Looking for a local groomer to help with nail trims and this spot popped up with high reviews. Booked online and got in same day. The shop is small but I was drawn to the cageless grooming so dogs aren't kenneled the whole time. Aniyah took time putting the loose dogs behind the gates so they could test taking Penny back and she instantly warmed up to her as she walked back. When I rescued Penny, she had never been groomed so her quicks are pretty long, but I liked how they utilize the "alternative cut" style then filing each nail so it's short as possible. While she was nervous on the table, Aniyah did a great job talking to her the whole time and kept her as comfortable as possible. Forgot to take the before, but they came out amazing afterwards. Will definitely be back, especially knowing they do cats too!! read more

Paws w Claws- 10/10 def recommend. I have been bringing my pups here for a little over a year now, and continue to be blown away each time. First, I love that my dogs get to free roam all day. Two, their grooming is always timely for whatever services I ask for. This past Friday i dropped my dogs off at 9 and they were done by 1130. I was at work until 5, so my Mom picked them up for me instead, with no issues. Third- Communication through text is excellent, including payment processing options. I simply cannot say enough good things. My dogs always come back happy, smelling fresh, NO NICKS OR CUTS, and NO coughing(iykyk). If you're in the area definitely give them a try. read more

Paws with Claws took amazing care of our Layla while we vacationed for 10 days. We got daily updates, which was beyond comforting.

This was my 2nd visit and it was the worst I and my dog have ever experienced. There were so many dogs and people in a small place it was uncomfortable for me and my dog. The groomer didn't listen to me and scaled her so that there are places where you can see her skin. I specifically ask for her legs and paws not be groomed but they were anyway. Dogs and cats were loose also causing concern. I'm not sure I will go back. I have safety and health concerns with taking my dog back. I don't know if all of these animals have updated vaccine. Really large dogs with small dogs is also a major concern read more

Haley is incredible! My pup Cora has always been super anxious about grooming -- she's refused to let anyone touch her before. I was nervous to try again, but Haley worked wonders! She was so patient and gentle, and somehow gave Cora the cutest haircut ever. You can tell she truly cares about the dogs she grooms. I'm beyond impressed! read more

Vlada Markov used to be our dog walker when I had my first hip replacement. She was always reliable and friendly and fun. My dog loved her then she opened up her own business paws with claws and I've been taking my sheep a doodle Bella there for several years they use a system that is no crate And the dogs get to roam free and interact. It is so inspiring and fun to watch. This last groom she even found a tooth that was infected and alerted us to that and now we have an appointment with Dr. Dunning at countryside animal Hospital. She and her whole staff just love the animals and give them the care that they so deserve. thank you Vlada. read more

They did an amazing job giving my kitty her first cut. She turned out fabulous and didn't appear stressed.

I love Paws with Claws! I brought my dog for a trim and they followed my guidance perfectly. The groomer was very attentive and asked clarifying questions about the exact look we were going for and she did a wonderful job. Their menu is very itemized so you can choose all of the services you are looking for and leave out the ones you don't need. read more

Paws With Claws Pet Spa & Resort - My dog got a cute trim - Pet Groomers Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Love this place! Super cute and clean with reasonable pricing. My small Maltese got full service groom, which includes bath, cut, nail trim, and teeth brush for $60 and I'm totally satisfied. For me, it doesn't matter even if groomers aren't like super skillful, as long as they groom my pup clean and look okay-ish and gives some love and care while grooming, I'm totally ok with it. But this place, this nice sweet groomer, I could tell she'd give some love and care to my pup AND she did a really good job grooming my pup. She asked what I wanted for my dog and she really did groom my dog as I said and even better. My pup looks so so cute now! And I liked how this place has text communication system as well as phone and online booking system! I will definitely come back here again!!! read more

I take my grand pup here and wouldn't go anywhere else. The team members truly love animals and it shows! This is his trip home after our latest visit on Saturday. I had several "meh" experiences with multiple groomers before I found this lovely little spot. Now we ONLY go here. You will be a raving fan too- all it takes is one visit to feel the difference in care and attention for your furry family members. Highly recommend! read more

Took my dogs on Friday to get haircuts. Their appointment was at 2:30. It took them 7 hours! The prices were outrageous. They didn't even give us any kind of discount of having our poor dogs waiting for 7 hours. What was the purpose of an appointment then they would charge me 5 dollars extra because he was never in my 11 years of grooming, him never told somthing like this they are rip offs!!! read more

