We are having a great experience with Balancing Paws! Yoni has been out several times. We have two puppies that we are training. One puppy is four months old, and the other puppy is five months old. They are both turning out to be really great dogs! All of Yoni's training makes sense and it's easy enough for me and the kids to run with what he teaches us. We are so excited to have well trained dogs that can go places with us without being a nuisance! They will have so much fun ! we plan to continue all of our in-home training sessions and then we may consider having them board and train with Yoni depending on what our ultimate goals are. If you want a well-trained dog please reach out to BP! read more

Awesome job with my aggressive dog! Thank you! Excellent training skills taught, and they worked with both my dogs! read more

Yoni and team have been lifesavers ! I honestly can't remember where we heard of them, probably a Facebook group, but so glad we found them. We have a high energy, 3 1/2 year old, mixed breed dog and we had experienced some resource guarding with toys and aggressive episodes. While the 1:1 training lessons proved beneficial as we were armed with tools and techniques, it was clear we needed to up the ante and registered our pup for 2 week board and train sessions. It was extremely difficult to be without the dog and even more so come for weekly visits and have to leave him, but Yoni walked us through the process every step of the way. This training is not what I initially expected and quite honestly took some time to get my buy in, but it is certainly working ! Instead of focusing on the small % of aggressive episodes he starts with the basics, properly communicating with your dog, setting boundaries and setting up for success. To be clear , the work is NOT done after intensive training camp, instead the journey is just beginning. My husband and I are armed with lessons and trainings to continue at home- this is just as much about the owner (if not more) than the dog. Unlimited group classes are a huge perk after training camp is completed. We continue to learn and grow and bond with our dog. We are thrilled to be able to feel safe and comfortable with our pet in our home and have a huge sense of relief when guests come over now that we know how to set up to be successful. I'm confident Yoni, Jenna and John will be able to support you and your pup through any challenges. We are so thankful for their guidance and support ! read more

Yoni is the best trainer in town! He is not only great with training dogs but also the owners. I have used him with two different dogs and has worked magic with both! Highly recommend him! read more

Balancing Paws Dog Training - Pet Training Near Me

Yoni, Jenna, and John are amazing. We started with private and group training for our 4-month-old puppy. After a good foundation, we sent him to boarding/training for 3 weeks and WOW the progress has been AMAZING. He is calmer and can be with my two young boys without running around stealing socks, toys, and snacks. He loves his 'place mat' which we can move around the house. Our walks improve every day. The weekend group training sessions (included which is a HUGE bonus) help both me and Kody stay on track while making progress as he continues to grow as a puppy. Thank you so much for caring for our dog while we traveled and setting us up for success! Time to keep it up with group sessions and access to the entire online training! Thanks so much, Yoni and team!!!! read more

This is an updated review - We love our experience with Balancing Paws! We began the day we brought Pearl home with a series of zoom sessions to provide us with the fundamentals for surviving the puppy stage. As she got older we realized that it's time experience their amazing facility! What a place! Yoni and his crew were amazing. Pearl absolutely loved being there, our family received the learning that WE needed, and after two weeks we brought home a dog that is the envy of our very dog friendly neighborhood. She no longer runs across the street to see her puppy friends, can play appropriately, knows her limits, and she can even enjoy some time in the grass alongside her friends. We highly recommend Balancing Paws for your dog training and/or boarding needs! read more

I highly recommend Balancing Paws Dog Training! We drive 30 minutes one way just to go but it is worth it. We have a 6 year old Australian Shepard that we couldn't take on walks without him pulling and howling the whole time and who also has some dog aggression issues. We didn't start with Yoni till our dog was 5 and we have still seen huge improvements! Since seeing Yoni we can successfully walk him without a gentle leader and he listens and isn't so anxious. He doesn't pull or howl the whole time. We are still going to group classes to help him be around other dogs and we have seen a huge improvement. I highly recommend the group classes. Yoni is constantly working to improve his business, his dog training facility and he truly cares about his clients and the relationship they have with their dogs. read more

