After multiple visits I've decided his is not worth the money. I've tried their Cheesburger (large but no flavor) and fries (frozen and were cold). Their Blackened Talapia (Raw and slimy), and their Pasta(bland). Each time I've left feeling utterly disappointed as I spend good money for something I can cook better at home for less. Ive noticed the bartender is almost never at the bar to take drink orders so my drinks are late and once didn't arrive until my dinner was over. On a good note their staff is friendly and they do have a good beer selection. read more

Food is ok at best. It tastes and some of it even looks like canned foods.. If you wanna eat outside and enjoy the breeze, don't even think about it.. Their patio always has a ton of gross SMOKERS on it at any given day and time.. I felt like I was in Texas again with a smoking and non smoking section.. Outside is definatley the smoking section here and it's severely gross to take a bite into a sloppy burger and inhale some dude's smoke he just exhaled.. Haven't been to Loveland in a bit. Stopped in tonight and they did not disappoint. We got the Margarita Pizza, Salmon Tacos, and Jalapeño Burger. Food was excellent, service from Stef and Linde were excellent and the new decor was really nice. They have music on the weekends now so hopefully I can make my way back here soon. Saturday evening 7:30 found us in a Moot House booth. For a start we ordered the beet salad. Menu says roasted beets but we think these tasted boiled or steamed. That said, they were perfectly cooked, adorning a mixed green salad. I probably would call this a mixed green salad with beets, rather than a beet salad. Greens made up 80% of it. Still a decent salad. For mains, I ordered their Fish and Chips (2 and 3-piece available) and she ordered the Parmesan Sea Bass. The fish and chips were great, crisp, not greasy, and the shoestring fries were fantastic. Sea bass was tasty, Parmesan crusted and pan seared with charred lemon and capers on it. Yum! In prior visits we've had their wedge salad, Brussels sprouts, Reuben, Caesar salad and a few other items. Some better than others (loved the Brussels!) but all were above average for the price. I am sure most of us have experienced that at some point. I pointed out the problem to the staff and a 'manager' promptly came out to apologize and offer me a new steak. I accepted the offer and finished my potato while watching my mother enjoy her steak. The manager returned with my recooked steak and asked me to check the doneness while she was there. Guess what, it was still overcooked! I did not want to wait for a third steak, so I be agreed to eat the steak, which was OK but not the juicy medium rare ribeye that I expected for $45. To top it off and the real impetus for writing this review was when the manager suggested that if I want a medium rare steak I should just order it rare. Really? To close, all of the wait staff were great, friendly, and efficient. Maybe the waiter was new, because he said that he was sure he could get a discount on the bill for the trouble. I wasn't fishing for discounts, I just wanted to eat a good steak. Unfortunately, the management did not share his interest in admitting their failure in the kitchen. I will probably try to talk my mother into a different restaurant the next time we go out.

That said, it was perfectly acceptable and hit the spot. My next two visits were at the bar, where both bartenders were friendly, attentive, and clearly knew their craft. Based on those experiences, I'd definitely return if I were in the area and would recommend others give it a try as well.

I tried the salmon burger (new to the menu, I'm told) which is actually a salmon croquette on a bun with some lettuce and vinaigrette. It's HUGE and not in a good way. The first few bites were okay, and I thought the heavily breaded effect was due to biting into the edge. As I continued eating, though, most bites felt like a mouthful of bread. I can only hope there was minced salmon in it, but the ratio was so heavy on breadcrumbs that I couldn't detect it. Not the slightest hint of pink on the inside either. I ate about 1/2, my hungry hub finished it. The flaws of the salmon burger didn't seem worth pointing out to the server after the response I got with the drink. Later, as we walked around downtown, I felt like I had a lead sandwich in my stomach. My husband had a better experience than I. His bison burger came out great. No complaints. Unfortunately for me, I think I'll just have to order very specific things when coming here now. Austin's has sentimental value for me - it's the first place we dined after moving here 27 years ago. Because of that, I keep giving them second chances after they fall short. I just wish they'd return to the days of "you can't go wrong", everything is awesome.
