They are very friendly towards animals and it seems like they really enjoy what they do both my dog and cat have become great friends with several of the hotel employees. They enjoy their time at the hotel while I'm on business trips. I am so glad that I can leave them in their care and trust them with my animals. He smells so bad, his ears are filthy and he has old Pee still caked all over his stomach. He is not a rowdy little guy. 10 lbs off just love, not aggressive or hard to work with. This location has been our one-stop shop for nearly everything after adopting our beloved cat, Happy, 1 year ago. Over the course of the past year, we have gotten to experience the general shopping, grooming, and pet hotel, and I feel ready to give a complete review. I know there are a lot of negative reviews for this location but I've never experienced anything remotely bad. All I can say is to give this place a chance. Retail: all the associates I've interacted with have been friendly and helpful. Right before the adoption of Happy, we purchased everything needed here. I appreciate their regular sales and free rewards program to help save a little bit of money. Grooming: they have cat grooming! Happy has been seeing 2 groomers and both have been excellent. He is very tolerant of grooming and behaves wonderfully; we are definitely blessed in this area and very grateful. Every visit he comes out so clean and fresh smelling. Cat grooming is something you need to schedule in advance as they require groomers specially trained for cats if you are interested. It is super easy to do this online and I gotta give special props for that. Pet hotel: We used this service to board Happy while we traveled out of state for our summer vacation last month. It was a new experience for all of us and the staff at the hotel was exceptional. Sadly, Happy was very stressed during his first 2 days of the stay. A staff member called me to relay his time so far and concerns. Per their procedure, they took him to see a vet as he was not eating, drinking water, or going to the litter. Vet determined he was just stressed and needed extra love and attention, which the staff happily gave. Happy was able to come around and resumed his normal habits. I did call everyday that we were away and each person I spoke with was so pleasant and informative. When we went to pick him up after returning home, the team expressed their love for Happy and said that they enjoyed having him there. I felt the cost of the service was very reasonable, especially for all that they did for us, and I would not hesitate to use this service if the need arises again. read more

This was my first time taking my dog to an animal hotel. I can certainly say that i will not use petsmart for a hotel stay ever again. My dog came in normal and when i picked him up the dog was afraid an had his testicles swollen and almost looked burnt. Attached is some pictures shortly after i got of the car. I was told he was licking his area alot but in my 3 years with my dog he doesnt like private only to clean his tip. I cant imagine what my dog went through in his time of stay. read more

My son and I heard about this female cat that was up for adoption at this location. So as soon as I got off work I rushed to this store with my child to check her out. The front male tonight said "are you sure you're just not looking" I was beyond upset to be disrespected by a child in front of my child. We wanted this cat! My coworker sent me photos after viewing this cat and we were sure about it!!! Then when we asked for help after doing paper work the "young" female caught an attitude about oh did you come and find us after your paper work? It's only been 5 minutes!" I work in customer service so to be treating like crap by a bunch of chums truly upset me. I will take this review further around the community. I like using petsmart for grooming and usually they do a great job at this location. Today was different. I was charged an extra amount on top of the already expensive spa choice I had picked. I often get my dog whatever special they have for the season (the expensive one) so that he can get a little bandanna and a toy... I selected that option, and I did not receive the plushy toy that my dog was supposed to receive as well My dog did not have a spring bandanna on. He had no cologne on. And when I looked at his teeth, it does not look like they brushed his teeth either. I paid for the big package so that everything could get done for my dog and all they did was give him a bath a haircut and nail trim. I am extremely disappointed. I take my dog to this location all the time because its usually the better choice but this was a flop. I didn't say anything about it at the time because the girls made it seem like my dog was throwing such a tantrum getting a haircut which I find odd because I take him to the same location most of the time.... I'm worried that some of these young girls who they have cutting the dogs hair Do not have the patience that is required to work with animals. I will be calling the store today because I am feeling a bit ripped off considering my pup did not get the bandana or plush toy. I think this was the push to stop taking my pup here at all to any location. I will start using a smaller groomer. One who cares to ensure everything I am being charged for, I receive. read more

Good customer service but your main aisle that has all displays promo pallets gets a little too much

KEEP YOUR PETS AWAY FROM THE GROOMERS HERE. Our dog came home panicked with cuts throughout his skin. On top of that, they didn't finish the dog's haircut and left him with patches of fur and skin missing. They did not trim his paws or even cut his nails. Then when we spoke to management they said our dog could no longer be groomed at any PetSmart location due to how he acted. It's ridiculous that they can harm your pet and then proceed to blame the pet. My dog has been groomed for 14.5 years and has never had issues. P.S. He went to another local groomer that same day and had no issues. So, turns out these people at PetSmart were just hurting him. This place needs to be reported and shut down. read more

