Rob's Dogs - Working on focus!

    Rob's Dogs

    (67 reviews)

We have been working through some serious challenges with our dogs fighting, and our main goal was…read moresimply to help them safely cohabitate in the same home. We had previously completed seven sessions with another trainer at Rob's Dogs and while that experience was fine for basic obedience, it felt like 'training' rather than the deep level behavioral correction we actually needed. Thankfully, because of the Rob's Dogs lifetime guarantee, we were connected with Joel. From the first hour, the difference was night and day. Joel immediately identified the core issues and provided professional, actionable insight on how to actually shift the dogs' behavior, rather than just running through commands. We already feel significantly more confident moving forward and have total trust in the tools and guidance Joel has given us. If you are struggling with behavioral issues that go beyond the basics, I highly recommend working with Joel. We are incredibly optimistic about the progress we'll make in our upcoming sessions.

My 81 year old mom moved to an urban setting with a small yard and a neighborhood with lots of…read moresmall, yappy dogs that sets off reactivity in her German Shepherd. Although the dog has been through several training programs, she had recently reverted back to being reactive on leash: barking, pulling, and lunging at any dog that barked at her or gave her a "look". Thankfully I found Rob's Dogs through a search online. Rob offers dog training either through individual sessions sold as a packet of 8 or 3, or you can elect to do a board and train method. Since my mom's dog had done two board and trains with other training facilities in Florida and Texas, I opted for the individual sessions sold as a packet of 3. Not to disparage the other training schools, I want to note that the dog had learned a great deal of commands, but she was a little rusty and selective when doing them and was selectively reactive on leash around other dogs. What we needed was a trainer that could come to my mom's neighborhood and see the dog being reactive in the environment where she was going to be walked. Thankfully Rob's Dogs offered this as an option. It cost a significant amount to do this, but it was possible. The additional cost was for the mileage and drive time to my mom's place. We had a meet and greet at the facility. Rob, the owner, met with us and got the back story on the dog and the current behavior problems. He took the dog and walked her around a bit and near other dogs, tested her response to commands and leash pressure. He explained the package options available to us. He also made us aware that we would be using both a prong collar and e-collar to reinstate her former training. We had these tools, but my mom hadn't used them with the dog since she left Florida, and I had never used them. We were assigned a trainer who was contracted by Rob. Lauryn was super friendly and had a love and full understanding of the German Shepherd breed. She herself had a German Shepherd. She went over the operation of the two collars which I was not familiar with at all. Rob's dogs sent us a link and password so that we could watch some important training videos. His website also had some very useful training tips. I highly recommend watching/reading this information carefully and then reviewing it again each week. It's easy for owners to slip into bad habits quickly which results in their dogs behaving in ways they don't want. You will have to enforce rules and get into a routine. Restrictions can be lifted once the dog consistently behaves as desired. You will find that YOU will have to do the hard work. The trainer and Rob's Dogs will assess your current situation and give you the tools and training to use those tools to reinforce good behaviors. It won't happen overnight. You will need to work with the dog for at least an hour each day to reinforce the seven commands and expectations. As I mentioned, we only had three sessions. This training was going to determine whether or not my mom could keep and handle her dog. Immediately after the first session, we started using the tools and putting restrictions in place inside the house to set the law of the land. Right away, we noticed a difference. While the dog was already really well behaved in the house, it improved her response to us when we walked her outside of the house. The prong collar made a drastic difference in her behavior when she saw other yappy dogs on the walk. I no longer had to worry about her lunging, pulling or barking incessantly in an aggressive stance. She still got up, moved forward, and barked once, but it was all very controlled. I didn't have to use all of my strength to hold her back. The real test came when my mom was able to walk her dog around other yappy dogs. After session two, my mom was easily able to do this, and I felt confident that continuing this training would allow my mom to keep her dog. Her German Shepherd is sometimes still reactive, but it is much more controlled and manageable now. In time, and with continued consistent practice, I believe my mom's dog will eventually stop the reactivity altogether. She has already shown amazing progress and only slips occasionally. If you are looking for effective dog training (well, really we know it is human training to learn how to effectively communicate with the dog), then consider Rob's Dogs. You will work hard to get your dog's behavior issues resolved, but the longterm results will allow you to have a wonderful relationship with your pet.

