I enjoy a lot about this place. Service is typically great. Breakfast quesadilla with carne asada is excellent, and the pancakes here are spot on. But you guys need to teach the cooks how to cook a steak. I've order a steak medium on two separate occasions and had to send it back because it was well done. The second time, my server said to order it medium rare next time so that it would come out medium. I shouldn't have to do that, let's be real, but ok, sure - third time I ordered, I order the steak med rare. Got a well done steak again. Guess I just won't order the steak anymore. Again, I really like this place, but think it's important that I'm honest here, because someone needs to say it. Otherwise, great place. Thanks! read more

I've only been to Doug's Diner once so far, but I am eager to go back! My family and I went for breakfast and everything was delicious. The staff was also very friendly and pretty quick. It's a very cute local vibe, especially in the area this location is in. What stood out to me was the cinnamon roll! It's HUGE and so delicious. I normally go here for breakfast which is always very good. But this time I needed lunch and it was a handy option. I had my dog BFF with me so they accommodated with outside seating which they had to set up for us. I ordered the lunch burrito with steak as my protein and green vs red chili. The burrito was large and oh so good, perfectly prepared, not too spicy. The service was good and the prices are what they are. My doggie BFF gave the steak two paws up, he's easy to please where food is concerned. read more

Ordered takeout biscuits gray and bacon. Bacon was over done, HARD to chew. Biscuits had no flavor, gravy had little flavor and there was not enough to cover the no taste biscuits. I live nearby and will not return. Not worth the price for poorly cooked food. read more

I've been hearing my neighbors rant and rave about this new Doug's Diner in Longmont/Mead, CO. So, I decided to give this place a try to update my readers. Doug's Diner is located where the old Red Rooster diner used to be. The service we received at this diner was excellent! The service was super friendly, welcoming and attentive. I would give it six out of five stars! Our waitress' name was Shawna. Her service was absolutely remarkable! She was very knowledgeable of the menu items and her recommendations were spot-on! Another great serving professional is Aaron! Honestly, everyone that works here is super-friendly and willing to go out of their way to accommodate you. If you like meat (like I do), then you've made the right choice by coming to this diner! Be prepared to go there with you appetite as well, as their portion sizes are big. Big enough that you can make two meals out of what they bring to you. Everything you order is cooked to your requested preference -- with perfection! For example, when I go to a diner and order hash browns crispy, they are usually somewhat crispy on the outside and NEVER crispy in the middle. But not here. The hashbrowns were crispy to perfection all the way through! My eggs were also cooked to perfection with loads of bacon. I have found my 'repeat' diner. First time visiting Doug's Diner in Mead and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was very comfortable and we were seated quickly. Our waitress Angie, was very courteous and wonderful with her service and our breakfast was very good, I'll definitely be back for more. I recommend you all come and pay them a visit!!! read more

We waited over 30 minutes and when we asked about why we couldn't be seated when everyone else was being seated before us, we were told because we had five people in our party and they didn't have enough tables for that many. I asked is they could put tables together, she said no they didn't have any room to do that. We stood quietly and patiently. As soon as we sat down, the waitress immediately asked what we wanted, but we were not even all seated yet. We felt rushed and we were asked if we would be comfortable removing one of our tables. One table seats 4 people and they wanted to put five of us at one table. After waiting all that time the nerve of them asking this was unacceptable. The waitress even acknowledged our wait time. Why even ask us to put us on one little table?! Horrible horrible service.!!!! Especially from what we found out later, the manager (with the braids) was laughing and appeared to be talking about us to the other employee. She had an attitude and made us feel uncomfortable. I'm so disappointed. I was so excited to have a Doug's closer and take my family. It wasn't super busy on this Sunday morning and happy we stopped by. I had the favorite omelette with cottage cheese. The cottage cheese tasted sour. The ingredients for the favorite omelette was just placed on the eggs that were already cooked and then cheese thrown on top. We keep coming back for the service, even though the food is so-so. Don't get me wrong, the food is fresh but they do a few things I don't prefer, like putting the cheese on top of their omelette instead of IN the omelette. (Our waitress told us to ask next time for them to put the cheese in the omelette ). Their bacon and their coffee are amazing. Our waitress, Kristin, was the best waitress I've ever had. She was so kind and patient with our elderly mother and she was very vigilant to our table. We will keep coming back. Since I don't like their omelette, I get a basic breakfast which is very good. The baked goods look great but since I'm gluten free I haven't tried them. They do offer gf toast which is great with their homemade jellies. read more

The first time I went (early afternoon) the floor had a lot of debris on it. I really didn't want to set my purse down on the floor. The waitress forgot part of my order. Have stop at this location for years surprised now Doug's. Eat at Doug's Greeley, Windsor, Ft.Collins and meals have always been good. The breakfast served was the worst breakfast I have had at any restaurant ever. Toast came unbuttered a small paper cup of hard butter beside it wouldn't spread on toast cold. Bacon was cooked to hard, beef jerky would have been eatable the bacon served was well beyond crisp!! Ate the eggs only. My wife's waffle was cold and hard butter and the whipping cream on top did not melt at all. Give a failing grade. read more