Best groom ever!! My elderly male Maine coon was long overdue for a groom and unfortunately had severe matting. Vlada, the owner, went above and beyond to keep me updated throughout the entire process with text messages and pictures which was a very personal touch that I had never experienced with any groomer before. She was understanding, kind and extremely patient with my 15 y/o fur baby as he has an irregular heartbeat. I could not be more satisfied with how stress-free her service was. Thank you so much Vlada! read more

If I could give this place ZERO, I would. Took our dogs in and was quoted 2-3 hours. FIVE HOURS LATER, we pick them up and immediately noticed thing weren't usual, but didn't notice how bad until we got home! They cut all of my dogs long hair off and made both of our dogs look choppy all over! I called and left a voicemail about my anger about the cuts and the price they thought was worth the work they did. Did hear back so I called again the next day and spoke to the owner! Explained to her what was wrong and she said "most people want this cut in Arizona" and if you look back and their bad reviews in the past she states the same thing. That's her excuse for doing crappy work. I told her to look at the picture she sent us and tell me she believes that's good work. She said "I can see where it's shorter than other areas but that's what most people want in Arizona" I asked for a refund and she said "we did a good job and we don't do refunds" We had to dispute the charge because she believed she did good work and even admitted they should've done a consultation but the front desk girl "was new" They as groomers should see a dog like mine and know how to care for his hair. I'm attaching what a good groomer does versus what they sent my dog home looking like. DO NOT GO HERE! RIP OFF COMPANY The bandana pictures are how he's looked after his grooming normal, and the ugly pic is what they did to him. UPDATE: just texted us and said that the haircut is normal in Arizona!! NO ITS NOT read more

Had an appointment to have both my dogs bathed and brushed, once there the price was not honored. I was upsold an additional deshedding service, then told there would be an extra charge on top of that. After I was given the new "estimate" the total had another $25 added that was not explained. I would be very wary of such business practices and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Zero stars. On 9/2/23 our precious Bentley (Frenchie) endured traumatic negligence in the hands of business owner Vlada and her staff. Vlada made the decision to allow Bentley to be in distress for 58 minutes before her staff called me to say that "Bentley was having labored breathing, his tongue is turning purple and he was having trouble standing." When I arrived to pick up Bentley (6 minutes from receiving call) Bentley was handed to me in my arms limp! This grooming appointment landed Bentley in the Vet Emergency resulting in surgery. I contacted Vlada via phone call to find out what happened & what they did to Bentley, this is when I learned from Vlada that "she & her staff person pocked around Bentley's throat 4 to 6 times" when questioned on what qualified them to do that they're groomers and why wouldn't you have communicated this to me when your staff called or when I picked him up, she had the audacity to say "if you would have asked for me I would have come out to talk to you." Even after hearing how poorly & unprofessionally she handled this traumatic experience, in good faith I asked this business owner to do right by Bentley by covering his Vet medical bills to which she has been completely unresponsive to our reasonable ask. DO NOT trust your loving fur babies in this callus, neglectful business owners hands. Pet Parents beware... share with other pet owners. Ooh and she billed my son for servicing Bentley as they made the decision to continue to service Bentley while he was in distress; they internally cleaned his anal glands & cut his nails while he was in crisis! UNBELIEVABLE.......... Vlada your response yet again shows your lack of integrity as a business owner! You're out right lying publicly. You NEVER stated to me you administered CPR, I asked you if Bentley was unresponsive when you said "you and your staff pocked around" in Bentley's throat you said No, so why would you be administering CPR to a dog who isn't unresponsive? You also state you stopped services yet you billed my son for full services for Bentley. Which is it!? You administered CPR and didn't call a Vet you called me, you stopped services yet you billed. DO NOT take your loving pet to this groomer! You'll regret it. read more

I could cry over how relieved and deeply appreciative I am of the handle and care they took with our HIGHLY anxious dog, Scout. They took their time being with him and calming him. It has always been a struggle to take him to the vet and groomers and I have to admit, I gave up taking him bc it was a source of anxiety for BOTH of us. BUT it was time, he had matted hair that was getting out of control. Vlada and her team are truly a godsend. Not only did I not feel judged bringing him in looking like a wild animal but I felt very understood and felt her patience with us while we navigated a muzzle on him. I have never had a better experience with groomers such as this place. I'd 100% use them again if they'd have us! read more

