately after I took her to Paws and Attraction Grooming Services and they listened to everything I said followed all the steps and my dog is happy and sweet wagging her tail while she is getting bathed and groomed. They also allowed me to walk in the back with her so that my pup knows she's safe Which scooby doos grooming service was totally against. I understand they may have their own way of doing things but there are other dogs out there like mine and if you can't listen to directions from people who know their dogs and be patient with special needs dogs then your costumer service will remain mediocre and you will lose potential costumers. Worst service I have received from dog lovers. Please don't be so prideful and understand that just because you have experience it does not mean you can approach every dog the same way. I have a 12 year old long haired chihuahua and I wanted to make sure I found a groomer that had experience, but also compassion with but also at a decent price. Our last groomer moved out of state and we haven't been able to find a golden groomer in over 3 months. Yelp has amazing reviews for Scooby Do's, and after looking over the reviews and calling, I decided to reach out. The owner was very knowledgeable when I inquired about his experience in grooming and he was super nice and helpful. I immediately made an appointment for 4 days out from when I called. It was rockin and rollin for a wednesday afternoon! Michael was super nice and greeted us with a smile and lots of petting.he assured me my pup would be all good, and said my goodbye to Cashy. He called me in a couple of hours later to let me know what he was all done and ready for pick up! Cashy was happy, clean and almost didn't want to leave because of all the new friend he made. He did a wonderful job of trimming, cleaning and drying. I was impressed how dry and smooth he was! We parted ways and they even gave Cashy a treat for the road! So cute and sweet touch. I took my miniature schnauzer here- I got a call about almost 3 hrs later about not being able to groom him. (Prior my pup has been going to the groomer since 11m. Until I had to move- which he was 1.5 yrs old when I took him to scooby-dos). The worker told me an explanation that employees want to go home in one piece and that my dog was trying to bite. Which I am not either confirming or denying. I was unsure. I just accepted it and picked up my pup. When I looked at him. All he did was get a bath! That's all. I also payed full payment. Without a question because I felt bad knowing my pup was being bad. When I got in the car. My little dog looked at me- a look I never saw before. Eyes open and staring at me in rage. I am not joking this pup was PISSED. I never seen it before. Ever. You can believe what you want but that was real to me. Freaked me out. The main point I make today after a year is that... since then my dog can't have his feet touched without freaking out on me and showing teeth now. Prior to this appt.... I used to be able to shave my dogs feet and touch his feet with no worry in him..... and now. No he is acting out since then. Today I tried to groom him and he is still continuously giving me aggression for his legs. Ever since this grooming appt. He hasn't been the same with him. I call that trauma. I am not trying to hate but this is all I have to explain the situation. Even with me just trying to groom him. I felt bad for my lil pup so this is the only reason I am making this comment after a year. I just hate this reasoning and it's the only logic time reasoning for his actions. The first time I took my dog Hank to Scooby-Do's to have his nails trimmed they allowed me to assist by distracting Hank while they trimmed his nails. Everything worked out well. Today I went and there was only one person and they said I couldn't assist due to insurance changes, which I understand. I told them that it probably wouldn't work as Hank is very strong and hates having his nails trimmed. But I said he could try, thinking he would use the same grooming table up front like last time. Instead he led Hank to the back room out of my sight. I heard Hank scrambling on the table, then I heard whining noises. At which time I spoke up and said he was stressing out my dog. He then returned Hank to me and said it was a training issue that he couldn't do his job. Not a staffing issue as 2 people would have been able just fine. I failed to examine Hank before I left Scooby-Do, as now that I'm home I've notice Hank has a noticeable limb. I would have accepted, "we can't trim his nails", but instead I have a STRESSED OUT INJURED dog. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER! [edited 1/26/2023] My rebuttal to the owners response: 1. You seem to be making this personal with your "ego" attacks, I'm not, I'm just trying to describe my experience. 2. No "bear hug" was needed, just someone to distract him, thus your speculated hyperbole shows whose telling the truth 3. I said I understood your insurance requirements, so I wasn't expecting special treatment. 4. 30 seconds is not an indepth conversation 5. You failed to explain why you took my dog 30+ft into a back room, where I couldn't see, rather than use the grooming table 8ft from where I handed Hank off to you? If you did, I would have quickly realized that it wasn't going to work and stopped it, without issue. But I only had the disturbing sounds to go by instead. Hank left Scooby-doo's with a limp, I gave it a day to see if the limp was improving, which it did, so I opted not to take him to the vet. 2 days later Hank wasn't showing a limp, so I took him to a better groomer, who was able to clip his nails. No lies here, just simple facts, without Michael's hyperbole. As for our DM's. I didn't redact anything, I simply didn't post the few other DM's. If you thought the other DM's would have shown you in a better light, you should have posted them. If I could leave 0 stars I would not hesitate to do so. When I take my dog in for an appointment, he typically waits longer than necessary. This past Saturday, a normal haircut and groom lasted for over 7 hours. When I called to check on him after 5 hours had passed, they stated they had not even started on him yet. That was at 3:00 and his appointment was at 10. If this were the only issue, then no big deal. I asked for his hair to be cut short all over. I know that my dog is very mild tempered as I have never had a complaint from any other groomer he has been to. They cut his hair so short around his eyes that he was in very obvious pain when I picked him up. This is the highest amount I have ever paid for a grooming service ($55). The reason we chose this place is because it is so close to our home. Seeing how my dog was treated we will not be taking either of our pups here again. This is upsetting as my pups have been here multiple times over the past year. Unfortunately, we are never recognized even though this is the only groomer we have seen in the past year. They act like they don't know me or my dogs. Previous groomers have immediately recognized my pup and know how we like his haircut. read more