Yoni is amazing!! Each visit he is providing immediate solutions to what can be overwhelming behavior issues. Our chug Roscoe is calm, well mannered and starting to let us cut his nails without biting all thanks to Yoni and Balancing Paws Dog Training!!! Our family is so grateful we found him! read more

Yoni is a knowledgeable, capable and patient dog trainer; he works with people to and their issues with the dog. He got my 13 year old Dachshund to learn "dog manners" when running into another dog( large or small) on a walk in just a few sessions 1:1. We are going to try the group lessons now. I suspect they will go well also. read more

Jonathan is amazing! You will learn a loo just by following his Instagram. Then I finally booked him for a private training session and I was blown away about how much I learned and how much my skills improved handling my two dogs. The positive comments I get from other dogs owners on me and my dogs is worth it. I highly recommend him and totally worth the price! read more

Yoni and John at Balancing Paws are amazing. After just the first session, learning some crucial information helped a ton. We continue to take our Pit Bull to Balancing Paws for day sessions because they take some extra time to work on things she doesn't do so well with. We always see improvements after we pick her up and she has let some of her extra puppy energy out while we were at work which is excellent. Yoni and John are geniuses. They really care about the customers and their pets. They have a great thing going for them at Balancing Paws and I would without a doubt recommend them to anyone- I have already told pretty much everyone I know. Great job guys! read more

We had a golden doodle puppy just under one year old who just was out of control most of the time. We were at our wits end and considering giving the dog up because we could not handle it and dreaded dealing with the bad behavior. We heard about Yoni from a friend and decided to give him a try. Before the end of the first lesson I was in tears because for the first time we saw hope. Each lesson he added something different... And we continue to be able to manage the dog's behavior better and better. The dog isn't perfect but now we have complete confidence in our ability to handle just about any situation. Yoni is magic! read more

Yoni's initial in home session was amazing. We learned a lot and are already using his Tips and seeing results.

Our 6 month old Golden Doodle spent two weeks in Camp with Yoni. She has come home clearly a more attuned, obedient and very loving puppy, for which we are very grateful! She hadn't previously slept in a crate. On the third night home, she was walking into the crate on her own with no complaints, and for the whole night. Walking her this morning she received compliments on two occasions from strangers walking their dogs, as she sat still, and let the other dogs do all the pulling, barking, etc. Both owners said, "Wow, your dog is so well behaved!" Later we ran into a neighbors who know the "before" and now "after" Ginger. They both said the improvement in behavior is clearly noticeable. The woman said, "You say S-I-T and she does it!" As she spelled it out, Ginger sat. To which she added, "Oh my God, she can spell now too!" read more

Yoni has truly helped us understand our dogs and their behavior and taught us how to handle and get their aggression under control! Our two dogs have done his day camp, private sessions in our home, and group classes at his facility. He is always available to answer questions, and provide positive feedback to us. Other trainers don't compare to the compassion and knowledge that Yoni and his team have. We recommend Balancing Paws to all dog owners everywhere, no matter what you need help with. Truly amazing! read more

I sent my dog to Yoni for a 2 week board and train at a cost of $1400. He falsely advertises his location facility and he has no staff. He never obedience trained my dog and didn't address major issues of resource guarding. My dog didn't even know how to sit after attending training. He walks on a leash but not well. Not sure what training he did with him other than walking him. Sure not $1400 worth. Brought him back a day early too and I had to complain to get $100 back. Don't waste your money on this guy he doesn't know what he is doing. Claims to be a balanced trainer but he's not. I now have to send my dog to another trainer for 2 weeks to do what Yoni promised to do but didn't deliver. read more