I love the PetSmart company for their compassion towards not only animals but also towards their staff and customers. I happened to be over by this location, and decided to run in and check it out. I didn't realize they open at 10:00 am on Sundays. At least a dozen other people came around 9:30 as well. A couple stayed. Most ended up leaving. Store wasn't quite ready for operation at opening. Items that stock was low on were still pushed to the back. Of course, the item I wanted was one of those items. On the top shelf, I was unable to reach it. I also wasn't able to find help. I ended up choosing a different type of dog food. Toys were in-stock. I had a great experience with the staff, my dog Camaro was a bit nervous when I was gone on vacation, they took her in to the vet to have her checked out due to her health condition and they didn't charge me for this service or medication. Huge thank you to Raven and Itzel for taking care of our little babies. They came home ecstatic after the grooming and looked extra cute with their bandanas. We just moved into the area and our new home has a ton of dead grass. Even though I wasn't aware of my Daisy having a tick, Itzel found it and made sure to inform me, removed it, and showed me the area where she found the tick so I can take proper action on my end. Very grateful for that. And I'm sure daisy is too. Our little mocha always has a great time at the groomers and I appreciated hearing that everyone loved her and she loved everyone. You may not be able to tell, but mocha went in with long hair. Raven gave mocha a better haircut than my barber can give me, and my barber does a great job. I have had to go to different groomers before moving close to this pet smart. We took our staffy to be groomed and were treated horribly by the employees and other people in there. Because a small dog was being aggressive to my dog a grown man yelled at my daughter to control our dog. The girl working there washing a dog gave my daughter a dirty look and told her to control our dog because she can't work in these conditions. She gave us dirty looks and spoke to us like we were idiots. She's literally paid to work in those conditions. Do yourselves a favor and don't bring your fur babies to this place. We got our one year old standard poodle from a shelter and he had an extremely matted and dirty coat. We knew we needed to get him groomed right away because he stunk and, living in Arizona, he was very hot going outside for potty breaks and walks. He was very traumatized from being at the shelter and is very shy. The first time we took him to be groomed he was groomed by Ashley (though our reservation was with Alexis). She was sweet with our dog, used special care and scissor cut a lot of his body because he was too scared of the clippers and brush. We were so excited to rebook another appointment with her! A month later we book our dog another appointment and get a notification that we need to bring our rabies information Since we'd already had an appointment we called Petsmart to double check. Our information had not been saved at our last appointment so we did need to bring it. Annoying... but okay. Fast forward to the appointment and we forget the paperwork. Our fault, still annoying, but we drive back and get the papers. When we go to get the appointment started, Kira insists that she has groomed our dog before. I didn't recognize her and saw Ashley working with another dog. As I tried to explain how his last haircut went she assured me that she had groomed him last time. My dog is very timid and was really scared of being in the small lobby area so I didn't argue with her and we just proceeded with what kind of haircut we wanted. This is our first dog and she asked if we wanted a nail grind. We don't mind paying a few extra bucks for a service but she wouldn't tell us if she recommended it or not which was frustrating. We ended up not even finishing the nail conversation and Kira took him to get his cut started. Our dog did not do well this time around. He was fighting her, was scared, and when we got the call to go back and get him we were really stressed as our dog is really a sweet little guy. When we went to pick him up Kira had clipper burned the bridge of his nose and his hair looked nothing like our last haircut (and rightfully so, as this groomer had not groomed him before). Because he was being obstinate (he is a poodle and poodles are stubborn) she was not able to finish his haircut. Though we haven't had a horrible, one star experience like I have read in some of the reviews, a lot of bad or annoying things add up pretty quickly. We have booked appointments with people who charge a higher rate specifically because that person had good reviews. Our first appointment was originally scheduled with Alexis - though we were very happy with Ashley, but both times we have not had the groomer we requested, which is frustrating. Our dog is very timid and scared, so to have his face burned at the groomer is reason enough for us to not come back. We are new the area and we will have to find a new groomer. read more

