    Glamis dunes

This place is worth the 18 mile dune drive from Glamis Gekko camping! The building is so beautiful, that's the first thing you notice. Someone spent some serious money building this place. We arrive at 10:45, after looking at the breakfast menu we decided to get some bloody Mary and wait until they change over to the lunch menu at 11. The bar is nice and fully stocked, the bloody Mary's are good but typical fair. We ordered burgers and fries, the food came out fast and was tasty. Your not going to this place for gourmet offerings. Your going to this place for the fun atmosphere, the ability to drive your ZRZ right up to the parking lot and talk to other sand enthusiasts! Fun place to hang out get some food and drink!

Great place! Burgers and service was outstanding! Come early for shorter lines! Lots of free parking! Definitely worth the drive from wash 6 and only took 2 bars of fuel! only open Friday Saturday Sunday But all week Thanksgiving week

Kids area has basketball and a sand box.

They did a great job on all the renovations a few years ago. Great place to get out of the sun and get something to eat or drink. The gentleman that runs the part store is also very friendly and they seem to have just about everything you need.

Parking lot views. All of these people are here for the great atmosphere!

Friendly service, a full bar, relaxing atmosphere, and tasty food! What more could you ask for?! We had the French toast and vegetarian eggs Benedict, and I had mimosas. The staff was friendly. Special thanks to the kind woman who runs the spot, she explained that the verde huevos rancheros were not vegetarian friendly (no problem, plenty of other veg options) and Levi the bar tender! This place has a great shady patio and lots of space to hang out. This was such a treat in the middle of the desert! Thank you!

Love this place been coming for years. Great drinks and eggs Benedict.

Food service and ghee at drinks. Always a treat when we want a break from a ride in the desert.

Coffee was good, besides not getting a spoon to stir my coffee, that's okay. Coffee was great nonetheless. Breakfast was really good too. HashBrowns was cooked to perfection. Eggs were cooked well too and toast was delicious for sourdough, except I would have liked more butter, but that's okay too. This place is located right next door to a Mc Donald's- (Dick move on corporations) I suggest you give this place a try while driving through Quartzsite for breakfast. A local mom and pop shop that deserves support for a tasty meal.

There was only one server, Josh, running the entire front of the house by himself. Apparently this is customary on Wednesdays. Before he could seat us, he had to clear off a table. Several tables were just in disarray and when people came in, this poor man had to scramble to clean something off. I went to the bathroom and one stall had absolutely no toilet paper or covers. And one dispenser had no soap. The bathroom was just yucky. When I came back, we still didn't have menus or drinks. When our food came, we asked for condiments that took too long that we ended up taking them from another table. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The cook gave me a stale biscuit that just ruined my meal. I couldn't eat it or ask for it to be remade because Josh was too busy to check in on us or refill our drinks. I told him when he came to pick up the plates. He apologized, but he didn't remove it from the check. I paid $10 for a meal I couldn't eat. We got a piece of pie and the taste was kind of weird...like it had been freezer burned and then defrosted. The whole experience was disappointing.

The Good: Tasty California burger (avocado+Monterey Jack…read morecheese) with special sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion, side of onion rings. Lacked a little seasoning but I'd order this again. Bacon cheddar burger was prepared exactly as my wife asked -- bacon crispy, burger well done. Full marks on it. Sweet potato fries were good, too. She'd order this again. Two of three staffers were quite friendly. Overall service was good Needs Improvement Server was not having a good day, seemed like. Not very friendly and I was a bit put off by no apology when I asked for a clean cup -- trace of lipstick on it. Check to see if dish washing was effective. Bottom line is this is one of the better Black Bear diners we've been to. Worth a try.

It was another 15 minutes before the "fish and chips "was brought to the table.. having replaced the french fries with a cup of chili, I checked it to see if it was hot it was!!! Was the coleslaw called?? it was!!! But as I looked at the three planks of fish, my heart sink. Greasy glisten of the tempera like batter concerned me.. the batter was tough and I was unable to cut it with a fork. The tartar sauce was tasty and with a squeeze of lemon on the fish I was delighted to finally have food. I was only able to eat halfway through the first piece of fish before I started peeling away the batter once all three were released from their tough greasy death shrouds... I was able to enjoy about three ounces of fish! The server was attentive and offered a fresh decaf coffee cup to go! I have no idea what was going on at Black Bear last night . Absolutely not what we have experienced previously. The chili was spicy. The coleslaw was fresh.. the 1st cup of decaf was deplorable! Better days ahead I'm hoping !

My girlfriend was supposed to have her car serviced at the dealership today. A wrench was thrown in the works, so the three of us met for breakfast. My boyfriend and I had already had breakfast, so we ordered off the lunch menu. I had a fried chicken sandwich, he had the chicken Caesar wrap. GF got the churro French toast breakfast plate with poached eggs and bacon. The waitress (Caitlin?) didn't pay much attention to our table. When we got our food, the fried chicken breast in the sandwich was lukewarm and she didn't ask about any sauce (ranch, etc) for the onion rings. The lady had to ask for the poached eggs and bacon. Also, she ordered an iced mocha with oat milk and caramel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but nowhere on the menu did it say that oat milk is an additional cost. Caramel was an additional cost. For a puny little iced coffee it ended up being $10. No refills. And we had to ask for ranch. She filled up my boyfriend's water glass and not mine. If it's empty, fill it. It's a hundred and something outside, please make sure all your guests are hydrated. The bill was $70. The lunches were extremely overpriced for what we got, to be honest. I know that prices have gone up and that inflation is a thing. I get that, I really do. The chicken sandwich was definitely not worth $15 and although the onion rings were good (and I'm thankful we weren't charged extra for them), it was still a letdown. This was akin to a $12 combo meal at a fast food joint. The first time I was here was a couple months ago. I had ordered the Denver omelette and when the waitress came out, she brought the wrong omelette ,(the three meat) out and didn't even try to correct her mistake even AFTER I had said it was wrong. That waitress was also inattentive and ignored us for the majority of our meal. We don't eat out a whole lot so it's a treat when we do. Less of a treat to receive subpar, overpriced food and subpar service. Sorry.
