Brought in a 21 year old cat I recently adopted from shelter. He's very long haired and unfortunately no longer self-grooms as often as his long hair requires. Lots and lots of mats. The cat groomer here did a wonderful job with him, giving him the lion cut. He just needed a fresh start, this way I can regularly brush/comb/manage his coat. Ultimately he was was knicked twice but they were 2 very small cuts. Luckily he had an appointment with vet later that week so I figured vet can assess for any potential need for treatment such as suturing or antibiotics to prevent infection. Vet said the cuts were very minor and already began healing up nicely. And honestly cannot fault groomer. This boy is very loving and despite his old age of 21, he will hug you, climb on you, and just not stay still. Ultimately, I will continue to use their service for any future cay grooming needs! read more

The kiddos get pretty spoiled at Puff'n'Fluff and with a Yelp check in, snag a bag of treats. I love that they are locally owned and they've been a regular grooming boutique of choice. Located in a strip mall in Uptown near pretty much the hot spots (Richardson's, Luci's, Starbucks, and even Swizzle Inn), you have plenty of choices of where to wait. Peyton, a Border Collie, and Chance, a Labrador, love getting pampered here. Who wouldn't with a blueberry facial and massage? These are true dog lovers and it shows in the care of your fur babies. I'm extremely disappointed about my pups first ever grooming experience here (and it will actually be the last time we ever come here). My pup is only 6 months old and we were excited for him to see a local groomer for his first time. I scheduled him for a large groom which is said to include "Shampoo and Blueberry Facial, massage, blow dry, nails, glands, ear cleaning and plucking, paw pads shaved, sanitary trim, and a full haircut" other than the wash and haircut on his actual body, I'm convinced that nothing else was even done. Upon picking him up I was told that he hated the blow dryer and that he was still a little damp... odd but okay, what am I going to say to that? Most dogs hate blow dryers. Whatever, I can get passed that. He comes out super excited and looking fluffy and trimmed. I was happy, so we went home. This is where I started noticing that I spent almost $100 for a bath and trim that I could have done myself. Firstly, his ears weren't trimmed AT ALL like we specifically asked. I ended up trimming them myself because his untrimmed ears didn't match the rest of his body. Secondly, his nails were also not trimmed in the slightest. Thirdly, and most importantly, I realized when we got home that my baby's left eye was (still is) red and irritated to no end and discharging like CRAZY. When I called and asked if something happened, I was told "he could have gotten shampoo in his eye, try washing it out and if he needs to go to the vet please let us know." So helpful. I don't think we were asking for the world with our pups grooming needs. He's part chow (aka, incredibly fluffy) so his hair overgrows super fast. It's safe to say we won't be coming back here. I read on the website that they fix grooms if requested but I am so beyond irritated with our experience that I never want to go back here again and waste more of my time with a company who doesn't pay attention to detail or listens to the customers wants and needs. read more

A little pricey and almost too quick to leave my dog and run an errand or two (he was done in ~40 min.) but they handled my Jack Russell with ease, so I certainly can't complain. In fact, I'm lucky I didn't get charged more for my dog since he's a typical JRT (i.e., a bit...difficult and demanding of respect, lol). Thankfully his groomer said he was nice for a JRT, which totally made my day (I think he's a fickle beast, aka JRTerrorist!). I did like the inclusion of nail trimming, anal glands, and ear cleaning in the cost since I'm used to those being extra. I also liked the handsome bandana he was wearing when I picked him up. He definitely looked like he had a nice little trip to the pup salon. I'm not sure the $10 up charge to brush his teeth did much, so I'd skip that in the future. Also, don't forget to check in on yelp for a bonus accessory. I was given a zip up dog waste bag that has been really convenient and fits well on the leash. read more

First and foremost, I picked up my poodle with clumps of poop still in his fur by his butt. It's obviously it's the same stuff that was there before because it's really dry. Also I have now had two dogs groomed and each time they are given back to me with a bunch of fur from another dog. When I called the only solution was to bring him back. Nah, I'm good. I asked about the fur being all over my dogs, and she told me it is from the kennels. I asked if they are put in dirty kennels, she said "they try and clean it each time". That was either handled very incorrectly as per their policy or my dogs go to a groomer to be placed in "hopefully clean kennels" It's not fair that I pay to have them cleaned and they are returned dirty. read more