My mom found this Pet Spa and recommended it to me and I couldn't have been happier! Chia, our little Pomtzu got a spa day and she came back looking super adorable. I think this place is really great because the dogs are never ever stressed out when they come out to meet their owners. I've seen my mom pick up her dogs and I've taken Chia here before as well and we had incredible results. Chia was severely overheating with her long hair so we decided to get it trimmed pretty short for a Pom, and Tina the stylist did an INCREDIBLE job!!! We really love the way Chia looks after her haircut, she now looks like a baby Shiba Inu which brings us a lot of joy because she finally looks comfortable and doesn't look like she is overheating. It's a super safe place for your pups, we love it and we were very happy with our service there. They really do a great job! read more

I took my cat for a grooming session (just a bath & brush) on August 31st, and noticed behavioral changes when we came back home. My cat seemed stressed but I did chalk that up to usual stress whenever she leaves the house. But she did not eat her food all day and half of the next. She began to have difficulty jumping from place to place and would end up falling on the ground ungracefully. This morning, I noticed blackened areas on her left hind leg. These were super noticeable because her paws and legs are completely white. After lightly touching them to see if it was some sort of powder, I've confirmed that it's the change of color in her skin and that it was a huge bruise. After recounting our days and steps to see where these bruises came from, I know it all started after a grooming session with this business. I am very upset, I can understand that cat grooming can be difficult but there should be a line of how much force is being used to restrain cats. read more

First time going to paws with claws and I am so happy with the results! My cat Marty is very anxious and hates baths; but they were so gentle and patient with him. They gave him a trim, clipped his nails, a bath, and even shaved his booty and some of his underbelly because of matting. If your cat is a biter, they can muzzle them if they absolutely have to, although they didn't with Marty and he IS a biter usually. They texted me updates throughout the process and even sent a picture of him after his bath. I am ecstatic to have found such a caring place for my cats to be groomed at and will be going to paws with claws again! read more

Update: the owners reply claims she refunded us for the "haircut portion." For one, this did not happen, and two, that stool leaves a 150$ bill for a terrible service. Evidently a "haircut" means shaving your dog down to next to no hair. We requested them to be "cleaned up to be ready for summer, but nothing crazy." The girl at the front desk told me that there's nothing in between a haircut and a trim. So I guess it's either get your dog cleaned up a bit or have them take 2 inches off and leave your dog furless. I now have a German shepherd who looks like a freshly sheared sheep and a pit bull who looks like a mountain lion. I don't see how anyone who's groomed a dog before could think that someone could actually want the "style" that they gave to my dogs. I'd suggest being VERY CLEAR on what you want. Thanks for the 10% off of the 200$ tab. 180$ to have my dogs looking terrible for the next two months still isn't what I'd call a good deal. Edit: The owner called the day after posting this review and she asked what she could do to make it right. She admitted there was some miscommunication on their end but the excuse was that "take a little off and get them cleaned up can mean different things to different people." Evidently that spectrum goes as far as shaving a German shepherd bald. I said if they knocked half of the price off that still wouldn't fix it, but we would feel better about giving them further business. She offered an additional 15% off and refused to go any further. So, still, we've paid 150$ for our dogs to look ridiculous for the next two months. 0 out of 5, will never come here again. read more

The last groomer I went to traumatized my doggy. He's been to the groomer before but I knew the next grooming office I pick has to be professional and gentle. The people working here are very genuine and kind not once did I feel uneasy or scared to leave my doggy here. He was snuggled the second he walked in the door. He is a timid doggy but the people here truly made him feel taken care of. They may have forgot to clip the nails but after one phone call and a little trip they made a wrong. Right. Very respectable and loving establishment. I'm beyond impressed I'd be happy to send anyones puppy here to be groomed Thank you!! read more

We were traveling down to the valley last minute, which is where we always get our dogs groomed, so we called every groomer to try to get our dog in (normally we try to book weeks in advance). Everywhere was booked, including Paws with Claws. Paws with Claws called us back an hour later and said there was a cancellation and they could get our dog in, which we appreciated the call back. My husband dropped our dog off and left smiling after seeing how friendly the staff was with the dogs there. They also do not use cages/crates. The dogs that were there at the time were all very small so we were a tad nervous dropping off our 80lb nervous doodle, but they did SUCH a good job and our dog left happy. We always groom our doodle even all over, rather than the classic doodle look. We've dropped our dog off at a groomer, asking for even all over and picked him with the fluffy ears and snot more than we've picked him up with the cut we asked for so we were super pleased that they listened to what we were looking for. It is a bit pricier than our normal place we go to when we are in Phoenix, which is the only factor that may sway us to go there instead. read more
