What a cute little bakery and cafe! It was really small inside so there was a long line out the door. We only got pastries to go here, but the almond croissant was delicious and the peach cobbler was great as well. The staff were very hardworking and busy but really friendly and didn't rush anyone if they had questions. The food on the menu looked delicious. There were a few tables that were inside and they also had a small cute patio on the outside. Definitely recommend coming here and checking it out.

Persephone Bakery is a special space in the center of Jackson. The food offerings are quite good. I had the egg sandwich on a croissant. The croissant tasted freshly baked. The almond croissant was also flavorful. The plus is there is a nice outside ambience patio area to eat with a fire pit. The downside is this cafe becomes overwhelmingly crowded.

Quiche

Persephone absolutely lives up to the hype. The bakery is beautiful inside and has such a charming European feel. It's one of those places where you immediately want to order one of everything. We tried a few pastries along with the quiche, and everything was excellent. The Kouign Amann was buttery, flaky, and beautifully made, while the quiche was decadent without feeling heavy. The flavors in the quiche were amazing and the crust was perfect. Definitely one of the best quiches I've had. The breakfast sandwich was also an amazing savory item on the menu, it was served on their croissants so you get the best of both worlds. It does get busy, especially in the mornings, but it's worth the wait. The line moves fast and there's plenty of seating on their lovely patio. I'd consider this one of the must-stop bakeries in Jackson Hole.

This bakery is so cute and right in the middle of Jackson hole. There was a line out the door when we arrived but it moved fast. I ordered an almond croissant and it looked delicious but it was just okay in my opinion. It was a little dense for a croissant. They make everything fresh daily so they won't warm any of the pastries for you which is a little disappointing because I think some baked goods are better served warm. Overall it's a cute and aesthetic place to go to if you're in the area.

Such a cute bakery! Stopped by after sunrise for coffee and breakfast. Great atmosphere and food was delicious.

I'd read about Persephone before our trip and marked it as a "must try" while in Jackson Hole. We walked over early (8am) on a Thursday morning to grab a cup of coffee and peruse the pastries. We were very surprised to find the line already went out the door! The line moved fast and boy you better be ready to order when you step up, because it is a fast moving, no messing around system. In addition there were at least three employees taking orders at the counter so the pastry case is extremely crowded and it's difficult to view what the options are. The employees weren't un-kind, but they there were no niceties like "good morning". They wanted to move you through the line quickly, so we didn't feel we could really peruse the pastries and so we skipped it and we just ordered a hot coffee and a large hot almond milk latte. People were already more than crowded inside waiting for their items so we stepped onto the patio. It was a chilly morning so the small fire pit was welcomed. For the giant crowd waiting we received our drinks within a reasonable time frame. They call names from inside behind the counter, so if you are not within 4 feet of the counter you will not hear them. We sat on the patio near the garden and the view was beautiful. My "large" latte was the same small size of my husband's drip coffee and both appeared to be around 12-14oz. Disappointing. The drip coffee was okay, but not worth returning for and my almond milk latte was also just okay. We maybe would have given Persephone another try, but in the end we chose to try the many other coffee/bakery shops in downtown. I'm not saying 'stay away', I'm just saying it's not as amazing as the hype. Other tips -look at the menu BEFORE you get in line, especially if it is buys -if you happen to snag an indoor seat realize there will be little to no privacy as the line will form right next to your table. -the birds outside are cute, friendly and will absolutely eat your food if you leave it unattended for even a moment - we saw a pack of small birds try to fly off with an entire egg croissant sandwich in the 1min the owner stepped inside for napkins. *don't worry, we stopped them

Giving 2 starts for the Garden Area in the back, super cute! And full of flowers & small birds! Some ppl preferred Persephone over Cowboy Coffee.. so we decided to try it first. Was excited for the pastries, their window casing was full of amazing looking stuff! (I later learned... that if the casing is full -- this might mean two things? It's either not very good. Or it's not very fresh.) We got the cheddar scallion biscuit & blueberry muffin. They were both DRY and taste-less.. it's hard to mess up a Blueberry muffin! The muffin was not sweet, even with the crumble on top.. didn't taste like blueberries, it was just plain. The biscuit was hard as a rock, and was also dry.. you could barely taste the cheese. We also got their hazelnut lattes, the coffee was okay.. nothing special. I think a regular black coffee would have been better. Overall disappointing..

This is a really great place for lunch. We ordered the ricotta omelette and grilled cheese with tomato soup. Both were fantastic. Easy to order and sit down outside. The pumpkin latte was one of the best I've had. Very aesthetic bakery.

What a beautiful quaint place! Delectable baked goods. We tried the huge salted chocolate chip cookie. Yummy! Service was good. You order and they bring to table by the number. I had the fresh herbed fries and my friend had beet salad. We both had the flavored ice tea. Everything was delicious.

