Loved their food. I went the other night and saw roaches running around behind the stove. I had just finished eating. Gross and sad.

Crispy chicken sandwich. So good

I love this resturant. Soon as I walk in it feels like home.. the food here is wonderful. And every time I come here the servers and cooks are constantly cleaning and prepping. And the atmosphere here is just so welcoming . The music is great and I would come here every day if I could . Great job everyone . You get a 5 star from me

Road Trip Series, Part 38 Greasy Spoon Series, Part 1 Road trips aren't for everyone. I get that. Personally I love them and one of the reasons is planning where to spend the night when you've just had enough driving for one day. That place is neither home nor your desired destination. It's the in-between. The there, but not "there" yet. During our Flagstaff road trip we spent a day in Phoenix, which meant that getting home that night would likely stretch us beyond our safest limits, so we planned a layover before completing the rest of the drive home the following day. It was while arriving at our hotel in Yuma, Arizona, that we noticed a 24-hour diner within walking distance. Oh, yeah. Our agenda for the next morning just became clear: experience "Penny's Diner." From the exterior it appeared to be the quintessential "greasy spoon." Sadly, such places are often overlooked and under appreciated, but I find the charm of an inexpensive diner undeniable. Hold the pretense and just hit me with some comfort food and a side of friendly service! The first things you'll notice when you enter Penny's are the carefully curated 50's music playing, the associated time period memorabilia, and the sizzling of the grill. Ah, ambiance! Inspired by this experience I've decided that if I ever run for city council my campaign platform will include a resolution that all "greasy spoons" located within city limits be required to serve hash browns with every meal. Order of eggs? Your side of hash browns are part of the package. How about oatmeal, a bran muffin, or bowl of cereal? Yep, they all come with a crispy friend. I may need a little help squeezing my campaign slogan onto the yard signs though. "Hash browns with every meal. That's not just common sense...it's the law!" And that's...Henry's Take. #greasyspoon #henry4citycouncil

We went in for a midnight eats fest, if you will. It was just as I remembered it from years ago; a decent sit-down place with the 1950's motif. I've usually have reservations about '50's diner motifs because of what my ethnicity went thru back then, but that's more of a "me" issue! Nevertheless the meals were good, the customer service above par, and I felt relatively safe eating there with my group late at night. Taste for the munchies, in a nostalgic setting? Don't sleep on this diner!

I stop by after the gym to have some breakfast for dinner. Nice old school style dinner. Food was great! The girl with all the tattoos was my waitress and she was nice! I will be back!

Big scramble

I always love going to diners and having a large greasy meal. There is something really patriotic about going into neon and metallic building playing 1950's music and overdosing on calories. And this spot gives me exactly that. I came into this place at night, passing through the area. It's located in a hotel area off the freeway, but mostly served local customers. I sat at the counter, ordered, and got my food promptly. The service, and the patrons, were friendly. I had a big scramble with a big pancake. It was delicious, and enough to feed at least 3 people and a small baby.

Mmm good

But what you'll find is a 5 star restaurant once you step inside. They have patio dining as well as tables inside. Each meal is prepared and plated with culinary skill. On this day, I had the curry shrimp and veggies. A sort of deconstructed Thai yellow curry dish. The plating made all the difference. The plate was served with a shaped mound of rice in the middle, with sauteed vegetables around the edges, green beans, carrots, zucchinis, onions, peppers and 8 shrimp placed around the plate on top of the veggies. The Yellow curry was poured over the rice for a unique plating. The shrimp were cooked nicely and everything was delicious. I have never had a disappointing meal in this place. I sat near the front door and had a duel with a relentless fly for a while that was a little annoying. But hey, sometime we deal with things in life for the greater good. A top notch , do not miss restaurant in my book and I recommend to everyone I know. This day I purposely left my phone in the car so I could take a real break on my drive from San Diego to Tucson.

Yep it's back by popular demand but it's now called egg in a nest. What the heck? Anyway every one ordered something different and we ate to our hearts content and had no complaints whatsoever about the food, the ambiance or the cleanliness. Chicken fried chicken dinner evaporated from his plate. The burger and onion petals seemed to have delighted the nephew. One of the ladies in our party seemed happy with her chicken strips, which were more than abundant! Another ordered a diet plate of some sort with cottage cheese and sliced tomatoes and was especially happy. A new item on the menu appealed to another. Louisiana shrimp skillet. Was flavorful, and those who tasted the nice portion of shrimp agreed that it was surprisingly delicious. The side, dishes of okra, and greens are always favorites. All of us commented on the new menu. Although we missed the old format, this one is easier to hold, and the print is bold enough that you're not needing to use your flashlight if you're older like we are. We are thankful that the menu has the old favorites, something new and that Cracker Barrel values its customers. It's such a nice thing to be able to travel and dine at any location and feel like your unfamiliar surroundings. But I wonder why is that there are so many locals who freely admit that they have never yet dined here? One maintenance issue... the latch on the ladies handicap stall door is STILL needing to be fixed! One issue with our visit. Not once were we offered refills on beverages.

Almost broke a tooth trying to eat it. The okra side was bland and the macaroni side was also. My biscuits were good but would have liked some jam with them. My waitress was busy elsewhere and I wasn't going to wait. I had some pesky flies bothering me and was ready to leave! I asked for a tea to go and she brought me a kids sized glass. Really? This experience wasn't worth the 26 dollars I spent. Bring back the old Cracker Barrel.

My wife and I and a friend visited Cafecito on the Monday after Easter. The service was great and the drinks were ready quickly. We looked around the main building at all of the cool artistic touches and even a few private spaces. People were reading books, talking, using laptops, relaxing, etc. We took our drinks and found a nice spot under a gazebo in their expansive outdoor garden area. We chatted for the better part of an hour. No rush. Fantastic space which filled up rather quickly on a Monday morning. Plenty of people taking advantage of the amazing seating areas in the outdoor space. We will definitely be back. Already looking forward to it. I've only ever passed through Yuma traveling around the Southwest, but never stopped to check it…read moreout. I've definitely been missing out. Prison Hill is the classic brewery serving a great variety of beers and food. Lineup for the night: Chango Malo (stout), Crimin Ale (cream ale), Peanut Butter Stout. Each beer was phenomenal in mouth feel as I like the richer, creamier beers. Chango malo had a lovely cocoa flavor. Peanut Butter stout actually tasted like peanut butter without being offensive. You can taste the peanuts behind the butter. The Crimin ale had a good mouth feel but pro tip - don't have a lighter beer between two heavier ones with spicy food. It gets a bit overpowered. On the topic of food, I had the Wrecker sandwich. Soft roll, smoked meat, and crunchy slaw made for a good dichotomy of texture in the sandwich. When you see smoke rings in a bbq sandwich, you know you're eating some primo shit. I'm not a big fan of spicy though but this was the right amount between the slaw and the fresh jalapeños. I felt like deviating from the usual burger and it was a good choice. Looking around at some of the other plates, I don't think I couldve gone wrong. Solid venue, good food, good beer, great staff.
