Needed a air conditioning unit replaced in my truck. Sam is honest in heart and business. One day service was not expected but he did it. I can't recommend this shop enough. He has serviced my truck for many years now. Thank you again Sam and crew! read more

I have had my car for over three years. Until I went to Auto 1 Shop I had no idea that it goes through oil much faster than other cars. I need to replace it more often or the engine sounds TERRIBLE. I never miss an oil change and I am so disappointed that NONE of the mechanics that I took my car bothered to bring that to my attention. I was so afraid that my car needed expensive work done. When Sam told me it was just a problem with the oil I was thanking God! He has a customer for life and I will be telling everyone. read more

I was working in an orchard all day, and started to drive home (120 miles away) in my Audi Q7. At 4:30PM on the friday of Labor Day weekend, all of a sudden my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree: many indicator lights flashed on, and the truck could not maintain highway speed (later revealed that cylinder #2 was not firing). We started to drive around Turlock, looking for somebody to help. (The Les Schwab tire center helped; inflating the tires did not change the warning lights.) We called my Audi dealer in Burlingame, 120 miles away; they recommended a used Audi dealer in Modesto, 20 miles away. Their phone said "disconnected". We figured the truck would not make it, even the 20 miles. We called AAA, figuring this would be a 120mile tow job. I arranged with my normal Audi mechanic, to drop the truck late friday night; they'd get to it on Tuesday. As we limped towards Modesto on surface streets, we came across Auto 1 Shop in Turlock. 3 service bays, doors open late friday afternoon, we limped in. Sam Yadegar, service manager, was working there alone. He pulled out a diagnostic tool, to read the engine faults. I was suprised that he could read a Euro car. It identified 22 faults. Sam commented, "I don't like the Euro cars. Sometimes, when one thing goes wrong, it triggers a cascade of engine faults". He suggested that he "clear" all of the faults. If something is truly broke, that fault will return. He suggested we deal with whatever problems showed up after clearing them all. Lo and behold, all the warning lights stayed off. We cycled the car through several on/off cycles, ran up the RPMs, and all of the warning lights stayed off. I asked Sam, "how much do I owe you?" He said "nothing, I didn't repair anything". I gave him some cash anyway. He saved me thousands of dollars on a late friday afternoon of a 3 day weekend. Thank you Sam! read more

Sam is an absolute honest guy and the shop does great work. We've used the shop like 4 times and always was prompt repairs and fair pricing.

Brought in my 91 mustang gt thought they could do some simple back brakes but didn't grease the slide pins that's a pretty common practice when doing brakes as far as I know I would've done them my self but my husband took it in trying to be nice and get them done for me for $400 i jus feel like they could've atleast greased the pins or let us know if there was an issue with one being stuck or not sliding properly read more

Sam was knowledgeable, reliable, efficient. I am extremely happy and will be doing business with this shop as needed. Thanks Sam and crew! Chuck Clayton read more

This shop is a joke. They have a big ASE certified sign out front but no one in that shop is ASE certified. When questioned why do you advertise that your ASE certified the owner Sam said it came with the building. In that case you need to remove that sign. Your false advertising. read more

Quick to get me in, quick to get me an answer. They were unable to help me with my issue, but Sammy, the owner, explained the situation and recommended another shop in a matter of hours. read more

The days of trusting your mechanic are gone. YouTube shows is how to do any and everything. This is a throwback shop. We had an air conditioner malfunction . He could have gouged us for hundreds; he did not. Told us the truth and wouldn't even accept the diagnostic charge payment from us. That honesty makes him my 1st stop for all repairs now. read more

The absolute best shop around. Sam is such a great guy. He is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. This is the only shop I will go to.

have had great experiences with Sam and his crew in the past, have recommended many, many people needing work done. Very competitive prices, fast turn around. But my last service saw a sky rocket in his prices and service. Close to $600 to replace alternator. Being very familiar with automotive, sometimes choose to support local businesses over doing my self. This job was completely doable myself but since Sam had done so well in the past I trusted him and his shop. I didn't ask for an estimate, I should have. So when the bill came was pretty shocked. Unfortunately may be looking for another garage after this. This one stung and overshadows the last job which was about the same price to replace timing belt a much more labor intensive job than this one. read more

I'm from Santa Rosa, Ca and while visiting in Turlock my van broke down. On top of that the Internet was down and it was 95 degrees! Sam was amazing, sourcing the part he needed to fix my van, putting other business aside, and we were in and out of there in less than 4 hours. This shop was a life saver and San ROCKS! He was courteous, friendly and made jokes to keep the stress level down. I don't know what we would have done if we hadn't found him. Thanks Sam! Sue Deane read more

I drive a really high mileage car and a lot of the parts have worn out and needed to be replaced over the last couple of years. Sam has taken great care of me and always gives a fair price. It's increasingly difficult to find a trustworthy mechanic nowadays and I'm so grateful to have this shop nearby. 100% recommend read more

Auto 1 Shop - Great personable shop! - Auto Repair Near Me - Turlock, California

Auto 1 Shop is the only place I'll take my car. Oil changes, AC Repair, tune-ups...you name it, these guys are going to take care of it. As a woman, we often fear going to mechanic shops because these places usually see more money but Sam? Sam sees a person in need of help and he doesn't rip you off. I usually spend less than $30 on an oil change and I'm in and out of there in less than a half hour! And he's SO friendly! My husband recently got an oil change and they charged him $75!! I told him next time to go see my guy and that he'd take care of him. He did, and guess what? Sam saved him $30! This place just comes with the highest of recommendations from me and always will. read more

The best place in Turlock with integrity to get your car serviced or repaired. I met Sam the owner about 2 years ago and have been a loyal customer since. My Ford pick up was having "dead battery" issues and I decided to stop by. Sam looked at my and diagnosed it in 15 minutes. He said there was just a dirty and loose battery cable which he cleaned and fixed for free! He rechecked the diagnosis and confirmed the problem was solved. No charge???? That is a first for me. I insisted he let me pay him something and he declined to take my money. Integrity is rare these days. Thank you Sam! I have 3 vehicles and Sam takes care of them all. read more

Sam the owner operator along with his employees work on my wives car. My wive had taken her car to a different dealer and she was told she would need to spend about $2,500 to repair her car. I told her we needed a second opinion. We were referred by a friend to Auto 1 Shop on Golden State Blvd. I took the car in and had Sam look over the car and he found a faculty batter cable and that the total job was less than $100. The honesty and Integrity displayed by Sam and his crew was amazing. I highly recommend Sam and his crew to everyone. In fact I will be taking my car in for a tune up in the next week or so. read more

I used the oil change coupon I found in a local advertising booklet, and I found the place I will be taking all our cars from now on. During his inspection of my car, the mechanic (Sam) pointed out a potentially dangerous situation - There was some type of fluid leaking onto our rear tires. He asked me if I wanted him to take a look at it and I said OK (thinking uh-oh, here's where the bill gets jacked up). After his examination, he asked if we had had any work done on the rear end, which we had just a few months ago. He said I needed to take it back to the mechanic who had done the work because the axle seals were leaking. I know nothing about cars, so Sam could have charged me for the repair and I would have never known. But by taking it back to the original mechanic to have it corrected, it was under warranty so my bill was zero. Sam didn't even charge me for the time it took to determine the cause of the leak. You hear so many stories about mechanics taking advantage of customers. Its very nice to be able to tell a story about one of the honest ones! read more
