They offer tours on their website, but they don't allow anyone in the back, which actually makes me feel even more confident that my goodest of good bois is safe, secure, and in a well-controlled environment. As a first time cat mom, there's a lot I don't know that I don't know. The folks here at Preppy Pet have been more than helpful. Today, I got my lil gremlin neutered, nails trimmed, and chipped, as well as vaccinated. One of the tests I paid for was out of stock, so they refunded me that portion and when he goes in for his booster in 3 weeks, he'll get the rest of his vaccines. The staff here are so incredibly kind and helpful. They gave me very clear instructions for my kitten, and have been amazingly helpful with my questions on his care. Gremlin felt safe and he was well taken care of, and that's what matters to me. Their prices are hella good (I called around) and the level of service is outstanding. My wife and I would often travel and need to board our dogs. Nairobi and Kenya both have different needs, and this place always delivered. We boarded our Yorkie with them twice Both times he came home extremely upset and couldn't wait to leave. The first time I chalked up to him maybe being anxious that we left him but this time. He came Home covered in feces, he had extreme diarrhea for a week after and he was climbing to the top of my head to get out of there when we picked him up he was visibly distraught. We won't take him there ever again. They said he had a bath but he was nowhere near His fur was crunchy from the dried poop. It was a horrible experience for our dog. read more

Did good with my Lab/collie mix Charmy, gave him a great nail clip, bath amd condition. He was so soooooo soft and smelled great I couldn't stop hugging him when we got home! We got him from shelter a year ago at 4 yrs old and tried to maintain him and bathe him and we did our best but he still had matted parts of fur we would have to cut off and his nails seemed impossible. They did an amazing job at trimming him his fur was amazing and the scraggly fur was gone!! Definitely recommend and their prices are better for what they offer than other ones ive seen! read more

I bought a Groupon for boarding and decided to stop by and get all the paperwork before dropping my dog off the next morning. I am SUPER glad I did because I got a sketch vibe right away. The reception area was not cute or inviting: very bare minimum and felt like a prison. When I asked to see where my dog would be staying, I noticed the "play area" where only one dog was present, no humans, no water, no toys, and the poor dog was just barking and barking. When I asked why there weren't any toys, the receptionist quickly explained that there should have been toys and then threw some plushies in there...what? What caused me to cancel my multi-day boarding though was the fact that NO ONE is on premise with the animals between 7PM - 7AM! The receptionist assured me that dogs are taken out to potty 5 times between 7AM - 7PM, but when I sought confirmation about what sounded like zero opportunity for potty for the evening hours -- and let the lack of logic rest in the air between us -- she said that I was, in fact, correct: no attention to the pets for 12 hours because NO ONE IS THERE (my emphasis added. The woman was nice enough). How does that even make sense?! Magically, my 8 month old puppy is supposed to hold his business without any bio breaks for 12 hours?? I asked if there was any cancelation policy, she said no, so I promptly left, went to PetSmart, called again to confirm that there was no extra fee for cancelation (she said no), so got all set up with PetSmart, and then canceled my boarding at Preppy Pet. I was too fearful about lack of supervision and totally ignoring my pet's needs for 12 hours a day. PetSmart has someone on premise 24/7 and has people inside the play area, which looks enjoyable and inviting. Beware and know what you are signing up for if you choose this place. Yeah, PetSmart was much more expensive, but I know I made the right decision to cancel. read more

My dog was boarded here recently for 5 nights. When I came to pick him up my white dog had smeared feces on his behind and all 4 paws were stained with feces. The woman who handed him to me didn't say a word. I asked why he was in this condition she stated he had diarrhea last night and stepped in it. I asked why he wasn't cleaned up and she stated they did not have time. My dog is a senior and he does get stressed, I don't fault them for that however to leave a dog smeared with feces is neglect. We've had 2 others stays here years ago and it was a good experience. I will never bring my dog here again. He also had a large blister on his front leg. So angry with you !!!! For starters they could ensure that my dog doesn't smell terribly of urine. Or have urine inside of the bag that I took her food and toys in. What other liquid could been yellow and smell like urine??? None. I purchased the dog play as well and they said they would have potty breaks. So the only thing I can assume is my dog was either peed on by other dogs or allowed to pee herself in her damn crate. Unacceptable on so many levels. Front desk person literally pulled my dog like she was playing tug of war to the back when I dropped her off that should have been my red flag indication I should have listened to. DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOU LOVE THEM. My dog was boarded for 3 days and came home with non stop bloody stool and vomit. I picked him up and he had stool on his collar and they also informed me that they had to clean his paws because of a situation where they wouldn't go into detail. He was healthy before coming. I called Preppy Pet told me it was normal then I called 2 of my veterinarians and they told me it was NOT normal. I asked them what happened and the rude manager hung up in my face twice and wouldn't withhold any information and was not empathetic also told me that BOTH my vets were lying. I said yes then groomer came out introduced himself very kind. So got a call 3 hours later she was ready. I asked how she was playing told not playing because they did not want to get dirty. I said I wanted her to play was told ok she would put her to play and it was for free pick up by 7pm. I called at 4 to see how play was going said she was not playing i said i wanted her to so they said they would put her to play again. I went at 6 to pick up and asked about her play said she only played with the jack Russell that was also being pick up. Then groomer came out with dog and I asked them how it went he said dog did not play they thought I did not want her to play. I explained I told 3 different people to let her play and I was told she played with another dog. He said no and was sorry about confusion. I will never go back I dont know what when on. read more

Like several others who reviewed Preppy Pet Tempe, I had two Groupons for my two dogs and took them in. I have a miniature Goldendoodle and a 9 lb Havanese, with do VERY different looks and dog grooming styles. When I picked them up they were cut identically, and horribly. I don't like to give negative reviews to people, but this one has me angry enough to sit here and type. My golden doodle looked like she'd been punk'd, with a buzz of hair off down the middle of her head. One side of the buzz is longer than other side. I think a blind person could have done better. (no offense to people with visual impairments.) The little Havanese looks stupid. Clearly the groomer didn't know what cut was appropriate for either of these dogs. I tipped $20 before I noticed. Would like to have ALL my money back. I called them at the desk just apologized, saying if I want to bring them in they could fix it. A 25 minute drive to a place I'll never frequent again just didn't cut it. I'm living with it until they grow. I can say for both dogs, it's the WORST cut ever!
