Should have been 5 stars all along.... I just realized that my old review was 4 stars but I love this place so 5 makes more sense. They take great care of my Shih Tzu who's not always cooperative. It's a groomer school so sometimes her cut isn't perfect but she always gets clean and they're always so nice to us. The price is less than other groomers too.... Advise to double check your appt time, they do not have a call system, and if late they are so busy, they can't work you in. The grooms are fine, just the business model that is an issue. And whoever took the call decided to book me on a day they were closed so I essentially waiting 4 weeks for nothing. I brought my dog here for several years and I never rated this groomer. It was the best groomer place I ever brought my dog. He was always afraid of getting groomed but always looked great after and while I know he didn't like it he was always happy when it was over and I didn't have a problem taking him here. I took my Shiba Inu in for a grooming. I explained when I made the appointment that she needed her undercoat brushed out, and nails clipped. I came in, and they hardly took any of my information or asked me any questions about my dogs breed. They just took her back, she was scared and I let them know that. That should have been my indicator to just take her and leave. I come back after the amount of time they told me it would take. To only hear my dog bit a girl who was trying to dry her. My dog is 9 and is very gentle unless she feels very threatened. My eyes got huge because I never asked them to bathe my Shiba. Their breed does not need bathed hardly ever! I would have assumed the educators would have known about her breed. Stupid of me to assume. They tell me it'll be 2 more hours cause shes sitting under a fan drying. I asked why they bathed my self cleaning dog in the first place, and got no answers. I paid before my dog came out or I wouldn't have at all after I saw her. After them telling me it would be 2 more hours to dry her, I asked if all that needed done to my dog was just to dry her. They said yes, so I just asked them to bring her out wet. I had to go. I rushed out of there but when I got in my car I got a good look at my dog, and she was a mess! They didn't even brush her! She smells from washing her waterproof coat, and it looks like they just gave up on her nails. I will spend hours brushing all this out of my dog now. So, thanks. Know your breeds please. read more

My husband and I felt comfortable as we were greeted when we walked in and talked about our needs. Never coming here again. Totally unprofessional environment. The ladies that work the front have absolutely no customer service skills. There was 5 just sitting around eating at the front desk while trying to check the dogs in and out. When I first came in there was an upset woman because she was told a different price for her dog on the phone and was being charged more once she was there. I paid $60 for a chihuahua and a yorky, but when I came to pick them both up one of the women said how she "didn't get to finish Hazard (the chihuahua) because he was freaking out during his cut". However, I was not offered any of my money back and when I got home and got a closer look my chihuahua was cut in several places (I'll upload photos) and none of them said anything to me about it. I don't recommend taking your pets here for any type of service. There are way better places with better prices that have even better service than this place. read more

I have used the services of It's A Dog's World School of Grooming for our four dogs since 2004. We had our rescue dog Kai groomed there a year ago. One day we brought her home and noticed her paw was cut. The paw continued to bleed and we finally stopped the bleeding by putting pressure on her paw. We were never notified by the grooming facility but called and spoke with Manager Dawn Pennington. Dawn acted surprised of the injury. I asked that the next time one of my dog's is injured that I be notified immediately. On December 10th, my mini schnauzer Katie was groomed. At he time Katie was 13 years old. After picking her up from grooming, I noticed she had a puncture wound next to corner of her eye. I rinsed her eye and didn't notice any changes until a few weeks later when her eye glazed over white with an opaque film over her eye. We had a separate dog groomed on 12/13 and I let him he owner's daughter know that Katie's eye had been injured. I also called and left a voicemail on 12/23 after the vet appointment with no returned call. I spoke to Manager Dawn Pennington on 1/3 after leaving several messages. Dawn denied the injury and said to submit vet bills. She said she would file a claim with her insurance but I never heard back from an insurance adjuster, after serving a legal letter and writing reviews on Facebook, i received a call from the adjuster, we will need to have my dog's eye removed.I took her to the vet on 12/23 and the vet prescribed antibiotics and eye drops for almost two months. We continue to see the vet but its looking more and more like eye removal is imminent. I write this review because I don't want anyone else to have this experience. Mistakes can and do happen. However, the owner should be immediately notified and the school should offer to resolve the situation and not try to deny it ever happened. read more

I heard about this grooming school from a woman that couldn't stop singing their praises. When I called I was told I could bring my dog in at anytime without an appointment for her nails to be trimmed. It was a great experience so I brought her back for a grooming session. They asked just the right questions to find out exactly what I wanted done. A few hours later I picked up my beautiful furgirl and her cut was exactly how I wanted it. I took my five-pound doe-eyed chihuahua in to have his nails trimmed. I sat in the waiting area when it started. My dog yelped. I cringed, things happen, maybe they got a little too close to the quick, but then the groomer usually figures it and I don't hear a yelp again when he comes back his nails are trimmed. That's usually, this time the groomer was the exception, I hear my little squeal in pain again and I shouted out to be careful. My dog squealed again now I was getting mad as hell because this groomer obviously did not care if she was giving my dog a traumatic experience to remember. This is the first time that had his nails trimmed to where he squealed like that, he was in pain. What would you do if somebody hurting something you loved and showed no signs of fixing the problem. I yelled at her to bring my dog back, she did and she came yelling back at me like I was hurting my dog. This groomer shows a lack of empathy for what that little dog was experiencing how I perceived this. When a customer has a problem with the actions of one of the (professional) groomers, yelling back at that customer only escalates the matter. When you have a customer who becomes upset because their little buddy is squealing in pain you don't handle it by being aggressive in return. I enjoyed bringing my dog to this place but after hurting my dog and yelling at me it is NOT a place I soon wish to return to. The groomer I dealt with should not work wit5h customers without some kind of customer service training or anger management courses. read more

OK, OK, OK...you not going to get the BEST haircut for your dog here, seeing as though its a dog grooming school, but nothing beats a $25 grooming for my Maltese dog. His hair cut is a little uneven here and a little longer where it shouldn't be, but I like the special attention they give to him, and I always feel good about leaving my special guy with them! They do free nail trimmings too, without even having grooming done. The people who run this place are so sweet and nice! read more
