I took my dog there just for her nails to be clipped. I was speaking with the owner and asking him if there was anything to do for her shedding. She's a Jack Russell and evidently they shed a lot. He told me about a product they use and asked if I wanted to do it today. I said yes. The service was amazing. My dog finally has all that extra fur off of her. Absolutely terrible experience. I had been a loyal customer for quite some time, and I only tolerated the arrogant and dismissive attitude of the owner because the groomers had previously done a decent job. That all changed when they completely ruined my dog's grooming--years of growing out his coat destroyed in one visit. They literally shaved him down and blamed me that it was what I asked for.. after him getting the same trim with them for the last 2 years. They knew they were wrong for messing him up and couldn't even apologize. His fur is super choppy, his legs have been shaved down, his privates are all exposed and bald. Such a botched job. I approached them respectfully and simply asked for a partial refund, thinking any professional business would own up to a mistake. Instead, the owner started YELLING in my face and they kicked me out of the establishment. No accountability, no apology, just defensiveness and blatant disrespect. AVOID THIS GROOMER AT ALL COSTS! They let our dog run away! They kept saying that they let the dog groomer who didn't follow safety procedure go, kept saying sorry, they had security footage and I asked for it. They said they felt uncomfortable...and they claimed "what was the crime?". If it wasn't a crime they should have been able to give us the footage.They don't take responsibility, you can keep saying sorry all you want but it doesn't negate the fact that it's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CARE FOR A DOG IN THE ABSENCE OF AN OWNER! Never coming back here again, and you shouldn't either. Otherwise they will gaslight you and say "your mind is playing tricks with you!" and then start to blame your dog. When all they could've done is either have two groomers work on our dog, or at the first sign of kennel aggression, call us and say our dog can't be groomed. RESPONSE TO OWNER: The owner is also lying in the response, obviously did not listen...WE USED TO HAVE A DOG, BUT DIED BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE MESSED UP AND LOST OUR DOG AND DID NOT TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY. They got hit by a car and we had to put it down...shows how much they listened. Also, I recorded our conversation in the salon. I listened to it again and remember DISTINCTLY saying "If he was biting, then why didnt you just call us??!" Lastly, our dog was NOT FOUND AN HOUR AFTER HE RAN AWAY...he escaped at 10AM to be found at 4:30PM! 10/10!! Michael was able to accommodate me the same week on a busy Saturday for my new puppy. They were all booked up and he texted me as soon as there a cancellation. DO NOT GO HERE. I never leave reviews for places and hate doing this but I paid $75 plus a $15 tip for my dog to get an extremely choppy, rushed haircut. I could have done the job they did, her legs are extremely choppy and I asked to trim the top of my dogs ears and they chopped a few times and asked "is that good?" The groomer was rushing her haircut and seemed annoyed. I do not recommend Looking Sharp Dog Grooming to anyone and will never return. They messaged us that we only brought her in for a bath/brush however when we called we specifically stated we want a springer haircut on the phone before we drove from Buckeye and at the location. We took our long haired Border Collie in for a summer cut. Dakota did EXACTLY what we asked for. She was patient and managed to do what numerous other groomers could not. Jake looks great and feels so much better without his heavy coat. We will be maintaining his new look with regular visits. I have to admit, I was so happy when I saw Jake that I got a bit talkative. Sharing the facts of what occurred last Wednesday when I dropped my dog off at Looking Sharp Dog Grooming in Scottsdale. My dog ended up lost, hit by a vehicle, taken to vet once WE found her, and was unable to walk on her own for two days and not one time was called to by groomer to check on our dog. Not once until I contacted her to update her. The owner, Olivia, texts at 7:33AM she's running late for our 8AM appointment. She stated arriving 15 minutes late due to "rough morning lol". Our dog had done well with the owner/groomer at her previous employer and after receiving two texts from her offering a discount I thought it'd be okay to try her out at her new establishment. HUGE mistake. Apparently our dog opens a business door now (no video footage available when asked owner following the incident) because she supposedly took off after jumping out of the tub (when left unsupervised). From the time I left her at 8:15AM to when I was called stating she was lost, nearly an hour had lapsed. I'd love to know what happened during this time! It was to only be a wash, no hair cut but yet our dog was dry, with tire markings and defecation from her being hit by a vehicle once my husband found her. Owner stated that she went running after my dog while her husband chased in his truck. He called me with a vicinity of where he last saw our dog while my husband and I drove in two cars praying to quickly find her. She was found in an office complex panting, with bloody paws, defecated and tire markings throughout her left side including on her face. Managed to push her into car as she was unable to walk and drove to groomer to get her collar and leash back to take her to the vet. Owner or husband did not continue to search for a dog that was under their care and was lost under their watch but we are elated we found her, hit by a vehicle, but found alive. Wonderful vet, Dr. Ryan, completed evaluation and confirmed that our dog was hit by a car and by a miracle x-rays and ultrasound determined no broken bones or ruptured organs. Due to our dog being unable to walk more than couple of steps and lying down following the pain meds, I stayed home from work to monitor her Thursday and Friday. Friday afternoon I contacted Olivia to update her and she quickly became defensive after letting her know I didn't appreciate her not even calling ONCE to see how our dog was