First off Addie was great I have a 14 pound multipoo named Benny he can be pretty mean when it comes to other people try to touch him this was my first time here and when I got there I met Addie and I explained how he acts and honestly I thought I was just going to get turned away right away because I asked if we could put on a muzzle on him because he can be snappy to people and she said yes so when she tried to put the muzzle on Benny did try and bite it and after that I thought we were gonna get turned away but she asked if I could install it for her so I did and after that Benny was sacred but Addie start petting Benny and gaining trust from him and he was just nervous and calm after a few minutes I handed him to her and left an hour and 15 mins went by I get a call from her saying he is all ready which I was shocked because it had been a while since Bennys last hair cut so he was all matted when I picked him up he looks great! We have a Saint Bernard mix and Dana was great with her. Gave her a few updates on medical issues or things to be aware of and check in was a breeze. Our pup is super furry and I know it takes a lot since I used to groom her. Just don't have the time anymore, but super happy Dana took care of her! So close to home and super convenient. I was a little annoyed by the work they did on my dog. First of all, she is a 24 lbs mini aussie shepherd and they charged me $25 for a large dog, like yeah it's only $5 difference but like... she's not a large dog. Also, she claimed she couldn't finish trimming my dogs nails because she was scared of the drill but like, her nails were so jagged and dull, they honesty hurt worse than when they were long. It feels like when we were doing them at home, which is annoying because that's what we paid someone for. There's things you can do to calm down a scared dog, because my dog is NOT aggressive and she said she wasn't aggressive just freaking out. It was only her 3rd time getting her nails professionally groomed and at Pet Smart they were able to trim and file her nails as well as her the hair around her nails for $20. We will be going to Pet Smart next time. read more

I have been taking my dog to Shelly's since I moved to the East valley. So far no problems. My labradoodle haircut always comes back well groomed, smelling good, nails clipped short and he seems to not have an issue. It's so funny because when I dropped him off, he walked himself to one of the kernels, he knows the routine! DO NOT take your goldendoodle to this place. Bret shaved Ernies head. He now looks like a Weimaraner... They will tell you he had "mats". He's been groomed a dozen times when in the same condition. It's been one week since our husky was groomed and she still smells so clean! Knowledgeable and welcoming staff. One thing to note...our husky does not do well in a crate. The staff was very understanding of this and went above and beyond to call me about 10 minutes before she was done to avoid her spending too much time in a crate...this was greatly appreciated by myself and our dog. My one recommendations would be to transition to a cashless system. This is not only safer for their employees, it's way more convenient for the customers! Cash or check only?! It's 2024! There are several signs posted advising customers they only accept cash or check, however I assumed there were still Venmo or Zelle option....nope. Cash or check. I had to leave my husky there, find a bank and withdraw cash! It's such an inconvenience and makes the employees and the shop a target with cash on the property. 5/5 would recommend to anyone with a dog and especially a husky in this desert heat. We have been taking our English Cream Golden Retriever here for a few years now and they have always taken great care of our boy! He gets a bath, hair trim, and nails done for $85. The staff are all super friendly and kind towards the dogs. They do keep the dogs separated in cages while not being groomed but I like that so they don't have any unwanted interactions between dogs. Our boy is usually done within 3-4 hours of being dropped off and comes out looking like a distinguished gentleman! New ppl who simply don't pay attention to what they are told too and very rude. Teddy has been going since he was 4 months and never had a problem till now. He always gets a trim and a half inch cut and this new groomer shaved my double coated dog!! My dog has been itching so much from the shave burn she did on him!! I took my dog back for him to get fix asap she claimed we told her to leave half inch which we would never. Also, Teddy has only stayed there nomore than 3 hrs he was dropped off at 11:40 and didn't pick him up till 5:40 for him to be shaved!! I stayed there the entire time while he was getting fixed the whole time when I told the groomer she did not say a word or apologized. My pup Sandie is always well taken care of at Shelly's. I get so worried because she doesn't play well and has a fear of men but Shelly taught me that if the others pups don't care that my pup Sandie is there, my pup doesn't really care they are there. She also did very well with the guy who works there. I think this has a lot to do with the loving and caring staff. Do not go here, unless it's just for a bath. I'm SO sad. My baby is only 15 weeks (labradoodle). I carried him in, as he hasn't had all of his puppy shots yet), and Sara said she could trim his eyes and under hair. My puppy was scared and flailing so I stepped out thinking he may calm down. He didn't. So I came back in and she was getting pretty loud with him- Said he needed tough love. She said I need to touch his face, paws, and brush him so he calms down Mind you, he's a baby and I brush him every day, he has no issues getting his nails trimmed- he's a really good boy. I got home and saw that she burned him with the clippers on his inner thigh and in his snout. I would be freaking out too!! She literally scared the "poop" out of him. At first I liked Shelly, but I should've known something wasn't right when my two dogs, Bentley, and Arthur would run when she arrived to groom them. They didn't like her. Bentley had to have knee surgery when he was two years old, I don't know if she had anything to do with this injury but I have a feelling she did. I think he fell off the table. He was only eight pounds and he's a little love. What ended our service with her is when she razor burned Bentley's stomach in several areas. I called her and told her, her response was, "I did the best I could do". Apparently she fell and her hand was wrapped up. I told her she shouldn't be working. I ended up finding another groomer, my dogs loved her! We have since moved and have another groomer and there are no problems. Keep an eye on your beloved pets, they will let you know. read more

