We love Hairy Dog! I take my dog there regularly and he gets so excited as soon as we pull up. What I appreciate most is that the dogs aren't locked up in crates all day. They get to hang out together and actually play and socialize. The staff is caring and attentive, and I always feel comfortable leaving him there. It gives me peace of mind knowing he's having fun instead of just sitting in a kennel. Took my dog to Hairy Dog Groomers expecting a smooth nail grind. What I got instead? Clippers. Yep--despite clear instructions, they went full Edward Scissorhands on my pup's paws. When I asked why they didn't grind as requested, the excuses started flowing faster than a dog chasing a squirrel: "You can bring your dog back." Please! How about checking your work before I leave with the dog. Communication? More like a game of charades. They text me that my dogs ready to be picked up then on the way down I get a 2nd text saying 15 more minutes. My dog deserved better, and frankly, so did I. I have a difficult/stubborn miniature schnauzer and have a hard time finding places willing to work with her regardless of administering medication. This is probably the 5th or 6th visit I've had at The Hairy Dog. They are awesome! Not only is it a great place to shop for pet stuff and goodies, they do an amazing job at grooming. I have a golden retriever and there are normal baths and proper groomings. The Hairy Dog does either. But today my lil guy got the full spa treatment! This grooming salon is very professional and transparent. All pricing is listed on their site, by breed, and there are no additional surprises. They are concerned about doing things right, which I really appreciate. I took my senior toy poodle here for the first time recently, and when I picked him up, they had not cut his head/ears quite as short as we like, and they took him back to take a little more off the top without any hesitation. My dog seemed happy when I picked him up, and his haircut was excellent. I have no reservations about taking him back in the future. My 13 year old yorkie was truly hooked up! I picked this place because it's near my house and I saw others post their small dog haircuts that came out fabulous. Mine was no exception! The front desk is extremely helpful and they communicated to the groomer my wishes and it exceeded my expectations. I had to wait like 2 weeks to get an appointment and it was really worth the wait. I've lived in 3 states with her and tried lots of different groomers in her 13 years and this is definitely a top tier salon with reasonable pricing. I now have so much confidence in the Hairy Dog that not only are they my new go-to for Princess my old girl, but now I will be bringing in my puppy (who is half Pomeranian and I think whose coat is much more difficult to groom) to see what kind of magic they can work on her! I have been bringing my two pups, Bentley (Australian Shepard mini) and Sky (border collie), to the Hairy dog for the past 2 years for grooming and and never once have I been dissatisfied with the service! Both of my pups love going to The Hairy Dog for their grooming service, the staff treat my pups as if they were one of their own. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating, I have nothing but great experiences even when there have been scheduling snafus or any other issue they are always so friendly and never have made me feel as though they didn't want to do everything in their power to help or accommodate me and my pups. My Boys favorite groomer! As soon as we pull in the parking lot they can't wait to get inside! They always take the best care of my pups, and they love being there. Our younger rescue is very attached to his brother, and they cared enough to keep them together thru the process to make sure they were both comfortable. They return smelling amazing (blueberry facial for the win) and tired from all the excitement for the day. I have been going to the Hairy Dog for years when the original owner was still there. I have a 17 lb poodle. Every time I have been in there the last year, it continues to go up with each visit. Started out at $65 and I just left there for the price of $83 for a miniature poodle. This is out of control. Gouging for dog grooming. The fee to use credit card is $3.25! This is very disappointing. This was a wonderful business in the day but no more. Services too high, attitude horrible and uninterested in pleasing. I don't recommend this business anymore! They are only in it for the money! I give it a 1 out of 10. Spend your money else where, where the staff cares. read more

