Dog parents beware! Took my mellow lab/border collie mix here for daycare since 2018 and never had problems. New ownership 2 to 3 years ago and major staff turnover. He's now been bitten by another dog twice in past year. Staff didn't notice the incident either time it happened. First time, they did find the bite during a body check, and watched a video of the play area to see what happened and saw a German shepherd bite my dog "for no apparent reason." Said they'd keep the two dogs separated if they were there at the same time again. This time they never found the pretty sizable bite (or opted to not tell me about it). I discovered it the next day, and vet confirmed it was a dog bite so it had to happen there as he's an only dog. Asked Staff to watch video to see what happened and was told they no longer have cameras so no way to determine what dog bit him this time. We won't be returning. They seem to no longer be doing a good job of screening out dogs that don't have the right temperament for daycare and/or doing a good job of supervising the dogs. read more

It really pains me to write this review, but after 6 years of loyalty to Learning Paws we will never be bringing our dog back here. When we first started bringing our pup to Learning Paws we were taking him in for day care a few times a week and boarding whenever we traveled, which was often. He was always treated well and loved by the staff, we praised Learning Paws to all the pet parents in our life. During the pandemic both my husband and I started working from home which meant we no longer had to take him to boarding and mostly stopped traveling, so there was a long stretch of time that we didn't bring our dog to Learning Paws at all, and in that stretch of time the company went through a change of ownership. We recently went on a vacation where our pup stayed in boarding with Learning Paws for 4 days. When we picked him up he was absolutely caked in his own feces, you could see it just walking him on a leash and it got all over me and the car on the ride home. I was so upset when we got home that I didn't think to take pictures I just put him right in the bath and got to work picking dried feces out of his fur that felt like it had been there the entire time he was staying with this facility. A few days after his stay, our dog had to be taken to an emergency vet because he had contracted an eye infection from which he is still recovering. When I informed Learning Paws about what happened with our dog we got a call from the management and the only thing they offered to make this right was a free bath the next time he stays with them, and a response that looked like it was written by AI just saying that they do hourly checks on the pups and look over them when they get sent home, which I can guarantee they do not do. I am disgusted by the treatment my pup received in this facility, and insulted by the company's absolutely negligible attempt at rectifying the situation. read more

I can't say enough good things about Learning Paws. They take incredible care of my pup and treat her like she is family. They are incredibly reliable, flexible, and accommodating. My dog loves going there to see her friends (both dog and human!). I've shopped around at several camps and this is the best in my opinion. Their groups are smaller than other ones in the area. They have to dogs broken into tinies, mediums, and biggies, instead of just small and large. Also, their rooms and outside areas are spacious, so the dogs aren't on top of each other. Lastly, their half days are 6 hours instead of 5, like other camps. The dogs play and interact all day and are never kenneled. I've been bringing my dog here for a few weeks now and I've been so impressed and recommend this business to everyone I talk to! All of the staff are amazing and you can tell they love the dogs and their jobs. Mostly, I've been blown away by the affordability. You can have your dog there for up to twelve hours for only $40. And I work late nights so them being open 24 hours is a huge plus that I couldn't find anywhere else. In addition, they are very flexible with scheduling and pick up/drop off times which is essential for my job. There's also so many extra services you can get your dog for just a few bucks, puzzles, treats, individual play time and exercise, baths and nail trims, and more. I've been taking my dog Daisy (shiba inu) to this daycare for the past 3 years and my lab mix Cookie for the past year. I love this place! It's conveniently located close to my work place. I trust them 100% with my dogs, have never had any incident and they all know the dogs by name and also know their personalities well. They are very responsible and take good care of the dogs. Sean is fantastic and loves the dogs as if they were his children. My shiba inu hates people but she absolutely loves Shawn and that's a lot to say! We had our dog attend learning paws since Jan 2021 and completed puppy training through them. Ever since it went corporate it has not been the same! I miss the old crew and just like corporate world they have consistent staff turn overs. Ever since Alana unfortunately passed, (bless her heart for the dog community) it has gone downhill! By the way they no longer do refunds when requested and I would find a different local