Today was my very first time coming to this groomer. In spite of the pandemic I still work and sometimes cannot give my dog an extra deep clean. I called A Day In Paradise and they had immediate openings, so I booked Jada for an appointment.i really wish I got the woman names who helped me today, was amazing!! She greeted me, asked if I have ever been there before. The place the clean and Welcoming. Most grooming places appear like doctors offices and Jada Shakes just walking in the door. Today, she didn't shake to much and she definitely knew this woman could be trusted, Jada cooperated with her and did not want to run away. This was a great place. It was fast, they treated my dog with a lot of care. We got a simple wash & De-shed done and Nails clipped. It came out to $60 bucks which is very reasonable and expected for my dog. This was a wonderful experience as we will be back again. 100% satisfied especially with the response, friendliness, quality of care, & Also they require Masks Upon entry, and I support ALL business who impose masks for safety. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and other Doggo-Parents. This location is convenient. Have brought my 3 dogs here several times throughout the years and every time it is worse. Will not be back ever. The last time I took 2 of my dogs to get a full haircut. They did ok on one of my dogs but hardly touched my other dog-half of a haircut-didn't cut around her muzzle, nails not trimmed, They called and said they were done around 3pm and I said I would leave in a little while-they knew I was an hour away. I called them on my way about 4pm to get the amount I owed them-that's when she said they closed at 4 and they were out of there at 4. I said I was 10 minutes away and certainly they would wait. No-only if I got there in a few minutes. These people care nothing about our little dogs. BEWARE!! read more

Omg this place is awful! I brought my dog here and when he got home he had a three inch cut on his tail and was in a lot of pain when I tried to touch it. I called her immediately and she didn't answer. I then called the next day and she was really rude saying that I needed to call back when they were open. Excuse me? My dog is bleeding. She told me "uh is there a problem." YES THERE Is. you hurt my dog and never even mentioned it to me. Will never go back here. I came in from out of town to pick my doggies up today! Yes it is raining, but my dog shouldn't look or smell like a trash bag. Above all the tips I give this service, she still treats me dog like this. Not to mention she also fabricated on giving my dog a bath yesterday upon arrival, he was very dirty, I was very disappointed, and dissatisfied! As I was picking up my dog I also witnessed her aggressively picking a dog up by their neck and putting the white poodle in the cage. This made me think, are you doing this to my dog? **UPDATE** No one from this business has contacted me in regards to my review. They must not care what people have to say. Every time I try to attempt to brush my dog he runs away from me now. Before his visit here he had no issues whatsoever. I can only imagine what they did to him while he was there. Never again will he go here. Save your money and protect your dogs wellbeing and stay far far away from here. I hate to have to do this because it seems like everyone loves this place, but I did not have a good experience. My dog was there for about 3.5 hours on a Saturday. I dropped him off at 11 and picked him up at about 2:30. I thought everything was great until I got him home. I noticed that I could see the clipper blade marks on his back and a line where they missed his hair. It also looks like they never even touched his paws with a scissors. I ended up having to cut the hair from between his pads because it was so long. His belly also was shaved but has a ton of hair that was missed. You can also see the blade marks on his nose. I really wanted to like this place, but it looks like my dog was just rushed over. I also noticed he has some nicks as well. I've attached photos so that you can see. He's really bad about his face and legs and they did a great job of getting everything done, he also had a really bad scab that I couldn't get off and they got it off for me. My fiance and I have taken our labradoodle here in the past and was satisfied with our services. Today we took our dog into the store a week before our wedding and specified a trim on the feet, butt, and face. We were not aware that a "trim" actually meant a full blown haircut, as he is still a puppy and we have only had him groomed a handful of times. The last time we went there they also told us he should not be cut for a year, as to protect his undercoat. We wrongly assumed that still held, because he was 6 months old. It didn't cross our minds that they would assume that we wanted a haircut. When we came to pick the dog up they had completely shaved him. He went from 4 inches of hair to less than half an inch. We asked for a trim. If I were to go in for a hair cut and say a trim they would not cut all of my hair off. Not only did they do this then they tried to charge us fifty dollars instead of thirty-five which would have been for a hygiene trim. Our hope was to use him in our wedding and the trim would make sure that he was looking good to walk our rings down the aisle. Now he looks completely different and feels ashamed, will not play with us, and is still in the corner as if he is being punished. When my fiance and I called to complain and ask for a refund he was treated poorly, talked to in a harsh and raised voice, and to top it all off they hung up on him. They proceeded to leave us another angry voicemail and told us that Baloo was "not a good fit for their services" and we were "not welcome to come back." This is not how you treat a customer. I understand a service was performed, but if a service does not meet a customer's standards or requirements a restitution is made or the services is provided again free of charge. read more

