What a diamond in the Rough! This place is so well done for people wanting to sit and socialize inside or out. I asked for a recommendation on what coffee drink and the iced Cafe de la OLLo was it! Wow it was delicious and so was the cinnamon bagel!! It was more like a brioche so easy and yummy to eat! The girls were great don't forget to read the cards they have for purchase. Hilarious. Seriously, the coolest little coffeehouse I've ever been to tucked into the foothills in a funky little place that you could drive right by and never know it's there. This location is just off the I-8 at the 8 1/2 E Avenue exit on the North Frontage road. The walls are painted with poppies and other charming art. Such a charming place to stop and have an outdoor or patio breakfast, brunch or just a refreshing coffee or tea. Enjoy the outdoor ambience by the water fountain under the gazebo. The coffee scene in Yuma has expanded over the past few years beyond Starbucks & Dunkin'. I had seen a few friends post about Sunshine Café and the ambiance seemed cute. I verified their hours before heading over there. Sunshine Café can be hard to miss when you are coming down Frontage Rd; it is the first right behind Cactus Storage. There are beautiful, colorful murals alongside the walls, a waterfall, a bar area, and cute little details throughout. The barista, Jessica, was very sweet. Bf ordered their signature coffee, Cafe de la olla ($5), and I ordered the oatchata ($4). Bf ordered a large and it was HUGE! Like 32oz! If you are truly looking for black coffee, specify as bf was surprised to find that it was sweetened with cinnamon. The oatchata was creamy, cinnamony, and just the right balance of coffee/sweetness. Delicious coffee options to please anyone, baristas that feel like grounds you have known for years, and an environment that you just want to hang out in for hours! So we did! We loved Sunshine so we visited as much as we could. Ash, Jessie and Andrea were wonderful! We would have gone more during our couple weeks in Yuma but repairs on our Jeep kept us away. Our favorite was the large cold brew coffee. It had a chocolate flavor to it that just made our taste buds so happy. But Andrea also nailed the we cappuccino on the days that I needed a warm beverage. As for the shop itself... it was warm and inviting. You enter the walled courtyard, and it's quite spacious! There are seating options all over with views of gardens, fountains, and other well decorated niches. Most days, we sat inside at stools in front of the large window panels that opened to the courtyard. We were able to enjoy the fresh air and view of the courtyard. One Sunday, we also visited their Farmers Market in the courtyard. There was a variety of vendors with products, food and services. Almost inedible. 5 stars for atmosphere and coffee selection, 0 for the breakfast sandwiches. If you've been open a while and are still serving cold egg/cheese/bacon & sausage on a flaccid bagel, your kitchen needs a wake-up call. There appears to be no kitchen, so there's no way to choose what you'd like or to get any sandwich that's toasted, with freshly made eggs or melted cheese. Everything appears to have been made elsewhere, sitting around, served cold and rubbery. Get the coffee. Skip the food. read more

My new favorite coffee spot in Yuma. Drinks are delicious but my fav is the ambiance and surroundings of this place. There's a small area inside to sit but more places outside under shade. It's a great place to go by yourself and do some work or to meet up friends over light conversation. There was a food truck the last time I was there but I didn't try the food. The pour over was done with perfection. The coffee has full of flavor without any bitterness. I highly recommend this amazing coffee house. You will love it.