community. It says a lot when the staff that you considered family are pushed out or no longer there. I rescued a 12 week old pitbull pup on his way to the pound. I live alone and work a very busy schedule. He is one of my biggest responsibilities and if I didn't have some place to take him where I knew he was loved, safe, cared for and happy, I don't know how we would make it. It takes a village... We are so lucky to have found learning paws and have them be a part of our village . He frequently drags me to the door and I can often be seen lifting him out of the lobby. For this year's #ThankYouThursday2021 I want to dedicate it to Learning Paws! My dog Cooper has isolation anxiety and while I'm still building his anxiety tolerance, he often goes here for daycare. He LOVES going to daycare, and always has so much fun! The staffs are all so friendly, and took care of my pup well. They split the dogs into three separate groups so that they can play well with someone their sizes: littles, mediums, and biggies. I love Learning Paws. We have a high anxiety pit mix and they are so good with him. Other places won't allow pits to socialize with other dogs because of the negative stigma around their breed. We just had the most amazing session with Lena. Our dog Mila was rehomed to us in October. She's epileptic and has seizures. She had the basics down but was hard to walk - lots of tugging, pulling, crossing in front of me. So we reached out Lena to see what we could do for Mila and us. Our session with Lena was eye opening. She taught us techniques to help us walk with Mila. Ways to reward her and make our walkies safe for everyone. We learned new commands and better words to use. And we are working on leave it too! I am so glad we called them. Mila will be such a happier dog. And we will be happier owners too. read more

Where do I even begin. First of all - we hand selected these folks and entrusted them with the care of our only family member. A few weeks she sustained a bite while at Learning Paws ....that's not our issue. Although it was upsetting we are mainly upset by the TOTAL lack of communication, zero reporting on the issue and then, outside of one phone call to "check in" ...radio silence since. That is until we posted a bad review - that's creating some passive communication. We both missed work all week, have been nursing an Injured dog back to health and still haven't been refunded for our $24 visit. They did however throw money at the problem by paying for the emergency visit to the vet. They haven't let us see the tapes and offered ZERO apology and rather made excuses as to the fact that "maybe it was a herding breed" and "accidents happen". Weeks later they confirmed she was "in a fight" which is totally normal - EXCEPT THEY NEVER REPORTED THIS TO US. they will tell you that they do body checks on the dogs - But clearly that is not done in a consistent manner - since an incident was never reported to us. I could easily see the hole in her body from across the room when we got home. (See pic); I get that accidents happen but you're supposedly trained professionals that are capable of hiring qualified employees to care for animals. Oh and we pay you to watch the dogs and prevent fights such as this I understand the plight of a small business trying to identify and train qualified staff to run an operation such as this. However, being understaffed is a terrible excuse for ineffective service. You have the option to limit the number of dogs or pay slightly more on an hourly basis to ensure that the care is continued across all staff members. I live alone in a condo and work so much that I wanted to take my Max to get some play time. I took him on a Saturday morning so they could do an assessment. When I picked him up 4 hours later they said he was welcome back any time. I've since taken him 4 or 5 times and each time I say Doggy Day Care, Max started dancing around. He whines in the car until we get there and all 7 pounds of him drags me into the facility. All the staff love him and he obviously loves them back! What I love is that he is completely exhausted and crashes when we get home! The next day he also naps a lot. I wish I could afford to take him more but it is something that is special for him. I'll be going out of town next month and I plan on leaving him here. I trust the staff because they do seem to love him so much when I bring him in! I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE TAKING YOUR DOG TO LEARNING PAWSIBILITIES!!!! If I had shared this review a year ago, I would have told you that Learning Pawsibilities was wonderful. After carefully reading through their reviews and learning more about the owners, staff and services my husband and I felt more than comfortable sending our puppy there. We trusted them, their knowledge, professionalism. We even paid to have our puppy privately trained with one of their trainers at our home. Which was extremely successful. Our puppy was making great progress and we had built up so much trust with her and the staff at Learning Paws. As the year continued, we experience a few hiccups with the staff. It seemed that they were VERY short staffed. We also noticed that some of the staff members were lacking 'attention to detail'. Which will/can happen when businesses have