Outstanding Experience with Destination Dog Training! Andrew and his team do a fantastic job. The training, follow-up, and ongoing support are truly first class. From the very beginning, they showed incredible professionalism, patience, and a genuine passion for helping both dogs and their owners succeed. My goal is to get my dog and myself certified as a therapy dog team, and after leaving my dog with them for two weeks of intensive training, I'm more confident than ever that we'll reach that goal. The improvement has been remarkable -- not just in obedience, but in calmness and focus. What really stands out is their willingness to assist whenever needed. Whether it's a quick question or additional guidance, Andrew and his team are always there to help. I can't recommend Destination Dog Training highly enough for anyone looking for real results and a positive, supportive experience. read more

They were amazing with our puppy Leo. Before taking him to training he would struggle to walk even ten minutes without getting zoomies and running circles around us which was quickly becoming dangerous since our dog is so large. Now he has incredible leash manners and we are both enjoying long walks. Lauren has been great at answering our questions and we can tell Leo loves her. We enjoyed seeing all of the enrichment, training and confidence building activities they were doing with him on their instagram as well. We look forward to boarding and more training sessions with them in the future. Absolutely recommend! read more

I cannot thank the people at Destination Dog Training, especially Lauren for training our sheepdoodle!! He came to them with zero confidence, no manners, no known commands and full of anxiety!! He stayed for their 3 week program and came back a brand new dog full of confidence, minding his manners, knows some commands now and listens to them and his anxiety has been relieved. Worth every penny!! The facility is spotless, the trainers are all so nice and the field trip with pictures are the best! I interviewed several places and this one met every one of our needs and expectations! A 10 out of 10!!! read more

We brought our 3 year old rescue here for board and training after experiencing unsettling behaviors at home. We interviewed several other trainers before choosing Andrew, and are so grateful for his expertise. We received a comprehensive training for Luna and us. He dialed in to our specific needs and many concerns His dedication and love for dogs is apparent. He helped us understand why she was behaving certain ways and trained us how to help her. Now my dog is calmer and follows commands. His training is relevant and effective. We received follow up calls and home visits for training support. If you are looking for a top notch trainer-dedicated and professional- then these are your people. We are impressed and ever so grateful!!! read more

We had a great experience with Destination Dog Training! Our Lilli learned so much and was taken care of very well. Huge thank you to Lauren and everyone there! Highly recommend!! read more

We adopted a young dog, Sweetie who had been on the streets for most of her life. She was very loving but had developed a kind of PTSD to new sounds, sights and people. She ran away the first moment we brought her home. I felt completely unprepared to deal with all of her issues. It seemed hopeless. Luckily, I found DDT who took her in for 3 weeks of boarding and training. We chose them because we could visit her once a week while she was there and the training was not food-oriented. When panicked, food meant nothing to Sweetie. We worked with Lauren who is a high energy, very experienced and knowledgeable trainer. She and the DDT team made such a difference in Sweetie's life. She is much calmer, walks well by my side, sits quietly in her bed in the kitchen and seems much happier. Sweetie is still a work in progress but Lauren and the team gave us a foundation from which to work to keep tweaking things. We are very grateful to them all. read more

Ten minutes into our first training session after they had our boys for a week I looked at my husband and said "we should have done this a long time ago." The thought of taking our big dogs into public places triggered my anxiety (followed by wine drinking... so not ALL bad I guess lol). For some context, we have one Pit/Boxer and a Ridgeback mix who were mild nightmares on walks, (especially if there were other dogs!), complete nightmares in public places, pretty well behaved at home, the ridgeback has anxiety with new people so bringing people into the house was an issue, but they had gotten into a few fights and the last one that ended up in a midnight urgent care was the final straw. They're older boys, 8 and 7, so for us progress and improvement was what we were looking for. Not perfection from the second they came back from training. You know the saying. :) Well it turns out these old dogs like learning new tricks... or at least they tolerate it! A few days after the 4 week training completed I took our biggest problem child to Home Depot and I got stopped at least 5 times by people telling me what an amazingly "good boy" I had there. It sounds stupid, but I got misty. We are excited for the weather to break for hikes, patio coffee, and to live our lives with them in tow. There are some situations that Andrew and his team can not replicate, like the territorial behavior and the fights. But, people coming into our house is something that we have the tools for now. We now have dogs who we can communicate with and we need to make those events more of a consistent, normal thing and PRACTICE it, like anything we learn to do well in life. So it isn't perfect, which would be impossible to expect. If you're looking for magic you won't find that anywhere. We and our boys have to work to ensure the changes progress, become more consistent, and eventually second nature. I'm excited to see how much further they can go with just with how far they've come. Thank you Andrew and your team for absolutely everything! read more