doing. Even the vet called and he didn't lose her! Olivia stated she would not be covering any vet bill and that if I wanted to do something to go through her LLC. Fortunately we could cover our vet bill and it was more of the right thing to do on her part since she was the negligent one who was entrusted with our dog. Very happy dog! Finding a place for a Golden summer cut has always been tough for us. Olivia asked detailed questions about our pup and what we wanted out of the haircut. It's everything we wanted and you can't beat the price! When I arrived there was a light hair German Shepard leaving, that dog looked gorgeous with a perfect haircut. Per the owners reply to a previous review, they do lock the front door with a sign saying to please knock. This adds some time to drop off and pick up but totally get it. They did move to this location not too long ago so it's a work in progress, 5 starts for the hair cut which matters most! They seem to really love dogs. It's sad to have taken the word of positive reviews and dismiss the bad ones, but that's what I did, and boy am I sorry. This place just knows NOTHING about dog grooming, or customer service. My BF took one of our dogs here back in 2019 and they did a crappy job but I let it go because I'm all for the independent business owner, but when my son told me about his experience here recently, I decided they deserved my review after all. In response to his review, they used his full name (a clear violation of Yelps terms of service) and then pummeted their reply with lies....If I could give them a zero I would. I highly encourage you to PAY ATTENTION to the bad reviews here. Be forewarned. There are many positive reviews here and for all we know, maybe the owner is a great groomer and had 2 terrible days, but the professionalism does not exist. If you live your pet, you wouldn't trust this place with it. Update: I've screen shot these comments and will be contacting Yelp and my attorney. Thanks for the reply! UPDATE #2. The earlier update reflected a barrage of nasty and threatening comments to my review, all of which also used my full name and personal details about me. Thankfully, Yelp has investigated and removed those comments, having determined this business owner did, in fact, violate Yelp's content guidelines. Additionally, I was repeatedly harassed by this business owner for hours yesterday, as she spent almost the entire day editing her threatening comments to me, filling my inbox with notification after notification (see photo.) Really, I'm sad for this business owner...a little constructive criticism never hurt anyone, but rather than move on, she clearly wasted a tremendous amount of time, effort, and emotional duress on her mission to slander me and my son. Ok the bad reviews are not accurate. I emailed them asking for pricing, they gave me $50 for pretty much full grooming treatment. I called, and they got me in the same day. I went in there with Bean, and they were nothing but nice and professional to me. I dropped off Bean, and they called me almost exactly an hour later saying that they're finishing up with my Bean. I went back to pick her up, and her haircut was perfect! She looks like a brand new dog! I paid and go about our way. Will be returning in a couple of months. SCAM, DO NOT GO HERE! I called to make an appointment on Friday for a Tuesday. They don't answer and I get a text back saying its them and would I like an appointment. I said yes we pass back a few details, then they send me a confirmation text. I show up 10 mins before my appointment (2hours after they supposedly opened) and I must say the place looked sketchy. Its in an amost abandonded strip mall, the windows and door are floor to ceiling fully blacked out tint. The door was locked with a sign saying it stays locked at all times and to ring the bell. Well I rang the stupid bell for 10 minutes, called 4 times and left a couple voicemails. This is extra annoying becasue as I told them I am headed out of town and my little pup needs a cut. This is NOT how you run a business. Not to mention how strange is it that they lock themselves in there. I took my dog to petco and was told he could not be groomed and that he was "freaking out". They said they could not even brush him and that I needed to pick him up ASAP. I was shocked and embarrassed! My dog has never had any issues getting groomed but I thought now I would never be able to get him groomed after what the Petco groomers said. I thought I would try out a groomer instead of a pet shop and see if it was possible to get my baby groomed. THANK GOD I came to Looking Sharp! They were able to get my dog in same day only a few hours later! They took amazing care of him, said they had no issues and let me tell you, he looks great! During the grooming I was very worried, after getting the call from petco I was just waiting for them to call me, so I texted Looking Sharp and they were kind enough to keep me updated and let me know that my dog was doing well and had been bathed, blow dried and was about to have his haircut! Having that little update was a breath of fresh air. It was so rewarding to know not only my dog was behaving but that the people taking care of him were kind enough to text me along the process. The negative reviews for this place are odd. It seems these people leaving the negative reviews have not done their research nor know what they are talking about. From start to finish this was an amazing experience, even the phone call to set up the appointment was warm and welcoming as we joked about how humans would love a spa day but dogs dread it! When I called and calmly confronted her on this and requested to remove it, Olivia and Mike were both super confrontational, and threatened to call their lawyer they have on retainer and also call the Scottsdale PD (well, that escalated quickly lol). Today I had a great experience at Looking Sharp, took my 11 year old pup in and Olivia did a great job. Everyone was super nice and made me feel comfortable. I recently cut pieces of my pups hair because it was either in her eyes or she got poop on her tail etc. Considering my poor job at trimming and my uneven cut, Olivia made it look perfect and even. She even gave me recommendations and names of products I could buy and use on my pup due to her allergies and sensitive skin.
