I can't thank Sammy enough for the incredible help he gave me when my car suddenly broke down on my…read moredrive home from the Bay Area. After stopping at a stop sign, my car wouldn't accelerate past 20 mph, and I ended up having it towed to his shop. Sammy quickly figured out the issue, my car had completely run out of oil, which ended up damaging the VVT solenoid and knock sensor. What really stood out was how clearly he explained everything to me. I had no idea my car was burning oil faster than normal, especially since I still had over 3,000 miles left before my next scheduled oil change. He took the time to educate me, recommending I come in every 1,500 miles to keep an eye on it going forward. Most importantly, thanks to Sammy's expertise and quick action, my engine didn't seize, which could have been a much bigger (and more expensive) problem. Honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, I highly recommend Sammy to anyone who wants a mechanic they can trust!

We moved to Turlock 10 years ago and did quite a bit of research to find a good auto shop. We have two older vehicles that require quite a bit of maintenance. E&M is a very honest and trustworthy shop. They don't try to "oversell" and they deliver on their quotes and work. Their prices are fair and better than most. Both John and Roe have impressed us since day 1 and we will continue to bring both our vehicles here. We highly recommend them for any car maintenance you may need!

My updated review is well past due and they have helped me with quite a few big jobs since my last post. My wife has had fuel tank issues for quite a while and her own mechanic kept saying it was nothing, finally told her that I'm taking it to E&M, they correctly diagnosed and succesfully replaced it with no issues in good time and fair price. They have done other major jobs on my current truck (oil leak/gasket replacement) with no complications. They are honest, fair, communicate great, and no bullshit. I'm grateful and happy to have a reliable mechanic like them. I bring my wife's vehicles here for oil changes and other services as well as my own. I bring my moms and nieces vehicles here when needed as well.

No up selling, no nonsense, very honest. I would have normally taken my vehicle to my dealership, but I've lost all faith in the Service Dept., and the Tech in mis diagnosing causing me several hundred more dollars, as well as taking it elsewhere to find out it was just a bad battery and not the starter which the dealer missed and charged me for a new starter. END UPDATE For years I have been able to rely on and trust the staff of Gateway Automotive. Today when my car died outside of the library I called the shop and Ryan assured me that if I towed it over they would take care of it so I did. I was immediately greeted by the staff and Ryan went straight to work. The problem was diagnosed and repaired in less than 2 hours. He was direct, accurate and incredibly helpful. I am grateful for his hard work. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I ALWAYS recommend this shop for the fact that they've never been wrong and have always been honest. I was driving to the store in the afternoon when I heard meowing coming from inside my car. I went to Lander Auto and Hilda immediately put my car on the lift and began the rescue mission. 45 mins later, she was able to retrieve the kitten unharmed. You could tell she had done this before and cared about the animal getting out safely. Now here is the best part. They refused to take any payment. Hilda said they were just happy to rescue an animals life and it was the right thing to do. We took pictures and she had me out of there with my new kitten in no time. Update: January 3rd, 2024; Happy New Year!…read more It was an even brighter Happy New Year because Roger the owner diagnosed the why; my vehicle of 2005 was sputtering and choking out each time I tried to start it. It finally died so I phoned my auto insurance at Nationwide Insurance, and arranged for a tow from my home to his shop. Diagnoses: Filthy gas tank and a ill functioning fuel pump. Out the door I paid less than 50% of what I would have been charged by Roger diagnosising the issue at no cost. Old School. Love that! Vehicle is running great once again and since it's my only mode of transportatoin that I own; I'm so grateful for Roger & his Wife who runs the desk. Thank you both for true customer service and follow through at affordable pricing. What a value as I live on a very meager income due to being disabled.
