There is no other place in Scottsdale, or in the valley, that I would bring my 21 month old Frenchie than Romp. Caring, attentive, and extremely precautious, they may require more preventative meds than other doggie day care facilities, but it is for the protection of your dog, as well as other k-9's. From training to boarding, Romp has it all. However, it is the caring staff of this locally owned business, starting with the owner/operator, that makes Romp so very special and unique. When my Frenchie hears me say, " let's go to Romp", he goes nuts...zooming around the house. If he could, he'd give Romp 5-stars as well.

Love Romp! Matt, the owner and his crew are patient and communicative. Our dogs were at Belly Rubz in Scottsdale and suddenly they closed down. I have two dogs, both rescues and the one is afraid of everyone and doesn't transition well. Matt and I worked out a plan to transition her to Romp. It's taken weeks/months but both my dogs love going and have made friends both with the staff and other dogs. I am happy, and most important my pups are happy!

Romp is by far the best dog groomer I've found yet!! They took great care of outlets wheaten terrier Olive!!! She went in looking like a hood rat and left looking like a billion bucks!! They gave us an update and eta and was right on schedule !! They really care about our fur baby ! We make a long drive from Gilbert, but believe me.... ITS WORTH THE DRIVE!! Mathew and his staff are doing a phenomenal job!!!! Amanda did an amazing job on our pup and had great communication!

Porsha, all clean and fluffy, after Amanda groomed her.

Romp is an exceptionally special place. It is so evident by the way my normally fearful little dog finally feels safe and loved when she is staying there. She has always trembled when we had to have her boarded for a vacation, but at Romp, when they take her into their arms, it's clear that she trusts them, and she can tell that they are genuine. Our dog is petrified to be around other dogs, and owner Matthew and everyone there are more than happy to give her individual private attention. They made her feel safe with her bed and other items from home all set up in her room, and they spent playtime with her letting her do her little tricks for her favorite treats. She clearly had fun at Romp and rested well, because she was her same happy self when we picked her up. (At previous places, she had lost weight, looked unrecognizable & had nightmares for several days.) I also love how Romp has a T.V. playing quietly at night to lull the dogs to sleep. I finally feel comfortable leaving my dog, Porsha, with the very experienced and caring people at Romp for boarding as well as grooming. And, you can see in the photo that Amanda does an amazing job of making Porsha look like a cuddly-clean & fluffy dog who actually loves to get her picture taken as soon as we get home.

Niko is so excited to go to Romp.

Matt and his staff are the best in the business. They have been taking care of our cav for over 6 years for boarding and grooming.

As rather new pet owners, we enjoy learning something new every time we visit a PetSmart location. We don't take our new golden doodle yet as she is still quite a bit reactive when other dogs are around. But we do look forward to the day when she can join us and pick out her own toy or treat. Today, we were only stopping by to look for a specific type of collar or martingale, and while we think we found it, we are not 100% certain if she is a small or medium size, so we'll need to come back. We also ended up walking around the store looking at other supplies and getting a sense as to what the deals and special offerings are. We also enjoy using their app and Treats Rewards loyalty program (https://www.petsmart.com/treats-rewards.html). The employees are helpful and quick to answer all of our questions. PetSmart has so much more than we initially realized. Their pet services including grooming, pet classes, hotel boarding, doggie day camp, vet care, adoptions, pharmacy, and a learning center. Featured options at the store include their outdoor shop, new pets, curbside and in-store pickup options, free same-day delivery, saving with auto-ship, fan shop, and gift cards. The Treats Rewards loyalty program is free, and you can earn and redeem points when you shop along with personalized offers. Once you've spent $500 or more, you receive a new tier, and after $1000, you receive the highest tier. Now, you can get an invitation to an annual recognition event and a holiday gift if you make it to the two higher tiers. When I first created my profile, I even received 1,000 points and could immediately use it for a few dollars off my first purchase. We certainly plan on going back soon to at least one of their locations!

With their holiday sales and events, I wanted to swing by and stock up on food toppers for my golden doodle. We haven't been to this location before but happened to be nearby and ran inside for a quick visit. It was easy to find my item, and there was no line up at one of the registers. The toppers were on discount, and I also had a coupon which was able to be stacked. I also saw staff members walking around should I have needed help. There was also an event taking place at the time. Over the past week I tried repeatedly to contact Bark and Bubbles to confirm the cost of my Dad's 1 yr old puppy's bath scheduled for tomorrow. I called three times, sent seven text messages, and emailed twice. I received no response until today -- a full week later. When someone finally called me back, I was told that because the puppy had been a bit matted during his last visit, his bath would now be $75 and possibly higher depending on what they find tomorrow. This was surprising because their website clearly lists baths at $50 - This is NOT a grooming. I would have been ambushed with a higher price at pickup. For context, his condition during his first visit was because he had just been rescued after being abandoned in the desert as a puppy. Since then he has been very well cared for and maintained, so using that first visit as justification for a higher base price doesn't seem reasonable especially when not discussed. What was most disappointing, however, was the lack of communication. It should not take a week and multiple calls, texts, and emails just to get a simple price confirmation. I also had difficulty getting responses during his first appointment and had hoped that was just a one-time issue. Additionally, they ignored the specific requests on his first haircut. I had actually referred more than 20 people to Bark and Bubbles since we first met because I wanted to support this neighborhood business. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning.

This was my first time ever boarding my dogs, and I only scheduled this stay because I had an unexpected family death. Naturally, I was already stressed, and this experience made things worse. When I dropped my dogs off, the front desk employee was working alone. While I understand being busy, the entire check-in process was very disorganized and frustrating. After taking my dogs to the back, she spent time inventorying my items, answering calls, and helping other customers--without once acknowledging me or letting me know I was free to go. I stood there for about 15-20 minutes with no communication, only to eventually be told she didn't need anything else from me. During my dogs' two-night stay, I received zero updates--no messages, photos, or report cards, despite those being features listed in their system. As a first-time boarding experience, this was especially concerning and left me wondering how my dogs were doing the entire time. Pickup was just as disappointing. While bringing my dogs out, one of them got her foot stuck in the doorway and was yelping in pain, and the employee continued pulling her on the leash instead of stopping to help. I was handed my dogs quickly with no update on how they did during their stay. The dogs also smelled so bad when we got them, I had to immediately bathe them when I got home. Overall, the lack of communication, attentiveness, and basic care was very upsetting--especially given the circumstances that led me to need their services in the first place. I had another boarding appointment already scheduled for April which I canceled and will not be returning or recommending this facility.