Our two, 2 year old Labrador Retrievers, recently completed the 2 week basic obedience course. They had typical dog misbehaviors, including but not really limited to rushing to greet people, crowding us in the kitchen, barking incessantly, general annoyance type stuff :/ They returned to us with such a huge improvement that we are absolute fans of this place. Lauren worked with us afterwards, coming to the house to oversee our handling and has been texting to check in as well as answer any questions we have. As others have said, I only wish we'd done this much earlier. Obedient dogs are such a pleasure for us and our friends who visit. I highly recommend Destination Dog Training read more

If you are looking for a top notch trainer-dedicated and professional- than these are your people. I brought Mavis- my shepherd/staffy mix- when she was 8 months old because she was severely reactive. We would try to go on walks but it was impossible because of her pulling, snarling, heckles rising, barking & lunging and other dogs. Before coming to DDT I tried to do classes elsewhere but she barked non stop and disrupted everyone else, then I tried one on one lessons and those didn't go anywhere- she would not stop lunging and barking at other dogs. We brought Mavis to DDT and I met with Lauren. She told me boarding Mavis would help her. Originally we thought she'd stay for 3 weeks but she needed to stay a little longer for 4. During Mavis's stay I came to visit at specific times to learn how to continue her training at home. Then they had me bring my kids to teach them too. We utilize a prong collar but in the beginning she was so reactive that the e-collar was a better option. They showed us the proper way to train with both of them. In the beginning I was very nervous about using either of them but honestly- after seeing how they are used my nervousness was put to rest. After Mavis came home Lauren came to my house several times to help us both adjust. And I am so thankful to say that she has acclimated to our home beautifully. Her training continues with me even now over a year later- but that's just the kind of dog Mavis is. She can pass by other dogs without barking, she sits, lays down, stays on her place, heels, and doesn't run out the front door. Our walks are a pleasure. I still use the prong collar and periodically mavis needs the e-collar but overall she has matured very nicely. Whenever I have questions DDT is a text away. Whenever I need to board Mavis I can leave her with them for some training brush ups. She loves them, and honestly they feel like an extended family. Recently we had 2 Malinois attack mavis on a walk. She wasn't hurt, luckily- but I immediately texted DDT and by the next day they worked with me to make sure she didn't regress into reactivity. All in all if you have a reactive dog bring them here. I couldn't recommend them more. It's worth EVERY penny. read more

We adopted a large breed dog from Maricopa County, so we had no history on him. Even though he was super cuddly and loving, he was also a rambunctious 110# untrained puppy Houdini! He busted through our RV gate, pushed out screens to jump out windows, went totally bonkers when he saw other dogs, and could jump 6 feet in the air trying to see what's going on over the other side of the fence! He played rough, jumped on us all the time, counter surfed, and had extreme separation anxiety. We hired a trainer who came to the house and gave us exercises, but he was too smart, too bored and too out of control. After only 3 months, we were on our last nerve and ready to send him to the circus! Instead, we opted for doggie boarding school - Destination Dog Training to the rescue! They asked and answered a lot of questions in our initial phone call. At our first meet n greet, we met Lauren, who became our trainer. She sat with us for an hour and gathered lots of info about "Houdini," aka Teddy Bear, as well as our goals and expectations. When we left our fur baby there, we were tearful, yet excited for the structure and calmness we knew would come with proper training. Over the course of 4 weeks, Teddy learned so much! We went there for education and training; they brought him for home visits to utilize his newly acquired skills in his environment. They had outings, shared lots of photos of his experiences, and allowed us to call/text as often as we wanted to just check in. When he came home for good, Lauren walked with us in the neighborhood to show us how to work with him when old triggers appear. Plus, we had continuing ed after 'graduation.' I really cannot brag enough about DDT (obviously). Our boy is happy and waaaay less anxious. Our household is tranquil, and we are falling more and more in love with Teddy every day! Thank you DDT! read more

