Murphy-Lou is a fabulously happy goofball Coonhound -- loves people, loves dogs, interested in everything, and absolutely willing to obey commands unless she's interested in something else at that moment like, say, a moth or shadow or yummy smelling thing -- so we have lots in common. She's a sweet girl who's transitioned wonderfully from a quiet rescue (at 9 months) to a fun, playful, obedient (well, mostly), and happy best friend. We set up four training sessions with Mike M. and had such a good and productive time that we did four more, and Murphy-Lou is doing great! She's mastered all the basics (i.e., sit, come, down, heel, off, place, etc.) and she no longer just ignores me when interested in something else, but turns to me glaring, "I am a Coonhound, you oaf, just one moment, there is a leaf here and I must give it appropriate consideration", and when finished she'll walk over and sit next to my foot. Mike is abundantly knowledgeable, experienced, patient, and super friendly... and he's also very considerate in trying not to sound critical of my own efforts training Murphy -- a couple of times I've told him, "don't worry about hurting my feelings, if I need to do something differently just let me know -- I'm the one who needs training!" He's just a really good guy and fun to work with and I recommend him to anyone who's genuinely interested in learning to train the pups! (We're gonna do more work with him!) read more

Absolutely recommend. My Sadie was well loved and cared for during her board and train. She has gained so much confidence and is just so much better disciplined than she was before. Mike was great and did such a great job with the daily updates (videos and I photos) and story about their day and trainings. Definitely will go through them again when we get another dog. read more

We adopted our 18 month old husky and he was INSANE, as huskies are. He was so smart, but hated listening. He's also incredibly strong and loves to pull on his leash when we walk. After just four weeks with our trainer, our husky is a completely different dog! I can walk him by myself without him pulling me down the street, we can take him out to Lowe's or anywhere else with very little problems. I was so worried about him losing his personality because of training, but he's still as goofy as ever! I cannot recommend OLK9 training enough! Harvey, our 4 year old Yorkie, is a very loving little guy with a huge personality. After 2 failed attempts at training with other vendors, we did our research and chose OLK9PHOENIX for the 2 week board and train. Harvey was matched with Mike Myers as his trainer. Our biggest concern was Harvey's reactivity to people, animals and bicycles. The program taught Harvey to enjoy his walks, greet other animals and people without aggressive behavior. Harvey also developed a bond with Gizmo, a French bulldog who was also being trained. It was great to see both of them interact. This was a step up for Harvey. From the initial hand over to the last day of training, all questions were answered. Nightly emails included photos, comments and a video of that days activities, trainings. All I can say is wow. Our expectations were absolutely exceeded and we are happy to join the off leash family. Bogey our 1 year old Bull Terrier/Pit mix went to the 2 week board and train program with Michael. Bogey did not have the best go at things prior to us rescuing him and quickly grew to be very territorial and we couldn't communicate with him who was a friend and who was not. The program has taught Bogey to find his inner zen through structured obedience and exposure. Don't even question if this is the right place to get your dog trained because I can tell you, yes, this is it. They go above and beyond from initial conversations about what program would be best for our boy to nightly video and picture updates, to making sure you are confident in utilizing the commands and tools when you go home. In Fall of 2017, Off Leash K9 Training helped my family with training our great dane puppy to stop treating our son like a litter mate and biting on him tearing holes in most of his clothes. We also learned to walk our furbaby at heal, without pulling, to sit/stay and from a long distance as well as to go to place which has come in handy. The package online states "This is where you drop off your dog, and 2-weeks later you pick up a dog that is flawless outside, off-leash, with distractions!" I have multiple emails from Denise stating that this would not be completed. When I got my dog back she was by no means "flawless ". Not even close. I was let down spending so much money and am working with PayPal to get some of it back. Denise was nice but I did not get what was offered in the ad and I definitely overpaid. I just wish OffLeash would have tried to make it right for spending all that money. $2400 is a lot of money to me. Definitely not recommended. read more