My group pulled up around 8 am on a Friday in mid July, and there was a line out the door. I knew this place was popular, so I wasn't too surprised. The line moved pretty quickly and gave us an opportunity to check out the menu. I was happy to see they had a fridge of beverages including Diet Coke. My husband got the egg sandwich and really likes it. I got a chocolate croissant and it was okay. I had asked for it warmed up and the girl said they make them fresh. This being her response had me under the impression that it would be fresh and warm, but the croissant wasn't warm at all and the chocolate had already harden. It was still good just not the experience I was looking for. Overall, I would go back for sure and probably order something from the kitchen next time. The outdoor seating area is totally gorgeous with lots of tables.

Blueberry muffin with over cooked basecthat was dry.

Persephone Bakery is a cute stand alone building just off the main square in Jackson, WY. We stopped in this small quaint space with many happy patrons enjoying their morning sweets. Space was limited so we elected to grab and go. A glass case displaying the baked good let you know that the selection of treats is vast. A blueberry and carrot cake type muffins were ordered from a middle age lady with a snippet attitude. Customer service is not one of her strong suits. The large muffins were packed with flavor and not over-sweet. The base of BOTH muffins were over-cooked, dry and stuck to the bottom wrapper. Persephone Bakery makes a large variety of good tasting baked goods. The dry and overcooked base sometimes happens. It was just a lack of attention at a vital step during the process. I hope you give Persephone Bakery a chance as they do know know about tasty treats. Perhaps the lady at the counter can find a job that better suits her snotty attitude.

Cheddar & Chive Scone

This place showed up on every list of places to try for breakfast in Jackson, so we decided to give it a shot. It's a cute little building with very photogenic food, but it feels like its success is due to its Instagram-appeal as opposed to the quality of the food. I had a cheddar and chive biscuit that was pretty dry and did not have much flavor. My daughter's egg was undercooked and the cinnamon bun my daughter had looked appealing but the taste did not measure up.

Do they have cakes?

https://persephonebakery.com/pages/pastry-menu

What kind of gluten free options?

They have a gf double chocolate cookie that is delicious. They have a rotating menu but I can always find a couple breakfast items that are gluten free and a few salads.

I've been calling here for two days to see if we can get outdoor seating but no one picks up. Any suggestions?

They do have a small deck that has outside seating.

I have been past this establishment many times have never been until today. When I walked in the store was clean and bright but nobody greeted me. I was extremely surprised that a single bread roll costs $4 like I understand this is Jackson but that is just robbery. My pastry was also dry and there was nothing special about it. Even at the cash register nobody asked me how my day was going they just said "is that it? We were in Jackson for 4 days and we found ourselves in The Bread Basket 3 times. It's a Mexican bakery and we tried just about everything in the cases. We bought a bunch to take home with us and share too. Everything was so delicious. My favorite was the flakey pastry with spiced apple filling. They don't skimp on the filling! It was perfect. We also brought home a bunch of tamales, oh my gosh, they are sooo good try the Salsa Verde con Pollo. Spicy deliciousness. Because everything in the national parks were closed, if you're going to be in the park all day you must bring your own food. We ordered their sandwiches for one of our Yellowstone trips. (BTW Yellowstone was virtually empty of people, see my review for Yellowstone for more info). The sandwiches were gourmet wonderful. I ordered the turkey with pesto, brie and dried cranberries on a fresh ciabatta type bread. Perfect. The staff is friendly, the shop is clean.

For example, I asked for a warm croissant. There was no mistake in my order. I said it twice. The young lady at the cashier stuck it in a bag and slapped it on the counter. I then asked for it warm. She said they have no way to warm it but said it was bakery fresh. It's 9:30am... what does that mean to me...or any customer? If I ask for it to be warm, that is how I want it... if you can't do that just tell me before charging me. The manager came over and asked that the issue was. I explained it to him. He then explained that they don't warm things up. I said, "no issue. I just don't feel I should pay for it if it is not the way I requested. He agreed. Then one of his employees stepped in and said, "just keep it. I said I don't want it. She responded with, loudly as almost to embarrass me, "we are going to throw it away because we can't resell it!" This is not a place I would recommend if you like customer service, positive attitudes in the morning and/or a place where you can order food how you like it. This is a place that sells expensive overpriced bakery items and feels it is ok for its staff to be rude and indignant to its customers and does not cater to their customers needs. They get away with it because they get a lot of transient customers who simply don't care about the experience. That's ok for some, but for me, not for me.

Make sure to clarify when ordering this as we were confused and never heard of it before. The salmon cream didn't have a strong flavor, maybe the cream cheese was pretty overpowering. I did prefer the sandwiches over the cream cheese bagels. There is a thick layer of meat but not much sauce on either sandwich so I would recommend asking for either extra or on the side. The bagels itself were a little on the thicker side, they were toasted but not much as seen from the pictures. They were pretty doughy, not a personal favorite.
