I am not a coffee or tea drinker. I wish I liked either because I do not drink alcohol or soda either. My choices are limited. But I can appreciate a fantastic place to enjoy these beverages. Cannot think of a better place than Cafecito in Yuma, AZ. They do have an Horchata. There are also muffins, oats, and fruit bowls. My wife and I and a friend visited Cafecito on the Monday after Easter. The service was great and the drinks were ready quickly. We looked around the main building at all of the cool artistic touches and even a few private spaces. People were reading books, talking, using laptops, relaxing, etc. We took our drinks and found a nice spot under a gazebo in their expansive outdoor garden area. We chatted for the better part of an hour. No rush. Fantastic space which filled up rather quickly on a Monday morning. Plenty of people taking advantage of the amazing seating areas in the outdoor space. We will definitely be back. Already looking forward to it. Their outdoor garden space is a dream backyard to share time and coffee with people you care about or curl up and read a book ( and when it's sweltering hot in Yuma... you can still go do under a tiki hut or shaded spot. Their inside space is just as cozy with cute art and inviting seating. A cute space is nice but when you add darn good coffee/ lattes and nice staff... now you have it going on. Visiting my wife's sister and nephew took us to this great place in the center of downtown. Fantastic outside sitting area with lots greenery to where enjoy your coffee, a beverage or food. If I lived here I'd be here consistently just to listen to the classic rock music and ambiance. The tables and plants around the property just make this place a fun hangout. Ordered the Corchata and others the cold brew and acai bowl. The menu showed some very unique and interesting breakfast items. All of us were happy with our order. What a cute find! This coffee shop has such a charming interior--thoughtfully designed, cozy, and full of character. We were especially surprised by the unexpected backspace, which adds even more to its unique vibe. We enjoyed two iced mochas and a horchata to go. All the drinks were good but not great. I only wish we had more time to sit and soak in the atmosphere; it's definitely the kind of place you want to linger. Stopped here after getting a recommendation from a local friend! The cafe is in the historic north end, not far from some good shopping spots and food. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in, but I was really into the decor and loved the incorporation of vintage couches and kitchen appliances! It was nice to be somewhere that wasn't beige and it felt homey and cozy. Maximalism without being cluttered. There's lot of seating and places for quiet conversation. I tried the iced Corchata off of the coffee menu and almost got the El Changito when I saw a chef step out and brûlée the sugar on the toast! Noticed they also serve alcohol. So tempting. What to say about this gem in Yuma. This was one of our first cafe stops on our road trip and the coffee here set the standard for all other coffee shops we stopped by after. My lavender latte was one of the best I've ever had. They even garnished it with some fresh lavender petals. A friend ordered a cold brew and we couldn't find a better one from there to Austin. The coffee was so good I inquired about the beans and they were happy to inform us who their roaster was - spirit mountain. The staff was amazing and super friendly. The cafe was wonderfully eclectic, and unique. They converted what was once an office area to a cafe where you can have private rooms with small groups on the inside. Cafecito was a recommendation by a coworker, according to her, this coffee shop is so unique and cool with really good coffee. I have to say that was absolute description of Cafecito. It's looks small from the outside but walking into the house/coffee shop you see the appeal and charm this place has. From beautifully artistic curated rooms with marvelous art, statues, guitars etc. The backyard of Cafecito is also really pretty and well organized, I can imagine it being packed on the weekends and cool days. I think I have talked enough about the shop itself, the coffee was really good. I ordered the Cafecito mocha, it was good but not sweet enough for my liking. The barista was kind enough to make it sweeter for me. I wanted a shot of baileys in it, but I was told I had to drink it in house since if I ordered alcohol. It was a bummer but I'm sure next time when I have more energy I will sit in house to enjoy baileys in my coffee. Overall such a cool coffee shop, pleasant baristas, and great coffee. read more

We got our drinks very quickly even though it was busy (my boyfriend said he normally doesn't go there on the weekends). For all the talk about how coffee shops act as "third spaces", current design trends leave many of them indistinguishable. Their counters are quartz, they have oat milk as default, their plants are abundant. They may have some wooden accents, and maybe some MCM furniture. Their menu is on a clipboard, or it is carefully arranged on the wall in a mutable way. When personality is in hiding, it's hard to see how coffee shops can be a "third place", even when the baristas are charming and the drinks are good. I was awestruck by how Cafecito approaches design; it is indisputably the design of a community and of home. Their expansive outdoor patio is speckled with reclaimed metal and oddball design features that just work (flying saucer, table made out of one of those pedaled pub crawl things). Eclectic maximalism is what they do, and they do it well. This eclecticism isn't without purpose. They have a wall with personal commemorations of veterans in their community who fell in the line of duty. The Cafecito-exclusive merchandise is locally sourced. They have art for sale on the walls by local artists. It's thoughtful, careful design work; Cafecito is intimate. It is a place where you can write a novel, meet with friends (or someone new!), or study for an exam. Cafecito does this with ease. Their coffee is excellent. Their food (Cafecito oats, in particular) is worthy of acclaim. Their use of Walmart store brand oat milk rather than a brand name barista blend had me hesitant, but I felt no more qualms after drinking two different drinks (their chai cold brew and their honey/lavender latte). Their prices are reasonable, their service is prompt, their hours are good (I appreciate the early start). It's not often that a coffee shop strikes me like this. Perhaps it's the mystique of being in the American Southwest for the first time, but I don't think so -- Cafecito is exceptional for everyone in every way. read more

While visiting my mother who lives in the area, she raved about Cafecito as her favorite coffee shop in Yuma. Given that my background is interior decorating, furniture, and space design, she knew I'd instantly be drawn into this creative space that makes up Cafecito. Bright colors fill the coffee shop from the walls to the furniture. Splashes of local artist and artwork are found along the walls and several areas that allow people to gather or have solo time. Communal tables are placed indoors and along the exterior outdoor space, which is ideal for designing a space, as it allows users to choose their style to enjoy their time. The space really pulls in the elements of the soil and seems promising to the community in the long run. The staff was friendly, and the various drinks I had daily helped wake me up every morning during my visit. My personal favorite was the Corchata, which comes with a small cookie inside (maybe, as I wasn't sure what was at the bottom of my coffee cup, yet I'm assuming it was a cookie). The avocado toast comes with balsamic vinegar, chia seed, goat cheese, tomatoes, black and white sesame seeds on a multigrain bread toasted. Overall, I was impressed with the space and I totally need to get a shirt and hat next time I'm in town!