Denise at Offleash K9 training is amazing! We sent her an 80lb, 9 month old Akita that had some bad puppy habits for the 2 week board and train program and she gave us back a better dog with all the training we need to have a great dog for life. He still needs to be worked with on a daily basis so he doesn't forget the commands but overall demeanor is a much more well behaved dog. Denise is great with her communication. We received daily videos of his progress and probably 1800 pics of him while he was boarded. Even after we got him back she has responded to any question we have immediately. I was referred by another disabled vet to begin my service dog training here for my boy. We did lessons and then board and train. We will be getting tested for AKC Good Citizen in February. Denise specializes in precision training and sincerely loves our dogs. Her support and kindness are outstanding. Copper my 1 year old beagle just got home from his 2 week bird and train. He went in needing training on basic obedience, counter surfing and barking. Today I picked him up and he came to me on command, sat in places I told him and would lay down on command! Going in he struggled with these basic commands. He even walked next to me off leash through Home Depot with distractions and did amazing! I could not have done this without Denise! She is a wonderful lady, great trainer and took amazing care of Copper. She always kept me updated on Copper and I loved the photos of him and videos of his training sessions. We have a huge Great Dane who, because she is so big, was scaring the baby. The baby would get knocked over (on accident) or whipped in the face by the tail. We were thinking of getting rid of our Dane but decided to try this instead. Now, our dog will place (stay) until we release her, can go to the park without her leash on, and will stay away from the baby when we say "off." The 25lb baby now thinks she is in charge of the 130lb dog.... and the dog agrees. It is expensive but well worth the money for us. read more

Took my Rubi a border collie/heeler for the basic obedience class. It was great and we learned a lot. She was a crazy rambunctious puppy that would not listen. We sent Jessie our 10mo very energetic and distracted lab to Off Leash K9 Phoenix for their 14 day board and train program. When she left us she had little obedience and some bad puppy behavior. After 14 days of training and daily updates I can highly recommend them. Their results are wonderful and we have a still very energetic lab that is obedient and much less distracted. Let me just start off by saying that I am now the proud owner of an 8 week old Labrador! When we brought our new puppy home, I knew I had my hands full and was feeling pretty overwhelmed as far as how I was going to train my new pup so I decided to research some local trainers in our area. My husband and I first met with a trainer from K9 Katelynn and honestly within the first five minutes we were already put off with how awkward and dry this guy was...he very briefly interacted with Duke (our puppy) before asking that he be removed or put in his kennel... And over the course of the hour consultation I can't even tell you what was going on because we couldn't understand a word he was saying since he mumbled and spoke at the speed of light the whole time. He brought with him a checklist, a contract and asked how we wanted to pay him without giving us a chance to discuss if we even wanted to move forward. Overall, it was just a negative experience. The trainer was not personable or enthusiastic and basically had no interest in interacting with our dog, bad first impression. Not to mention the ridiculous price for "basic obedience training". THEN, I contacted OLK9 and was immediately impressed by Jesse! The first reason is that initially after leaving a voicemail he promptly returned my call and took 25 minutes out of his day to give me advice and tips over the phone which says a lot! He was very enthusiastic and friendly!! After feeling really confident that this was the trainer for us, I spoke to my husband and a week later contacted Jesse again and scheduled a Free in-home consultation. IMMEDIATELY after coming inside he asked if he could take Duke out of his kennel and started to get to know him. The entire time during our consult he was interacting with Duke and showing us demonstrations (treat training, thresholds, leash training, biting behavior, etc) which I liked! He is extremely personable, easy going, clear, and answered all of our questions and clearly Duke loved him! He was great with the puppy and it came very natural to him. He wasn't pushy at all, kept it real and honest about expectations and basically has a "do what works for you" kind of attitude rather than "this is my way and the only way". He really eased my concerns regarding normal puppy behavior and to not worry so much! He also gave positive feedback and validation for what I've been doing so far! We will be starting actual training in a few weeks but I definitely recommend contacting him if you are looking for a great trainer! And I will post an updated review after lessons but I'm really excited and confident in the results to come. :) read more

She took in our uncoordinated, goofy, rambunctious, 50 pound (and may I add sweet) 5 month old Doberman puppy on the 2 week board and train, and returned a well mannered and obedient young pup! We scheduled our appt with Denise before Russo even came home. We knew he was going to be a big guy, and with small kids and a small fur sister at home, along with the sometimes unjust reputation of the breed, we knew it was crucial he be well trained. From the time we brought our boy home until he was old enough to enter the board and train program several people tried to talk us out of sending him.
