We set up four training sessions with Mike M. and had such a good and productive time that we did four more, and Murphy-Lou is doing great! She's mastered all the basics (i.e., sit, come, down, heel, off, place, etc.) and she no longer just ignores me when interested in something else, but turns to me glaring, "I am a Coonhound, you oaf, just one moment, there is a leaf here and I must give it appropriate consideration", and when finished she'll walk over and sit next to my foot. My puppy screamed in pain and the "trainer" started yelling at me to "get out!" and as I carried my screaming puppy out he mockingly shouted to all the other owners "She's just a drama queen!" My puppy would not bear weight on the injured foot. X-rays showed there were no broken bones, so the veterinarian bandaged her leg and we waited a week until the bandage was removed to find out if she needed an MRI to assess ligament injury. Fortunately when her bandage was removed she was no longer lame so no ligament injury. We had an almost $500 veterinary bill from her injury at the Zoom Room and the owner/manager never contacted us. The "trainer" said he would refund our $25 puppy play group fee and did not.

When I first went to Kim about my dogs, it was because one of my dogs nearly killed the other. Kim's response was, "soon enough they'll be happy together." I didn't believe her. I thought I was going to end up the victim of a dog mauling. I didn't have much hope. She taught me how to gain control through absolute follow through and correction timing. Today, their struggles are a distant memory. They get along great! Since training together with my dogs in the sport of K9 nose works, we've gained a connection I didn't think was possible.