I previously brought my kitty to Puff and Fluff Arcadia, which I gave a 5-star rating to! I have since moved to the other side of town, so I brought my kitty to this Puff and Fluff since it was closer. This Puff and Fluff is in a shopping plaza next to a busy Starbucks. It is a little tight getting in and out of here. I was able to find a parking space, but it was tight considering I had to open my car door wide to take out the cat carrier. It is really important to me to have transparency when someone else is taking care of my fur baby. What I liked about Puff and Fluff Arcadia is that the door that led back to the grooming area was always open, so you could see what was going on inside. This was not the case at this Puff and Fluff. I also appreciated in the past that I could meet the cat groomer and they would show me the "finished result" so I could see how spiffy my kitty looked before I brought her home (and I was always very pleased, so I would give a good tip afterwards). When I went to pick up my kitty at this Puff and Fluff, she was already back in her cat carrier. I was about to unzip the carrier to check out the grooming job, but then I heard a snarling pit bull behind me. I didn't want to freak my cat out, so I immediately zipped up the carrier. When I brought my cat home, she seemed a little freaked out (which hadn't happened at the other Puff and Fluff). I hope there weren't a lot of dogs there at the same time, but I wouldn't know since I couldn't see back into the grooming area. I will say that the groomer did a very good job and they did everything that I asked - they got the tangles out, gave her a nice butt cut, etc. I feel like these are small changes that this Puff and Fluff needs to make that will make all the difference in keeping me a customer there (and not having to go across town to the other Puff and Fluff). read more

Our dogs have been here twice now and we are pretty happy with how they look, and feel good about leaving our precious, priceless angels with the team at Puff & Fluff Uptown. For 2 small dogs to get fully groomed, and the tip, we get out of here for a bit over $100. Not sure if that's super pricey for Phoenix, or what, but, coming from the Bay Area, we feel like it's a steal. We paid about $100 for one dog up in Northern CA. Anyway, I love how easy it is to make an appointment, and I love that they'll fix up something I don't like - I'm sooo finicky about my yorkie's bangs, and I've had my wife go back in to ask them to cut some more off, and they do, so that's great. This location usually does a very good job on my doggies haircuts. I understand the prices are $50-60. For our shih tzu we pay $58. Our American Eskimo I took her on a 20% off deal day yesterday and it was $50.40, that means it would've been $63 before the discount. I'm not sure why the up-charge before the discount but I've been taking her here for 7+ years and she's the calmest dog ever, so I'm not sure why I'm all of a sudden paying more. Also my last two visits the girl wasn't wearing a mask. This might not bother a lot of people but it bothers me. I bought it up the first time and they said they'd talk to the employee and the second visit she still refuses to wear one! Unfortunately I have to update my review to one star. I've been taking my 6 year old golden retriever to this location for about two years. Come to find out after taking him home (and hearing him licking for hours) he was cut pretty badly on his foot. I understand groomers may slip or there may be a difficult dog, but I would have really liked to have at least been informed.... Quite a shame because I drive 45 minutes to this Puff and Fluff location given past experiences, but I'll definitely be finding a new groomer. I never write reviews like this but this establishment will not call me back about cutting my dog. As a loyal customer for about 2 years, we were shocked when the groomer cut our dogs paw and handled the situation horribly. I understand mistakes happen, but when entering the salon to pick up, the groomer charged us and allowed for the potential for us to tip and did not mention she had cut our dog until after the payment was processed. My husband said he had a weird feeling when entering the groomers to pick up because there wasn't anyone there except the woman who groomed our dog, and she didn't have our dog on her lap like she normally does- he said that our dog was in the back all alone (as no other dogs were there) which he felt weirded out by. It's a good thing he sensed this strange energy because it turns out our dog was left in a kennel with a fresh wound (not dressed by the way, have no way of knowing if it was cleaned) while the woman was in the front charging him for the grooming. Upon getting the dog from the crate in the back room she mentioned our dog got a "nick" on her foot and suggested to to keep our dog off of the paw for the rest of the day. She also said she just wasn't paying attention when the cut happened and that it wasn't our dogs fault which was such a strange mention. She did not explain whether or not they cleaned it, and she left our wounded dog alone in the crate (our dog was likely licking her paw due to the wound which can cause infection). When we looked at her paw it didn't look like "nick" at all it looked like she had been cut in two spots on her paw (photo is attached). Assuming it had stoped bleeding per the groomers mention, when we got home we went to wrap it to keep it sanitized but before we could even begin to gather the items needed we noticed blood marks on our bed, as our dog was STILL bleeding. We called the groomer multiple times but didn't get a call back. Then, we text the number that informed us to pick up our dog- no text back (this was Saturday immediately after picking her up). By Monday we received a call saying they got our message but that we wouldn't hear from the manager because she's on vacation. The person on the phone call noted that our dogs paw was glued to stop bleeding which was not mentioned to us at all! Update- it's Tuesday and still no call from the groomers. I called again but was told this time that the manager would call right away. Still no call. We're getting horrible communication from every angle. FYI our dogs paw still has some new blood on the dressing we put on her (and we clean and change it a few times a day). I understand mistakes happen, but all of this- from the groomer who cut our dog, charged us and left our dog alone in a kennel with her wound before telling us only part of what happened to the manager who hasn't gotten back, has been handled horribly. I'm so sad for my dog and because we have recommended this place to everyone who needs a groomer- not anymore. What kind of establishment communicates in this way? I'm leaving this review because no one has gotten back to me so maybe I can prevent some people from experiencing the same thing. *Update- the owner called today, expressing her upset and went over a variety of protocol she has in place that were completely disregarded by staff on the day our dog was cut. The owner was considerate and did make us feel heard when she shared the same frustration in staff neglect of the issue as we did. She offered to pay for vet visits as needed and an immediate refund of the service we paid for. Though we're grateful for this, unfortunately we wish to have been communicated about this when it happened so that appointments could be organized etc. Her gestures have been kind, but we will still go elsewhere for our dog to get groomed. read more

