Love this place! I prefer this location way more than the one in north Loveland. Their shredded potatoes are the best in town

Bacon Bleu Cheeseburger with Messy Chips!
Christian C.

This is my experience at the restaurant... Absolutely amazing experience and food! I had the ham Benedict and my husband had the bacon bleu cheeseburger with messy chips. The hostess and waitress were incredible! Inside was clean and smelled great, like a true diner. So food 5/5, service 5/5 and overall 5/5. This is a must do in Loveland!

Watching and getting an idea of what to order next time.

Wow. What a find! So much energy! I am so glad that I got a counter seat. Got to order AND watch the process! I was given a menu and water quickly. I was watching what was being prepared and it all looked so good! I was quickly becoming overwhelmed with choices! Not a bad thing! I did order and chatted with a customer who is sitting next to me. They are regulars and also had wonderful suggestions for food! Unless you can eat 2-3 meals at once plan to come back! The place was hopping, the service was awesome, and the food was great. If you are looking for a breakfast spot this is the place!

The Basic Breakfast - SO much food. Pictures doesn't do it justice but the biggest griddle biscuits and sausage patties I've ever seen!

Traveling through Loveland & our local go-to spot was closed. We've eaten at Doug's Day Diner in Fort Collins many times & always enjoyed it so we decided to give the Loveland location a shot. Glad we did. The menu is pretty simple. Breakfast and brunch items (some unique) with a few burgers and salads. However, the taste is anything but simple. Really DELICIOUS food in good sized portions.. Our family of four got basic breakfast platters, biscuits & gravy and the southern sweet toast plate. Every meal was tasty and not a scrap of food was left over. The food is well cooked and served fresh at a good price. On top of that, we came in about 50 minutes before closing & still received 5 star, over-the-top friendly service from both waitresses the entire time. We will definitely be back when we travel through Loveland again!

This is my kind of diner. Busy, crowded, loud, with a friendly and helpful staff, an amazing menu with BIG portions. I could even say TOO BIG, but that's a good thing. Came here a few times while working in Loveland. Every time a different order, and every time a great experience. Thanks Doug's Day Diner for the experience in Loveland!

The Basic

I'm from the southern US, and we do breakfast right. So when I walked into Doug's, I was a bit suspicious. Where are the grizzled veterans chain smoking in the corner? It's...clean? No grumpy server? This can't be a greasy spoon. Oh, but it is! Well, it's a delicious spoon. Food was cooked perfectly, service was great, and you got a lot of food for the price. The turkey green chili sausage was amazing, but the star of the show was the blueberry pancake. Holy cow. Doug's puts my meemaw to shame (sorry Meemaw)! Loveland, you have a treasure here. We really enjoyed it. Thank you!

This was really good diner food. Huge portions. I had the Papas which was a base of hasnrowns and cheese and I got the asada and green chile. It had just a little heat and good flavor. Girlfriend got the Mona Omelette that had a lot of good thick cut bacon in it and a ton of chiles. It also came with a giant biscuit that was nice and crusty but also had a slightly sweet flavor. Highly recommend it if you just want really solid diner food with a big and varied menu.

The pancakes are huge! I was torn between ham and bacon as my side dish, but I'm glad I chose the ham. It was incredibly juicy and surprisingly delicious. The hotcakes were tastefully fluffy, and the chocolate chips were a delightful addition.

B&G, Sweet Toast

"Massive portions" is an accurate statement! Biscuits split, fried on the griddle, topped with sausage gravy and are huge and delicious. The sweet toast (French toast) was a huge portion and was also yummy. Our server was funny and attentive, & we got our food fast. Will recommend to my work guys who travel to Loveland.

This place is in the heart of downtown Loveland and it's super freaking cute. It's definitely a diner setting and I love it. Our waitress and the staff were phenomenal couldn't ask for better service and smiles galore. The food was just absolutely fabulous. We ordered the funnel cake bacon and let me tell you it was perfect. The batter wasn't over fried nor chewy it was perfect consistency and then it parried perfectly w the syrup they brought. Then my meal i ordered I honestly couldn't tell You what I ordered cause I ordered whatever plate was walking by because it looked so freaking good. Basically what it was, was a crap ton shredded fresh potatoes smothered some sort of sauce then some of the most tender flavored beef tips I've ever had at a diner in my life followed by some over medium eggs and some jalapeños that were just the right spicyness when I tell you this plate was perfect and the best comfort food I meant it! I wish I knew the name of it! Come on Yelp help me out and correct me! Anyways this place is a must because the service, the food the location and the spot is just PERFECT if you don't try it YOURE missing out!