When our son was born, our french bulldog, who had previously been our "baby", had a tough time adjusting. He was having some behavioral issues, so we went to see Yoni on a recommendation from a friend. In one session, our dog was like a new dog. I couldn't take him on walks before because he would bark and growl at other dogs and people and pull like crazy. Now I can walk him and the baby in the stroller and he just ignores other dogs. He was also going out in the backyard and barking all night - not anymore! Our dog seems so much happier and more calm, and we are too! I would definitely recommend Balancing Paws to anyone looking for help with their dogs. read more

Yoni helped my family and I take leadership and gain confidence with our pit bull. He taught us how to help him interact with people, horses, and our indoor cats. Yoni and Balancing Paws have worked wonders with my highly anxious Rottie. He used to growl and lunge at everyone (dogs and people) when we walked, and my friends were afraid to come over to the house to visit. Now he is calm, and loves to walk on the leash, and knows how to treat guests in the house and is a wonderful dog and companion. read more

After rescuing our scared, scarred pit bull from the pound, we looked into a few trainers without finding a great fit. Within 24 hours of our first visit to Balancing Paws, they had our dog socializing and playing with absolutely no signs of dog aggression. I was amazed. If you have a dog that needs to learn how to "be a dog" or behave, Yoni, Jon and team will make it happen. We also recently traveled for 21 days and felt completely comfortable leaving our dog with Balancing Paws for boarding. Not only did we come back to a well adjusted, happy camper, we were comforted seeing daily pics of her fun posted on Facebook while we were gone. read more

We have two labradoodles 3 year and 6 months. We have tried a couple of other trainers and Yoni is by far the best! His techniques work every time. Yoni is the best! We came to him with a very aggressive dog that we thought couldn't be re-trained. We are now able to get my dog in group classes with other dogs and off leash in an enclosed play area with other dogs. We were so impressed and would recommend Balancing Paws to anyone with a dog they think can't be fixed. We're are so happy with the progress we've seen! read more

Yoni is the best Dog Trainer. I live 45 minutes away and happily drive to get training for me and my dog. He is so helpful and it makes so much sense the way he teaches me to train my pup. His philosophy and training are easy to understand and really work. My puppy is 10 months old and is very well behaved thanks to Yoni and what he has taught me to do to train my pup. read more

Yoni is a life saver and is excellent at training! We have three dogs but our one year old Pitbull mix and our six year old pitbull mix (both females) have all of a sudden been fighting. The fighting had intensified and had me thinking that one day I would find one of them very injured when I came home from work. Thankfully Yoni worked with them and even though they are separated in their own crate, they take turns being let out and with following Yoni's direction, I am in control and life has been extremely better. The dogs are listening and we are ready for the next step! Thank you Yoni! You are truly excellent!!! If you are looking for an excellent trainer and are willing to do the work, you really need to contact Yoni! read more

Yoni is an amazing trainer. We flew him out to NYC to help us train our pit bull after he showed signs of aggression towards strangers in our apartment. Yoni came out for an entire week, worked with us and our dog, and gave us the tools we need moving forward. The different we saw in that week was amazing. I wish I lived closer to Yoni so we could work with him more regularly - if you live in the Phoenix area you should definitely be working with Yoni!! read more

Yoni's training with our 8 month old puppy was amazing. We were worried about introducing her to an older pitbull who stays with us from time to time. That intro worked extremely well and his training of me and her has helped in some other behaviorial areas. Now I want her to take the full course that Balancing Paws offers. She is a sweet and deserves really good training. Yoni's teaching makes so much sense. I highly recommend him. read more

Yoni has really helped to educate me about my dogs. I've grown up with dogs my whole life, but I had small dogs who we just assumed were high strung due to their breed. Now, as an adult with large dogs of varying degrees of dominance, there is a need for some order so that everyone in the pack stays happy and safe. Yoni has shown me how to use certain tools, correctly, which have already made a big difference. My pack is much happier already and my friends will be too. Thank you, Balancing Paws! read more

