I ordered the mini-monkey bread (pictured), essentially a biscuit dappled with cinnamon sugar streusel. I didn't love it; I thought it tasted too salty. Still, I finished it so it couldn't have been that bad! I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla (eggs, chiles, cheese, onions, drizzled with avocado cream and served with red salsa), which was very good. Harumy checked on me, and brought the check promptly. You pay at the counter, not directly to the server. I would have given 4.5 stars but Yelp doesn't enable this, so I rounded up to 5 stars. I'm usually a really good tipper. And I feel bad about it, but I also want to be taken care of in order to give a tip for good service. This was not good service and the food was mediocre. First, I have to say that the drinks are fantastic. I got the 24 Carrot Magic, a tequila based drink made with carrot juice. It is perfectly balance and dang smooth. A really perfect drink for brunch. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp and Grits and my wife got the special of the day, chicken and biscuit. The portion size is perfect for both dishes. For the Grilled Shrimp and Grits, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, plump, and juicy and the grits were buttery without being too rich and oily, which perfectly complimented the shrimp. The andouille sausage adds a perfect salty bite to the dish, and the fresh greens and crispy noodle rounds out the dish. As for the chicken and biscuit, the dish came out hot and juice. The biscuit is glazed with a jalapeño honey which compliments the dish perfectly. The biscuit has a nice crisp to it but still fluffy and buttery inside, and I think it's one of the better biscuit in the Denver metro area. The chicken is juicy and perfectly seasoned. Overall, 24 Carrot Bistro is a fantastic restaurant. The brunch menu has many attractive options, and I definitely will be back to try dinner.