Called this morning to see if they could just do an ear shave and they said yes! let me just be blunt.. this was my first experience and definitely my last. I came in for a regular trim,clip,ect. *it's cash only so please be aware *currently some staff is new. Due to that my doggy was nicked up everywhere. (Dog is 2 years old and is very used to grooming at this point so squirming is not something he does anymore) *nails were a little over clipped and there was some bleeding *as unfortunately as it is. I've taken my dog here for years, but no more. After her summer cut, they clipped her so close that she had clipper burn for a week. I arrived early today to pick up my dog from Shelley's Pet Grooming in Tempe. I am so happy I did because I was able to see through the glass windows, the groomer, Oksana, mistreat my 7 lb. senior dog. I saw Oksana with my own eyes angrily yank my dog around on the dog table, while Shelley sat at the adjacent booth looking at her phone. The groomer, Oksana, saw me through the window and I am sure she was frightened to the core, because she said nothing. She wouldn't look at me when I entered. When I went in, I told her. "Yes, I saw what you did. Don't touch her, I will take her as she is. I saw what you did." Shelley, the owner said nothing. I told Shelley then and there that I would not be returning. I also said it was taking everything out of my being to remain civil. I am so terribly upset. Yes, I paid Shelley because I had the booking with her, for had I not, this event would have turned out differently, stereotypes being what they are. I am not a person to complain in order to skip out on a bill. I believe in an equal exchange of energy. And, I am not a spring chicken and know the laws of the universe. That's why I am thankful I arrived early. So thankful that I was able to see how my dog was being treated. I had been a customer of Shelley's Pet Grooming on Guadalupe and McClintock for years. Still, Shelley said nothing to me, nor did she correct Oksana. Shelley said nothing about what happened. What kind of person sits back and allows another to mistreat an animal that provides your bread and butter? A 7 lb., 13 year old Maltese. I can only imagine what the other visits were like for my little one. I am disappointed but happy I did not take matters into my own hands as Oksana did with my dog. Shelley, you broke my heart. It looked as if she had not even been bathed -- there was still some dried poop on her butt and some matting on her belly. This place is awesome! Everyone there was incredibly friendly and they did a phenomenal job on a German shepherd I found. I don't think he had ever been brushed and his coat was deeply matted. Bobbi had him for a of couple hours and when I picked him up he looked like a completely different dog. I can't recommend Shelly's Pet Grooming enough. read more

We used to come here and most of our experiences was great. But today when I brought my dog there it was someone we never met before that came out to help us. Since the lady that helped us never done my dogs before I communicated with her and clearly told her that please leave the head part and just trim down the body part. But when my wife went to picked our dogs up it turns out to be a disaster. It's literally is just cutting all the hair off and did not follow what we discussed.