I just can't thank you enough Yoni! I just rescued a sweet dog from shelter, he was there for over three months. He's strong puppy and wasn't used to his leash at all so it was hard for me to walk with my 9 yr old rottie. Yoni trained us so well for the very first time this morning and I've been working on his leash and door manner all day and I walked with them together no pulling at all this evening. Yoni IS the one I was looking for and I'm truly blessed to have him over at our house. It was very educational one hour class. Thank you again and I recommend him to everyone!!! Yoni and all the gang at Balancing Paws are awesome, I cannot say enough good things. I send my puppy Ruby there for socializing and training, she loves it and so do I. Yoni is patient with both Ruby and I, he explains everything so that you have a better understanding of your dog and why they behave the way they do. I wholeheartedly recommend Balancing Paws for whatever issues you are having with your dog. And even if you don't have any issues, I recommend you take your dog for a doggy day camp. I swear Ruby knows in the morning if she is going to day camp or not and she is soooo excited when she goes. Thanks Yoni for taking such good care of my girl. read more

Highly recommended!! Best training advice I've gotten..I recently moved into a new apartment and my yellow Lab who has really bad separation anxiety has a habit of barking loudly and non-stop when I leave..This brings a problem moving into a new apt...Did everything I was taught to a 'T' and each day she showed an amazing improvement. By the 5th day I felt confident leaving her alone while i'm at work. Now, 3 weeks later she has a 180 degree turn improvement. We have a dog with major reactivity issues and quite by accident found out about Balancing Paws online. We had an initial session at our home with Yoni and I had renewed hope that finally I found someone that understood my concerns and could actually help make a difference. I've had dogs my entire life but never experienced anything like this. Yoni is an amazing trainer, it's not just about the dog, it's also about teaching the owners. I now have more confidence and have learned ways to work through this. We are making progress and I know consistency is key, we apply what we learn at class on a daily basis. I am so thankful to have found Yoni! read more

After one session, our extremely energetic Vizsla changed, as did our understanding of training. Yoni, explained, demonstrated, and gave us the tools to continue this positive behavior. Walking instead of pulling and jumping at any distraction, has us wishing we had contacted Balancing Paws months earlier. We are excited to enjoy more quality time, by taking leisurely walks as we continue training under Yoni's direction. read more

This trainer advocates the use of prong collars and does not even evaluate your dog before whipping one out of his pocket and putting it on the dog. My dog is fear aggressive. When he screams, he is in fear or pain. He only screams when he is in pain or is in close proximity to another dog that is also anxious, fearful or aggressive. Using the prong collar for the two weeks that I did, set my dog back in his training by months. Putting the prong collar high near the dog's ears near this nerve rich, muscle poor, area of great sensitivity inflicts the maximum amount of pain which was how I was taught to use the prong. If you look at a dog wearing a prong, how do they look? I saw dogs who were depressed, tail slightly tucked, head lower and not interested in engaging with their handler. Some would say this is a submissive dog. I say it is a sad dog. How can this promote trust and respect between a dog and his handler? I think most people still use the prong because it is a fast and easy way to bring the dog to submission. But is that what training is? I see training as a mutual respect and trust that using a prong collar will not give. You can not get that respect and trust in a couple of classes with a prong forcing submission. Because my dog is fear reactive with unfamiliar dogs, putting him into a setting with a group of anxious, reactive unfamiliar dogs was a recipe for disaster. Calm confident dogs don't generally need training classes so that is not the type of dog you will find in a group class but is exactly the type of dog that mine needs to help him desensitize his fear. A setting like this only teaches him to be more afraid, especially if a prong is involved, and will ruin whatever trust the dog had in you to begin with. Training can not be a fast fix. It takes time and patience. It is unfortunate many are not willing to take that time and/or expense of desensitizing and counter conditioning. Instead just pay a couple hundred dollars, throw the fearful dog into a situation that he fears the most, stab him with a prong and call him fixed. If you love and care about your dog, go somewhere else. Most likely the pain punishment "training" method is not needed and your dog will respond much better to positive reinforcement read more
