What a surprise (and not the kind of surprise like when you leave for work and see a flat tire). A GOOD surprise. We stumbled on AKA when hitting up the area. Nice outdoor seating with shade. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak. It came with au jus ( a first) and a chimichurri spread. I expressed to the excellent server how unique and delish it was and she said that's what the AKA stands for. We stopped here for lunch on our way through Loveland today. We were greeted with a smile and seated right away. Our waitress greeted us and I asked for waters to start. We had to ask the hostess to find our waitress because she hadn't come back with waters in the 15 minutes we had been sitting there. Not a big deal but foreshadowed what was to come. I ordered the Chimichurri Cheesesteak Sandwich with the sidewinder fries. Both were delicious! The Chimichurri added a nice touch to the sandwich and the fries were seasoned well. We were asked by our waitress if we wanted the house-made ketchup or ranch, we chose the ketchup. Pretty sure she forgot about us again, our fries were almost gone by the time she came back with the ketchup. It was a good thing we didn't wait to eat the fries because the ketchup was a big disappointment. It was very thin and not much flavor, I would try the ranch if I were you. We came at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday so it was not busy. The inside is very nice and not overly loud. We don't stop to eat in Loveland often so this will probably not be on the list of places to come back to because there seems to be a lot of good looking restaurants opening that we would also like to try. read more

Brewery + kitchen. It sounds like whatever the manly equivalent of brunch is. It was kind of cool to see man-brunch, aka munch. Breakfast was offered until 2 PM. We put in our order at 1:47 PM. Our waitress said it's 2 o'clock somewhere but not there, so our breakfast orders were a go. She was lovely to interact with. The food was also lovely AKA awesome (LOL) Apparently breakfast burritos are considered Coloradan cuisine so we had them and OMG they were amazing. IDK how, but our party of 7 scarfed down 5 breakfast burritos in record time. And some eggcellent eggs (BRB I'll show myself out...). And some fantastical fries. The food was meager and disappointing. We ordered the kebabs and rice, miso bowl, and jalapeño burger. We were surprised at how little were on the kebabs, the rice was not good, the burger lacked in flavor and the miso bowl was lacking in noodles and toppings. The only thing good was the twisty fries. When I think of equivalent meals for the price at other restaurants, I'm not sure how AKA Kitchen stays in business. Our server was nice and we enjoyed sitting on the patio, but we came for dinner and we left still hungry. We will not be back. read more

Tucked away on a side street, A.K.A Kitchen is a hidden gem. Walk through the big, shady outdoor seating area into an unassuming, roomy indoor restaurant and order from a one-page menu. I had the Spinach and Artichoke Flatbread, my friens had the Street Tacos and Bob's Kabobs. That flatbread was absolutely delicious! All ingredients were fresh and the balsamic reduction added a touch of magic. The kabobs and tacos were equally good. Service was extraordinary, fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Let me make one thing clear. Their beer and service are fine. The waitresses and brewers seem to know what they are about. The food on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. I came here with a few friends. They got burgers and one got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. They said that the buns were absolutely soaked in grease and the burgers were flavorless. I selected the cattleman's pie. I was expecting a meat pie with a crust but I received unseasoned beef soaked in water with some carrot and celery pieces topped with some cheese. This was $16 for about 3/4 cup of the watery goop. I was very disappointed. But again, nothing is wrong with the beer and service if you are just going for a drink. read more

No flavor whatsoever. my partner ordered the monkey burger and that was delicious! A bit smaller than your average burger but good over all. Fun spot, love sitting on the patio in the fall - it was perfect! They have a great fire pit as well so everyone stayed warm. The pot pie skillet looked phenomenal, we also got spinach artichoke salmon, chicken tacos, and bacon Brussel sprouts. Cocktails were fantastic, highly recommend the lavender mojito. Unfortunately my rating for this place has dramatically decreased. AKA used to be a 'go to' place but not so much anymore. Let's first discuss the facility AKA ambiance...COLD is the best way to describe it-both figuratively and literally. Figuratively there is not a warm welcome, literally this place is freezing, the past three times I've been in I wear a coat-turn the dang heat on. Lastly which makes me real sad-the food has declined-it's not consistent, and I never know if I'm gonna walk out saying "that was amazing" or "meh". I miss the consistent good food, good service, and comfortable ambiance a.k.a. kitchen used to be/have. We honestly want to love this place so badly. We've been three times. First time, we were impressed, the food was fine and the personalities of the servers were great. We JUST moved to town less than a week before. The food did take a while, and our second round of drinks were significantly delayed, like after we'd already finished dinner. But the chicken pot pie and the hamburger helper, and the fries were enough to impress us. Even though they got slammed with a huge party and seemed to get overwhelmed, they were so nice and gave us a card for a free beer and wine because of the inconvenience we experienced after the large party arrived. We spoke highly of the restaurant after this experience. Second time, we didn't even sit because they told us would be a 30 minute wait on Saturday night even though there were tables open all over the place. We were told it was because the kitchen was really backed up. It was as 630 on a Saturday night and not even close to all the tables were filled. So we decided to give them another shot two weeks later. Third time, we sat down and immediately ordered drinks, appetizer, and food. Drinks and appetizer came out normally, but almost an hour later we realized two tables that ordered after us had eaten and were leaving.... so we asked questions, and we were told the kitchen forgot to make our food. Yes, they comped everything, yes, they provided the food in to go containers, and yes they were incredibly apologetic and nice. And for that, we can't fault them and we are appreciative.But the food we got was incredibly subpar and still just not worth the trouble. We just moved to the area, so we've given them three shots in less than a month, and we want to love this place, but it's so hard with three times in a row experiencing issues. read more