The shelter we got her from recommended another dog trainer/behavior specialist that we consulted with first, however we didn't have great feelings about that option so we decided to look elsewhere. We came across All American K9 & the phone call we had with Bob sold it all. He was not pushy, selling, nor trying to sway us for a board & train. Matter of fact, he recommended private sessions instead of the board & train - which is what we were pushed to thinking was the only option from the previous behavioral specialist consult. We also read all the reviews of All American K9 - all those 5 star reviews are definitely there for a reason & I'm proud to be writing one myself! Our dog struggles with aggression out of fear, lack of confidence, and nervousness. After the first private session, there was a noticeable difference in her - confidence is building & fear/nervousness is dwindling. Bob teaches you all the right information & tricks in the training sessions so all you have to do is go home & continue them! We love that we are the ones handling our dog while he is educating us in real time. He is a pretty personable guy too, easy to get along with while your slotted session flies by. We can't thank you enough Bob!!! These private lessons have been the best thing we could have done for her & us as her owners! In conclusion - if you love your dog, invest in the time & money and you won't be disappointed with All American K9

I could not figure out why nothing was working. A colleagusuggested that I try a dog trainer named Bob Solomini that he had used in the past. His passion and confidence in Bob convinced me and even though I was very skeptical and worn out I decided to give it one last try. I am excited to tell you about my invaluable experience and what I learned from it: -my dog was only a small part of the problem, but the majority of the behavioral problems stemmed from me. Dogs aren't born knowing how to behave the way humans would like them to, so we as responsible dog owners need to teach them. -we don't automatically realize what we are doing wrong and unless a true professional who really cares can teach us the correct way we can't be sure that we will ultimately have a happy relationship with our pet. -after four years of pulling my hair out and stressful walks with my dog I wound up moving to a new neighborhood, and my dog was totally out of control when I walked him. When he saw people with dogs, he went crazy and I could not stop him from barking and pulling. In fact, he pulled me down a couple of times where I sprained my ankle and another time where I hurt my knee. In fact, most of my neighbors walked the other way when they saw us and complained about my dog's bad behavior. After the first lesson, I immediately knew that I had found something different. Humane, focused,, professional, and results driven. I am so lucky that I found all American K-9 and especially Bob Solomini. I love walking my dog now, and all of my neighbors have praised the incredible transformation that they see. This was literally a life-changing experience for my dog and for me. I am so thankful that I found somebody that really knows what they're doing and really cares -not only is Bob a great person, but also the Best dog trainer that I have ever met. I highly recommend this trainer and business to anyone who is serious about having a great dog!

There is obvious obedience changes in our puppy, but he is still a playful puppy. He now knows the following commands: sit, down, place, come, and heel. During training, she provides lots of pictures and of your dog during training. We loved this, because we missed him and wondered how he was progressing. We were in contact with her every couple days for updates. After the 3 weeks, Chantel provided us with a 2-hour training session to teach us how to use the commands and use the e-collar along with the commands. It definitely takes getting used to, but if you have any issues she also offers to come out to your home one time to help correct any issues you are having (or if you have forgotten anything). Chantel is an amazing dog trainer. We highly recommend her and her program.

We've been working with Troy for almost a year now and our home is finally peaceful. We don't fear for our dogs' safety anymore and our entire pack is the calmest and happiest that they've been in the 8 years we've had them. We have used this past year to put all of the practices and techniques Troy has taught us into use. We also regularly attend his Next Level group classes and Socialization classes with our dogs. We have seen some amazing transformations. That's not to say we haven't occasionally taken a step or two backwards at times but when that does happen, Troy is there to help. He has been available for email advice for certain issues and he has also done a home visit to help with the fighting issues we had in the beginning. Without Troy, I'm afraid we would have had to re-home or put down one of our beloved dogs. Lastly, Troy also boards our dogs for us when we travel. Not only is this great peace of mind - to know our dogs are well-cared for, but we also know that our dogs will be adhering to the same rules, boundaries, and limitations as if we were home with them. No more coming home from vacation and finding that we have to retrain them all over again! We whole-heartedly recommend Troy, especially if your dog has moderate to serious behavioral issues.

I had to make an incredibly anxious call to the Arizona Humane Society for what my options are. From the moment I spoke to a receptionist there, I've never been met with such empathy and compassion over the phone. Ended up scheduling a last minute End-Of-Life appointment for our sweet 12 year old Bichon Frise. Being there for the appointment in person was met with even more compassion and kindness than I could even ask for. From the front desk team to the intake nurse and especially the vet doctor that was going to help our baby girl sleep peacefully and pass on up to Doggy Heaven, all these folks were simply angels. I just had to wait 10 minutes after they helped her go peacefully to receive her finally paw print in clay and will be picking up her ashes in a week they said. The facility is also extremely clean and modern. The mountain views outside in the parking lot are also very nice.