a quick turn over. We decided to pull back and only send our pup a few 1/2 days a week here and there. THEN... Just about a month ago, I dropped our pup off at around 7am and picked her up at 2pm. I asked how she did that day and I received a very vague response. As I stood in the lobby waiting for them to bring her to me I was watching the surveillance cameras and noticed that my pup was hiding under a slide. Then she got up with her tail tucked behind her back legs. She looked terribly scared and I knew something was not normal. We got in the car, drove home and she immediately went and hid under our bed. I knew something was up, so I kept an eye on her and shortly found her nursing a bloody inch and half wound. She had been bit in what would basically be her back leg armpit area. Immediately took her to the vet, called Learning Paws, and was at the vet from 2:30pm - 8:30pm. Learning Paws said they do "body checks" at 12pm and did not see anything. We asked them to please check the video recordings to see what could have happened. They had the nerve to ask us if maybe something happened before we dropped her off at daycare. Seriously!? Our pup was finished with surgery and starting to come off the anesthesia. The vet communicated with us that Learning Paws was 'taking care of the bill' - How nice of them, ha! Call us 'crazy dog owners', but we were furious!!! No call from Mirna to explain the situation in more detail, no apology, seemingly no concern about the dog at all. Nothing!!! We had to pay out of pocket for the antibiotics, we both work full time and needed to switch our schedules around completely to care for the dog. Not to mention, this was a major set back with all the work we have done socializing our dog. I apologize for the LONG winded review, but I feel it is my responsibility to share our experience with others. Of course, things happen and especially with pets, but the way this situation was handled is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful, in my opinion. Hopefully, our review helps others make safe doggie daycare decisions and keeps all of our furry babies safe! Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this. ***********RESPONSE TO OWNERS COMMENT: The incident was handled poorly and unprofessionally... Throwing money at a vet bill does not cut it and I would hope you understand that. We should have been informed immediately that our dog was in a supposed dog fight, but we were not!!!! We were not informed of anything and the poor dogs you are caring for do not have a voice. Your staff had no knowledge of the incident even happening. It was not until we called to tell you she had bit that at daycare. It breaks my heart to think about how long she had been injured, scared and uncomfortable in your staffs hands. Where was your staff when the supposed fight happened? Why weren't we informed of the incident? Why wasn't she taking to the vet immediately? Or when the BODY CHECKS were done, why didn't they see the injury? All VERY good questions to ask, but for some reason we were left in the dark with no answers to those questions. This review is mainly a VOICE for the animals that cannot speak for themselves. Also we 100% bought/paid for a private training package, had one session and never heard back about the Urban Dog training dates so we asked to kindly refund our remaining money. Have a look at your records. To think we would take you up on an offer to "take care" of our dog in one of your separated rooms after the incident is a nice offer, BUT a bit mind blowing. Sorry to say, after experiencing how this was all handled we choose not to support your business. My apologies for being beyond frustrated and bringing the bill in to your "store" - I thought you might want to see it and have a copy for your records. Clearly, you were too busy. As a husky, she's bred to have energy, but they manage to have her tuckered out every night! They have helped us immeasurably from the time we rescued her to working with us and our existing "dog-selective" shiba inu, to training, to boarding, to being attentive to her sensitive stomach, to helping her recuperate from foot surgery, and finally to taking care of her somewhat emergently during the birth of our son... Not going to lie, I did not trust this place one bit because come on - the place used to be a sex toy/clothing shop. In my mind, I just couldn't see how the place could be built for dog boarding but, Mirna (owner) proved me wrong. Central Phoenix was seriously lacking a dog boarding center despite how dog-friendly the Biltmore/Arcadia businesses are and how apartment ridden this area is. I was going on vacation but moved from the 24/7 Gilbert Dogs area and needed to find somewhere closer than having to basically trek to Mexico just so my dog could be boarded. This place was literally steps nearby and once again, I was wary due to the former business it used to be and how new it was with not many reviews. I first went to take a look at the the place and Mirna more than willingly gave me a tour. No dildos or bras surprisingly, but an actual agility/play area with more than 4 sections to move dogs around. 