They were the best groomers I have ever taken my dog to. I am still trying to find a groomer that lives up to them here in Gilbert, which is why I'm leaving the review now! We called to get our dog groomed for the first time and never have I ever felt so insignificant. Whoever answered our call made us feel completely stupid because our dog hasn't seen a groomer for one year. She isn't only 2 and he made us feel like our dog would be an issue simply because she has never seen a groomer. I found this busniess and thought they would be ideal considering the reviews. when we first took our rescue dog everything was great, he came out smelling amazing and so soft, they told us he doesn't like the dryer and we made note for that next time. when we took him again we got a call saying our dog doesn't like the dryer, after i had told them on drop off he doesn't like the dryer and that towel drying is fine. they said we had to come pick him up early as he was soaking wet. we did that, this next time we made an appointment and on top of the workers being late to open we told them again, he is afraid of the blow dryer and to not do it, he needs to be towel dried. the worker the said "oh we will try again but we have a kennel dryer that isn't loud we can pit him in". I'm frustrated and confused why those things weren't done the last two times? and we went home with a wet dog! I'm glad were moving soon so we don't have to take our boy back to this place, they're nice but just very inconsistent read more

We've been going to see Michael at Scooby Doo's for years. I've highly recommended them to many friends and acquaintances. We've had many encounters with Michael and his staff and its always been a positive experience. We have one dog with high anxiety. It's usually a little stressful for her but in the end she comes out looking beautiful and is quite happy. Michael is a good communicator and sticks to his promised pick up time. We usually get a text message letting us know that the dogs are almost ready and that we could come any time. I like that. The place is clean and check out is a breeze. Pricing is very reasonable. This place did an AMAZING job on my puppy!! HE LOOKS SOOO CUTE!! Feels sooo soft and smells so good!! This was our first time here and I'm so glad we came! He looked so happy coming out, not scared or anxious! I wasn't sure if I wanted to bring him here at first, only cause it was a little bit farther from where I live and I had already taken him somewhere else, but all the reviews seemed so good!! Definitely glad I made the drive over here!! Like I said my puppy looks amazing! They were able to do the works on him! Which I appreciate especially cause he's still new to grooming! I had taken him to a different groomers and they didn't do much only trimmed his nails, butt, tummy and some of his face (barley noticeable) so that's what I was expecting again! UPDATE!!! New Owners! brought my sweet, mellow labradoodle in for her grooming, which shes had done since shes been 9months old, now shes 6 years. I receive a call today saying my dog is being uncontrollable, and crapped on the table, and actually cut himself while grooming my labradoodle. I've never had a problem with groomers cutting her hair, never, but for some reason my dog has become unmanageable for scooby does. So back to the phone call, he states it's going to cost me extra, if I want the job completed, an extra $25, to finish the face, or I can come pick up and pay the $95 for the incomplete job, I said fine, I'll pick her up and get her out of this unprofessional, amateur groomer. I arrive and wait, and wait, then someone finally appears, and then get my sweet dog, and shes frantic, couldn't wait to get out of this torturous place! Michael was kind and quick to get us scheduled. Our dachshund was very scared, and unusually so- idk if it's the new experience or what happened. Michael suggested finding a female groomer, we ended up with another male groomer elsewhere and it went fantastic... I felt really disheartened to be turned away within less than 5 minutes upon arrival when I've seen so many great reviews here and many online videos of groomers dealing with even aggressive dogs. My dog definitely peed and pooped out of fear, that I'll admit, but no aggression. Needless to say we were disappointed. I feel like my dog wasn't given any time to adjust really. I contacted this grooming service in order to receive services for my dog. I have visited this location once previously and was hoping to continue services. when contacting this business, I spoke with the owner regarding scheduling for the upcoming week and the owner confirm to me that they were booked for the next several weeks as it is the holiday season. The owner offered to fit me in during the week as their business hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM and they accept appointments latest 1pm. as a business owner myself I contract with multiple different businesses and ask the owner if he could possibly make a referral to another grooming service that was credible. The owner redirected me to Google and let me know that he would never recommend another service outside of his own. When I was trying to communicate my understanding of this, I was continuously cut off. He seem to be very offended by me, asking for a referral. Again, I am a businesswoman myself, and I understand that it is a holiday season along with inflation, and a very difficult time for small businesses so it was never my intention to offend, but again as a business owner I work with various different businesses, and understand that maybe someone else could provide a service when I am booked completely. And if you look below at his condescending response. I don't know if it's because I'm a black woman that he felt so strongly convicted even in his response.