Love this place! For the price you really get the red carpet treatment. Took my new rescue dog Blue here for (what I think) was his very first bath. He was matted, nails so long they looked like bird claws, and I advised the staff that he left been treated for ticks but I was still finding some on him but couldn't even get to deep dive for them due to his grooming condition. When I tell you I literally saw a new happy dog walk out of there I could cry. They were AMAZING with him! They deshedded him, no more matting, cleaned his crusty nose, and groomed his *areas* that were probably the worst matting I've seen. Best part is they held him for about an hour for me while I finished running some errands. They also have a daycare! I won't go anywhere else. It's a shame to have to give such a low rating when I started off liking this business. The low rating is not for the grooming but the front desk staff and poor management. They never answer their phone and that is very unsettling when your pet is there and it is getting close to closing time and you call for literally 15 minutes straight with no answer or when you go to drop your pet off on time for a grooming and have to wait on the front desk person for over 10 minutes and are ignored by other employees walking by while he's just in the back having a personal conversation with other employees, it's just rude and disrespectful of your clients time. There was also a time that they simply mixed up the schedule when I took in 2 of my dogs together and they simply forgot to cut one of them after they had been there for 4 hours and then did a rush job on her. I will gladly be taking my pets elsewhere. read more

BEWARE OF HAIRY DOG! After growing my dog's hair for almost a year to get it to the proper length and breed's natural style, I brought my West Highland back in to Hairy Dog and asked for the breeds cut. They asked, "Cut like last time?" I said no, I want a Westie cut, can you do that? Sure we can! In short, instead of a style, they just cut all his hair off. I want to breed this dog, and part of finding a female is that the male looks like he should, like the breed standard. I wouldn't be so upset if I hadn't been very explicit and they confirmed that they would give him a Westie cut. Now either they're overbooking and just cutting the standard shortcut for all dogs or it's owned, managed, and staffed by people that don't know what they're doing and to bred standards when asked. So far they've not even been apologetic. If I'd seen my dog before I paid the bill they would have never got their fee. Because I wanted to find a mate for my dog and now can't, I feel damaged. I'm going to post pictures before and after and see if you think this is a Westie cut. In response to the owner: I did voice my unhappiness with the cut when I picked up my dog. First I was told I wanted it cut like it had been done in the past. I said no, I was explicit that I wanted a Westie cut. I then asked the man at the desk when he brought him out if it looked like a Westie cut and he said "yes" As for his condition, the matting at the top inner thigh, yes that was removed when brushed and is very common in the bred, but you should know that. It's one of the reasons I needed him groomed. He was brushed at minimum every other day and bathed every third week, more than is recommended for the sensitive skinned breed. Not washed in the pics days before I brought him in because again they have sensitive skin. Your reply is infuriating and would have been much better received if it was "we blew it" because you did. As for my response on multiple platforms, if I had not heard from the young man "that is a Westie cut" when I picked him up, my concern so easily dismissed, and I seen what I think were two other Westies there sheep sheared like he has been, I wouldn't have said a thing. If you were so concerned, you should have picked up the telephone before I even got home. So whatever you heard before, you now have the truth. read more

The best groomer I have ever taken any of my pups to! Services are booked based on breed, which is absolutely genius. Essentially, the pup gets exactly what is needed based on size and coat. When your pup is finished and waiting to be picked up, they get to play in an indoor fenced area with similar sized dogs so they are not at all nervous or anxious while they wait. We recently adopted two full-sized greyhounds and the bath service is like the perfect spa day for our pups. For $45 each, the pups get their teeth brushed, a bath, nail trim, and 15 minutes of deshedding. The staff is always super friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about the animals that are brought in. Our pups are always well cared for at The Hairy Dog and I feel 100% confident bringing them in. read more

I continue to be impressed with The Hairy Dog and their grooming! I've brought Ernie here for almost 3 years and brought my new puppy Elliot in for his FIRST haircut ever today! They listened to exactly what I wanted and said they would go slowly to make sure he didn't get overwhelmed or scared. I picked him up and he didn't want to leave he was having so much fun! My only suggestion is wondering if they could put up puppy cams so we can watch our pups that are there. It usually takes 3-4 hours to fully groom because they take breaks and stuff. They can't keep it straight when they have an appointment or what someone tells you even with a confirmation. Take your chances could be good if they had qualified people running/make appointments. I am going to keep writing negative reviews. Please look up what the definition of harassment is? It would be better business paractice to say you had no room. I have dogs who have allergies and communicated how important it was to get them on a schedule, so because of this issue; is it not an issue I will spend more veterinarian bills because they were not groomed when I have had a confirmation with you.
