It's been a while so I don't even remember what exactly I had done, but it was something in order to pass smog and wasn't cheap, but their price was MUCH lower than Nona's, and they hooked me up with some voucher that made it even cheaper. I had something else done there too. They also referred me to a great place for a new transmission (look, it wasn't a great year or two for my car, lol) and cheap tires (Golden State Tires). AC wasn't blowing air. $400 later said it was fixed. 2 days later, not fixed. $300 later, not fixed again. 3rd trip asked for some refund since we had spent over $700 for nothing. No Refund. Took to new repair shop. Fixed in one afternoon. $300. We have recommended Peterson's to a lot of people over the years. No More. Now, we learn they have new ownership. Very Obvious. read more

Very honest, cost effective and exceptional mechanics !! I highly recommend the new owner of Peterson's Garage. I've heard he was an exceptional mechanic and he proved that to me by fixing my Silverado. I came back with my Silverado because the new owner evaluated my Seabring however I was amazed when he didn't charge me anything when he said he couldn't fix it. Honorable honestly! The local dealership said they couldn't fix it and for nine minutes of evaluating they charged me about $250.. for nothing. Not honest!! I went through the Valley Can Program and chose to take my car to them I had to go back to pick up the smog papers when I got there the owner named Chuck told me he couldn't get them for me to come back in 30 min mind you I had spoke to them before going I told him I couldn't come back because I'm frm Merced he then got mad and started saying rude comments he told me I love it when people don't pay out of there pocket and demand paperwork I would not recommend people that go through VALLY CAN PROGRAM TO GO TO THEM read more

Don't go to these con artist theifs. Took my truck for smog. They said it failed and needed 800$ in repair to pass. And only take 2 days. I agreed. Well after 2 weeksi go there raising hell they say. We made it worse we are sorry. They admitted it actually passed in beginning but wanted do repairs. After repairs it wouldn't pass at all. I actually found the papers in the cab showing it initially passed then failing horrible. read more

I ​ was referred to this garage by the Clean Air program . Had I known it was going to turn out like it did I would have never ever used them. They waited until the day my car was supposed to be ready to inform me that they ordered the wrong part . By this time my car had already been there a week by the time he got the new part and put it on it was another week . By the time it was smogged another week had passed but mind you the check engine light had come on by this time so therefore it spent another week in this shop and more parts needed and more money out of pocket. I'm not sure as who the gentleman is that runs the front desk there but he has to be one of the rudest people I have run into in a long long time . Lesson learn I would have come out a lot cheaper with better service if I had just stayed away from this garage and the Clean Air program and use my mechanic . read more

I have always been very happy with the service at Petersons garage. I recently had to have my truck towed in for a broken driveline and they were friendly and ready to help me when it got there. I took a Buick Rondevous to Petersen's Garage today for an estimate on front suspension repair as the front tires were wearing very unevenly. The owner Ron Petersen asked what I needed and I told him I needed the front suspension inspection and price quote. He again asked me what was wrong with it and I told him I don't know and that I needed an inspection to find out. He responded that he doesn't do that work and walked away before I could ask any more questions. He acted in a rude manner. I will not recommend his shop or go back there. Went to this guy on a recommendation, big mistake I have classic car that I wanted to have some items improved. First off the owne, walked up and in a rude tone "what do you want done?" I started going over a list of things I would like to have done, with some questions about the brake system. I was told, in a rude manner, that wasn't what I needed. Ok no problem. I was told about the work he had just done another classic but did not reach a solution for my problem. At this point I was asked to start the engine while he and other mechanics listened. He had me turn the car off, at which time he turned his back on me and walked to the office and said to another customer, about your vehicle. As they were walking into the office he turned to me and said "we're busy and wouldn't be able to get to it for month. If he did not want to work on my car, no problem, but I don't appreciate being treated in such a rude manner.