Our family continues to use Andrew at Destination dog training each time we get a new puppy, as he is thorough, knowledgeable and professional. We got Lily (American Bulldog) from the Maricopa shelter in October and was given minimal information regarding her background. Around December we began noticing more anxious and aggressive towards my family and strangers. We received Andrew's number from another trainer who felt he could help us best. I am so grateful we got in touch with Destination dog training! Lily stayed with them for 4 weeks and is a whole new dog! We learned how to help her relax and have consistency in the home. My kids have gotten involved in the training and we have a calm, obedient dog now! Andrew is responsive in phone calls and emails, thorough with his explanations and so knowledgable!! You will not regret reaching out to Andrew at Destination Dog Training!!! read more

We had a wonderful experience with Destination Dog Training for our French Bulldog. He was there for two weeks and we visited twice for human training. The staff is amazing and the place is extremely well maintained. When he came home, it was easy to transition for him to continue training. Definitely a five star business! I highly recommend them even for the little dogs! read more

We sent our boxer puppy Archie to the three-week puppy training and it was the best decision we ever made! Having owned a boxer before we know how excited and rambunctious they can be and needed help training him and ourselves. Andrew and the team are wonderful! They are very patient and listen to all your concerns and help you understand what your dog needs to be his (or her) best. We go out to eat with our dog a ton and get complimented every time how people have never seen a boxer so calm. If you want to set your dog up for success, then I highly recommend DDT. read more

Hands Down the best dog training and the best investment for your dog. This is my second dog that has been trained with Andrew, but the first time I have done a training retreat. We have a 6 month old Bernedoodle who was very scared of noises and likes to jump. With two young kids, we wanted to make sure that our dog was trained. We also wanted her to be able to take peaceful walks, take her on vacations and out in public with us. The transformation in two weeks was incredible. Andrew keeps you involved during the entire process and follows up after training at your home. He is truly the dog whisperer and knows exactly what is best for each dog. I am so grateful for how we helped trained our dog. She is such a pleasure to take her on walks. I feel completely comfortable boarding her with Andrew when we go on vacation and I am so thankful we have a safe place for her to stay. Call him and do the training retreat. I promise you will not regret it. He is truly the best at his job. read more

Andrew and his team are absolutely phenomenal and we can't recommend them enough! We were struggling with our corgi puppy constantly herding us, barking in the house, and refusing to sit still. After working with Andrew, he no longer nips our heels, is excellent on walks, and never barks at strangers in the house. We just started agility training, and he significantly exceeded the expectations of the trainer with his obedience on his first day. Our puppy also loves being boarded with Andrew and practically runs through the door when he sees where he's going! Thank you so much, we have such a goodest boy now! read more

There is not enough time or space to write all of the reasons why I think Andrew and DDT are the best dog trainers in the Valley. I had a 5 month old Newfypoo that I was convinced was the worst puppy in the entire world. He was completely out of control, barking, jumping, biting at me and my husband constantly and nothing we did seemed to work. I found out about Andrew from a neighbor and got my pup scheduled for a 3 week board and train. I was a little skeptical that this monster of a puppy could be transformed into a canine good citizen in just 3 weeks but we gave it a shot. On our first visit after only 1 week I couldn't believe the difference. He was calmer and listened to commands already. On the second visit he was even better. By the time we got him back in 3 weeks he was such a joy to have in our home. Being a puppy we still have a lot of work to do but I feel like I have the knowledge and tools to continue his training. It's been 3 1/2 months since we got him back and he's still doing great. Andrew is always available to answer questions and give advice. The group outings to places like farmers markets, coffee shops, restaurants, etc that he coordinates are so helpful to keep up with the training and keep our pup behaving well in public places. I am so happy we found Andrew and now have a peaceful home again with our dog. read more