I bring my Shih Tzu here for grooming, I appreciate the hours and the groom. I'm not certain if anyone has has mentioned this, but they are a cash only business. Only accessible from west bound Main Street and is in a relatively quiet strip mall, but it can be busy based on what time you come. Very little shade and a pretty unsafe place to bring your do unless on-leash. I would say their grooming is average, $45 for grooming plus add on's like teeth cleaning etc. I wish they were open on Monday as that's the best day for me, but apparently not for grooming services as they are not the only ones who are closed Sunday and Monday. read more

I took my dog there for the second time and when I return to pick him up the guy told me cash only, I asked why and he pointed to a "conveniently located ATM inside the place for a fee. I return after went to my bank and I asked the owner since when she only takes cash, and why, she has the signs in the door that states she takes visa, MasterCard , etc and she responded "I choose to take cards sometimes but I'm trying to get away from it and it's my policy" She was rude. I don't mind cash but not being upfront and "choose" from who your going to take debit cards it's just discriminatory. Horrible customer service. read more

Came here maybe two weeks ago or so. They were able to fit my pups in fairly last minute when their normal groomer had a scheduling error. They were clean but for the cost, I expected a bit more. One of my pup's nails were hardly trimmed...and that was my biggest concern. They seemed like nice enough people but I can't throw away another 60 bucks on this. The photo was taken right after I came home and felt them clawing at my legs. Also, another thing that bugged me is when I brought them in the cashier told me to watch out for a big puddle of urine. Took my two dogs in-a mini poodle and a chihuahua/poodle mix-and they were incredibly patient with my wild 9 month chi-poo. They both came out looking great and refreshed from all that hair they had. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE IF YOU WANT THEM TOGET INJURED!!!!! If I could put a negative star or zero on this review I would. I booked last minute an appointment. I came back and waited in the lobby a half hour for my dog(which was fine). I got her and left. The next day I noticed my dog had a severe clipper burn all down her leg. I was more upset that the groomer had not told me this happened. I called and the lady on the phone said my dog had that injury when she came in. Then she contradicted herself and said they had a lot of aggressive dogs to deal with that day and mine probably wasn't behaving we'll for them. My dog is the most timid mild dog ever not to mention she's 9 years old. I asked for the issue to be resolved and for someone to acknowledge their fault. They lady hung up on me. For a grooming salon to not even acknowledge their fault then come up with excuses and then hang up on a customer. WORST GROOMING EXPERIENCE I've seen!! I have been taking my pets here for a while. Although I think they do an excellent job, I've been over charged a few times and the lady in the front is very rude. They ask for a tip and if you don't tip they charge you extra anyways. I am not going to bring my dogs here anymore due to the rude customer service. read more

My little puppy had never been groomed before and though she is usually a very mild dog, she does not like to be groomed. However, the staff here was very friendly and they handled her very well. If I could give zero stars I would! I took my dog to be groomed on 3-17-18. When I got him home I noticed a cut on his right side. I contacted the business and after I explained there was a cut on the right side she said oh he had a tick there. There is a sign posted in the groomers saying if a tick is found owners will be contacted and charged for treatment. This never happened. When I picked him up nothing was said to me either. I told her this was not from a tick it's a cut. She asked me to text her a picture & said she would call me back. She never did. I called her twice and left a message. I then texted her to see if she got the picture. She finally responded via text. She was extremely rude and this time had a completely different excuse and then blamed the cut on my dog. She continued to send me unprofessional rude texts. I told her we expected a refund and she refused. Saying her job is extremely hard and our 15 lb dog is extremely difficult. I find it hard to believe someone who says they have 18 years experience can't groom a 15 lb dog. This business also quit taking credit cards or checks. They are cash only. When I was there there were only 2 people working and a lot of dogs! The staff members children are there running around and getting the dogs worked up. They have gone way downhill since we first started taking our dogs there and the original staff are all gone. The price is always different and it seems like they are running a very shady business. I have been taking my dogs, Max and Houdini to A Day in Paradise for years and was super happy with the service until today's visit. Extra charges for tick/flea bath and received NO phone call to let me know they found ticks. My dogs have never had ticks or even fleas before so don't know how they got them? Found out management changed in November and not happy with the services today at all. I may give them a second chance because I had always had good service previously. I usually don't write reviews and this should have been written years ago when it happened but it has been bugging me since! I didn't think it would be this grooming places fault but we've already been taking our dog to grooming appointments with PetSmart for a couple years. We were thinking it was overpriced and decided to venture somewhere else. We drop him for his appointment here, go home, end up finding out they called us already telling us we need to go back and pick him up because he had a seizure! At this point I'm freaking out! Drive over there as calmly as I can and we rush into the salon.. They just bring him out and start to ring us up! Like if nothing just happened with him..I asked so everything is okay??? The lady said, yeah I ended up just finishing the haircut so you can just take him now...So I said okay.. few hours later at home, he ends having a seizure in my bed, it was a very traumatic experience for me, I literally thought he would die.. We took him to banfield in PetSmart but we were turned away because seizures are an emergency(!!!) thing that the vca could handle(by then he had three seizures)we took him there where he was loaded up with phenobarbital(we had to sign up for a credit card with them to be able to pay this expense..) and now has to be on medication for the rest of his life!! Now he's terrified to be taken to any place, shakes like a leaf. This place and other grooming places need to be educated in these things, to know when to say, hey you need to take him RIGHT AWAY to an emergency hospital because seizures for dogs damage their brain! :( And it all started at this place.. read more