-This is the slowest, damn, establishment I shop at. Literally, the cashiers could see a line going down the aisles and STILL not put any pep in their step. I can never just get in and out of there. It's too the point that I've, officially, started going to other pet stores for my pet supplies. -Aside from that, the place is organized, never cluttered or out of stock in what I need. Hand sanitizer and mask are available at the entrance. -Personally, I don't like when staff are at every corner asking if I need anything. However, here-- there would be no one to ask even if I did need assistance. The few times I have needed assistance, there was no one to be found. -Again, I would like to repeat: these cashiers are slllooowwwwww!! Slow. S.L.O.W. SO slow that it annoyed me enough to write this review. -It is clean and the pets for adoption seem healthy and well adjusted enough given their situation (being that they're being displayed for adoption). I know she gives them such a hard time but Amy is AMAZING. Always gives her a great haircut and can even clip her nails even though Chi is a spa. AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COST! I dropped my perfectly healthy 4 year old German Shepard off for a weekend (Fri-Sun) at the PetHotel. Upon getting her back, she began peeing straight blood as soon as I took her to the bathroom. I immediately called the Hotel and asked why my dog is peeing blood and the lady stated "I'm not sure, her charts say she went to the bathroom when we took her out both times each day" I didn't notice until after we got off the phone but that means that in a 24 hour period they only took her out 2 times?! And a total of 4 times over the weekend! Long story short, their negligence and incompetence caused my dog to have a UTI and now I am CONSTANTLY battling infections because once dogs first get one, they are extremely prone to getting more. So thanks PetsMart for the lifelong problems you have now caused my dog. They do not take care of these animals and I will never be returning. Oh and on top of that it took almost 4 months (was originally told it would only take a 2-3 weeks) of calling every weekend and being strung along by MULTIPLE managers to get a reimbursement check, I only got it because I eventually contacted their corporate office directly. read more

Hello, i was just in this pet smart and saw something that you rarely see these days. I don't usually leave reviews as that's really not something super prevalent to me but when I saw these two workers did, I felt it could not go unnoticed. Stephanie was working the lone register and an older man was in her line. She asked for his number and gave him all the time that was needed. I was in line behind him and she kept casual conversation with both of us, cracking jokes. She explained everything to him and even did a price check for him when he was confused on the pricing. When it was my turn in line she was apologetic for it taking a little longer but I honestly did not mind. I loved her patience. The older man seemed a little unstable so once I was done checking out, despite her line, she walked up and asked him if he needed help or assistance. I offered to walk him to his car and another worker named Stephen offered to help him to his car. It's rare acts of kindness that mean the world. Thank you! read more

I'm giving this place 100% negative stars my girlfriend adopted two brother cats they were sold as a pair and two days later one cat seems really sick and showing signs of parvo so I look at his folder we got and he was vaccinated with a live modified virus to prevent three deadly viruses on 10-6-20 and we adopted both cats on 10-23-30 he only had a vacation paper an not his brother and they did not mention one things about this vacation they gave him so clearly that tells us they knew he had a virus already my girlfriend called petsmart an told them how he was and they told her that there nothing they can do that we would need to call the place that they got the cats from to get it figured out.. if this does turn out the one cat has a deadly virus and gets my girlfriend other cats sick with the same thing there will be a LAWSUIT!!! read more

I typically never bring my dogs here to get groomed but during this time my grooming salon that I normally take my dogs to is temporarily closed. I have a maltipoo who gets a little matted in certain spots, and my groomer usually is super sweet and will do her best to save his coat and take her sweet time to handle him with care. I went in to my appointment at petsmart and the first thing the groomer said is oh no we have to shave him all the way down. First of all, I specifically told her that's not what I want and there is another way. Forward 4 hours later, I have a dog whom I don't recognize, he is shaved down to the skin, his entire behavior is off, he has major clipper burn on his genitals and he is acting more scared than ever. I show up early at your closest store around 73rd ave & Bell Rd in Glendale AZ... little doggie on her leash pick up Rachel Ray stuff, ask about location of balls, want to start training with retrieval, pointed to the end of the store; no luck. Ask another employee, and another pointer! No BALLS. I'm getting angry... now getting loud: "where are your balls!" No response no interest. Countdown to 0 from 10,...really loud. Nothing. Last night I purchased an expensive food for my kitten. Got all the way home only to notice that it was expired over a month ago. Brought it back today and no one cared!!!! I asked if they code checked their food and was told "I don't know" by the cashier. I asked to speak to a manager and asked him the same question. His response "sometimes we miss one". I said what if it made my pet sick? She's a baby. His response "then we would have taken care if it" ummmmm....what!?
