John has been amazing to my two pups! With in-home training lessons he's taught Molly, my 7-month old Great Dane puppy, to walk in heel with a loose leash AND spent some extra time teaching my other dog Teddy some new tricks. This weekend I had to spend some time away from the pups and decided to leave them with John for doggy day care. He sent me photos and videos through the day so I knew they were well taken care of, and even let all 100lbs of Molly snuggle into his lap. He's also way more affordable AND flexible than any other trainers I've spoken to. (Also he has some pretty adorable dogs of his own) Thank you GottaTrain! Molly and Teddy and can't wait to come play again soon!

I am SO happy and extremely impressed with our first training session!! Penny had some basic commands down but not perfected... John was able to expand on what she knows so far and use that to help her learn some more challenging skills. He is not only teaching your dog, he's teaching YOU the tools on how to help your dog be successful, how they learn & how to get the behavior/skills you're looking for in your dog! He knows his stuff, he loves what he does and you can feel his passion & that he genuinely wants the best for you and your dog! I will be recommending him to all my puppy/dog friends.. & we already can't wait for our next session!!

John is an amazing trainer! He worked with my entire family, helping us create clear boundaries and expectations for my pup. He taught my 10 year old how to interact well with Raiden and he also taught my 3 year old son and 2 year old daughter how to give commands and rewards. He went over loose leash walking with us as well and gave recommendations on types of activities that would best help Raiden exert a lot of that puppy energy. He also gave my son the job of feeding our pup to make sure he was included and to help the two of them have a good relationship. Raiden now knows not to jump on the counters or people. He knows how to sit and wait until we give him the okay to grab something he wants. He lays down on command and he plays dead now too thanks to John's technique. John even showed us how to get him to do cute little puppy circles. We're working on shake now too. I highly highly highly recommend John!

Jon came out to Dallas to work with Buckley this week on some recall tools so we can get him well trained off leash. We came into this fully prepared to hear the hard truth. No flowery nonsense that doesn't actually change anything. About half way through it was still HARD to hear about some of the attention withholding we'd have to practice to create the respect needed to accomplish our goals. But we KNOW that it's what's best to help our dog thrive. When the day comes that we'll be dog + a stroller, it will all be worth it. We spent 2 hours together and his tools and examples were excellent. I wish I would have taken a few more notes but he did give me an outline to take home. Within minutes you know that this guy is a pro and you won't regret hiring him. Worth every penny and he's a cool guy!

My border collie, Rebel, was left with a long term foster while i am taking care of some mental health trouble i'm having.. While the foster was out of town, he was handed over to John to be looked after for a few days... John quickly learned that Rebel has some issues with nervousness, fearfulness and aggression among many other things... he decided over the course of these "few days" that Rebel would be better off staying with him for the remainder of his time in foster care and voluntarily offered to foster, himself. he has taken the time to work with and to build confidence in himself... he also takes the time to keep him groomed and well fed when he refuses to eat kibble. he also sends me pictures and videos regularly so that i can rest a little easier knowing he's in good hands and he's a happy baby! he has literally and legitimately gone ABOVE AND BEYOND here. i wish i could give him 25+ stars for the level of care, kindness, love and patience he has displayed with Rebel. THANK YOU JOHN AND GOTTATRAIN!

We half a husky mix who was honestly too much pup for how under-skilled we were as dog parents. I read books, watched hours of YouTube and after months of trying to do things ourselves it was obvious we needed professional assistance. My dog controlled the house, knocked over my kids, and would potty wherever she felt like going. It was chaos. After a few months of following John on social media, I finally reached out to make an appointment. We live all the way in Tucson but John was super responsive and worked around our schedule for an in-home training session (which was impressive considering how busy he seems to be). John provided insight into how we could better support our pup's intellectual needs and how we can make her happier and thus better behaved. Even just after our first experience, the tools we took away were invaluable and our dog's behavior made a 180° turn. We've seen him for more tips and guidance since and i couldn't recommend his services more. Your dog does not have to control your life! If they are, you're doing both yourself and your dog a disservice. You NEED this balanced trainer in your life. Thanks John!!

I could not figure out why nothing was working. A colleagusuggested that I try a dog trainer named Bob Solomini that he had used in the past. His passion and confidence in Bob convinced me and even though I was very skeptical and worn out I decided to give it one last try. I am excited to tell you about my invaluable experience and what I learned from it: -my dog was only a small part of the problem, but the majority of the behavioral problems stemmed from me. Dogs aren't born knowing how to behave the way humans would like them to, so we as responsible dog owners need to teach them. -we don't automatically realize what we are doing wrong and unless a true professional who really cares can teach us the correct way we can't be sure that we will ultimately have a happy relationship with our pet. -after four years of pulling my hair out and stressful walks with my dog I wound up moving to a new neighborhood, and my dog was totally out of control when I walked him. When he saw people with dogs, he went crazy and I could not stop him from barking and pulling. In fact, he pulled me down a couple of times where I sprained my ankle and another time where I hurt my knee. In fact, most of my neighbors walked the other way when they saw us and complained about my dog's bad behavior. After the first lesson, I immediately knew that I had found something different. Humane, focused,, professional, and results driven. I am so lucky that I found all American K-9 and especially Bob Solomini. I love walking my dog now, and all of my neighbors have praised the incredible transformation that they see. This was literally a life-changing experience for my dog and for me. I am so thankful that I found somebody that really knows what they're doing and really cares -not only is Bob a great person, but also the Best dog trainer that I have ever met. I highly recommend this trainer and business to anyone who is serious about having a great dog!

I tried a different training program shortly after I rescued her which made her reactivity worse. I knew I had to find someone who could provide the type of training my dog would respond to. Brenda did a consultation with us and she really listened to what the concerns and goals were, and came up with a personalized plan for us. My frenchie is a different dog now in the best way possible as a result of Brenda's training methods. We had four sessions, and my frenchie can see another dog on our walks and not lunge or jump at them. He was 3 years old and completely untrained when we adopted him. We got the basics done through PetCo but we still had some troublesome behaviors we were having trouble addressing. A big part of training is also for us to learn how best to reinforce the commands; Brenda left us with homework for the week to practice. Woody still has some stuff to learn but we have a strong foundation to continue his training journey and a lot more tools in our toolbox. Highly recommend Brenda!

I now realize I talk too much to my dog and should use more indirect, non-verbal "pressure" to communicate commands to my dog. Jose and Monique of JD Powerhouse offer a 6-week DIY Saturday afternoon basic obedience class. I enrolled to "refresh" my ability to "communicate with" or effectively handle my dog. I have participated in various obedience classes with my dog over the years, so my dog was somewhat trained. She's a 4-year-old, American Pit Bull Terrier, with no major behavior issues. Although, she did not like when other dogs barked at her (or me) and would react for short bursts until they passed us on our daily walks. Since my dog is a 70-pound, square-headed, somewhat muscular dog, she appeared the aggressor. Jose and Monique increased my confidence and ability to maintain quiet control of my dog during our neighborhood walks. As always, I needed the training, not my dog

What I really appreciate in addition to their expertise, clear direction and upfront approach is that they didn't sell me on what I didn't need. José made it clear very quickly that it would not be the best use of money to board and train my dog, Piper. Instead, he offered me a customized package that would maximize the training and my money. That's badass. I have gone to other evaluations where trainers were trying to scare me into pick the most expensive package by over inflating the concerns I had. I left those feeling overwhelmed both by the price and by the evaluation itself. That is NOT the experience I had with José and Monique and it made the decision to choose them so easy.