I got my Shih Tzu in 2006 and the person I got him from highly recommended this groomer. They were at a different location but have now moved to the main street location which is even better for me. This place is absolutely the best groomer around. I have 4 dogs and take them there ALWAYS to get them groomed. Don is the best and very flexible with my schedule. I have dropped them off at 7 and picked them up at 5. The best part is that it is only 30 bucks for a small dog and they do an superior job. If you are even thinking about trying this place just go for it, you will not be let down! read more

I called last minute and they took me right in, then I told them my timeline and they got my Lab all groomed up and pretty within the limits I gave and didn't have to cut any corners to accomplish it! This place is ridiculous. My grandmother brought her Chow in for grooming and the "groomer" basically tortured her dog. The expert level of this "groom" is sad and can be done by ANYONE with a pair of scissors and at least 3 years old. There are cuts and yes she was bleeding when she was returned. Vickey the "groomer" called 2 hours later because Chowie was pooing and peeing from nervousness and anxiety, the lady was UPSET at the fact that a dog was reacting by how it was mistreated. My grandmothers dog is sweet and a little skittish, if ANY dog can not be groomed due to their behavior they should be returned immediately or notified the services will not be completed. The "groomer" had her there for 2 hours and my grandmother received the call. Chowie is now not only MORE skittish but she will never trust a groomer again due to this ladies disgusting style of "grooming". The pictures that were to me made me feel ill and completely furious. This grooming establishment needs to evaluate this lady and take her license away. The sad part is my grandmother just asked for a bath and a comb for her dog and I can't imagine how my grandmother felt after her best friend of 7 years was returned shaved and bleeding. VICKEY will never cut Chowies hair again and she will NEVER return to this... "salon" again. Keep your animals away. If I could select zero stars I would. I been taking my dogs to this shop for a few years now. I have never been more disappointed or angry about the service received on 5/23/2018. My husband had dropped off both our dogs in the morning and picked them up about noon. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and nothing was said except what the charge was for the grooming. When he returned home he noticed that one of our dogs had an injury to her ear. Later that day when I saw for myself what her ear looked like I was beyond upset. Her ear was not just injured but was missing a piece. I immediately called the shop and left a voicemail. I expected a phone call in return and by the next day when I did not receive a call I left another voicemail. What I got in return was a text message apologizing for the oversight in not mentioning anything to my husband when the dogs were picked up. I also received a lame explanation that my dog had a small scab on her ear and when they were grooming that area the scab came off and started to bleed. They cleaned the area and applied liquid bandage to our dog. I explained that our dog did not have a previous injury to her ear and that it wasn't just a scab that had come off, literally a piece of her ear was now missing. I immediately sent them a picture and stated that this was no way to conduct business that I expected a voice to voice with someone since they clearly injured my dog. They tried to say that text was way better that way they had the picture to show what they had done. I demanded a refund including the tip I had left and all they would do was return the grooming fee. We had to wait two days to pick up the money we spent and when my husband returned to the shop they didn't even acknowledge him or discuss what had happened. They simply handed him an envelope and went about their business. Needless to say we did not get the $50 we spent to have our dog groomed only the $40 for the service. I will never return to the shop and advise all dog owners to be warned that they do not care about your pets.