40 bucks a night is more expensive than most other places but if you look at their Facebook page, you'll see why. My beast of a dog isn't exactly dog friendly after being attacked and finds other dogs annoying. I don't know where she got that from, definitely not me *eyes shifting*. It was my first time boarding and I nicely warned the staff that if they didn't update at least twice a day with pictures or videos of my beast breathing, I would assume that my dog was dead like Green Acres and start a one woman Ferguson Riot of my own. Mirna and the staff made sure she always had one on one enrichment and training and made sure to constantly upload the Facebook so I could breathe a little easier while I was away. What was probably the best part? My dog didn't come back home smelling like she came from the mighty St. River of Dog Pee. I used to hate that I had to give my beast a bath after Gilbert Dogs because she smelled worse than a skunk but she smelled so great I almost cried tears of joy as I smuggled my face into her fat rolls. I can't say enough about this business.Like any pet owner I was hesitant to dive in to the doggy day care thing. Mirna eased my worries and walked me through everything. I bought 10 days of Half-Day doggy day care along with Pet Taxi. Mirna worked with me to make sure my dog spent 6 hours with the other dogs, and the was given a ride back to my apartment. This was amazing because two nights a week I went to night classes and didnt get home until 8, so this cut back on the amount of time he had to spend alone. Beau was so happy with the program. The trainers evaluated my dog's behavior and put him in a playgroup that would be safe for him. (a big dog, who is very timid and gets picked on by other large males.) I was glued to Facebook at work, not for my own social networking but to see if there were any pictures or videos of my dog! They do a very good job of posting things every day. By the second day, my shy dog was wagging his tail and not hesitant when I was ready to leave him off. My dog have been well mannered since then, more attentive and now "lays down" when I tell him to. I never taught him that, so It must be one of the good habits he picked up at Learning Pawsibilities. We started here with puppy training classes for our 9 week old Sheepadoodle pup, he was a little shy and we wanted to get him off on the right paw. This is great group of people here, they train with positive methods and after three weeks of using their services we couldn't be happier. This place is amazing. I have been bringing my pomapoo Hunter for 2 months now. I have difficult work schedule and need daily doggie day care during non traditional hours. This is a cage free boarding and day care. They have a 7 to 1 handler ratio. It's not all play they teach manners, agility and basic obedience while at day care. Added bonus they post pictures of your fur baby on Facebook daily. The owners Mirna, Eric, Lena and Greg are wonderful, caring people who know their dogs. Definitely recommend them for anyone! We have been taking our mini goldendoodle to Learning Paws since we got him as a puppy (almost 2 years). They taught him how to socialize with a variety of dogs, which has allowed him to interact with dogs of all sizes. Our dog also gets groomed there many times. Their prices are competitive and we consistently get great work from the groomer. The best part is that I drop our dog off for camp and he runs around and is tired by the time he's ready to be groomed. The people that work there are consistent, so they know your dog and dogs temperament. They are all VERY nice to both humans and dogs. I take my sweet "little" Olive here quite frequently. When we first started going here we had Olive in a puppy class, and she spent the first few classes standing in the corner because she was just so scared. By the end she had really opened up. By the advice of the trainer, we started bringing her to daycare to socialize her even further. Now she absolutely loves this place and gets so excited when we pull up. She is always so tired when we pick her up and she sleeps like a rock when we pick her up. I LOVE that they open at 6:30a, so I am able to drop her off before I work, they also stay open pretty late (7p). The only reason that I have marked them down a star is because the last few times I have taken Olive, she develops a skin infection that has to be treated by antibiotics. I have made several staff aware but she continues to contract some type of bacterial skin infection here. read more

Went for the first time, made an appointment for two dogs for 10:30-10:45. Was told no other appointment was made before that time except for one at 9. I was told they would call me 15-30 prior to finishing so I could pick them up. Get there confirmed again that it would only take 2 hours for both of them. I decided to make time around the area so I could pick up my dogs. 2 hours later and no call. Waited 30 minutes more (because I understand sometimes things take a bit more time) and I called them to find out they hadn't even started on either of their grooming and that they have OTHER dogs ahead of them. So that they would be ready till 3:30. I had an appointment, I was assured twice how long they would take and that there weren't any other appointments before them. My babies had already been there for almost 3 hours, and I was not gonna let them be there for 3+ hours more. So I went to pick them up.