I have really come to be very fond of this place. I have eaten here several times, and every time each thing I put into my mouth is delicious! This time I had the crispy bird. It was on delicious wheat bread with almonds, guacamole, perfectly grilled chicken with lettuce and tomatoes. Super tasty. I chose to have a salad with blue cheese. Salad full of tasty ingredients in a blue cheese homemade and delicious. Hobby got the daily special which was a club sandwich. Equally delicious with their crispy,Tasty french fries! The service is top notch, very attentive, and the place is clean and bright. Cool locally painted are on the walls for sale. I enjoy this place and for sure will be back. You should check it out.

Great breakfast and lunch place. Large portions so go hungry. Busy at times and can take awhile to get served, but always hot and fresh.

My second visit I think I had some kind of Mexican omelet and it was delicious as well. The wait staff is always top notch. On my most recent visit, we once again had excellent service. I don't remember her name by she has tattoos on her ears and is not Hispanic. She's awesome. Now for the two star review. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. I can't believe l didn't send it back. The "steak" wouldn't even qualify as meat, let alone steak. It was mushy like pablum and was made to be eaten with a spoon. It was disgusting. It had some type of flavor, but it wasn't meat. I can't believe they had the nerve to call it "steak". I tried scraping off the 'fried' part but the whole thing had no body to it whatsoever and just fell apart. To be fair, my husband had a traditional bacon and eggs meal and he said it was good. What the heck happened? I know the prices of meat have gone up but again- it was not meat. Don't restaurants usually go to a cheaper cut of real meat? I was so disappointed and grossed out at the same time. I don't know if I can ever go back.

The Croissant was pretty dried out, and no butter or jam came with it (but I was cheerfully given some upon request). I'm having some trouble adjusting to 2024's inflated prices - is $21 for an omelet and a glass of orange juice reasonable? With taxes and tip, that's like $26! I like breakfast-centric restaurants, but to be quite honest I don't feel much pull from the Epic Egg drawing me back. p.s. Customers don't like it when the menu has one price and the check has another. My Barbarian Omelet rang up $1 higher ($16.50) than the menu showed. Not cool.

The owner, Emily, was there working to keep everything running smoothly. The food was healthy and evidently is a great local favorite. All the breakfast and brunch staples you'd hope for, done really well. Our server, Izzy, was amazing too. Super friendly and on top of a party of 9 (and my 18-month old toddler. I'd totally recommend this spot for a laid-back breakfast or brunch. And honestly, if I'm ever back in the area, I'd go out of my to visit Taste Local again. I ordered a Baklava Latte with oat milk, as one does in Rome, and the sweet potato hash with a homemade biscuit. The food is very fresh and the choices are vast. Something for everyone here so young and old will enjoy their meals here. It does get busy on weekends and holidays but is steady at other times as well. Only open till two, I suggest you go earlier. Good to consider is the 3 Egg breakfast with the bacon and fruit, the pancake flight with the Cinnamon Roll pancake as well as the regular pancake flight, The Cure drink, The ABCLT with salad. Plus the omelets are good as well. The only thing we found that wasn't great on the menu were the hash browns on multiple visits so sub them out if you can. They also don't seat parties together always even when tables open up near the first party so be aware of that. Other than that a great place! You can be seated inside or out. Service is generally very good. Parking is easy right outside. There are restrooms that are clean. There is a bar in the back. So many great things to be eaten here so come hungry!

PSA if…read moreusing Maps for directions - it took us through an alley but actually the restaurant faces College Ave. We were warmly greeted by Sam who ended up being our server. We immediately had drink orders taken and recommendations offered. The menu has something for everyone- pancakes, French toast, chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, bennys, omelets, and the there is a healthy choice menu as well as gf items; Non alcoholic as well as alcoholic cocktails, juices, and coffees available. I ordered a cappuccino to start with and it had a TON of froth on top- perfection! My daughter had a juice drink called the Cure- it was a bit heavy in the coconut water for her taste but it was delicious and came with a fresh slice of pineapple. We selected The breakfast sandwich and the blue corn huevos rancheros and we split a side cinnamon roll pancake. Let's talk perfection in a pancake-- this topped anything I've ever tasted- the fluffiest, softest, flavorful pancake. Perfect drizzles of cinnamon sugar covered with frosting. So so good. Lemon ricotta pancakes will be the choice next time. Didn't need syrup but it came warm and, heck yeah! Both our dishes came with hash browns which for our preference could have used a bit more crisp and salt( salt easily remedied). The breakfast sandwich had scrumptious, thick sourdough and generous portions of bacon, with pesto aioli and eggs of choice. Every bite was eaten, even the crusts -(adulting)! The huevos rancheros were tasty- perfect base of crunch but the main attraction was the soft and flavorful scrambled eggs and chorizo topped with Avacado crema. Taste buds satisfied as well as our hunger. Although we came in starving we had food to spare. Sam was attentive and friendly and we lingered in a comfortable setting. Ladies- check out the wishing wall in the restrooms- cute customer forward touch! Prices reasonable for all the food- you won't be sorry checking this place out.
