Meanwhile we been standing there shocked at how they were being.... One worker helping a white patron and 3 others just standing behind the counter laughing and gossiping, eying us every now and then to see our reaction. You know I thought this was just a one time thing when they ignored us at Tempe Cares Day. I was asking about help for my standard poodle who we ended up having to put down. I explained in detail everything she needed help with and why. Both ladies just stared at me then one handed me a piece of paper. Not one word spoken! It's so freakin rude and upsetting when your dog is dying and you just want to help her! I'm convinced it's a color issue. I don't know what else it could be.

You can tell how much they care about the dogs they have there!! They also wanted updates on him and how he was settling in and it was just all around an awesome experience and we absolutely LOVE our new dog!! He is such a sweetie pie and exactly how they described him. I got a like 8 page meticulous medical report on him and his health because he was part of a group of dogs they got from an overcrowded home and quite a few were sick when they got them. It was such a great experience and when we are ready to get another dog, we will absolutely be back! Couldn't recommend this rescue more!!!

We found out she couldn't see much at all. Thiscrescue had to know this information already. There was no mention at all about her health. I believe the foster knew too. The foster told us she felt this shih-tzu was much older!! Bottom line, I would not have adopted her if I knew she was much older than nine. $400 to get her at the end of her life. Sad. I love dogs and am giving her the best end of life years I can. But this experience with AZ small dog rescue was like a switch and bait, thought I was adopting a 9 or old with some decent years left. Instead, she is much older, blind and not healthy. These rescue places need to be more honest in their advertising.

Stop donating to AAWL. They are paying their staff, and turning away healthy animals (I have seen it) so they can avoid paying for them. Two thumbs down. Please, no more donations to AAWL. She's a part-time outdoor cat (mainly roaming the streets in the early morning) that chooses to pop in for a warm bed (usually my laptop) and some freeze dried space niblets (seafood flavored kibble). Ever since Gracie came into my life, a name I heard my neighbor's calling her, I've been trying to get her little things here and there to make her life better. As I type this, I see the cloud cat tower she's used once while getting a delivery alert for the outdoor house I bought her. So when I was at Whole Foods recently, I noticed this pet store right next door. With time to spare, I meandered in to see what offerings they had. Their dog selection is the majority of the store with two rows for felines and even less for other types pets you might have. They also have a dog washing station for those who might need to bathe Bruno. The price point is a bit higher but I believe you are supporting local. So while your buck might not get you too far here, at least it's going to a family-owned business.

A good selection of premium foods, raw, freeze dried, canned, and more. Prices are very competitive, in fact the Stella & Chewys Freeze Dried Raw is priced lower than the same product at a nearby big box pet product store. They don't carry as many products here as they had at previous location but it is a smaller shop. Keep in mind, the owner has been willing to work with me (you) in getting special orders from her supplier(s). So if there is something specific you're not finding here I highly recommend you speak with her to see if she can special order the item. If you're committed to providing better for your companion animal, consider improving what you feed, start by shopping here where there's premium food options.