Lady at the front (not the normal staff) obviously didn't want to be there- or had another place to be. We made an appointment took our dog in (small- shi tzu) for wash and dry. Not complicated. The lady said they couldn't do just a wash and dry- WHAT? Then called 10 minutes AFTER we left and said she couldn't wash and dry the dog. Worker (20 something female) told us to come pick the dog up. Made a smartass comment when we did. Worst customer service EVER. We have used P&F for well over 10 years. I love this little place! Tucked behind the Starbucks is this cute little salon. I scheduled three dogs here, two large (50lb) high energy dogs and my sweet senior pug. The big dogs just had a nail trim and did great with it. It was their first time and they were patient with us! My pug was fully groomed and trimmed, to cut down on the flying hair a little in my house. She looks fabulous and they took time to get her all clean and trimmed neatly! Yesterday I dropped off my dog Coco for a hair cut because his hair began to get very heavy. We have came to this grooming place for years. We told the groomer to do his haircut like always and she agreed. She asked no questions so I left with the thought of seeing my dog all nice and trimmed. I took my cat to get groomed here and I was not disappointed! My cat is a super anxious girl and she had never been groomed before! I was so worried about her appointment, I swear it was like dropping my kid off at college. They did SUCH a great job and were really quick! Updated review: I recently brought my new puppy in here that we got from a rescue. She had tried to nip our family groomers clippers at her first cut but did well on the 2nd cut . We brought her here and did inform the receptionist about her trying to bite. 2hrs later I get a call saying that "HE" was trying to bite and just not letting anyone touch "HIM" so they asked if I could pick "HIM" up. So I went to pick "HER" up and we informed them it was a girl and we kept saying her but they continued to use him, I had to check if it was the right dog or if I was blind. My dog wasn't washed or cut and was actually cover in feces! So it took them 2hrs to do what?! They must have left her in a cage and of course she got scared after being in there for so long. I'm just really upset that the caller sounded annoyed with the situation and then they actually trying a muzzle on her once we picked her up. Why didn't they do that the first time? We told you she bites from the get go AND we made a morning appointment so why was she looked at 2hrs later? We ended up having to wash her ourselves because she was covered in feces. I will never go back here. Old review: Reasonable priced. Service took about 2hrs as they stated. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to see the cleaning process. There's no clear mirror, everything is behind closed doors and hidden. So it made me a little nervous to leave my dog there. I've been going to Puff and Fluff for a year and a half and for the first year, everything was good. My dog was always groomed to my liking at a reasonable price and the service was great. However, the past few months have not been that great. My dog literally has a panic attack when she gets to the shop. I just thought it's normal for her since she hates baths. However, she came home and for a few days, kept scooting. I thought it had something to do with the irritation with getting her anal glands expressed. She's never had scooting issues when she got her anal glands expressed before. So I came back again 4-5 weeks later for another groom and told the owner/employee my dog was scooting and not sure why she's irritated the last time she was there. I picked her up from her groom again and the scooting didn't stop for a good week! I was talking to my neighbor and she had told me her dog went to a groomer (not sure if it was the same shop) and her dog was scooting too. They took the dog to the vet and was told that the dog had a cut due to the way they shave or cut the bum area. I'm not sure if that was the same type of issue in my case (my dog had stopped scooting at this point) but I was concerned so I sent a text to Puff and Fluff to express my concerns. I wasn't livid by any means, but I wanted them to take great consideration the next time I take my dog in. Overall good experience. Front desk people were helpful. Not exactly the cut I asked for. I requested they just clean up the feathering on his legs and feet and to cut back the fur behind his legs (his bum area). I said they could clean up the fur around his ears (just the wispy parts) but keep the length. I was pretty specific about a few things I did not want done, but were done anyways. I specifically asked to keep the length on his tail and the fur on his chest as-is and some of his fluffy ear fur. They were cut. And the cut was a bit uneven on his chest and ears. Not the end of the world, it will grow back. He still looks great. Just not what I asked for. I think it would help if you were able to actually talk to the groomer servicing your pet. Sometimes things get lost in translation. I didnt ask to speak to them, so I want to make that clear. I didnt ask to speak to them, so it's not as if I wasnt allowed to. I just didnt think about it. Wanted to share my experience with others as some folks might be pickier. My recommendation is to ask if you can speak with the groomer if you have a specific look in mind.
