I was excited to find a self-serve dog wash in our neighborhood, fairly close by and at a…read morereasonable price. First couple of visits went fine. Everyone was super friendly, but I noticed that a couple things that were really lacking: adequate towels and a clock inside the washing room. I've mentioned both before during check out. When you're selling dog washes, apparently lots of people want them. This was probably my 5th wash and every time someone gets in line behind me. For someone like me with ADHD no way to measure time passing in a shared space and with soapy hands making me keep my phone in my pocket? No clock is a distinct disadvantage (feel free to interpret that as ABLEIST because you're introducing hurdles that only impact ND folx). Hearing there's someone in line behind you and you've got 15 minutes -- is stressful especially when there's no clock and the towels are barely thicker than a paper towel. It makes the task is exponentially harder to finish quickly. I had to walk to the front when I realized that while she time checked me, the lady working but didn't bother asking if I needed anything and that no more towels were coming. Bit strange having to beg for more towels when she literally commented "gosh, is that a fluffy dog!" as we signed in. Yeah my dog has a double coat which you have acknowledged seeing so I don't know why you're trying to cheap out on the towels? It was actually a safety hazard. There was water everywhere because I could not get enough of his water out of his coat in order to walk him safely from the washing room to the front counter even after the second batch of towels. I mentioned it was unsafe and I wish I'd have gotten more towels when I asked for them, and also that it was difficult to keep moving within their timeframe/to be respectful to the other guest when there's no clock available. The lady working could not have cared any less. She didn't acknowledge my concern just dismissed. "Oh if there wasn't someone waiting behind you, I wouldn't have hurried you." Well no kidding and I wouldn't need a clock if I wasn't trying to be courteous. I could have taken my own time and been in there long enough to get my dog adequately dry. Instead I had my dog dripping water and soaking into my car seats when I left the dog wash. If that's a dog wash is a service that you're prepared to offer, please do it so that people can have a successful experience. Today blew really hard but actually it's the same challenges I've faced before when using their service and today decided I'm not their ideal customer with my expectations. Pet Planet should think about some ways to ensure people want to come back or at least feel they gotten enough of what they paid for to move on with their day. If I knew I'd only get the wash half done I wouldn't have started. A wet husky/malamute is a recipe for a stinky dog and or skin problems from being wet too long. I'm hoping we don't end up with an unexpected vet visit after this.

She didn't last more than a few groomings before she was not working there anymore. The groomers have always done a very nice job and since that first groomer, they have all been very considerate. My daughter took our dog to the groomer the time before this when my husband and I were out of the country, and I was informed today she took him thirteen minutes late. This morning I brought him in for his next grooming and received a text when I was three minutes late letting me know my future appointments could be affected by being late to his appointment. I thought it a little strange that it came so soon after our scheduled arrival. I was driving and only a minute away from arriving, so I continued driving. Upon arrival at 8:05, five minutes late to the appointment, I quickly walked my dog to the gravel in front of the business to let him do his business. Hems an old dog and tends to pee when he gets nervous. I dropped him off and was back on my way home within a few minutes. When I arrived home, I mentioned the text to my husband who also thought it a bit hasty that they texted after only a few minutes of being late. I received a text that he was ready for pick-up and was out the door within about ten minutes for the ten minute drive to pick him up. After tipping them, the owner informed me that we were ten minutes late today and that my daughter was thirteen minutes late last June when she dropped him off. I simply refuted that we were that late today, while acknowledging that we were a few minutes late. He got irritated and informed me that we should not come back since I have no respect of his time. I restated that if I were in deed ten minutes late, I would understand, but I was not more than five minutes late. He suggested we could review the surveillance footage to prove it and I said I'd be happy to do that. He replied that he was not really willing to do that. He then said he'd see me around. Confused, I replied that it seems like he wouldn't since he had just informed me I should not return. He rudely said he was just being polite. I went on my way wondering why he would feel a need to be disingenuously polite. He was clearly agitated, and though I remained calm I was frustrated with the entire exchange. I paid generously for the services provided. Over $100 for a 15 lb dog is not a small amount! This place is not concerned with how they approach paying customers. Good thing there are a lot of other groomers in the area. I'm happy not to return again with the kind of experience I had here. I understand it's not good to be late. I remember getting after my daughter when I knew she was late to take him, but there should be at least a few minutes of allowance for people. Most of us have busy schedules like they do, and while, not ideal, are a few minutes late occasionally. If you are always on time feel free to disregard this review, but having some experience in sales and being customer service oriented, as I am, the owner's overreaction was an unjustifiable experience for me. I expect he'll respond in some nasty way to his own defense, but I want to put this out to potential customers, so they can avoid experiencing what I did there. Be on time to the second, or look elsewhere. That might not present a problem for some of you, but most people have occasional delays. In truth, the owner should thank me for posting, so only those who can be perfectly on time to each and every visit should enlist their services. Win-win!
